Transport hang

Hi All,
Cannot transport CEB transports to CEB system. All the transports are hanging. Kindly check the Tp system logs in STMS for more errors details.
They are many requests awaiting for CEP via CEB. Kindly look into this ASAP
The error message in Tp system logs is:

Try to do tranport from OS level using TP command
Tp ADDTOBUFFER <TR> <SAPSID>
tp IMPORT <TR>|ALL <SAPSID> [options ...]
check out entries from tables TRBAT, TRJOB & TMSTLOCKR . Use SE16 to delete the entries or use sqlplus (delete * from sapr3.TRBAT and delete * from sapr3.TRBAT)
also check if there is <SID>.LOB.* if you anything delete that
also checkout if the TMS job is running or not

Transport hangs

Good day!
Importing transport requests seems to hang in our production server.
We have imported 2 requests and it only shows the truck icon in the status.
I checked out TMSTLOCKR table and saw those requests there. Also TRBAT and
TRJOB tables has entries. Will deleting these entries and importing the request again
solve my problem?
Also, import monitors shows:
Maximum return code: 0000 - tp running
Start of action imp single -> this is the first request
Start of action MOVE NAMETABS -> this is the second request
We already restarted SAP, still the truck icon appears.
Please advice.

If the transport request got hanged and is not continuing further for a long time please follow the below procedure. Some times even the request gets imported, but it still shows in the import queue as still importing with a truck symbol. So, first check whether changes mentioned in the request have affected in the system or not. If changes are reflected in the system then delete the request from the queue
If changes are not reflected in the system then before going to below procedure please check whether the job RDDIMPDP is running in the system or not. If not first execute the job RDDIMPDP from SA38 in 000 client with DDIC login. After that refresh in STMS_IMPORT and check if it gets complete
check how many tp.exe processes are running in the task manager. If there are more than one tp.exe process are running then kill all tp.exe processes.
If only one tp.exe process is running then also kill tp.exe from task manager. Incase of linux check out the PID of tp.exe from u201Ctopu201D command and end the process using command u201Ckill u2013PID
Then go to STMS_IMPORT, select the request which got hanged and we need to delete it from the queue. You can see a truck symbol against the request which got hanged, Request->Delete
After deleting the request from the queue, go to SM30. In the Table/View field give TRBAT, TRJOB, and click on maintain and if you find any entries in the table TRBAT then delete them. If nothing is there then come out.
and add the request again.STMS_IMPORT, Extras->Other Request->Add
after this, the import should get transported. Even though, still if it gets hanged and shows truck symbol as earlier then do the above steps and also check the temp dir if the log is increasing and the background processes are there..!

Transport hangs at phase set version flags

Hi
We suddenly cannot any transport into our PRD system, when we transport a simple transport it stays at the phase set version flags finished with return code 0.
I changed the Kernel and tp R3trans, checked the tmp folder in usr/sap/trans with no luck.
Does anyone have an idea where the problem could be?

Can not transport from DEV to PRD (Hang up)

Hi Experts,
Please help.. I have this problem, was not able to transport from Dev to Prod, it just hang up.. I've read a lot in web how to solve this problem and did the following:
   ==> Stop all TP running in OS level
   ==> Delete all pending job in Import Monitor (with truck logo)
   ==> and the last to be done is to delete the data from table TRBAT, but it took so long to delete the data in that table.. What I've noticed is that the data left in table TRBAT is the transport number wherein user was log-off during transport execution (as in the middle of the process)..
What should be the solution of this problem, as we can not proceed with the transport of our changes made in DEV system, as it just hang up in there.. and I'm also having this problem in deleteing data from TRBAT table.

Hi,
Its well known problem which is discussed many times in many threads.
Did you check TP System Log and TMS Alert of the System ?
Execute RSTPTEST report to check the STMS configuration. Also check the existence/status of RDDIMPDP Background Job.

Imports seem to be hanging how to stop and restart

Hi,
I am workin on transports using transaction code STMS. I submitted the imports many hours ago and it seems that they are hanging or stopped. The Trucks are still in the column status. I do see some objects got imported but some did not.
How can I fix this and restart the import because the Trucks are tere and I can't restart? Or how do I stop the imports or should I just let it continue? It has been hours now.

hi Will,
To change the status of the transport, you can goto STMS -> Import Overview -> select the system -> select your request and after that press Ctrl-F8 (Import Monitor). Under the 'scheduling monitor' you'll see your transport request is in running mode, delete this request.
After you delete go back to previous screen the list of transport request, click on Refresh, you'll see your request will be in 'green' status again. ready for re-import again.
Also check the note Note 71353 - Transports hang during background steps which may apply to your condition. Hope this help you.

Tp hangs on start tp_getprots

Hi All
While importing tp import using STMS the transport hangs.
After doing a little research I found that that the tp creates a RDDDISOL
job (function rddgenbb with variant DIST) and it keeps failing and
creating dumps in the system.
The dump is "MESSAGE_TYPE_X" and comes from the function sdb2fmss after
it calls the mss_get_index_storpars function and it raises an "internal
error exception (2)".
The tp log last row is "start tp_getprots..." and it stays there forever.
Any idea what to do?

Could you please do the following?
1. Please check in transaction SM37 that RDDIMPDP job exist both in client 000 and in the client you want to import the transport. If it does not exist, running RDDNEWPP report should solve the problem.
Please run it as follows:
Check the authorizations of the DDIC user in client 000
and in the client into which you want to import the transport.
Logon to both clients as a DDIC user and execute the RDDNEWPP report
(with transaction SA38 or SE38). If the report does not end with the
following success message:
"PU006 Background job ... was successfully scheduled... in the
client."
then it means that the authorizations of the DDIC user must then be
enhanced in the respective client.
To do this, logon in the respective client under a user that is authorized for user maintenance. Change the authorizations of the DDIC user in user maintenance (Transaction SU01). Give the DDIC user the authorization for scheduling and for starting the    background jobs. We deliver the authorization S_BTCH_ALL and S_BTCH_ADM (depending on the release) for this.
2. Remove tp hanging entries from the Import Monitor
3. Ensure that clogged entries does not exist in TRBAT & TRJOB table
   entries
4. Now remove these transport requests from the Import queue.
5. Check that any *.LOC/ *.LOB as well as files related to this request
   exists in /usr/sap/trans/tmp directory. If exists, Please rename them
6. Check that tp process is not running at the OS level
7. Once the above steps are carried out, Please re-add these requests with the corresponding target clients and import them. It   is SAP's recommendation that imports be done asynchrounously rather than synchronously. By doing this you will be conserving system resources.

9. What are the details in the long text of the message type X dump?

Changes to write optimized DSO containing huge amount of data

Hi Experts,
We have appended two new fields in DSO containg huge amount of data. (new IO are amount and currency)
We are able to make the changes in Development (with DSO containing data). But when we tried to
tranport the changes to our QA system, the transport hangs. The transport triggers a job which
filled-up the logs so we need to kill the job which aborts the transport.
Does anyone of you had the same experience. Do we need to empty the DSO so we can transport
successfully? We really don't want to empty the DSO's as it will take time to load?
Any help?

emptying the dso should not be necessary, not for a normal dso and not for a write optimized DSO.
What are the things in the logs; sort of conversions for all the records?

Opening/closing periods in DEV - good procedure

What's the best way to deal with opening or closing periods in a DEV system? This is a sandpit client in DEV that is normally closed to changes. Should I unlock the client and have the change trigger the creation of a transport, or not bother about forcing the creation of a transport, as it's not going anywhere?

It is surprising that your Dev system is closed to changes. So how do you usually use it if you were to test your development prior to moving it to Q. Do you use the Original dev and copy the Transports to the sandpit?
Regardless.. based on your information.. have your Sandpit client unlocked...Unless there is a wierd but valid reason why it has been locked.. BASIS acts strange at times. CTS should be disabled as well. however it should not pose any issues if the transports hang around.. moroever you would not need to log your changes as they serve the purpose. Hope this helps

Why sometime the STMS is not working??

I want to know why sometimes the transport system (STMS) hang or is not working and I need to delete the entries in TRBAT and kill process in the O.S. Someone knows why this issue happen?

Please check whether the filesystem /usr/sap/trans is properly mounted in all the hosts ( All App. Servers and CI). Please ckeck the RDD* jobs. In case of a transport hang situation ( In this situation you can view so many truck sign in the import buffer), go to Import monitor and kill any transport request having the truck sign for a long time.
The transport hang situation may occur for the following reasons:
1. Filesystem /usr/sap/trans is not properly mounted in All App. Servers and CI
2. RDD* jobs are failing.
3. Kernel patch level is very old
4. Oracle client is not properly upgraded to the latest oracle release of the system

Missing classe to implement How to Web Printing with MS Excel

Hi there,
we're trying to implement the How to paper "Web Printing with MS Excel". This paper comes with transport files to import the needed packages and classes.
Now when I try to import that thing, the transport hangs. Checking the protocol shows that for each class there is the information: "Object ... was not included in this step." Analysis shows that the Z-classes seem to inherit from the standard classes

I have tried use session to get a SMTPTransport instance to use sendMessage ,but still have the same problem.No exception ,No error.
This problem doesn't appear always. It appears sometimes.
I hope get help for someone who has the solution for this problem.

Ok, I think I see the problem:
     props.put("mail.smtp.timeout      ", "1000");
     props.put("mail.smtp.connectiontimeout      ", "1000");
Why do you have spaces at the end of the property names?
Those spaces are not being ignored, which means you've
set the wrong properties.

Unable to Import Transport Request - hanged with Truck icon

Dear SAP Expert,
Our DEV & QAS are on normal domain installation but Production installation is on HA Cluster on Windows.
We have configured the STMS for the CRM landscape system and domain is Development server. While trying to import all the Transport Request, it is getting hanged and showing in import running status (showing Truck icon).
We have checked some possible logs and reviewed the complete STMS configuration, profiles and process and found the BG job RDDIMPDP is not getting scheduled continuously.
The below error is from latest log file u201CSLOG1151.PCRu201D from F:\usr\sap\trans\log (global directory) from Production server for your review

STMS - Error Truck Hangs / Copy File Between Transport Groups

I am facing an error trying to import an order.
I executed job RDDNEWPP now is status released. Issue persists.
Servers are installed Local and SO is Windows Server.

i have create the document lines table through dot net code ,after creating tables user defined field management set up hanged .if it is possible the re solution please tell me.

You need to create the table using the SDK...if not the User defined field manangement setup cannot open it table will be inconsistant constraint with the table...
For adding the table through SDK check the SDK Help...

If your import (all) is stuck you most likely will have to clean it up if it does not do anything anymore.
You should check the date/time stamps of the files contained in the tmp directory of the trans directory of your SAP system.
Do you still see the import running according to the import monitor ?
Do you see entries (besides a header entry) in tables TRBAT and TRJOB ?
Do you still see a process "tp" running on your server ?
Does a lock file exist in tmp directory of the trans directory of your SAP system ?
