Tree initial state - open node (WD for Java)
Hello,
I have a WebDynpro tree, which I am populating with all the data upfront before displaying it. However, for some reason, when the tree comes up, it is always open, selecting the first leaf (node without children) of the tree.
When navigating away from this view and back, the all nodes are closed.
Anyone know why this is the case, or what settings I must change? I am setting the expanded property correctly on all nodes.
Thanks,
Martin
Martin,
Tree is always follows lead selection of corresponding node. So first part of your problem can be resolved via setting initializeLeadSelection=false for nodes involved.
Next thing that affects behavior is "expanded" property of Tree UI controls. If bound to boolean attrubte, expand/collapse state of Tree can be controlled programatically. Try this if removing lead selection does not solve your second problem.

How to implement node affinity for java type concurrent programs.
How to run a concurrent program against a specific RAC instance with PCP/RAC setup? (Doc ID 1129203.1)
This works for non java registered concurrent programs but not java registered with use the DBC file
EBS RAC environment with two RAC nodes. We would like to implement node affinity to allow concurrent programs to be directed to a single RAC instance. Oracle have provided the NODE AFFINITY ability via the concurrent program definition in Session Control. This then uses the entry in the 10.1.2 tnsnames.ora to pass the request directly through to the instance as defined by Node Affinity.
However, concurrent programs defined as type java do not access the database by the 10.1.2 tnsnames.ora but use the dbc file under $FND_SECURE. This file is configured for both self service and concurrent processing so any change to the dbc file entry will affect both self service and concurrent processing.
How to we implement a node affinity solution for concurrent programs without affecting Self Service conncetions? We'd like the dbc file to directly connect java concurrernt programs through to one instance but the self service connections to use the SERVICE name only.
Regards.
philippe.Did you think about Online/Batch node concept ? By that way you can seggrecate application connection.

File open using Webdynpro for java
Hi,
I have a file "SAP.JPEG" in remote machine location "
SAP\NetWeaver\WebDynpro".
In my webdynpro application...I have a button and the action "OpenFile"...
My question is on click of the button, how can I open the file "SAP.JPEG".
Please advice me how to proceed with this.
Rgds,
PatanaHi,
it is possible to access the file from the remote system using webdynpro java. your requirements is quite possible.
the prerequisites are:
the SAP WebAS Server and the remote system are in the same network, and the folder (in your case "SAP") is shared folder with access permissions.
let us assume your remote system name is remSys09.
add an ui element image in the layout. and create an attribute named "image " bind it to the property source
use this below code to show the image.
try {
File f =new File("////remSys09//SAP//NetWeaver//WebDynpro//SAP.JPEG");
BufferedInputStream bis= new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(f));
byte[] image = new byte[bis.available()];
bis.read(image);
IWDWebResource webResource = WDWebResource.getWebResource(
image,
WDWebResourceType.JPG_IMAGE);
wdContext.currentContextElement().setImage(webResource.getURL());
} catch (Exception e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
e.printStackTrace();

Open Document Format - No library for Java???
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a library that let's me access Open Document Files, like *.ods.
There SHOULD BE something like that...
Does anybody of you know anything?
Greetz
SaschaOn the OpenOffice.org site, look under projects, and there's an Open Document Toolkit for Java. I've no idea of its status though.

How about the Open Inventor for Java?
Because the project needs NURBS,so we try to use this product from TGS.
But we found it's not good for Java project finally (not support Swing,Serialize...).
We will greatly appreciate your help for choosing a good Java 3D Lib which support NURBS.
Any advice is welcome.
Thank you very much!But we found it's not good for Java project finally
(not support Swing,Serialize...).I am a bit surprised, as I believe that the current version of Open Inventor for Java
do support Swing with not more restriction than Java3D.
Also Open Inventor has a scene graph serialization mecanism (file or buffer)
that might fit your needs.
Moreover, robust support for NURBS is not that common, so if you are looking
for an industry-strength toolkit, Open Inventor remains an excellent option, at least.
A number of 3D projects have been made possible with Java thanks to Open Inventor.
Well I must say that I am a bit biased, having been supporting Open Inventor
for years :-). May I suggest you to contact TGS hotline ([email protected])
to give more details about your requirements or complains, as Open Inventor
5 for Java is in preparation ?

Visual Age for Java 3.0 and EJBs
Michael,
We are also seeing problems with EJB development using the VAJ integration kit
for Weblogic 4.5.1 and Visual Age Java 3.0.2. The rest of the integration,
JSPs, Servlets, etc. appear to work just fine using the 4.5.1 integration kit
and Visual Age Java 3.0.2. However, with EJBs we are finding the deployment
tools to break into the VAJ debugger.
Comments (all welcome)

Tree table-initially expand all nodes raises error when closing a node 11g
Hello,
Frank Nimphius posted a blog entry about how to initially display all the nodes in a tree or table here:
[http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2007/12/19/adf-faces-rc-initially-expanding-all-nodes-in-a-tree-or-tree-table/|http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2007/12/19/adf-faces-rc-initially-expanding-all-nodes-in-a-tree-or-tree-table/]
This works very well. However, when the user tries to close a node, a NullPointerException is thrown.
Below is the stacktrace.
Does anyone know how to work around that issue?

I have a Master-Detail-Detail setup.
In the Grandparent I have this :
RowKeySet rks = new RowKeySet(true);
table1.setDisclosureState(rks);
this.grandParentTable = table1;
and in my Parent table I have this :
RowKeySet rks = new RowKeySet(true);
table2.setDisclosureState(rks);
this.parentTable = table2;
ie the same.
In my child I have nothing just the default accessors.
The collapse works OK for the Grandparent but when I click Hide for the Parent it does not do anything - no error message either.

How to expand all the nodes in a tree while loading the tree initially
Hi All
Now i am able to display the tree strucute in webdynpro.
but it is displaying the tree initially in collapsed mode until/unless we click on the node root it will be expanded.
but my requirement is i wanted to display the tree in expanded mode by default at runtime initially.
can you please provide any setting to be done or any sample code on the same then it would be great help to me.??
Thanks
TrishaHi,
isLeaf is an attribute you need to create under "CatalogEntries" node. And "isRoot" is not requried.
Download the sample project "TutWD_TreeByNestingTableColumn". See the below link to dnld this project.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/index?rid=/webcontent/uuid/503f22f6-b978-2a10-bf97-ddc21267e752 [original link is broken]
Do the changes in sample project as below:
Invoke this method in the init method as below (as it is in the same project).
addCatalogEntries(wdContext.nodeCatalogEntries(), "ROOT");
Change the code in addCatalogEntries() method as below.
Here we are calling the addCatalogEntries() method recursively for all the parent elements and we are changing the setExpanded property to true.
public void addCatalogEntries( com.sap.tut.wd.treetable.wdp.IPrivateTreeTableView.ICatalogEntriesNode node, java.lang.String parentId )
//@@begin addCatalogEntries()
IPrivateTreeTableView.ICatalogEntriesElement newCatalogEntriesElement;
for (int i = 0; i < Catalog.getLength(); i++) {
if (parentId.equals(Catalog.getParentId(i))) {
// create new context node element
newCatalogEntriesElement = node.createCatalogEntriesElement();
node.addElement(newCatalogEntriesElement);
// provide node elements with data
newCatalogEntriesElement.setID(Catalog.getCATALOGID(i));
newCatalogEntriesElement.setTITLE(Catalog.getTITLE(i));
newCatalogEntriesElement.setDESCRIPTION(Catalog.getDESCRIPTION(i));
newCatalogEntriesElement.setAMOUNT(Catalog.getAMOUNT(i));
if ("ARTICLE".equals(Catalog.getCATALOGTYPE(i))) {
// checkbox is visible by default
newCatalogEntriesElement.setPUBLISHED(Catalog.getPUBLISHED(i));
// third level is last level
newCatalogEntriesElement.setIsLeaf(true);
} else {
// a CATEGORY does not use the checkbox column
newCatalogEntriesElement.setUsageOfPublishedAttribute(WDVisibility.BLANK);
newCatalogEntriesElement.setIsLeaf(false);
newCatalogEntriesElement.setChildrenLoaded(true);
newCatalogEntriesElement.setExpanded(true);
addCatalogEntries(newCatalogEntriesElement.nodeChildCatalogEntries(),newCatalogEntriesElement.getID()); -
XML Parser for Java v2. Applying XSLT to DOM tree
I encountered pretty weird behavior of XML Parser for Java v2.
While applying XSLT to XML document created in memory using DOM
interface I couldn't access element attributes. For example,
given the XML document:
<root>

Value of Item 00001

Value of Item 00002

</root>
and XSLT:
<xsl:template match="/">

XSLT Test

<xsl:for-each select="/Error">

Error
<xsl:value-of select="."/>
</xsl:for-each>

<xsl:for-each select="/root">

<xsl:text>Attribute</xsl:text>

<xsl:text>Value</xsl:text>

<xsl:for-each select="Item">

<xsl:value-of select="@ID"/>

<xsl:value-of select="."/>

</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:for-each>

</xsl:template>
If I build DOM tree by parsing XML file the resulting HTML
document after applying XSLT will display
Attribute Value
00001 Value of Item 00001
00002 Value of Item 00002
But if I build DOM tree using following code:
XMLDocument xDoc = new XMLDocument();
Element root = xDoc.createElement( "root" );
xDoc.appendChild( root );
Element elem = xDoc.createElement( "Item" );
elem.setAttribute( "ID", "00001" );
root.appendChild( elem ).
appendChild( xDoc.createTextNode( "Value of Item 00001" ) );
elem = xDoc.createElement( "Item" );
elem.setAttribute( "ID", "00002" );
root.appendChild( elem )
.appendChild( xDoc.createTextNode( "Value of Item 00002" ) );
the same XSLT will produce the following HTML output:
Attribute Value
Value of Item 00001
Value of Item 00002
So the value for the ID attribute is not displayed. At the same
time I can access this attribute using DOM interface. For
example, following code
NodeList nList = xDoc.getElementsByTagName( "Item" );
Element e;
for( int i = 0; i < nList.getLength(); i++ )
e = (Element)nList.item( i );
System.out.println( "ID: " + e.getAttribute( "ID" ) );
produces an output
ID: 00001
ID: 00002
Here is the code for applying XSLT to DOM tree:
DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
parser.parse( new FileInputStream( "test.xsl" ) );
XMLDocument xsldoc = parser.getDocument();
XSLStylesheet xsl = new XSLStylesheet( xsldoc, createURL( "" ) );
XMLDocument out = new XMLDocument();
out.appendChild( new XSLProcessor().processXSL(xsl, xDoc) );
out.print( new FileOutputStream( "test.html" ) );

Is initial state of a Java stack frame stored somewhere
In My IDE (Eclipse), debugger has an option "Drop to Frame" for each method in the method stack, which when clicked resets the stack to the initial state of the selected method.
How is the operation achieved?
Is this an potion from JDB or IDE would have stored the initial state of all method stack frames?
How could have static variables for other classes got reset?http://www.coderanch.com/t/485739/Java-General/java/initial-state-Java-stack-frame

I have Adobe Photoshop CS4 and have just upgraded my Mac operating system to Yosemite with the newest version of Java 2014 running. When I try to access Photoshop from Bridge or directly open it asks for a Legacy Version of Java 6. As I am a pensioner I cannot afford an upgrade does anyone know of a work-around for this problem?
Hi Daddyfred,
CS4 Photoshop has not been tested on Yosemite. But still you can try the Java 6 update using the below link.

Open Forte for java project in Sun java studio enterprise
Hi Everyone, I am new to Java development. I have a java application developed in Forte for java 4 and I need to open and compile it in Sun java studio enterprise. Could anybody tell me how to do that? Thank you very much.
The recent versions of the IDE (starting with NetBeans 4.1 and JSE 8) are based on a more-robust project system that is ant based. Projects from Forte for Java 4, unfortunately, cannot be directly opened in JSE8, NB4.1 and later.
If you do have access to the original source code, pl. try the following in the latest version of JSE or NetBeans:
- Create a fresh project in jse using File | New Project. (For a java standalone app, you would choose General | Java Application from the dialog).
- Add the existing files to the empty project. You can do so by right-clicking on the project, selecting properties and adding the existing source directories under 'Source Packages' in 'Sources' category.
Or from the new project dialog, you could select 'General | Java Project with existing sources' option. -
