Translating graph labels to different locale
Hello to all you Gurus.
We are in the process of localizing rtf BIP reports using different xlf files. After being successful translating everything (text, table headings etc), we've noticed that we were unable to translate graph labels. Those labels have been entered in the graph label dialog of the MS Word plug-in.
Any ideas how to resolve the above mentioned issue will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Struggled with this my self a few weeks ago. Unfortunatly chart labels and titles aren't exported within the XLF file.
You may solve this issue by adding the titles and labels within you XML dataset. In other words: create a view or table which contains these values and results in something like this:
<CHART_LABELS>
<CHART1_TITLE>Grafiek 1</TITLE>
<CHART1_ROWLABEL>Eerste rijlabel</CHART1_ROWLABEL>
<CHART2_TITLE>Grafiek 2</CHART2_TITLE>
<CHART2_ROWLABEL1>Eerste rijlabel</CHART2_ROWLABEL1>
<CHART2_ROWLABEL2>Tweede rijlabel</CHART2_ROWLABEL2>
</CHART_LABELS>
Within you graph xml select titles like this:
<Title text="{//CHART_LABELS/CHART1_TITLE}" visible="true" horizontalAlignment="LEFT" />
Row labels like this:
<Label><xsl:value-of select="//CHART_LABELS/CHART1_ROWLABEL"/></Label>
Don't forget to add a language code or something like that. This should do the trick :).
Kind regards,
Machiel

MM invoice reversal-"Message No. M8396-Different local currencies CAD USD
Hi,
My client created a PO with two line items and both the line items have the plants belonging to the same company code with CAD currency. But the second item in the PO needed an account assignment and they are using a cost center belonging to other company code with USD curr. They have posted an invoice against this PO and now when they are trying to reverse/cancel the invoice they are not able to do. They are getting an error "Message No. M8396 - Different local currencies CAD USD".
Is there anyway that they can do this?

How to schedule multiple reports with different local to change static field language ?
Hi all,
we have requirement that we will place multiple schedule request on same server ,This schedule request will be different local setting with parameter value like: en-GB,en-US,Chinese...etc .We used translation Manager for this and it takes this parameter and change report language for static fields.
problem is that ,on server it is not working properly,we tested for one report .if we pass prompt value to change local setting in report the we need to log off and login again in CMC to reflect new local or on BI Launchpad we need to refresh page then it shows new language.
How we can do this with multiple scheduled report which will have different local value like en-GB,en-US,Chinese,German....?These schedule request are getting placed in server by one user .
Please help us with sample code.
Thanks
MadanHi,
The only approach I can think of is to create a template report which uses variables
For each column you would need to variable
v_columnAName and v_columnAValue
v_columnAName would have a if statement in it
=if([client]="clientA" or [client]="clientC";NameOf([firstName]);if([client]="clientB";NameOf([SSN]);NameOf([lastName]));
v_columnA would have a if statement in it
=if([client]="clientA" or [client]="clientC";[firstName];if([client]="clientB";[SSN],[lastName]));
This would only work when you had a small set of clients.
This might be more managable if it was done in the universe

Edit Graph label during runtime
Hi,
Is it possible to edit the label of the Graph during runtime? I know there is a property node to change the name, but I want to edit it by clicking on it, just like I can change the range of the scale.
Thanks,
RiteshHow do you have the user resizing the graph? I have never seen that capability built into the graph before.
You were talking about the graph label, which to me meant the label that shows above the graph. But now you are talking about an axis label, which is a different entity altogether.
An axis label can be programmatically changed, but can't be changed by a user clicking on a graph during run time. I question why you would want to give a user of your program the ability to do that anyway. The axis labels should be determined by the programmer since they are directly related to the data that is being displayed on the graph. Giving the user the ability to edit a graph label could be dangerous as it could give the impression that the graph is displaying some completely different data set than it actually is. -

Monitoring servers in SCOM 2012 via different locals within the same management group
Hi,
I have 2 management servers in a same management group. The 1st one is having English (US) locale while other is installed on Swedish locale. Both are accessed by different users having same admin rights.
Once a USER 1 try to register a server through authoring tab from 1st management server(installed on English locale), a profile/group wrt the server registered is created successfully but the USER on 2nd management server (installed on Swedish locale) can
not see the same in Authoring tab. He can view it in Monitoring tab as as well as Administration tab.
The Vice versa is also true.
Does any one have idea that is it SCOM 2012's expected behaviour wrt 2 2 different users on 2 different locales within a same management group ?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
I am a little confused, what do you mean by "register a server through authoring tab"?
Do you mean that when you discover a server on 1st MS with discovery wizard then you cannot see it on 2nd MS(and the vice versa)?
As far as I know, all those information should be stored in the operation database which is shared to both MSs within the same management group.
We may use SQL query to find the discovered server on the operation database. Please also check operation manager event logs to get more information to troubleshoot this issue.

Invoice in foreign currency: Different local currencies issue
Hi there,
We have two company codes 1000 & 2000 and we have a business requirement that Company Code 1000 needs to make purchases on behalf of company code 2000 using a cost object (cost center 20001234) under company code 2000.
Company Code 1000 local currency USD
Company Code 2000 local currency CAD and currency of cost center 20001234 is CAD. (We are using ECC 5.0)
We are running into an issue (Different local currencies USD CAD) when we try to post the vendor invoice in foreign currency. This error happens only when a GR (goods receipt) and IR (invoice receipt) being done on different dates, and the exchange rate changed between these dates.
Any help / pointers will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!Hi Ravi,
I have already configured purchase price variance account but still an error appears: "Inconsistent in FICO document: difference in first local currency".
Please take note the PO is charge to an asset account and usually any exchange rate difference should be charge to same account which is an asset account right? If the result of the difference is positive the systems allows the difference posting to the asset account but if the difference is a negative value above error appear.
Please assist me on this issue; any help would be highly appreciated. -
How do I create a graph with two different y-axis variables with the same x-axis (therefor having two curves)?, How do I create a graph with two different y-axis variables with the same x-axis (therefor having two curves)?
Hi Libby,
Select all three columns of data. All three must be 'regular' columns, not Header columns, and the X values must be in the leftmost column.
Click the Charts button and choose the Scatter chart.
The resulting chart will initially show only the first and second columns of data, and the selection will have been reduced to show this.
Click the gear icon at the top left of the selection and choose Share X Values.
You should see a result similar to this:
Notes:
The values on my sample table contain a random element, so they have changed from thhe first image to the second.
The chart is as created by Numbers, with two edits:
Data points have been connected with curves, using the Chart nspector.
The curves were selected and their stroke increased to 2pts, using the stroke formating button in the format bar.

Bad translation of labels in ADF Query Panel
Hi,
When I use an ADF Query Panel, all labels and buttons are translated automatically to Danish (probably because I have Danish region settings or some such). The problem is that it is not a very good translation: In the "Match" radio group at the top of the panel, the two buttons that would have the names "All" and "Any" in English, are both translated to "Alle" (the Danish word for "all"). In other words, I have a radio group with two buttons that are both called "Alle". I'm fairly confident that a customer would never accept this.
My questions are:
1) Where should such an error be reported?
2) Is there any way to make the panel use English labels and buttons, even under non-English region settings?
3) Is there any way I can correct the translation error myself temporarily, until an "official" correction is made?
Regards,
AndreasHi Andreas,
I logged Bug 9861526 - ADF - BAD DANISH TRANSLATION OF LABELS IN ADF QUERY PANEL
available from My Oracle Support.
The "Oracle Fusion Middleware Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework"
Chapter 20 Customizing the Appearance Using Styles and Skins
20.3 Defining Skin Style Properties
explains how to translate texts that ADF Faces components render.
The following bundle class should do the trick for your case:
import java.util.ListResourceBundle;
public class SkinBundle extends ListResourceBundle {
@Override
public Object[][] getContents()
return _CONTENTS;
static private final Object[][] _CONTENTS =
{"af_query.LABEL_CONJUNCTION_OR", "Enhver"}

Using different locale with date format
Hi guys,
I'm trying to print of the same date represented in its different locale but can't seem to get it right. I want the
dates and times to be represented appropriately (e.g., ?Feb? should be represented as ?f?vr.? in a
localized for France). I've also tried to use SimpleDateFormat but had no luck there either.
Locale[] locales = { new Locale("fr", "FR"), new Locale("zh", "CN"),
new Locale("it", "IT") };
for (int i = 0; i < locales.length; i++) {
//print date in the different locales
try {
changeLanuage(locales);
}catch(IOException e) {
System.out.println("ERROR:");
System.out.println()
public void changeLanuage(Local loc)
String dateString = "Sun Jan 27 01:56:00 GMT 2008"
// Get the default MEDIUM/MEDIUM DateFormat
String sdate = DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM, DateFormat.MEDIUM).format(new Date());
System.out.println(sdate);
try {
Date date;
date = DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM, DateFormat.MEDIUM,loc).parse(sdate);
String output;
output = DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance(DateFormat.FULL, DateFormat.FULL,loc).format(date);
outputStream.write(output);
}catch(ParseException pe) {
System .out.println("ERROR: for lanuage could not parse date in string \"" +
dateString + "\"");
pe.printStackTrace();
Running the code, at the terminal i get the following output.Apr 3, 2008 5:00:03 PM
ERROR: for lanuage could not parse date in string "Mon Jun 12 10:50:00 BST 2006"

Check have you you maintain the conversion factor in OB08?
And also check OBY6, which currency have you maintained for your company code?
And check the currency in purchasing tab in vendor master also?
Then do the MIRO,
Check it out.

Translated item labels swap to original language after validation error
Hello,
I've the weird behaviour in my application that translated item labels change to the original label name in case a validation error on that item occurs. I am displaying inline+notification errors. Only the labels of the "error-items" show the behaviour. What is this and how can I fix it.
Many thanks in advance!
JacobHi Arie,
It might be I'm not using translated applications in the right way then. What I do is I always leave the language of the application: application primary language
In order to switch from language I change the primary language from dutch to french or vice versa. In this way, the application language changes accordingly from dutch (original) to french (translated). f this is not the proper way, what do you suggest?
In case a validation error occurs on an item with label "NAAM". The error is displayed inline with that item and in the notification area, and the item label is now "NOM"
Apex version is 3.1.0
Hope this makes things clearer.
