Traveling to Australia and I want a complete commu...

I will be traveling in Australia for a month from the USA and I would like the most economical way to communicate back to the US with customers, employees, and family.
I will have a laptop and an iPhone 5S with me.
I would like for customers to be able to call my USA cell number and leave voice messages that I can retrieve while in Australia.  It seems that this can be done if I buy a skype number and forward my cell number to the Skype number.
I would also like to be able to make calls from my cell phone or laptop to cell numbers and landlines in the USA.  It seems that this can be done with a subscription.
And, since one of my crew leaders is deaf, I would like to be able to send and receive text messages.  I'm not sure what I need for this.
Also, I can't find if there are any additional costs for phone calls.  Is there a cost per minute for calls made to my cell phone from the USA while I'm in Australia if I forward my current cell number to a Skype number?
Is there a cost per minute for cell calls made from Australia back to the USA?
Or, are these 'per minute' costs covered by a subscription.

I posted this question 3 weeks ago, and have not gotten any replies.  Does anyone know if a phone number I could call to speak to someone at Skype who could answer my questions?

  • I am traveling to Australia and want to know what I need, in the form of converters/adapters to be able to safely recharge.

I am traveling to Australia and need to know what I need, converter, adapter, etc. to safely charge?

Apple power supplies (bricks) work on all voltages and frequencies in the world, so it doesn't matter where you come from or where you go to ......
You will need an adaptor to make the wall plug provided fit in the Australian sockets, buy that at the airport when you get there.
    That's it

  • My phone is locked and I'm traveling for studies and I want to unlock it so I want to know if there is a way I can unlock my phone

My phone is locked and I'm traveling for studies and I want to unlock it so I want to know if there is a way I can unlock my phone

Only your carrier can unlock a phone, if they even allow that.  The two major carriers in the US, for example, do not unlock iphones under any circumstances.  If not in the US, visit your carrier (or call them up) to find out what their policy is.

  • HT204411 if im flying to australia and i want to watch a movie from itunes is it better to buy or rent?

If I'm flying overseas and I want to watch a movie on my Ipad is it better to buy or rent?

You can pause it as many times as you want. You can also replay it if within the allowed time period
How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library

When the iPhone officially comes out in Australia, you'll need to buy an Australian iPhone to get the updates.

  • My iPhone 5 was stolen and I want to completely destroy it

Yesterday, a guy stolen my iPhone 5 64GB on the street. I've called my carrier and I deactivated the chip, I've already erased it, but on iCloud it says the iPhone haven't been connected to the internet yet. I have no hope on getting it back, so I want to destroy it so everyone that buys won't be able to use the iPhone. Is there anyway to destroy it? Or at least making it less useful.
by the way, sorry about my english if I made any mistake, I'm brazilian.

No. Activation Lock will still reguire your Apple ID and password.
It is worthless to the thief.

  • I own a Mi Traveler Andriod Tablet and I want to install your product on to it. Is it considered a mobile device?

I need help with installing your product.

It appears that the Mi Traveler only has 256MB of RAM, while Firefox requires 512. I can't find out what processor it has to tell you if that is compatible or not. You can try installing Firefox using the link above, but I doubt it will work.

  • HT6119 I live in Australia and I want to buy books written in Spanish. Why can't I find any at the iBook store?

Is it a way to buy books in other languages?

You can only buy the books that are available in your country's ibookstore. If there are particular ibooks that you would like to buy in Spanish then you can try requesting that they be added, but unless the publisher/rights-holder for Australia agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell them there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

I am in Australia and I want to buy a replacement RemoteTalk cable for my Beats headphones.
previously I could buy these from the Beats store and have them shipped to Australia. Now I can only buy them from the Apple Store.
However, they are only stocked on the Apple US store and not on the Apple Aus store.
The Apple US store does not ship to Australia.
So how do I get an authentic replacement cable?

  • I moved from Canada to Australia and don't want to blow my iMac up

So I moved from Canada to Australia and dont want to blow the thing up when I turn it on. I'm wondering if I need to get a whole new power cord (different voltages etc) or i can just use an adapter? I'm not really keen on using an adapter though..
    It's a 2011 iMac 27"
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
    Katie

2011 iMacs are suitable for power of 100V to 140V, 50hz to 60hz power. So you won't fry the system. You can either use a wall adapter for your plug or buy a new Australia-specific power cord from a local Apple dealer (find one at http://www.apple.com/au/retail) or an Apple Authorized Service Provider at http://www.apple.com/au/service/.  Or try Apple Australia Online at 133 622

  • Traveling to Australia

I will be traveling to Australia next month... wanting to call skype to skype back to United States.  Does skype work in Australia and will there be a fee for these calls?

I will be traveling to Australia and would like to call various United States landline and mobile numbers from Skype. My question is which service plan would I need to purchase: Unlimited U.S. and Canada or Unlimited Australia? The site doesn't clearly specify which plan calls which country.

  • Does iTunes match need to locate the actual files or just see its record in your library database? I am currently traveling in US and I have US and Australian iTunes accounts. But all my music files are on a hard drive in Australia.

Does iTunes match need to locate the actual files or just see its record in your library database? I am currently traveling in US and I have US and Australian iTunes accounts. But all my music files are on a hard drive in Australia. Can I start using itunes music match while I am travelling without the actual music files attached to my itunes?

In your situation I strongly recommend you read over that KB article. The international iTunes Stores are not cross-compatible.
My understanding of how it would work is that when activating iTunes Match on your US Store account, any songs you have in your iTunes Library that were purchased from the AUS Store account will NOT be matched. As I understand it, those files will be uploaded (which means you need the files on a local HDD). I also do not think it is possible to have iTunes Match active on more than one store ID on the same computer. But since iTunes Match is not available internationally yet, that point is moot for the moment.
To be honest you might want to wait until the service is available internationally so you can guage how will it will serve you.
