I would like to transfer all my apps,songs and pictures and video content to my ipod touch generation 4. What is the best way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

It is easy. Just sync it to the same computer and the first time you connected the 4G restore it using the backup from your 1G. You should be prompted for that option when you first connect it.

It depends upon what mail provider you use. You might not be able to sync but you should be able to set up the Mail app on the iPod to to acces your account.
If it is an IMAP or Exchange account those account synce among different devices. If yo have a POP3 account those do not sync.

The iPod isn't designed for device to device copy but you can transfer the songs on the old iPod back to iTunes and update your new one from there. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Transferring applications from a computer to the iPod Touch

I recently did a Restore to move my iPod Touch from one computer to a new one. I've been able to synch my music and photos successfully. On my new computer, I purchased two applications. They appear in the "applications" category in the source pane OK, but they don't synch with my iPod Touch. Any suggestions as to how to solve the problem would be greatly appreciated.

You can choose the update option to sync from selected folders, however this will only go one level down. If the main folder you are syncing from has sub folders they will show in the box below "Sync photos from folder". For example you may choose to sync from My Pictures and inside My Pictures you have folders for different subjects. You can choose which of those subject folders you want to update to the iPod or you might want to make a folder in there especially for iPod photos. You can drag these folders into an order of your choice.
Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder and sub folders on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Inside this folder create as many other folders as you want (or drag and drop existing ones from other locations on your hard drive)
3 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the appropriate folders you just created. (not necessary if you are using pre-existing folders already containing photos)
4 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
5 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
6 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.

I'm just learning some of the capabilities of a new ipod Touch, and have a question re how to transfer photos from my desktop PC to the ipod. I have Photoshop Elements, but do not use that for organizing my pictures. Instead, I manage my photos through my own folder management.
What I would like to be able to do, is set up hierarchical folders such as Photos --> Trips --> Countries --> Cities --> etc. I would also like to have other branches coming off of Photos such as Family, Landscapes, Nature, etc.
Is there an easy way to do something like this with the ipod Touch?

I have a first generation ATV. Some time ago I synched from a MacBook a bunch of video onto the ATV hard drive. I subsequently deleted all the content from the MacBook. I now want to recover the content from the ATV hard drive back to the Mac. I am afraid that a simple sync between iTunes on the MacBook and the ATV will result in the MacBook deleting the content from the ATV, not in copying the content from the ATV back to the Mac. How can I safely recover the content from the ATV?

Right. Tiny confession. This is not actually my ATV. A friend is in this situation and I am trying to help, but having said that I'm pretty sure all the content is home movies, not purchased. I do have an app, Senuti, that will reverse copy content from an iPod or iPhone and it works great, but not on an ATV.

Sorry if this is the wrong section
I jus bought a new ipad, and i was jus wondering hw to transfer those apps content from old ipad to the new ones.
The contents I was referring to was stuffs like games histories, such as the levels and achievements. (i got a game called bubble mania, and i got quite far in it, i dont wanna redo it all over again. Hahas)
As well as contents in an apps called the "ppstream". (i kinda downloaded 10+ gigabytes of movies in it, so redownloading it is quite a hassle)
I used the backup using itunes, and it does reinstalled all those apps i used, but all the apps are empty so its kinda useless.
Did i did the wrong backup? or are they any more extra steps that needed to be done?
is there any way to make a complete copy of the ipad or clone it to the new ipad?

You have to have a current backup of the old iPad before you restore the new iPad from the backup of the old iPad. Read this and see if it becomes clearer to you. You should probably transfer purchases as well so that all of your bases are covered.

Transferring content from iphone?

I wanted to know if it is possible to transfer content from my iphone to my itunes library which is on a new computer, my last computer pretty much gave up on me. I have tried a few things but have had no luck, so i just wanted to know if its even possible to do without a backup. Thanks any help would be great.

I have a Pantech Burst P9070, an iPod Touch 4th gen using IOS 6.1.2, a laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 and an 8GB micro SD card.
