Transport of maintenance view

hello all,
I changed a strucuture of z-table and generate a new maintanence view for new structure. I did it so:
1. SE11 add new fields,
2. SE11 save
3. SE11 activate
4.Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator.
5. Change (F7), as change reason I selected new field/sec. table in structure
I become a message: request completed without errors.
6. I go back to SE11 an choosed Utilities->create entries. There I can see new fields an I can maintain they.
Then I transported this table to Q-system.
And now my Problem:
I can see a new table structure in Q-system but a cann't maintenance this table.
In SM30 I become an old maintenance view that has only old fields.... Unfortunatly I am not allowed to use SM54 to generate a new maintenance view...
What can I do in this situation? How I can maintain table in Q-System?
thank you in advance
Anna

Hello  ,
what  i said  in  my last answer is    do  it  in the development system   , so that you change   save  it  in you   development  request   and transport it  .
you need  not to  create  in the Testing  or   Production   servers.
once  again   , i am  telling   , please   check your  table   in the se11   (development  system from where you can  do all  )   , there   in    tabstrips
1.attibutes
2. <b>delivery and maintain</b>   please   see  in this tab  in the second  parameter   dropdown    pick the  option   <b>Display/maintain allowed</b>
3. fields
4.entry/check .etc
and   for   table generation   create  one   function  group    it is  enough  , i think  that  you would have already  did it  .
after this    transport the   request   ,  and check  in testing   server the   table   will  have   maintain view   .  see it  in the  SE16   OR  IN  SM30 .

  • Maintenance View Function group transport,

    Dear all,
I've made some change on the screen related to my Z maintenance view in dev. It did not requested for a transport order. Therefore I am wondering if there would be any way to transport the whole Maintenance view without having to re create it.
    Regards.

    Hi Nikhil,
I've tried using as u said the Transport Organizer from se80 but how can I add all object related to my maintenance view to the transport order from here. I tried with Include object then freely selected object but I 'm not sure which object to chose to make the list complete (function groups / tables...)

  • Table Maintenance View Transport Request

    Hello everybody,
I need to use the table maintenance view for a customizing table without prompting for transport request is there a way to do this????, the customizing table is a Z table, the table was defined before like this because of the data in it, thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Julio Cesar

    Hi Julio,
Sure: use SE11 for the Z-table, in menu Utilities->Table Maintenance generator and switch off the recording routine option.

  • Using user-defined transport recording routine with table maintenance view?

    Hi,
I have  a table that is maintained through a maintenance view. I need to record the changes to a dedicated transport object (not TABU) with my own recording routine instead of teh standard recording routine.Could someone tell me which/how the events can be used to achieve this?
    Regards
    Rachana

    Hi Rajeev,
I have changed TMG to choose the option - User defined routine. And I have created a new transport object in SOBJ for the table. Is this enough to record the object to the transport as the object i defined instead of TABU? Do I need to write some subroutine for any view event to achieve this? Do you mean to use the menu option to include the object to a request?
I have a bigger problem where this view is actually part of a view cluster. Even in that case is teh above steps enough?

  • Unable to edit maintenance view in SM30

    hi everyone.
need your help, I have one custom table, let's call it YTAB.  This table has several maintenance views created for it, depending on company code.  For YTAB, i have created a maintenance view YTABX.
When we moved YTABX to PRD, we cannot edit it in SM30.  The user ID has the right authorization.  The error message is "client 100 not modifiable".  When I try to edit the mother table YTAB in PRD, I am able to go in and do the changes.
I have already compared the settings for YTABX with the other existing views, they are the same.  My settings for the view are:
Access: Read, change, delete & insert
    Delivery Class: C
In the table maintenance generator, i have a 2-step maintenance type, recording routine is Standard recording routine and compare flag is automatically adjustable.
Attributes for table YTAB also has delivery class C, table category is transparent table, table maintenance is allowed.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello roch,
the direction in which mark points is right but i think you should get some more information on the principles of table types and sap system landscape.
Usually you should not be able to directly maintain any table. This is not only bad style but also a huge risk for the system consistency. That's why application data is always maintained via some kind of application which ensures that the data is vilidated before it is stored.
Customizing data should only be maintained within a development system and then transported through the landscape. To maintain these table you can use generated views, customer developed maintenance views, view clusters which all include automatical link to the transport system. If you would maintain these tables directly in the productiion system it would have another configuration than the development and the quality/test system which makes them more or less useless as you can no longer make any serious test if the server configurations differ.
To prohibit changes of customizing tables on production and test servers the admins lock the systems which results in the message you got. This setting is made in TCODE SCC4. Even if you have for any reason the authorization to use this transaction you should in no case change these settings without approval of basis / system owner.
    Kind Regards

  • Maintenance view settings

Good morning.  I created a maintenance view for one of our custom tables, and we're having some problems with it.  The table was originally set under "Delivery and Maintenance" as delivery class C (customizing table), with "Display/Maintenance Allowed".  The maintenance view works just fine in our development client.  So we transported the view to our quality client.  But when we tried to access the view there via transaction SM31, we got the message "Client 215 has status 'not modifiable'".  We were told by our security personnel that this was because we had the table as delivery class C.  So we changed it to delivery class A.  But we are still getting the same message.
In table T000, our quality clients have the setting "No changes to repository and cross-client customizing objects".  Is this what is causing the error message?  Or is there some other setting that either security or basis needs to change?  Thanks for your help.
    - April King

Is your table cross-client (meaning does it have MANDT as a key field or not)? If it is client-independent (no MANDT key field), then you cannot maintain them in quality or production environments. Quality and production systems are set to be 'not modifiable', that is not the fault.
If you have your table set as 'C', you should then maintain it in your development environment always which will automatically force you to create a transport request. You will always maintain the data in development and move it using transports.

  • Maintenance view entries asking for Tr. request

    Hi ,
I have created a Maintenance view for a table.
While creating entries through view it is asking for
    transport request.
How can I get rid of this prompt for transport request ?
    Thanks,
    Sandip.

    Hi sandip,
    1. Thats bcos in se11,
       the DELIVERY CLASS
for this table must be C
      (customizing table)
    2. Make it to A (applicatkion table)
      save, and activate the table,
and once again, create table maintenance.

  • Maintenance View

    Hi experts,
How can I check if a Z table have a maintenance view and if not have one how can I transport it?
    Thanks for the help!

    Hi,
Go to SM30, enter the table name and see. If there is a table maintenance created, you will see that. Else you will have to create it.
Here are the steps for how to create table maintenance -

  • Table maintenance view problem

Hi. I'm trying to generate a table maintenance view for a custom table, and I keep getting an error message.  I go into the table maintenance view generator and fill out the fields.  I'm selecting a function group that has ZHR0 as the development class (which is correct).  Then when I click on the create button a screen pops up with the workbench request number.  When I click on the continue button, I get the following error message: "The maintenance object description has no transportable class." If I click for more information, this is what it says to do: "Either assign the maintenance object description for object ZTS_ADJST_REAS to acorrectable development class, or assign the table forthe generation of the maintenance module to a function group with non-correctable development classes."  Apparently the maintenance object description somehow got assigned to temporary class $TMP.  Where do I go to change this?
    Thanks,
      April King

    Hi April,
You can use standard program <b>RSWBO052</b> to change the package. Enter the object and mark the checkbox -> Execute -> Place the cursor in the object -> Right click mouse -> Reassign -> Enter new package -> Save.
or you can go to transaction SE80 -> Select Package -> Enter &TMP -> Hit Enter -> Find your object -> put the cursor and right click -> Other functions -> Object Directory Entry -> Change -> Change the package -> Save.
    Hope this will help.

  • Table Maintenance View Generator - 46C to 60 compatibility

Table Maintenance View Generator - 46C to 60 compatibility
I think SAP changed the way it generated its View Maintenance Screens some time after release 46C such that view maintenance dialogs in 46C are maintainable in subsequent releases but that view dialogs created in subsequent releases are not compatible in 46C.  <u>This is my hypothesis.</u>
<b>Can someone confirm?  Is there a way to revert 60 code to the way the dialog was generated in 46C?</b>
The error in the transport log from a 60 system to a 46C system is:

  • Maintenance View Property

    Hello Experts,
We have a requirement wherein the productive client is locked for customizing (through SCC4 transaction) and the client-dependent customizings are transported from the dev client through the transport requests.
But the maint. view in our case is editable in the client which is locked for customizing.
Is there any settings in the maintenance view that should be made such that the property of the client is taken into consideration?
    Best Regards
    Seshadri

If you have created a transport on the system that allows the modification, then just copy it into your system that does not.  We do that a lot here.  Our configuration and development boxes are two different boxes.  We move the config to the client where the data is located.
No need to release the transport:
SCC1, enter in your source and transport request, and start the job.
    Hopefully that works for you!

  • Maintenance view problem

    Dear gurus
I have generated a table and created a maintenance view for that table.
created a function group and assign that group to maintenance view of that table
create a transaction from se93 calling SM30 with table name and update stats X
    its working on development server
but when i transport it to 800 server it says that PRD server is not modifiable
i have done the same process on another table but its working not in this table
where i have gone wrong ?
    Regards
    Saad Nisar.

    Hi Saad Nisar,
In the table delivery and maintenance tab, change the 'delivery class' from C (Customizing table, maintenance only by cust., not SAP import) to A (Application table (master and transaction data)). This will take care of Your issue...

  • Maintenance view error

    Hi All,
    I am facing a weird  issue: -
There is a view /asgws/scr_v001 (a z view in custom namespace). This view is transported from system G1 to G2.
G1 system is SAP4.7 and G2 system is SAP ECC6.0.
Now maintenance view for this view is maintained and generated successfully. It is working fine in G1 system.
But in G2 system when i try to see its contents through Se11, it shows "No database view exists for the view /asgws/scr_v001".
I have seen other threads also and found relevant solutions : -
    1) View Type: It is C in both the cases, so no problem with that
    2) Table maintenance allowed or not: It is 'Table display/maintenance allowed with restrictions' in both the systems G1 and G2.
However, I could see one difference while comparing the tables in both systems.
Database entry  Dd02L-Mainflag is 'X' in G1 system where it is working fine.
Database entry DD02L-mainflag is  ' ' in G2 system where it is not working.
As per my understanding this is because table maintenance is not allowed in this case. but again there are no differences in both the systems.
Also Is compare flag related to this in anyways. Though i could not find any reelvance just confirming because so far no clues of why things are going wrong ??
Request you to please help me sorting this issue.
Thanks in advance for your valuable time and inputs.

    Hello,
You really need to pay attention when transporting objects especially dictionary objects between different releases of SAP.
Technically the import will succeed most of the time, but generation errors can happen, certain functionalities may no longer work, table data can be truncated, etc ...
I never transport view definitions from a lower release towards an ECC 6.0 system (Netweaver 7.0).
In Netweaver 7.0 SAP has built in new features for dictionary objects like views, tables, etc.
This is why most of the DD0** tables in Netweaver 7.0 contain extra fields and extra field values.
These new field values can never be transported from a lower release because they don't exist there !
A good starting point is the composite OSS-note:
SAP Note 1090842 Composite note: Transport across several releases

  • Maintenance view- package in another system

    Hello all!
I'm trying to create a maintenance view for a Z table, but i can not do it because i get an error message that says: "The original of the table development class YMMI is in DEV". YMMI is the package, but DEV is not the development system of this client, but the one of another client, where data comes from (i think there was a kind of transport). In table attributes, it says: Package: YMMI, but i am not allowed to change this. SAP version  is 4.6 C.
To do this, i go to se11, enter table name, then modify, and then utilities--> table maintenance genarator.
(This version doesn't have the part Delivery and maintenance). The same occurs when entering from SE54.
    Please give me an idea!!
    Thank you!

    Hey maitas,
You check the Display and Maintenance table whethere is the is maintainable or Maintenace Not allowed. If the option is Display/Maintenance Display/Maintenance Allowed with Restrictions or you can create the maintenance view otherwise you cannot create.

    Hi,
to handle GuiXT central in SAP: use transaction SHD0. There is also an online help for further information.
in SHD0 transaction variants are defined: alternative tcodes, where normally fields are hidden and default values are assigned.
Enter standard tcode in field TCODE, enter z-tcode in field TCVARIANT and create just something for playing...
In upper part you will find flag GiuXT-Script and in upper part is 'i'-button for help in using this transaction (this blue-i-help-button is also in starting screen, docu is implemented like SPRO-docu).
Approach with SHD0 ensures transportation of scripts and automated download to local Guis - so some help to handle bigger installations.
