Transport change of names using a program

I am running an SAP defined routine ANALYZE_RSZ_TABLES on the table RSZCOMPDIR and will change the name of some of the duplicated query names. How can I ensure that this change is transported? Thanks

Hi Niten,
Normally the transports would overwrite the existing changes. However you can also specify that the already existing changes needs to be overwitten. After you release the request and use your transport mechanism you would find the options and one of the options is "overwrite". But different clients use different transport mechanism so you may not be using it. Anycase just transport and check in the Target system.

I have use MessageTransformBean in my receiver adapter, but no luck. It was produce an error.

Hi,
You need to go to the Module tab of the Mail adapter receiver communcation channel and give the parameter as Transform.contentDisposition and its value as attachment ( since you needed the output to be sent as an attachment) and give the name of the attachment as you required.

SS2 - Problems Changing to this using the Program ...

Just an annoying little bug, if I change to this channel (42) using the Program button on the remote it quite often greets me with the "Insert Viewing Card" message. However if I key the channel directly using the numbers it works OK every time - anyone else come across this?

Change computer name using partial serial number

I'm starting to learn Powershell and I'm stuck trying to automate a computer name change. The code below works to rename the computer and reboot but I would like to shorten it and I'm not sure how. The serial number is 15 characters which makes the computer
name with the prefix added 18 charactes long. How can I modify it so that it takes the last 10 of the serial number plus the prefix? We are using Powershell 4.
The script changes the name to something like MCT1234567890ABCDE
What I would like is MCT67890ABCDE

The serial number is 15 characters which makes the computer name with the prefix added 18 charactes long.
You might run into problems with this, considering there's a 15 character limit on NetBIOS names:

I have some java classes, which i need to modify. The changes are mechanical, like putting finally block for the methods where there is a try block.

no, you got me wrong. After i add the finally blocks,
i will perform the clean up tasks there. The first
part of adding the finally blocks,i want to perform
using a program.No you really don't want to do this.
a) This will not be easy and in fact will be quite messy.
b) It doesn't gain you anything anyway. As you yourself just noted you will have to put appropriate code in all those blocks anyway.
So give this up and do it manually and for next time you will have learned that you should follow the standards from your project from the start.

Issue in transporting changed material type using ALE-IDOC

Hi All,
I am sending the material master data from one system to another using ALE-IDOC.The issue is that teh material type is not getting sent from one system to another after changing the material type.I mean the changes in material type are not getting updated.I will be indeed thankful if anyone can guide me resolve this issue.

Hi,
Not all the fields that are changed in material master are sent in the Idoc. Material type is one such field.
Create change pointer on some other field ex. net value or material desc. and transfer the material type changes under it.

Trouble changing column name used in calculated column

I have a calculated column in my list. The calculation is based on a column "Status". It worked fine. But I recently had to do some work on the Status column and changed it to Status_OLD and replaced it with a new Status column.
The above mentioned calculated field is now using Status_OLD and thus not working because Status_OLD is no longer in use. I went in the to calculation formula and tried to change it to Status, but Status does not appear in the Insert Column list, nor
does it allow me to just type in Status into the formula without throwing an error. Short of deleting the column and re-creating it, is there something I'm doing wrong or overlooking?

Finally getting back to this issue. I have two columns in my list "Status" and "Status_OLD". "status" is a replacement for the previous one. I have three calculated fields that use that field. I need to change
their calculation to now use "Status" instead of "Status_OLD". When I go to the settings for that column, "status" is not listed in the choice of columns that can be inserted. Just typing it in won't work either.
When I try to make a new cal as a test, "Status" isn't available there either.
I really need to get this fixed as soon as possible now because some of these dates need to be acted upon.

How to change host name or host ip in AIA after installation

we have AIA11.1.1.5.0 and O2C PIP installed.
we need to change host name used in AIA to some different value.
Could you please suggest what all steps are required for this.

1) Make a full backup of your XI 3.1 system (both database and file repository)
2) Change the hostname
3) Create a new SIA with all defaults servers using the CCM. Make sure that you instruct the CMS to use the same database connection as before. I ould advise you to change the default CMS and SIA ports.
4) Run the "Update objects" command in the CCM on the new SIA
5) Stop the old SIA and change the ports for the new SIA and the CMS to the default values (if required)
6) Remove the old SIA in the CCM
7) Go into to the CMC and try to delete any remaining servers from the old SIA.
Please note that after completing the above workflow you have to reconfigure some of the servers' settings again in the CMC

Change DB Name

I am using 10g release 2 on Linux 4.6
I tried to change DB name using nid utility.
nid=target /user/pass@dbname DBNAME=newdbname SETNAME=yes
after this wen i try to start the db am getting error.
database name ' newdbname' in control file is not 'dbname'
foe this sholud i need to change anything in parameter file...????

4.shutdown immediate
ORA-1034 ORACLE Not aviailable
ORA-27101 Shared memory realm does not exist
Linux error:2 file does not exists.
even though db is in mount state.. its cmg like this.. after completion of nid is db shut automatically???
5.If try to start db am getting same error as mentioned in original thread.

The application name is not necessarily uniqueue! Customers may create two applications with same name in different systems/clients and transport them into the same target system/client!
You do the mapping with the query:
CL_FDT_FACTORY=>GET_INSTANCE( )->GET_QUERY()->...
There are two methods. One for mapping ID to name and one for name to ID.
There is also a sample report in package SFDT_DEMO_OBJECTS.

How do I change the name of a folder in the System/Library folder? I need to do it to debug a program that is crashing due to some plugins in the folder.

The program crashing is Sibelius 6 -- music scoring program. I am running OSX 10.7.5.
I changed a playback setting in the program and then it crashed. Sibelius playback device needs to get permissions to use audio plugins and there are some that are, apparently, Sibelius 6 doesn't like. I don't need to use these vat, AU plugins in this program, but I cannot get out of it unless I change the name of the folder Sibelius looks to for those plugins.

How to transport the changes of lsmw "Read display Program" changes to prod

Hi,
i have made some changes in the SAP generated program /1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_READ_<>.
i.e., in step : Read display program
the issue is that i made changes...but the changes are stored in $tmp.
now how to move these changes to Production.
when i assign to any package it is showing an error saying
"/1CADMC/SAP_LSMW_READ_<>cannot be assign to package.move to package starting with "/1CADMC/".

HI,
LSMW cannot be transported from one client to another.
You will have to do IMPORT EXPORT.
Run transaction LSMW:-
Give the Project, Subproject and Object.
From Menu go to Extras->Export Project.
Specify the project name
By default everything in the project will be selected.
If you want to transfer only a single subobject of the whole project then first deselect everything.
Deselection can be done by clicking on the description besides then project name.
After that just select the individual object.
Then press the export button.
It will prompt you to save the lsmw in your local machine.
Save it.
Similarly Import it to the production system.
Please note that your changes in the read program will not be copied via import export.
You will again have to make it in the production system.
Changing the read program is not advisable as the changes will be lost if someone once again regenerates the progrsm.

Change a query variant using a program for APD

Hello everyone,
Some background:
We have a complex reporting based on calculated key figures (CKF). However, the business rules do change over time, and the formulas for CKF get outdated. So the business meaning of CKF remains the same, but the way it gets calculated - changes.
Yesterday CKF "A" = B + C
Today CKF "A" = B + D - F
Since the customer requires reporting for the former periods, maintaining several CKF of the same business meaning but calculated differently for each period becomes a problem.
Instead of having several versions of CKF "A", we decided to use APD, to periodically run the query with valid CKF, save the query results to transactional ods, then move it to another infocube. Now we will have the infocube with figures and dates, and the customer needs to maintain just one CKF "A".
After trying this out we've encountered following issue:
Since the query will run periodically we must use a time period filter (in fact - variable on a time characteristic - APD is not working with filter) to select CKF valid for this month for example.
The query in APD can work with variables only via query variants.
Now, the question is how to change the query variant automatically?
We can not force the customer to create new query variants each month for dozens of reports.
We plan to integrate APD in the process chain (although we haven't check how it works), where the query variant will be changed using a program.
so please advice:
1) is there any function module to change query variants in the background
2) which tables contain the query variant, so we can change it using abap
3) may be you can suggest other options to make it work

This code will always maintain the entry for the variable 'ZDATE_INV' as range from the start of month till current month.
you can modify it store anything yuou want.
Now when creating the variant by clicking the create variant option when running the query.
you have the option in the "selection variable" column here you will find only TVARVC table as option select it and then in "name of variable" use the Z variable you have just created.
This will automatically pick the current value for the variant for that variable.
So anytime the variant is used in any of the scheduling it will pick the inout from here.
make sure that the variable for time interval is of same type as that of the entry in the TVARVC table.
That if it is of type calmonth then TVARVC table should have variable entry of type calmonth.
