Transient VO and UIX checkBox tag

I have created a VO that uses several attributes from an EO. In addition, it contains several transient attributes. The transient attributes work fine when editing with the textInput tag - the values are stored and displayed as expected.
However, I cannot get a checkBox to work with them. I have used the checkBox numerous times in other parts of the application where the data is stored and recovered from a database.
Can someone tell me if they have seen any problem with checkBox tags with transient attributes? Any suggestions on what might be the problem?

Ok. I found the problem.
The way I was testing this was by leaving the textInput field on the form with the checkBox. I assumed that there would not be a conflict. However, there is and when I commented out the textInput tags everything worked fine.

Checkbox is a form element. Did you put it inside <form> tags?

Question with uix:dateField tag

hi,
I am trying to use the dateField tag of uix. when we write the dateField tag as <uix:dateField /> it creates a calender. but when I click on the calender nothing shows up. In the tag Itself there are various attribs like the destination, minValue, maxValue etc probably the destination takes us to the calender!! I do have a script that opens up the calender but i suppose the dateField does that for us and If I want to validate the field a client side vadilation also is available

could you tell me what is the equivalant to the <form action = "something here"> in the <uix:form> tag???? like is it <uix:form destination = "some java class">?? will this work??
when I hit submit I want to form to be submitted and the values in the form read by my "something here" java class.

My iTunes library and metadata/ID3 tags issue

Since 2010, iTunes is the only media player I use to play music. My library consists of music purchased from the iTunes Store, CD rips and stuff many artists these days release as freebies on the internet to promote a new album. Also, M4A and MP3 are the only formats I use so far.
Since iTunes, I really got into editing my library's metadata tags by hand, in order to create a custom archive which serves my preferences best. I should mention that besides iTunes being the only software I use to play my music library, it's also the only software I use to edit their metadata. Also, before iTunes – when my library was on different media players – I never bothered with editing them.
A few days ago, I found how a lot of people in forums complain about the way iTunes edits and stores metadata. So, I experimented and moved a few of my songs to other media players after editing their tags within iTunes. And indeed the tags and/or artwork were often displayed messed up and/or incorrect, some times partially and some times completely.
Some people were referring to the version of the ID3 tags being the issue, while others suggested using the "convert ID3 tags" feature. I myself am a little bit confused. "Converting the ID3 tags" wasn't available for my M4A files and once I performed it for my MP3's I didn't know which setting I should apply or what version to choose. I chose one version randomly but I'm not sure what happened.
My goal is to make my music library able to play and display my custom metadata on the majority of the popular media players. I hope that firstly this is possible and that secondly it won't be a solution which requires me going through every single song individually.
I really hope that all those years work on my library wasn't for nothing.
I'm using a MacBook running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and my iTunes version is 10.7
While my music library is more important that my iTunes version, I do like iTunes 10 more than 11.

Anything ripped with iTunes should get a single tag. Several is at least two, but more could be needed if a file has both v1 and v2 tags in multiple languages. If there are two tags, the first conversion to none should remove the first one, and the second conversion the second. Experiment, And stick to v2.3.

Yes, everything but artwork is held in the iTunes database and is restored with the final Convert ID3 Tags... v2.3. Use Doug's scripts SaveAlbumArtJpeg before you start and RestoreArtworkFromAlbumFolder afterwards to save and the restore your existing artwork.

Yes, m4a/aac files have a different tag mechanism. Multiple ID3 tags is just one possible issue that you might have. You said:

It might be worth going into some more detail about exactly what differences you noticed. iTunes can automatically associate (instead of embedding) artwork when it can match the album in the store which could be why some tracks didn't get artwork.

Check for text in a text field and make checkbox mandatory

I have a text field where if the user has entered a value, then the checkbox that follows must be mandatory. I have this script that works (sort of), but I'm not sure which event to use to get the results I want. I want the message and the checkbox to be mandatory only if something is typed in the field.
Here's the script:

That worked. Thank you. I have another problem now. If the user deletes the information typed in the text field, the message box still displays and the checkbox is still outlined in red indicating it's required and it shouldn't be.

How do I extract pages from an accessible document and keep the tags?

I have a 300 page document that contains tags. I need to extract 5 pages with complex <Table> structures and maintain the tags. I also want to Import the same pages into another document while maintaining the Tags.
My efforts this far gives the 5 extracted pages and there are Tags but they no longer seem connected to the pages.
Am I asking too much?

Thank you very much for the assistance. I ended up deleting all of the pages and Tags but those that I wanted to "export". Saving that as a file and combining it successfully.
I did indeed follow the instructions for Extracting, but as with many things in Acrobat, it has its issues.
Here is what I think happened that ensured failure before. First I assumed that if I export the pages the Tags "belonging" to those pages would export as well without difficulty. For each page I created a new Section and named it for the page number. So with the auto-tagging completed I created Section for each page and moved the Tags under the proper Sections. However I had not completed the process for the entire document when I needed to do the Export. I apparently left Tags belonging to later pages in the document (they were buried in Sections of Sections).
When I originally exported, I had the pages I wanted and a lot of Tags relating to pages at the beginning of the document as well as Tags for pages near the end of the document. Clearly the Tags (in the Tag View) for the pages not exported were dead. But so were the Tags for the pages that were exported.
I expect that not having the Tags in proper order made Acrobat lose its mind during the export process.

How to populate a textfield based on a dropdown list and a checkbox

I need help.
first step: I have a dropdown list if i click in dropdownlist "a" and put in numeric field a number bigger than 99 the, checkbox should be marked and second step: a textfield1 should be visible.
the first step works perfectly but the second doesnt work.
this is my coding for the second step in event : change java script

does anybody have any idea why?

I would put the following in the exit of the dropdown and the checkbox:

(DropDownList1.rawValue == "a" && CheckBox1.rawValue == 1){
TextField1.presence
= "visible";}
else
TextField1.presence
= "hidden";}
(the script is all over the shop, but should be OK in the form).
Then in the exit event of the numeric field (after the changing of the checkbox value) you could call the checkbox exit event.

That's a brownout, where you don't have enough electricity going to the device.
It usually occurs with bad wiring, or a heavy device like a AC or refrigerator unit kicking on the compressor which draws a lot of current.
You need to reduce the electrical load on the power lines your using, if you don't know, call in a electician to take a look and calculate your load.
It's a potential fire hazzard too when there is a big spike like that, electrical fires start that way.
Use your device someplace else with good power and see if it continues. Then you know it's a hardware problem.

Description and keywords meta tags

Could you tell me if it's possible to create HTML output of an ADF page, that has "description" and "keywords" meta tags in the head? Something like:

I know the SEO results may not be great, but I'd still like to use it, just to make it as good as possible for search engines.

I didn't see any examples or have time to test, but you can certainly try putting the meta tags in that facet.
Update: all of the examples I can find show how to inject javascript into the metacontainer, but it should give you an idea how to do it for <meta> tags. Concerning Device_Id, currently, we do ask that the fields be consistent and explicitly provided for each and every event. We cannot look at a previous event and get a field value from there.
