Tree Node Table question

Hi,
When a tree is built doesn't the ps_tree_node_tbl table get updated with all the nodes from the tree? Are there any processes that we need to run to get it in sync?
Please advise.
thank you

Which tree are you writing a query for? Is the data in pstreenode?

  • WD ABAP: Recursion Nodes that Repeat Tree Nodes with Embedded Tables ???

    At Rich H's suggestion, I'm posting this here as well as in the blogs.
    Suppose you've got a tree context with a node that has a table embedded under it. (For example, the TREE_WITH_TABLE view of WDR_TEST_EVNT has this kind of context substructure.) Call this node "NODE_WITH_TABLE."
    You now define a recursion node underneath "NODE_WITH_TABLE" and specify "NODE_WITH_TABLE" as the repeated node for this recursion node. Call this recurion node "RECURSION_NODE".
    Lo and behold - the table fills properly when you're on any instance of "NODE_WITH_TABLE", but not when you're on an instance of "RECURSION_NODE".
    I'm hoping that:
    a) I'm doing something wrong;
    OR
    b) There's an easy work-around/alternative I'm not seeing
    OR
    c) SAP will give recursion nodes enough memory to carry any table(s) embedded in the nodes they're repeating.
    'Cause I sure don't want to have to define "n" levels of tree-nodes that have different copies of the same table(s) embedded in them.

    Maybe you might want to back out your weblog as it is not really a place to ask these types of questions.  Think of it this way,  if you are allowed to do this type of weblog,  what is stopping any other weblogger.  Hence the weblogs would just be another forum, which I don't think anyone wants.

  • Does an irrepariable "Invalid B-tree node" = unusable HD?

    Hello,
    I've decided my external LaCie drive has officially "died," but I want to know if it's truly unuseable or if I can just reformat it and start over (with it) again.
    The Drive: a LaCie 300GB with one 40GB scratch partition and one 260GB backup partition.
    What happened: After a about a week of erratic/slow disk access to the backup partiton (I'd shrugged it off as a full and fragmented drive), it finally just screeched to a snail's pace - so I could read/write to it, but, for example, copying 5MB file to/from it took about 3mins. I quickly backed up as much as I could off of it to another drive (100GB took 14hrs) and just as it finished copying the last file, it disappeared from my sidebar (though the scratch partition was still visible). I Disk Utility and could see it was unmounted and it's "name" had been reset to "disk5s3". Running the First Aid repair resulted in a quick "Invalid B-tree node size" ... "Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit".
    Flash forward three days later: After unsuccessfully running Disk Warrior and Data Rescue for 20hrs (progress estimated it would take 400hrs to complete scan) - I gave up.
    Sorry for the long setup, but my question is: can I just "zero" the drive and use it again, or is it "damaged" physically and suitable for a paperweight only. If it's usuable after reformatting, is there a way to test the hardware of the drive to assure it's stable?
    Thanks for your time!

    can I just "zero" the drive and use it again, or is it "damaged" physically and suitable for a paperweight only
    Like Dwight I doubt the drive is physically damaged but simply has a damaged catalogue b-tree. The only way you're going to find out though it to erase the drive and write zeros to it. Just be aware that everything on the drive will be lost (though I gather you know that already) if you do this.

  • How-to synchronize edit forms for a single View Object tree node entrie

    Hi all,
    I created a tree from a single View Object,
    follow this [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/32-tree-table-from-single-vo-169174.pdf]
    then i want to create and synchronize edit forms for tree node entries,
    follow this [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/50-synchromize-form-treeselection-169192.pdf]
    but it not working when i click child node!!
    i found the latter tree from many View Object ,but the former tree from single View Object.
    what should i do?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    say the tree is built from ViewObject1. In the AM model, create a second View Object instance for this. Say ViewObject2. Create the form from ViewObject2 and the tree from ViewObject1. When creating the tree, use the"Target Data Source" option at the bottom to reference the iterator of ViewObject2. Then create a PartialTrigger on the paneFormLayout that holds the synch form. In the partial trigger property, reference the tree so that when the tree selection changes, the form is updated. Then create a PartialTrigger property on the tree and point it to the submit button of the form so you can show updated values in the tree.

  • Display tree node data in bold characters

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where I need to display tree nodes data in bold characters. If I click on a particular tree node, next time it should appear in normal font only which means that some task had done using that tree node. Is my question clear??
    Plz help me....
    thanks,
    ravindra.

    Hi Ravindra,
    I think it is possible, i have not done it but let me explain how we can do it.
    In <htmlb:treeNode> tag there is an attribute 'text' in
    which we specify title of that treeNode.
    Now you define a page attribute 'treeNodeTitle' type
    edpline and in onCreate assign it value <html><b>MyTreeNode</b></html>
    When you click on this node then you do event handling
    in onInputProcessing, there assign only 'MyTreeNode' to
    treeNodeTitle.
    sample code may look like this...
    <htmlb:treeNode
      id = 'treeNode1'
      text = '<%=treeNodeTitle %>' >
    </htmlb:treeNode>
    Page Attribute
    treeNodeTitle type edpline
    in onCreate
    treeNodeTitle = '<html><b>MyTreeNode</b></html>'
    in onInputProcessing
    in event-handling code for that treeNode write
    treeNodeTitle = 'MyTreeNode'
    I hope this will work.

  • Tree and Tree Node Components - Threadinar7

    Hi All,
    This is the seventh in the "Threadinar" series , please see Threadinar6 at
    http://forum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=100601 for details
    In this Threadinar we will focus on the
    "Tree" and "Tree Node" Components
    Let us begin our discussion with the Tree Component.
    Tree Component
    You can drag the Tree component from the Palette's Basic category to the Visual Designer to create a hierarchical tree structure with nodes that can be expanded and collapsed, like the nodes in the Outline window. When the user clicks a node, the row will be highlighted. A tree is often used as a navigation mechanism.
    A tree contains Tree Node components, which act like hyperlinks. You can use a Tree Node to navigate to another page by setting its url property. You can also use a Tree Node to submit the current page. If the the Tree Node's action property is bound to an action event handler, selecting the node automatically submits the page. If the Tree Node's actionListener property is bound to an action listener, opening or closing the node automatically submits the page. You set Tree Node properties in the Tree Node Component Properties window.
    * If you use this component to navigate between pages of a portlet, do not use the url property to link to a page. Instead, use the Navigation editor to set up your links to pages.
    * Events related to tree node selection do not work correctly in portlets because the component uses cookies to pass the selected node id back and forth, and cookies are not correctly handled by the portlet container. You cannot handle tree node selection events in portlet projects.
    Initially when you drop a tree on a page, it has one root node labeled Tree and one subnode labeled Tree Node 1. You can add more nodes by dragging them to the tree and dropping them either on the root node to create top level nodes or on existing nodes to create subnodes of those nodes. You can also right-click the Tree or any Tree Node and choose Add Tree Node to add a subnode to the node.
    Additionally, you can work with the component in the Outline window, where the component and its child components are available as nodes. You can move a node from level to level easily in the Outline window, so you might want to work there if you are rearranging nodes. You can also add and delete tree nodes in the Outline window, just as in the Visual Designer.
    The Tree component has properties that, among other things, enable you change the root node's displayed text, change the appearance of the text, specify if expanding or collapsing a node requires a trip to the server, and specify whether node selection should automatically open or close the tree. To set the Tree's properties, select the Tree component in your page and use the Tree Component Properties window.
    The following Tutorial ("Using Tree Component") is very useful to learn using Tree components
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/sitemaptree.html
    See Also the Technical Article - "Working with the Tree Component and Tree Node Actions"
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/techart/2/tree_component.html
    Tree Node Component
    You can drag the Tree Node component from the Palette's Basic category to a Tree component or another tree node in the Visual Designer to create a node in a hierarchical tree structure, similar to the tree you see in the Outline window.
    The tree node is created as a subnode of the node on which you drop it. If you drop the node on the tree component itself, a new node is created as a child of the root node. You can see the hierarchical structure clearly in the Outline window, where you can also easily move nodes around and reparent them.
    You can also add a tree node either to a Tree component or to a Tree Node component by right-clicking the component and choosing Add Tree Node.
    A Tree Node component by default is a container for an image and can be used to navigate to another page, submit the current page, or simply open or close the node if the node has child nodes.
    * If you select the Tree Node component's node Tree Node icon in the Outline window, you can edit its properties in the Tree Node Properties window. You can set things like whether or not the Tree Node is expanded by default, the tooltip for the Tree Node, the label for the tree node, and the Tree Node's identifier in your web application.
    * You can use a Tree Node to navigate to another page by setting its url property. You can also use a Tree Node to submit the current page. If the the Tree Node's action property is bound to an action event handler, selecting the node automatically submits the page. If the Tree Node's actionListener property is bound to an action listener, opening or closing the node automatically submits the page.
    - Note: If you use this component to navigate between pages of a portlet, do not use the url property to link to a page. Instead, use the Navigation editor to set up your links to pages. In addition, events related to tree node selection do not work correctly in portlets because the component uses cookies to pass the selected node id back and forth, and cookies are not correctly handled by the portlet container. You cannot handle tree node selection events in portlet projects.
    * If you select the image in the Tree Node, you can see that its icon property is set to TREE_DOCUMENT. If you right-click the image on the page and choose Set Image, you can either change the icon to another one or choose your own image in the Image Customizer dialog box. For more information on working with an image in a tree node, see Image component.
    - Note: The image used in a tree node works best if it is 16x16 or smaller. Larger images can work, but might appear overlapped in the Visual Designer. You can right-click the component and choose Preview in Browser feature to check the appearance of the images.
    Please share your comments, experiences, additional information, questions, feedback, etc. on these components.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------

    One challenge I had experience was to make the tree
    always expanded on all pages (I placed my tree menu
    in a page fragment so I can just import it in my
    pages).Did you solve this problem. It would be interesting to know what you did.
    To expand a node you call setExpanded on the node. Here is some code from a tutorial that a coworker of mine is working on.
    In the prerender method:
           Integer expandedPersonId = getRequestBean1().getPersonId();
             // If expandedPersonId is null, then we are not coming back
            // from the Trip page. In that case we do not want any trip
            // nodes to be pre-selected (highlighted) due to browser cookies.
            if (expandedPersonId==null) {
                try {
                    HttpServletRequest req =(HttpServletRequest)
                    getExternalContext().getRequest();
                    Cookie[] cookies = req.getCookies();
                    //Check if cookies are set
                    if (cookies != null) {
                        for (int loop =0; loop < cookies.length; loop++) {
                            if (cookies[loop].getName().equals
                                    ("form1:displayTree-hi")) {
                                cookies[loop].setMaxAge(0);
                                HttpServletResponse response =(HttpServletResponse)
                                getExternalContext().getResponse();
                                response.addCookie(cookies[loop]);
                } catch (Exception e) {
                    error("Failure trying to clear highlighting of selected node:" +
                            e.getMessage());
            }                  ... (in a loop for tree nodes)...
                      personNode.setExpanded(newPersonId.equals
                                    (expandedPersonId));In the action method for the nodes:
           // Get the client id of the currently selected tree node
            String clientId = displayTree.getCookieSelectedTreeNode();
            // Extract component id from the client id
            String nodeId = clientId.substring(clientId.lastIndexOf(":")+1);
            // Find the tree node component with the given id
            TreeNode selectedNode =
                    (TreeNode) this.getForm1().findComponentById(nodeId);
            try {
                // Node's id property is composed of "trip" plus the trip id
                // Extract the trip id and save it for the next page
                Integer tripId = Integer.valueOf(selectedNode.getId().substring(4));
                getRequestBean1().setTripId(tripId);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                error("Can't convert node id to Integer: " +
                        selectedNode.getId().substring(4));
                return null;
    It would also be great if I can set the tree
    readonly where the user cannot toggle the expand
    property of the tree (hope this can be added to the
    tree functionality).

  • Invalid B-tree node and disk stuck

    Last night my 2 year old iMac froze up. When I re-started I received the flashing question-mark folder. I ended up inserting my OS X install disk and attempting to run the Disk Utility. I tried to repair the disk, but got the "Invalid B-tree node size" error with "The volume needs to be repaired."
    I have tried a lot of things and will probably end up buying Disk Warrior and hoping that fixes it. BUT, I have another problem. I can't eject the OS X install disk. The option to eject is greyed out on the Disk Utility, the eject key doesn't work, and I can't find any way to unload the disk. Help would be appreciated.

    If you have an external hard drive it would be easier to clone your system to the external then boot to the external and run Disk Warrior from there. However if your system won't boot in the first place that won't work. You could pick up a copy of Disk Warrior from the Apple store.

  • Help w/ clicking on leaves of tree node

    Hello,
    I am fairly new to Flex and coding in general, so please bare
    with me if my problems seems like a trivial one.
    I am trying to create a tree list, where the contents of the
    tree are actually links. For example, the top level of the tree
    node would be a category (companies), and the leaves of the tree
    would be the company names. In addition, I would like the user to
    be taken, in a new browser window, to a URL specified in the XML
    list when clicking on a company name.
    I am having problems resolving the click actions in the app.
    I can get the app to open and close the nodes of the tree cleanly,
    but when I try to add some code to take the user to a URL when
    clicking on a company name (leaf), I get errors.
    I am really stuck on how to read the click event in the tree
    list, run to the associated XML file to find the URL, then open up
    a new browser page to that URL.
    Can someone help me please? I've added a snippet of code to
    review.
    Thank you in advance!

    Two things:
    1) I'm thinking the currentTarget of the itemClick event will
    be the tree
    itself, not the node. So you need to look at the selectedItem
    property to
    get the node. See the example under Handling Tree control
    events:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=dpcontrols_8.html
    2) To answer your question, you just need to reference it
    properly for
    however you set up the xml:

  • Htmlb:tree differentiate between nodeclick and tree node expander click

    Hi,
    how can i differentiate between nodeclick and tree node expander (to get to its children) click in my event processing in htmlb:tree element.
    <u><b>What i am trying to achieve?</b></u>
    Onload just load root node and its immediate children.
    On node expand get the children of the current node and modify htmlb:tree table2 with additional node inofs.
    on node click  call some client function.
    But my issue is that i am not able to differentiate between node expander click and node click in my event handling. Any help on this is appreciated.
    (I am not using MVC)
    Thanks in advance.

    After reading your weblog I think I understand better. I did some testing with my example.  I am using the toggle = "true", so that the page returns to the server each time an expander is selected.
    <htmlb:tree id          = "myTree1"
                  height      = "75%"
                  toggle      = "true"
                  title       = "<b><otr>EQI Reporting Tree</otr></b>"
                  width       = "90%"
                  onTreeClick = "myTreeClick"
                  table       = "<%= application->selection_model->itview                             %>" >
      </htmlb:tree>
    However I have not added any coding in my event handler to respond to the expander event.  I only respond to myTreeClick (which loads some data for the given selection).  The BSP tree element itself must be doing the hard work for me.
      if event_id cs 'tr_myTree1'.
        data: tree_event type ref to cl_htmlb_event_tree.
        tree_event ?= htmlb_event.
        if tree_event->server_event = 'myTreeClick'.
          clear appl->message1.
          appl->selection_model->get_chart_data( appl = appl
                                                 node = tree_event->node ).
        endif.
      endif.
    I pass my entire tree defintion to the element.  It appears that it only sends visible nodes to be rendered. When the expander is selected, I don't have to do anything, the tree re-renders with only the newly visible rows.
    I tested and turned off the toggle (toggle = "false") and my page took forever to load because it was sending all the nodes to the frontend on the first load.

  • Checking if user has selected or deselected a tree node

    Hello,
    In the event handler of the On Action event of a tree node, I need to decide whether the user has selected the element or deselected it.
    I thought to use the following:
    data:  lo_node type ref to if_wd_context_node,
             lo_element type ref to if_wd_context_element,
             l_element_selected type abap_bool.
    first I tried
    * need to find out if this element was selected or deselected!
      l_element_selected = context_element->is_selected( ).
    but it didn't work - so I tried
    lo_node = context_element->get_node( ).
      lo_element = lo_node->get_lead_selection( ).
      if lo_element = context_element.
        l_element_selected = abap_true.
      else.
        l_element_selected = abap_false.
      endif.
    This did work.
    I'm slightly confused as to why the two did not give the same result?
    I can see in the implementation why - gotta love being able to see how the engine works - but why is the node selection table not set? For future reference, is there some flow that has to happen before the selection gets set but after the lead selection is made? Or is this just an error in the handling of the tree node element?
    Cheers,
    Chris

    One would wonder why there is no is_Lead_Selected method. Having just the is _ Multi_  Selected method is quite confusing. Especially when the method description is "True, if element is selected in the node". One would assume that this would include lead selection.
    Then again - when you consider the mismatch between methods that return values and methods that export values, this lack of a is_Lead_Selected method would be low down on my list of things to fix to make WDA more consistent.
    Having Get_Static_Attributes return the data rather than export it would be much higher on my list - ( get_static_attributes_ref does actually return the reference to the data - talk about inconsistent! )

  • Confirmation Dialog when clicking on Tree Node.

    I am working on Oracle Apex 4.2.0.00.27 and I have the following problem:
    The code below shows the definition of a tree. The tree displays records from the table ACTIVITIES in hierarchical structure.
    When user clicks on a leaf/node of the tree he will be redirected to another page where the details of each Activity/leaf/node are displayed.
    The tree is part of a page where I have established a functionality to check for changes on the input fields of the page and inform the user when he tries to redirect without first saving the changes he made.
    What I want to do is:
    WHEN user clicks on a node of the tree AND he hasn't saved any changes he made
    THEN
    trigger a confirmation dialog.
    IF
    he clicks OK he is redirected to the node details page as defined on the tree definition:
    f?p=&APP_ID.:10:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P10_ID:'||"ID"
    ELSE if he clicks CANCEL
    he stays on the same page.
    The condition to trigger the confirmation box is:
    if (document.getElementById('P0_CHANGES_DETECTED').value == 1)
    where P0_CHANGES_DETECTED is a universal hidden text field that is set to +'1'+ every time a change is made.
    and here is the tree definition:
    select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
    when level = 1             then 1
    else                           -1
    end as status,
    level,
    +"NAME" as title,+
    null as icon,
    +"ID" as value,+
    null as tooltip,
    decode(PARENT_ID,null,null, 'f?p=&APP_ID.:10:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P10_ID:'||"ID") as link
    from "#OWNER#"."ACTIVITIES"
    where GROUP_ID = :P20_GROUP_ID
    start with "ID" in (select ID from "#OWNER#"."ACTIVITIES" where GROUP_ID = :P20_GROUP_ID and PARENT_ID is null)
    connect by prior "ID" = "PARENT_ID"
    order siblings by "ID"
    I hope it is clear what I want to achieve. Thanks in advance.

    So you'll want to bind an event to all tree nodes that checks for the value and then fires the confirmation if there value is 1.
    Try something like this:
    - first, give your static ID attribute in your tree the value of tree_static_id (or whatever you want. just replace the id selector below with what you choose).
    - In your Page Function and Variable Declaration Javascript:
    function confirmSave() {
    var changeDetected = jQuery('#P0_CHANGES_DETECTED').val();
    if(changeDetected == 1) {
    //only do this if change is detected
    if(confirm('You have unsaved changes. Do you want to leave this page?')) {
    window.location('[your url here]');
    jQuery(document).ready(function() {
    //bind function to the click event
    $('#tree_static_id').find('li a').bind('click', function() { confirmSave(); } });
    });Hope this helps

  • How to fill or bind data using Value Node in Tree Node

    Hi Gurus,
    Can anybody help me on how to fill data or bind data using Value Node in Tree Node View. I know how to create Tree Node but not able to show value on the UI in Tree View.
    Can u please let if anybody has done it?
    Thanks in advance.

      In the above code iv_bo , lv_value_node will be the actual object of the second node or leaf node here, which will have the same structure of parent node along with data. After/before this, you would need to build table and refresh in do-prepare_output of IMPL class.In the above code iv_bo , lv_value_node will be the actual object of the second node or leaf node here, which will have the same structure of parent node along with data.         ztyped_context->resultlist->refresh( ).
      ENDIF.
    Also the EH_ONEXPAND has to be implemented and event handled in DO_HANDLE_EVENT. But this expand event has to be delegated to context node directly as CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_TREE will already have the implementation.
    ztyped_context->resultlist->expand_node( lv_event->row_key ).
    Where in result list is the node ZL_CLASS_CN00.
    After typing the whole content , i found this blog :). There are few things i have written more that in the blog.  /people/poonam.assudani/blog/2009/06/24/create-a-tree-view-display-in-crm-web-ui

    i am developing a web site which has a site map as a tree component, the sitemap is a inserted in a page fragment, users could click tree nodes to go to corresponding pages. also on other pages, i have next and previous buttons which allow users to navigate through pages. the question is how can i update the tree component when users navigate using the next and previous buttons so that the correct tree node is highlighted?
    i tried to use the selected property for the tree component, but it does not do anything.
