Traversing between dependent schemas-- using Navigation in OER

Hi All,
I would like to know , how to traverse between dependent schemas using NAVIGATION in OER.
For ex: OrderManagement has a PDF, WSDL,XSD,.doc
when we search for OrderManagement and would like to see dependent file and traverse between those files .. IS IT POSSIBLE?
in xml spy we are able to traverse between dependent types of message. Similarly is it possible in OER.
If non technical person is looking for dependencies.. of OrderManagement Service how they can see that.

I would have used database views as the abstraction layer rather than synonyms. The advantage would be that for views you can see the dependencies, for synonyms not that easy as they are just textual replacements inside Oracle.

Jst to add up with an example :
Say you have a cost center variance analysis report with cost elements in the filter. ( not present in the default report result )
Filter - You can right click on a particular cost center & say " Keep Filter Value " - it will result in only showing that cost center & you can wish to select other filter value doing " Select Filter Value ".
Drill Down - If u wish to see the cost elements associated with cost centers you can right click on Cost Center & do " Drill Down To - Cost Element " or Drill Across.

How can i traverse between files in a directory

how can i traverse between files in a directory. I ahve seen in the site that isFile can be used to switch from one file to other but i didn't found such method. I am working in Eclipse. I would be thankful if u send me the solution.I mean the way to traverse

listFiles() returns all the files in a directory. You can check if it is a file and read it. Read the API docs.
If you have specific problem with your code, post the code and the problem description.

Different ways to copy data between two schemas in one instance

Hi there,
I am searching a good way to copy data between two schemas in the same instance.
Both schemas have an identical structure such as triggers, tables, views and so on. The only difference is the purpose: one is the productivity system and one is for development.
I looked at datapump but I do not explicit want to export / import. I want to keep the data in the productivity schema as well as copy it to the other schema. Any ideas? I found out there is a copy statement but I dont't know how that works.

I also thought of creating a second instance for development and move the dev - schema to it. I just don't know whether our server can handle both (performance?). Anyway the idea is to have a possibility to quickly rebuild the data inside a schema without indixes or triggers, just pure data. I thought the easiest way would be to copy the data between the schemas as they are exactly the same. However if you tell me DataPunp is the best solution i won't deny using it :).
When you export data a file is created. does that also mean that the exported data is deleted inside the schema?

Roles:
I think of creating roles in the database to group users of like
function. Roles are granted certain permissions in the database. You
should become familiar with the fixed database roles since these will be
utilized once you start creating users within the database. Also, once
you see the type of permissions that are granted to each role, is makes
more sense.
Schema: there can be several schemas in a database,
which will house different types of objects such as tables, indexes,
stored procedures, functions, etc. Users own schemas. Looking into
the AdventureWorks database illustrates this concept, with several
schemas like HR, Production, etc.
Login: Think about login as
gaining access to the SQL Server instance. If a user account is not
granted any permissions within the instance, you basically just were
able to unlock the door and enter the room, by creating a user you then
grant access to the database objects or principals, and can begin to
work with them.
Users: Users own schemas, and as such will be
able to manipulate the objects they own. Some of the manunipulations
are very permissive, such as creating tables, indexes, stored
procedures, functions, etc. These are developers and administrators.
Users
are created and granted permissions for application use, which will
have select, update, insert, and delete and execute permissions to a
finite set of objects in the schema, for which the application will need
to function properly.
In a client server database, as an
example, of the structure. Roles were defined which provides the
permissions to the database objects in the database, which only has one
schema 'dbo'. One SQL server login was created with the same username,
and dbo is the assigned default schema, and the roles assigned to that
username.
In the application, each specific user is given there own
"application" login which is mapped to the one defined sql server
login.

Problem in filtering when we use navigation link

Hi all BI Gurus,
I am having one problem can anyone please help me to come out of it.
Here is my problem,
I created two reports. The first one gives you basic idea and the second one give you more detail related to first report.
e.g.
First Report is displaying which type of part is manufacturing in which location.
Like
     Code     -     Location     -     Product Name
     101     -     USA           -           Laptop
     102     -     China           -           Camcorder
     103     -     China           -           Walkman
     102     -     Japan           -           Camcorder
     105     -     Japan           -           Speaker
Now in this report I am having link to my second report on Code column. For this I am using navigation link which will display my second report which will provide more details regarding the selected product. i.g if I click on first 102 then my second report should display details for Camcorder with location China only not for both China and Japan.
I prepared both reports, added that navigation link in first report and in my second report I added filter on Code, Location and Product Name as ‘Is Prompted’
I am running these reports and click on code first 102, my second report is displaying record for both China and Japan. Means it is filtering only code value not other values which are in same row.
Could any one please help me in my problem?

as we can see here the relation is not unique between code - location
Code - Location - Product Name
101 - USA - Laptop
102 - China - Camcorder
103 - China - Walkman
102 - Japan - Camcorder
105 - Japan - Speaker
meaning that code 102 is not unique for location(it address China and Usa),so you have 2 solutions....
So, add a extra column which will be unique describe all the 3 columns,so in order to pass that value to the 2 report.
Now,either you have one...either you have to make one at your etl(let's say add 2 existing columns code + location).

Db is better(you can use it and in other situations and is more good in performance)
Programming is in your hand.(by clicking on something you must assign to 'session' of Bi the values you want to be filteted at the 2.

How to register a schema use a .xsd file which has lots of includes schema

Hello, All,
Does someone have the experience to register a schema use a .xsd file which contains several tags like <xs:include schemaLocation="../dt/somedatatypes.xsd"/>?
I tried both the OEM and command line dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema(), although the whole file structure already in the repository, seems like Oracle can't automatically search and find the includes and register it. should I register those includes first? the actual error I got is "ORA-31000: Resource '../dt/somedatatypes.xsd' is not an XDB schema document.ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA_INT", line 0 ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA", line 26 ORA-06512: at line 2" .
Any suggestion? thanks in advance...

We do not (currently) support relative references in included XML Schemas.
In order to use an include or import the target Schema must first be registered with XML DB under some known location. The schemaLocation argument needs to the 'Docuemnt Location Hint', or URL, that was passed to registerSchema when the included schema was registered.
If you have cyclic dependancies between schemas you can use the force option of registerSchema to register the first Schema. This will then allow registration of the second schema to succeed. Once the second schema has been successfully registed the first schema must be explicitiy recompiled using dbms_xmlschema.compileSchema().

Not able to do transformation between two schemas

I have this two very similar schemas, I tried to do a transform activity between them. I kept getting error says 'Failed to save XSL Map, Make sure XSL Map is valid'. I am not even able to map a single element.
This two schemas are generated from 'Define Native Format schema' using the same sample file. most of elements have same name and type in both files.

Traversing between JSP Pages

Hi!,
I need a suggestion to this problem that i'm facing.I want to traverse between JSP pages which follow like a wizard.i.e,i click next to go to the next page & back to traverse back to the previous page.I have some text fields in the previous page that contain some info.When i click on Next it goes to the next page.when i click on Previous i want to be able to view the input contents in the previous page.I tried using < a href="">
but it blanks all the fields ....

Use theseus mvc framework. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/theseus-mvc). It will teach you to properly and cleanly right web sites the way they should be, where JSP pages server only as a "view", the action class (servlet hybrid so to speak) handles passing form data to logic, logic returns to action class that then populate the request that is passed on to the JSP page to make use, especially if you use a JavaBean or taglib.

Use navigation model and runtime created pages

Hi,
I have my Portal Application created in JDeveloper, with set of base pages. Pages are stored in default-navigation-model, so I could use i18n in navigation rendering. I'd also like to use runtime pages management. When I enter admin panel, I can add new pages, change order of pages created in jdeveloper, or show/hide them. However those changes are not reflected in the portal, navigation always looks the same, still displays pages I've marked as hidden - is navigation cached somewhere?
If I create new page in admin panel, it isn't displayed in navigation too. However I could click on this page title in admin panel, go to this page and edit its content - of course even then page is not displayed in the meny, none of menu items is marked a highlited.
What am I doing wrong? I followed Yannick's tutorial http://www.yonaweb.be/webcenter_tutorial/closer_look_at_navigation_model and switched from page hierarchy to navigation model. Maybe this is the reason?

I got back to your tutorial and haven't found a place where it'd be explained directly. Maybe "between the lines", but as for Webcenter newbie I haven't notice it.
I switched back to pages hierarchy. I was using navigation model to achieve i18n in navigation, however I also had problems about that, and as you suggested me once in another thread I changed page titles to PortalBundle keys and rendered values from bundles manually.
Therefore now comes the second question in this area - is it possible to use page hierarchy, runtime crated pages and still localize page titles?
P.S. As an experienced Liferay Portal developer, I really try to see any benefits of Webcenter in building custom portals area and still I can hardly find any... ;)

DBlink between two schema on the same database.

I am facing a troublesome situation here regarding a database link. Usually I create my db links between two databases hosted on two different servers but in this current situation, am in short of machines. The database informations are contained in two different schema that were suppoded to be imported on two different databases(servers). As only one machine is available,I would like to know given the situation, whether I can create two schemas on the same database and link both schema using a database link. Is it possible? If yes, how do I achieve that?

2x1 Alamouti scheme using 3 USRP units

Hello everyone.
I'm trying to implement 2x1 Alamouti scheme using 3 USRP 2920 radios, two as transmitters and one a a receiver.
I've been facing some questions I'll be glad if you could answer:
1. How can I keep all 3 devices synchronized? 2 of them are connected with a MIMO cable, but the third isn't. should I use the connected pair as my two transmitters?
2. is it possible to use a preamble for syncronization and chaneel estimation without a MIMO cable? by that I mean, is there a way to make a usrp detect a training sequence and start the receiving process only after the training sequence?
3. how can I reduce the impact of phase shift? from what I've been informed, if a pair is connected with a MIMO cable, there should not be a shift in the phase, but when i'm trying to transmit and receive a signal with 2 USRPs connected with a MIMO cable, I still get a shifted signal(I added an illustration).

1) Yes, connecting the two transmitters using the MIMO cable will be best. These channels need to be tightly synchronized. You could also share an external reference clock and PPS signal between all devices, if you have those available. Otherwise, the receiver channel may have some frequency offset and won't sample at exactly the same time, but you can correct for that in your receiver code.
2) Yes, but you'll have to start streaming samples to the host and detect the preamble in your receiver code on the host computer.
3) You will have to detect the frequency offset and shift the frequency of your received signal in software. There are many algorithms to do both. You may want to see some of the community examples posted here:

User accounts are then given to actual humans who connect with their own accounts. The accounts have the necessary system and object privileges granted to them - via a role. One could also create a special account (let's call it APP_ADMIN) that is used for maintenance and batch operations within the application.

Can anyone explain to me what is the difference between target schema and target user? examples will be more welcome then theoratical explanation.

In Oracle database schema and user is the same things (if you use general authentication by database).
When used external authentication (for example with Windows domains/active directory) schema is a owner of database objects group and you should specify mapping between external usernames and schema to which this user has access when connects to database.
For example:
- windows domain user CORPDOMAIN\USER1 can connect to oracle database schema SCOTT;
- windows domain user CORPDOMAIN\USER2 can connect to oracle database schema SCOTT;
- windows domain user CORPDOMAIN\ADMIN can connect to oracle database schema SYSTEM;
