Transferring money between checking accounts when using Numbers

I have multiple checking accounts. I have set them up so each account has it's own page within a workbook. I frequently transfer money between accounts. How do I set it up so transfers don't appear as income/expenses?

"rule" usually implies conditional formatting, which affects only how cell content and background are displayed, not what's done with it, so probably not. So far you've not stated what's contained in columns A and E, so it's difficult to say what, if anything, needs to be done there.
To post a screen shot, you use Command-Shift-4 (don't include the control key) to turn your cursor into Cross-Hairs, and then click-drag across the part of the screen to be captured. This saves a file, Picture 1, on your desktop. Rename the file and upload it to to a photo hosting site such as Flickr, Picasa or Photobucket and copy the "sharing" HTML code that they supply. Paste the HTML code here in your post.

    I have accidentally created another account when using Migration Assistant to a new MBA. I have read that I probably should not have skipped migration in the initial set up and the problem would have been avoided but, alas, here I am. Does anyone know how I can 'migrate' all the files from one of the accounts that has been created to the other, so then I can delete it and have a single user on the computer seeing as I am the only person using it? I have read starting again, if this is the way to go, where is the best place to start 'starting again'?

    Yes definitely should see it but its not coming up (I don't think) when I log out of 2nd user and into the main account. Opening finder in the 2nd account, I can obviously find the public folder because thats where I dropped all the files, but when in the main account, it can't be found. The only public folder that comes up is the folder for that account (main account) and it does not display files I'm looking for. Frustrating....
    EDIT: Have found it through a round-about way but all music and photo and movie etc files have a red stop sign disallowing them from being transferred. Can you guess what the next question will be?

    First, make sure you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account ID and password you set up, or used, when you redeemed your card/gift.  If you are, try signing out of the account and back in.
    If you're sure you are using the correct account and that you're signing in to the iTunes Store, and signing out and back in doesn't help, go to the Purchase History:

    and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have the balance left that you think. iTunes doesn't always refresh the balance it shows, so it's possible you spent the money and it just wasn't being reflected in the display. This display error again can usually be corrected by logging out of the iTunes Store and then back in.
    If you confirm that you should have a higher balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    I believe what it's supposed to mean is that some changes were made to the document on another device, and those changes were saved back to the cloud.  Now you've opened iWork on a different device to access that document - it compares the document you've got locally with the one in the could, sees some recent changes and downloads them.
    What gets me is why this sometimes happens even when I've not made any changes to a document from another device.

    When using Numbers with iCloud, a new version is created every time I make a change. I do not want all these revised documents. When I change a document, I commit to that change. How do I shut off this multiple-revision feature of Numbers being pushed to iCloud.

    So i I bought songs on itunes, and I was wondering when does the money come out of your checking-account after purchasing songs? It took out money directly the first time when i purchased a song, but not it seems like it's taking longer then usual. Does anyone know how long it takes for apple to take the money you spent out of your checking-account?

    Unfortunately, you are not addressing apple here - these are user to user technical forums and the volunteers here are not shady.
    As for your issue: did Apple have to replace the screen or components behind it? If so, it is quite possible that the entire top was replaced as some of them are a complete unit. If that is not the case, you should address this with the Apple people you dealt with for the repair.

    If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
    Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
    Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
    You can figure out using it with another machine from that too

    I have the same question. My credit card is charged every few days for varying amounts and I did not purchase anything from iTunes. My credit card bill says Apple ITunes but no other detail is provided to inform me what the charge is for.

  • Why does my MB Pro's battery drain so fast when using Numbers?

    I have this problem since I updated my MB Pro to Mountain Lion. Everytime I start using Numbers (latest version), the fan of my Laptop goes on and the running time of my battery drops to 1 1/2 hours. My MacBook also gets really warm. Everything seems that Numbers is not running really efficiently on my Laptop. That makes it hard to follow an entire lecture and it's really annoying for me and my classmates; because of this issue I currently use Excel instead.
    I have a MacBook Pro late 2012 with the 2.7 GHz i7, 4 GB Ram and OS X 10.8.2.
    I don't experience those problems when I'm using pages or keynote.
    Does anyone have the same problem? Are there any suggestions?

    This issue was first noted here around the beginning of August, 2012. See this thread, but don't take the reply marked "solved" too seriously—it turned out to be premature.
    Briefly, the issue is that Numbers consumes about 70% of available CPU time/activity whenever the mouse pointer is on a table. That CPU usage consumes power, creates heat, and activates the fans.
    No solution as yet. A summary of suggestions:
    File a bug report (Numbers menu > Provide Numbers Feedback)
    If you're near an Apple Store, take the MBP to the Genius Bar and demonstrate the issue using your machine (or any 2012 MBP with Numbers installed).
    Move the mouse pointer off any table whenever possible.
    Check the thread for any I've missed.

    When travelling overseas you can access your BigPond mailbox through an email program, or via the BigPond Webmailhttp://messaging.bigpond.com/inbox.do or http://webmail.bigpond.com/webedge/do/oldlogin. If you choose to use an email program, some settings will need to be adjusted, as mentioned below.
    While there are no 'perfect' settings which will work every time and from every country, it may as simple as adjusting the Authentication on the outgoing mail server.
    If you are accessing the internet via another Internet Service Provider (ISP), but want to send email through our outgoing mail server using your BigPond email address, then you must activate SMTP authentication. For the purposes of this, think of an 'SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server' as the outbound mail server.
    Make sure that you have adjusted the outgoing port settings as listed below, or configure your mail client so that it uses the service provider's SMTP server, with SMTP Authentication disabled. If you are uncertain on what this is, you can usually search for this online, or alternatively contact the service provider that is providing your internet access.
    If you are uncertain which mail platform you are on, you can confirm this by logging in here.

  • Editing Checking Account Template in Numbers '09

    Hey y'all. I just graduated from college and am just starting to pay off student loans. I want to use the checking account template, but I don't need a lot of the junk on it. I just want a simple way to track deposits and loan payments. I legitimately only use my checking account for loans, so I don't need to keep track of car payments, gas, food, and all that jazz.
    I am able to change the name of the account categories in the table at the top of the template, but it does not update the changes in the D column (labelled "category") of the actual transaction history.
    Is there a way to change the drop down options for column D to just Loans and Deposits? I looked through the help files on a way to change "categories," but all it did was redirect me to editing categories and sub categories.
    I think that a part of why I am having trouble is because it is so confusing to try to explain what it is I want to change. I've used Mac all my life, so I'm pretty confident that there is a way to change what I want without creating a table that fits my needs from scratch.

    Here's the easiest way to go about it:
    Small table:
    1. Delete all the category labels in cells A2 through A6 in the small table.
    2. Enter "Deposits" in A2 and "Loans" in A3 of the small table.
    Large table:
    3. Click on cell D2 of the large table.
    4. Click the Inspector button OR press option-command-I (letter i) OR go View > Show Inspector
    5. Click the Cell Format button in the Inspector window. (the button with "42" on it)
    6. Check that the Cell Format is set to "Pop-up Menu" Set if necessary.
    7. Click the + sign below the list of options; type Loans
    8. Click the + sign again; type Deposits
    9. Click the word "Deposit" at the top of the list.
    9a. Click - repeatedly until all options except the two you entered are removed from the list.
    Delete the contents of rows 3-14 in columns A, B, C and E (These are the columns into which you will enter data) and enter your starting balance into cell F1.
    Note that cheque amounts must be entered as negative amounts (-10 or -10.00 for a ten dollar cheque) and deposits must be entered as positive amounts (20.5 or 20.50 for a twenty dollar and fifty cent deposit) to have the balance correctly calculated.
    Changing category labels in the small table at the top does two things:
    • Changes the corresponding category label on the pie chart to the left.
    • Changes the signal that determines whether a cheque amount is included in the subtotal in the cell to the right of the label.
    The absolute values of the subtotals determine the portion of the pie shaded with that subtotal's colour. An account showing $300 in deposits and $(300) in cheques for loans will have 50% shaded in each colour.

    I am getting an error message when I try to print checks for payment.
    "You cannot pring checks while another user is accessing this checking account [message 854-35].
    No one else is on the system at this time.
    How can I find who could be accessing this checking account?
    what causes this error to occur? It seems I have seen this message on my test system before.
