Transfer Values Inputfield

Hallo,
I have an Input field in my BSP development:
This calls a Javascript function for displaying a Popup window (test.htm) with possible values for the field:
function ShowModalBox(Object, Key, hid) {
  InputObject = Object;
  InputKey = Key;
  content = escape (document.forms[0].iv.value);
  newDialog = window.open("test.htm?hid="+hid, "_blank", "resizable=yes,height=700,width=300"); }
Everything is Ok, except that the selected value is not set in the input field. After testing a lot and checking some examples, probably I´m not calling correctly the onValueHelp parameter. This certainly is developed in MVC; in normal pages it works correctly !!! and I ask myself why.
Has any one an answer or idea ??  Thanks a lot.

That is because in MVC the ID that you give your HTMLB elements is not the one used at the fontend.  Because MVC Views are reusable and can be imbedded (through sub-controllers) inside other views and pages, you could run into problems with uniqueness of the IDs.  Therefore the controller IDs are appended to the IDs you specify. 
If you are going to use JavaScript to access these fields on the frontend, you must account for these additional IDs. 
Here is an example:

        document.updateeco.<%= controller->component_id %>_sendinfo_bnd.value = document.updateeco.myexcel.XMLData;
    </script>
I just use the controller object that is exposed to the View and use its component_id.
