Transmitting with JMStudio works on LAN but not over the web!

I've been reading all kinds of posts related to this problem.. it was asked many times but noone has given the answer.
The transmitter has to put the receivers ip and some port.
The receiver has to open rtp session with the transmitter's ip and the same port.
On a LAN it works, but over the internet it doesn't (the receiver keeps "waiting for data").
The two computers I used for trying that, are on no LAN's.. they are assigned a unique ip by the isp (two simple broadband or dial-up connections with single computers).
Why doesn't it work?
(The ip's I used are (for example) the ones that appear in whatsmyipaddress.com and i'm behind no proxy)

I am doing project on virtual classroom. I need to stream video over the internet. My program works fine on LAN but doesn't work on net.
My idea basically is to capture video from tutor and write the data to server pc's port (intermediator), so that student any where in the world can acess my server and its port to retrieve the live data.
The MediaLocator for both sending and retrieving data (i.e tutor and student )

Please let me is there something wrong with my logic, with media locator or with my other part of program.

I have decided to drop my intermediator (server).
Now I trying to work on direct communication between tutor (transmitter) and student (reciever). I can get two IP addresses of the student -
1 : Internet Proxy server IP address, (e.g. 203.109.246.29) which is uniquely identified on internet.
2 : Local IP address, (e.g. 192.168.1.23) which is valid on LAN.
I provided media locator as rtp://203.109.246.29:23232/video/1. If the student's pc is internet outlet then student is able to see the video. But if the student is sitting on LAN with some other pc as proxy server then tutor will write the data to the proxy server (since the proxy server is uniquely identified on the internet and not the student's pc). My problem now is how data be tranferred from proxy server to student's pc??
I feel like some broadcasting to be done on the LAN. I want to achieve it without having some program running on the Internet Proxy server.

Applet works on local Apache, not over the web

I have tried the following applet (where ShowMultiApplet() writes a standard applet tag - that works on local but again, not on the server):

I have tried org.jdesktop.layout structure in an external jar (using archive="lib/swing-layout-1.0.jar") and, most recently, in the same jar as the applet. Nothing works! :(
What processes are different between the local apache and the web server and why does it only affect the layout classes, not my own? Is it a recurring problem with swing-layout?

Flash work in preview but not in the browser!?

I have a .swf file in a table in Dreamweaver. When I preview it in place and in Safari, it plays. When I upload eveything, it is not in any browser on the server.. any ideas?

Built app with subpanels works for me, but not for him

Using labview 8.6 I have successfully built several revisions of an app that has multiple subpanels. It has successfully executed on several different hosts. However, with the most recent version I received a report that it launches, but the sub-panels do not load. Of course, WFM (works for me) -- the sub-panels are compiled into the app and they load just fine for me. The other user is using the free 8.6 LabView runtime. Again, previous app revisions have worked fine, and I don't know what is different about this build that could affect loading of the subpanels.
On my PC I renamed the path to the source files just in case the built app was picking up some missing file directly from the original VI directory. Still works for me. I even monitored it with FileMon (sysinternals.com) and confirmed that it never tried to open any other file (which further confirms that all the sub-panels are successfully incorporated into the built application).
The only other significant difference is that the app is designed for 1280x1024 screen and the other user is running on a 1024x768 laptop. But how could that affect loading the sub-VIs?
Does anyone have any idea what would cause a built application with subpanels to work fine on one host but not display the sub-panels on another host?

One imac works on lan but not other

Our LAN is based on a combination Motorola cable modem and router that provides WiFi and 4 ethernet ports. Our two iMACs and an iPOD, as well as two printers, have been connected to the LAN over WiFi, using the Airport setup. This arrangement generally has worked well, though resetting the router has to be done more often than I think is normal. A few days ago, I began using an Ethernet cable to connect one of the iMACs since it sits next to the router. Since then that computer (computer A) has never dropped off the LAN as it sometimes did. However, the other computer (computer B) is having some odd problems. For example, when computer A is running, computer B cannot send or receive emails, though it connects to the Web satisfactorily. It still is necessary to sometimes reset the router in order for computer B to connect to the LAN. I suspect that the LAN setup on one or both computers is at fault but have no idea what to look for or to change. The iPOD seems not to have any new problems, though it never has consistently detected the LAN; this problem seems to be mostly due to the location of the iPOD relative to the router.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

The router is only two months old. I switched my computer (computer A) back to connecting to the LAN via WiFi and my wife said the problems with her computer went away. I certainly can continue to use WiFi to connect to the LAN if that is what is needed but using the Ethernet cable did prove to be a bit more reliable for my computer. Again, any other ideas will be appreciated.

Set up synch with Exchange - works in Entourage but not in Mail!

In Entourage I've been able to connect to my Exchange 2003 server at the office. Apart from the certificate warning it works just ok.
But now, how do I set Mail to accept the same connection?
In other words which settings from Entourage go where in the Mail account settings?
So where's Mail's equivalent of:
- Domain
- The DAV 443 port setting
etc
Mail just keeps reporting that it cannot find the server.

Entourage uses a connection to Exchange via settings established under OWA (Outlook Web Access). ActiveSync is different than that and so is Blackberry access. Each company can set up ActiveSync differently, so I can't tell you what to configure, but generally you should be able to put in your OWA (Entourage) settings and set up ActiveSync with very minor modifications. For example, your OWA (Entourage) server might be: https://exchange.somecompany.com/owa or similar. It is likely that your IT folks set up ActiveSync access on the same server. In that case, the server entry for the iPhone might be simply: exchange.somecompany.com
Keep in mind that Exchange 2007 has a feature where the email address is used to "find" the server, but if your company is running Exchange 2003, that feature is not available. This is likely confusing some people on how to set things up, too.
OWA (Outlook Web Access), OMA (Outlook Mobile Access) and (EAS) Exchange ActiveSync are all different services. For the iPhone, we will configure for EAS even if all of these products are running on the same server or not.
The other thing that I note in some posts is that people are having issues with certificates. If the company signs their own certificates, then that certificate will need to be installed on the iPhone. If the certificate is purchased from EnTrust, Verisign or other certificate authority (CA), then the iPhone will likely not need the company certificate imported to the device.

Downloads work on LAN, but not WAN

File uploads and downloads work fine on the local network, but from outside the company files can be uploaded but not downloaded. This would seem like a firewall isssue, but to argue it I need to know what protocol and ports are being used.
A complication is that the System Admin didn't want to set up another server for access to the outside, so he used an exitsting server that was already set up. He put Apache proxy on that server and pointed it to the database server. It works alright locally so should work from outside too, but if someone kowns of configuration issues I would be grateful to hear about it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The error is just "Network Timeout -- server taking too long", etc. It takes no more than 10 seconds locally for the download window to appear, so I doubt if the minute or so it takes to timeout on the outside is due to slow response of the server. I've hit the "Try Again" button on the timeout page repeatedly and that hasn't helped. So you think it's all port 80, huh? Since everything works on the local network I'm inclined to think it has to be firewall issue. I guess I'll be talking to the firewall guys next. Thanks for the insight. I appreciate the response.

Works in Tomcat but not in iPlanet Web server

I have a servlet which first generates a form which has one input field, when user fills in the text field and submits the form it is posted to same servlet. The posted data is processed and redirected to another servlet. Everything works fine on Tomcat3.2 but fails to work on iPlanet web server and throws HTTP Error 500.
Can someone help me with this? What might be the problem?

Don't know whey it worked in Tomcat and not in iPlanet, but the reason is because I missed '/' in getRequestDispatcher() methoc

XML (RSS) Spry Dataset File Works in Preview But Not Over Internet

I am trying to build a custom feed reader using the Spry framework in Dreamweaver CS4 and everything seems to go smoothly until I actually host the file (with the accompanying js and css files) and try to view it over the internet
previewing from DW shows everything working the way it should
I feel like I am missing something obvious ... but not sure what

I use a CS4 and both works in preview, but only first works over internet (IE7).
I suspect that 2° has a problem of syntax XML, but work with jQuery.

Airport Express 2nd gen will connect to the internet through LAN but not over wifi?

Interesting issue, I can stream Apple TV connected to the LAN port, send Airplay music to my receiver from my iphone, but cannot access the internet over wifi. So it's not Comcast, it has to be the Airport Express, but not ALL of the Airport Express, just the part that sends the internet signal. Is that even possible? I've restarted reset (hard and soft), re-setup, and unplugged everything 100 times, but to no avail. Any ideas?

I know you already tried a number of resets, but please give the following a try to verify that you can get basic Internet access via a wireless connection to the Express from any of your wireless network clients.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

Director movie work in IE but not in other web browsers

please can someone help me? I have web page which use DCR file. If I open it in Internet Explorer, it show me preloader which preload movie and than lunch. This work good. But if I open same page in every other browsers, I will see just adobe preloader which not preload. I can wait even hours but nothing happens.
Does anyone meet this problem before? I use pluging which work in all browsers. I even try this from other computers. Same problem.

My site works in Composer preview, but not on the web.

I have just created a site w/ composer(through mozilla) and it works when i preview the index.html in the mozilla browser. So I am now using the fetch demo to ftp transfer my files to my domain(www.swansondesignline.com) which i registered through nameroute.com. when i view my page everything works except for my images. yes, they are all .jpeg & .gif....no, there are no spaces in the file names....no, i have not changed the location of these files. any help?

The problem is that when you run the code all together or in two files called from the default.lgf only performs the copy and the IPC adjustment is done only for 2010.ENE and not for the whole year.
