Transformation routine on 2 different targets fields

Hi gurus,
I have been trying do some ABAP transformation routines, I did 1 and it was good works fine, then I tried to create another transformation routine on a different target field of the same DSO, and for some reason what I did on the global declaration on the other transformation is in this transformation and if I do a change in the second transformation it shows in the first transformation, other thing is that in the second transformation anything works, I got errors for everything and are not very specific. I may be skipping some basic steps; maybe I canu2019t create 2 transformation routines in the same transformation?
Thanks

Hi,
There can be just 1 start routine.
These are execute once. Also the declarations done in the global section remain visible in all the transformation routines.
You can write multiple transformation(field level) routines.

  • Message-Mapping: Use same RFC lookup for different target fields

    Hello,
    I need to apply an RFC Lookup which delivers a boolean flag back (true or false). This RFC lookup should be used for different target fields.
    Is there a way to execute the RFC lookup just once and then store the result in an internediate variable that I can use for all futher checks for different target fields?
    If this is not possible and I have to apply the RFC lookup for all necessary target fields is it then executed for each target field ? This is exactly what I want to avoid in order not to slow down performance.
    The input parameter (=source field value) would be the same.
    Thank you for your advice!

    Exactly.
    Here is a UDF example I have that you could adapt to your needs.
    Set
    public String setCounter(String a,String b,Container container){
    /* Store values in global datacontainer
    a: mapping value and return valueparameter
    b: name for stored value parameter
    GlobalContainer myGlobalContainer;
    myGlobalContainer = container.getGlobalContainer();
    myGlobalContainer.setParameter(b.toUpperCase(), a);
    return a;
    Get
    public String getCounter(String a,Container container){
       //write your code here
    GlobalContainer gc = container.getGlobalContainer();
    if (gc.getParameter(a) != null) {
      return String.valueOf(gc.getParameter(a));
    } else {
    return "1";

  • REGEX statement not working in transformation routine?

    hi,
    I need to include the REGEX ABAP key word in transformation routine for one of the fields--
    FIND all OCCURRENCEs OF REGEX
    But when i include this statement it says:
    E: statement "REGEX" is not defined.check your spelling--
    but same statement when i copy in SE38 ABAP editor it works very fine--
    May i know what is the reason?
    i had tried with all possible single quotes before posting here

    Is that the entire statement?  It looks like it is interpeting REGEX as a variable.  It should look something like this:
    FIND all OCCURRENCEs OF REGEX '(\b\S+\b)(-?)' IN g_result

    I need your help in transformation routine.
    I have  source fields like 0DOC_NO(Sales Document no), 0CREATEDON(Created on), 0DLV_STS (Delivery status), 0DLVQLESC (Delivery Date Acc to scheduline date). i have 4 keyfigures like Late Incomplete (ZLI), Late Complete (ZLC), Ontime Complete (ZOC), Ontime In Complete (ZOI). i want to count no of sales order as ZLI, ZLC, ZOC, ZOI.
    I  have four conditions which i have to write for each keyfigures with above source fields in transformation routine.
    1) For Late Incomplete : -  if (0DLV_STS nt Eq C) and (0DLVQLSEC >0) then add1
    2) For Late Complete  : -  if (0DLV_STS  Eq C) and (0DLVQLSEC >0) then add1

    Hi,
    Try this code...
    For Late Incomplete
    IF ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLV_STS NE 'C' ) AND ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLVQLSEC GE '0' ).
    IF ( SOURCEPACKAGE IS INITAL ).
    RESULT = 1.
    ELSE.
    RESULT = RESULT + 1.
    ENDIF.
    For Late Complete
    IF ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLV_STS EQ 'C' ) AND ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLVQLSEC GE '0' ).
    IF ( SOURCEPACKAGE IS INITAL ).
    RESULT = 1.
    ELSE.
    RESULT = RESULT + 1.
    ENDIF.
    For On-Time Complete
    IF ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLV_STS EQ 'C' ) AND ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLVQLSEC EQ '0' ).
    IF ( SOURCEPACKAGE IS INITAL ).
    RESULT = 1.
    ELSE.
    RESULT = RESULT + 1.
    ENDIF.
    For On-TIme Incomplete
    IF ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLV_STS NE 'C' ) AND ( SOURCEFIELD-0DLVQLSEC GE '0' ).

  • Target value in transformation routine

    Hi
    How can I get the value of target field, which is already present, in the transformation routine?
    For Example, I have a transformation between ODS DS1 and ODS DS2. DS1 has fields DS1_F1, DS1_F2 and DS2 has fields DS2_F1, DS2_F2. Now I have written a transformation routine for target field DS2_F1 with input DS1_F1. In this routine, I want to get the value of DS2_F1, which is already present, before the result is being updated. How can I get it?

  • End Routine - populating Target Field based on Master Data

    Hi,
    I have an issue with my End Routine in BI 7.0. The scenario is as follows....
    The Target-Fields ZSALES_OFFICE , 0SALES_CHANNEL etc. are being mapped 1:1 from their respective source fields. In addition to these target fields I have a target field 0SALESORG which I need to populate based on the values from 0COMP_CODE which is an attribute of ZSALES_OFFICE. The values of 0COMP_CODE are 9000, 9001, 9002 and 9003 respectively. The end routine condition needs to be implemented as follows...
    For every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9000, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "EAST". Similarly for every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9001, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "WEST",  for every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9002, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "NORTH" and  for every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9003, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "SOUTH". • Transformation: no target field

    Hello,
    I'm trying the Blog

    There is only one line: 0RECORDMODE.
    Where could be the error?
    Should I somehow insert the fields in the DataStore? How?
    Thanks for any hint.

  • Calling a function module from within a transformation routine

    I created a routine within a transformation and experience the following weird behavior now:
    When I call a function module within that routine, the load fails with the following error message:
    Exceptions in Substep: Rules
    When I click on the button next to this text, it point me to my function module call.
    What I do not understand is, that the following two scenarios work fine:
    - Having the same function call (with fake values) in a plain ABAP program works beautilfully
    - If I copy the content of my function module directly into my transformation routine, everything works fine as well
    I am now wondering whether the routine does not "see" the function module I am calling. The module resides in a different package. Is that a problem? Do I have to include something first?
    Here is the code that calls my FM (
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_CA_CONVERT_US_COST'
         EXPORTING
            PSOURCEVAL                      = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USFRZMFC
            PSOURCEUOM                      = SOURCE_FIELDS-BASE_UOM
            PUSITM                          = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USITM
            PTARGETUOM                      = PRODUCTION_UOM

           CONVERSION_NOT_MAINTAINED = 1
           PARTNO_NOT_FOUND          = 2
           OTHERS                    = 3.
    Thanks a lot for your help. Points will be assigned.
    Dennis

    Good catch, BI Learner. This was exactly it: when assigning the values from SOURCEFIELDS directly to the import/export parameters, you have to make sure that the types are EXACTLY the same, otherwise it will not work (the routine stops with an error when calling the FM, but there is no dump).
    Therefore, to solve my problem, I created the declarations precisely as expected by the FM and assigned the values to these fields:
    DATA:
          SOURCEVAL TYPE  /BIC/OIINVQTY,
          SOURCEUOM TYPE  /BIC/OIUSUOM,
          USITM TYPE  /BIC/OIUSITM,
          TARGETUOM TYPE  /BIC/OIUSUOM,
          CONVERTED_COST TYPE  /BIC/OIINVQTY.
    DATA PRODUCTION_UOM TYPE /BIC/OIUSUOM.
    " get the Production UOM
        SELECT SINGLE I~/BIC/USPRDUOM
          FROM /BIC/PUSITM AS I
          INTO PRODUCTION_UOM
          WHERE I~/BIC/USITM = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USITM AND I~OBJVERS = 'A'.
        IF ( SY-SUBRC = 4 ). " no records found
          "RAISE PARTNO_NOT_FOUND.
          RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE CX_RSROUT_SKIP_RECORD.
        ENDIF.
    " load the parameters
        SOURCEVAL = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USFRZMFC.
        SOURCEUOM = SOURCE_FIELDS-BASE_UOM.
        USITM = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USITM.
    " then you can call the FM
        CALL FUNCTION 'Z_CA_CONVERT_US_COST'
          EXPORTING
            PSOURCEVAL                = SOURCEVAL
            PSOURCEUOM                = SOURCEUOM
            PUSITM                    = USITM
            PTARGETUOM                = PRODUCTION_UOM
          IMPORTING
            PTARGETVAL                = CONVERTED_COST
          EXCEPTIONS
            CONVERSION_NOT_MAINTAINED = 1
            PARTNO_NOT_FOUND          = 2
            OTHERS                    = 3.
    " ... [do the rest]

  • Picking up required Characteristics from my Source field to Target field!!

    Hi ,
    I need to pick up data from  a source field that is 35 characters long to a target field in my Cube that is only 4 char long. But the data that will be fed into this source field will be 4 char long only, so can anyone help me with picking up only the 4 char I need into my target field.
    Is this possible, If yes kindly post the routine that will allow me to concatenate the remaining characteristics and pick up only the 4 char I need.
    Thanks,
    Guru.

    Also, if this is the behaviour of the infoObject at all the places it is to be used, you can created Global Transfer Routine at infoObject level.
    Otherwise you can write the routine in transformations, rule type "Routine" and then the avaiable source field can be used.
    A simple example:
    I needed to build a character date field for a cross-platform integration project I was working on. First, I defined the date field:
    data: datechar(10).
    To build the date lets use sy-datum, which has the current system date.
      write SY-DATUM+4(2) to datechar+0(2).
      write '/' datechar+2(1).
      write SY-DATUM+6(2) to datechar+3(2).
      write '/' TO datechar+5(1).
      write SY-DATUM+0(4) to datechar+6(4).
    Value of SY-DATUM 20010616
    Here's how the field changes with the execution of each line.
    06________
    06/_______
    06/16_____
    06/16/____
    06/16/2001
    Hope this helps.

  • How to load data into 3 different target tables usin BODS ?

    Hello Friends,
    I have 5 different source tables with same field definitions, Now I want to load all the records into three/four different target tables (Flat file, SQL Server, XML, and Oracle ) Could anyone please tell me how to do this task ?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Bheem.

    Hello Bheem,
    You can create separated dataflow for each target as suggested by Bala, this is a good choice when evaluating you scenario.
    If you put all targets in the same dataflow you may experience problems if one of them is down (as you have different servers as targets).
    BODS will send the data simultaneously to all targets and when one fails, the load will be break and you may have the tables not sinc anyways (if you plan to use a single dataflow to avoid this situation, it won't do it).
    So the best option is to create separated dataflow and put inside another one so you can run a singe dataflow that will call each one of the target and if onw fails the other will complete accordingly.
    Then if you put them inside a error trapping, you may even make your dataflow to retry the load prior abend the job.
    Think about cascading your dataflows and let the leaf level simple as it can be so it will be easier to schedule and debug your process.
    Pay attention to datatypes and other conversions you might need when working with more than one source/target.

  • Table Declaration in Transformation Routine

    Hi all,
    I have declared a table in transformation routine as follows :
    DATA : BEGIN OF VACATIONS OCCURS 0,
           DATE TYPE D,
           END OF VACATIONS.
    System is giving following error on this :
    ' E:Tables with headers are no longer supported in the OO context.'
    What should I do now?

    Hi Al,
       Let me explain here ... because you are doing what is being told to do without actually understanding your purpose. Let me take a scenario. You want to read a database table for sales orders populate it into the internal table. Then you wnat to loop at the internal table you populated and print the output. For this what you need is an internal table where your data will be stored - simply put its a 2 dimentional array. so your data once put into the internal table would look like:
    Sales_Order  Sold_To_Party
    1                        1
    2                        3
    3                        5
    4                        1
    Now what you do is read it - which means you are going to read one line at a time, which means a structure not an internal table, which was the purpose of the header line. but since header lines are not supported you need a different work area (structure). So that when you read the first line your structure contains as follows:
    1                       1
    When you read the second line your structure or work area contains the second line:
    2                        3
    so on.....
    From the explaination above you must be clear that you need an internal table to store data temporarily and a structure to manipulate a single record. Now the cod would look like:
    DATA: it_vbak type table of VBAK.
    DATA: wa_vbak type vbak.
    Notice above that one is using a "table" while declaring and the other is not.
    Select * from VBAK into table it_vbak.
    loop at it_vbak into wa_vbak.
    note above that you are looping at the internal table and populating one record
    into the work area.
       write:/ wa_vbak-vbeln.
    endloop.
    Hope this helps. Ask if you have any more concerns.
    Best regards,
    Kazmi
