Tree/TreeTable component development in Oracle JDeveloper

Hi
I am newbie for building JSF components using Oracle ADF. We have some data from other application which needs displayed in hierarchical fashion - Tree structure. Can I sample application in this regard.
Thanks
sunder

Thanks for the information, it was helpful.
Can you provide similar startup where we need to display data from web services in tree table format. We will also require to render the cell with as a radio button/text.
Thanks
sunder

    - Oracle SQLDeveloper
    - Oracle Developer Suite
    2) Assuming Oracle Developer Suite:
    - Oracle Dev Suite is used to create Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Discoverer worksheets, and Entity Relationship Diagrams
    - Oracle JDeveloper is used to create any kind of Java object (including Java 2 & 3 tier forms) and ALL objects that support those Java objects (XML, UML, database, SOAP, etc) BUT NOT the stuff in Dev Suite.
    Both are very powerful. Expect to take at least 15 minutes* to learn either.

  • Getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0)

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle Unified Directory 11.1.2.2.0 and WebSphere Application Server 7 with Fix Pack 37.
    I am getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 (7.0.0.37) with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0). While adding products to cell (Oracle Directory Services Manager for WebSphere - 11.1.2.2.0), I am getting below error:
    CFGFWK-64069: The following prerequisites were found to be missing: Oracle WebCenter Composer Extension - 11.1.1.0
    Also attached the screenshot of the error.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Himanshu Verma

    Hello,
    ODSM has the following dependencies apart from ADF (both components depend also on ADF):
    - UIShell (oracle.idm.uishell.war)
    - Webcenter Composer (oracle.webcenter.composer.war).
    Apparently the composer is missing.
    Important points to check when using ODSM with WAS:
    - To install and configure Oracle Fusion Middleware with IBM WebSphere, you must first install (but not configure) IBM WebSphere
    - You must install the Oracle Application Development Framework as the same user who installed Oracle Unified Directory.
    - appdev must be installed under the same ORACLE_HOME as OUD

  • Calling Oracle Developer Report from JDeveloper

    I am using Orale JDeveloper 10.1.2. I can't seem to find a way of producing reports. I read that Oracle Reports developer can be integrated with Jdeveloper. How can I do this? I want to be able to generate reports from Jdeveloper.
    Thanks.
    Lucas

    If you want the Reports integration inside JDeveloper - you need to install the Oracle Developer Suite - the JDeveloper version that comes there has the reports integration.

  • How necessary is for an ORACLE developer to learn JDeveloper

    As you know, the business and programming community has
    adopted Java in an unprecedented manner.
    Java will be the lifeblood in the infrastructure of many
    future (enterprise level) applications and future platforms.
    So, I believe it is vital to understand Java!
    To develop an enterprise level application without Java,
    would be a difficult propositio to sell!
    Ofcourse, significant technical expertise in
    Designer and Developer, PL/SQL, etc
    will continue to be valued for many years to come.
    But this is just my personal opinion.

  • Develop JavaFX RIA in Oracle JDeveloper

    From the official website for JavaFX, we could understand Netbeans IDE (for JavaFX) is the preferred IDE for JavaFX development.
    But as I'm required to migrate my JavaFX to Oracle JDeveloper (previously developed in Netbeans 6.8), I build up a generic project in JDeveloper. I selected tools -> manage libraries -> new, and created a new library for JavaFX in JDeveloper, then I added all necessary classpath\source path\doc path into this library.
    I added this library to my generic project and create a empty file with extension .fx. However when I put some really simple codes inside this file and try to run it, the compiler tells me that it's not runnable.
    Any comments on this? Regards from isaac.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    Yeah, I am able to run all the Module from the Model. The error is coming when I am trying to run the View. Either running directly from view or individual Java file, in both cases getting the same error:
    (oracle.jbo.JboException) JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null

  • TreeTable Component - attributes for $selected[*]

    I am trying to pass some query parameters to a new menu item added to the TreeTable component that drives the main menu in IDM 8. Documentation in the treetablelibrary.xml says:
    <Comments>  Define an action by supplying:
                  - a name (action)
                  - a label to display for the action, usually a message key (label)
                  - the selections required for this action (selectionMode):
                    "none", "oneOrNone" (optionally one selection), "single"
                    (exactly one selection), "multi" (one or more), and "any"
                    (any number of selections, including none).
                  - the types of object this action applies to (selectionTypes)
                  - the URL to route the action to (targetURL)
                  - a map of parameters to pass to the targetURL (targetParameters)
                    You can set session attributes by prefixing the parameter name
                    with "Session:".  You can reference the selected items by using
                    a parameter value of "$selected[name]".
                  - the type of this object for authorization purposes (authType).
                    If omitted, selection type will be used.
                  - the right required on the object to perform this action (requiredRight)
                  - an ACL for the action (actionACL).  If supplied, this overrides
                    authType and requiredRight.
              </Comments>The question I have is: What are the attributes that are available for use with the $selected[*] syntax? I see 'id' and 'name' as examples (selected[id] and selected[name]), but would like to understand what else can be accessed in this way.
    To clarify, here is the type of code I would be writing:
    <argument name='targetParameters'>
                                <Map>
                                    <MapEntry key='id' value='$selected[id]'/>
                                    <MapEntry key='name' value='$selected[name]'/>
                                </Map>
                            </argument>Thanks for the help!

  • Need Help  to develop  Portlet in JDeveloper 10.1.2.10

    I do not know what the best best way to start develop Portlet in short period of time .I would be glad if any one can share his experience how they started to develop portlet in JDeveloper.

    Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 does not contain a portlet container. To deploy to Oracle Application Server 10.1.2
    1.     Install Oracle database 10g (10.1.0.4.2 or later)
    2.     Install Oracle Application Server (10.1.2.0.2) Infrastructure.
    3.     Install Oracle Application Server (10.1.2.0.2) J2EE and Web Cache
    4.     Install Oracle Application Server (10.1.2.0.2) Portal and Wireless.
    5.     Upgrade Portal to 10.1.4
    6.     Configure Java WSRP Container in Middle Tier.
    7.     Start the OracleAS Portal Builder
    8.     Deploy a WSRP Portlet Application in Oracle Application Server.
    9.     Register the WSRP Provider in OracleAS Portal.
    10.     Add a Portal Page.
    11.     Add the WSRP Portlets to Portal page.

  • Where is oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.wb.PoolAdministrator in jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.

    Try to upgrade an old developed jsp page to use in Oracle application server 10g. However, when compile with jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 there's few error occured. Which one of it was oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.wb.PoolAdministrator no longer available. I thought i might have been deprecated, but there's no document found regarding this.
    Anyone know about this ?
    cheers,

    What release of JDeveloper are you using where you have a oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.wb.PoolAdministrator class?
    I checked the earliest build on my machine (9.0.3.4) and don't find it in there.

  • Running an application developed in Oracle Forms and reports

    Hi Folks,
    Does anyone know or have an opinion on whether an application developed in Oracle Forms/Reports can run on Oracle Cloud as it is a supported product?
    It is also possible to 'mix' adf and forms , but on the cloud.....?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Hi,
    Oracle supports three types of cloud deployments
    (Private) where by applications runs on premises fully controlled by customers.
    (Public) where by applications runs at oracle data centers and managed by dedicated team of experts.
    (Hybrid) partial applications runs on premises "Customer Site" and rest on oracle public cloud.
    in your scenario of using forms/reports and ADF , i personally recommend to have your private cloud as the forms / reports are the previous generation of oracle development tools , everything in oracle public cloud is now based on Oracle fusions and fusion middle ware where the development tools are Jdeveloper , XML , etc...

    Hi,
    That is definitely a product manager - positioning question (forum ID: oalonso), so I'd recommend that you ask the same question in the SES forum. The Text team has been monitoring that forum and answering most of the posts there, so you'd probably be more likely to get your question answered.

    The version of JRE installed on VM is as below:
    [oracle@bigdatalite ~]$ java -version
    java version "1.7.0_51"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13)

    Hi Bilal,
    Can you try modify the below file to remove the Jrocket parameter.....
    regards
    Keith
    File:  /home/oracle/.jdeveloper/system11.1.1.6.38.61.92/DefaultDomain/bin/setDomainEnv.sh
    Add:
    # Clearing JAVA_VM - fix to remove jrockit setting
    JAVA_VM=""
    right before:
    if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" != "BEA" ] ; then
         JAVA_VM="${JAVA_VM} ${JAVA_DEBUG} ${JAVA_PROFILE}"
         export JAVA_VM
    else
         JAVA_VM="${JAVA_VM} ${JAVA_DEBUG} ${JAVA_PROFILE}"
         export JAVA_VM
