Trigger a WF when a Z table a record is INS/DEL/UPD.

Hi Everyone,
I have a requirememt where I want the Workflow to be triggered when ever a Record is Inserted/ Deleted /Modified.
Can any one suggest me how should I achieve this task.
Regasrds,
Deepak.

Hi Deepak,
You can use various table level events for that.
1) Go To table maintainance Generator-> Enviornment tab-> modifications-> events.
2) Make a new entry click the first F4 it will give you a list of events for creating entry select event 05.
3) Give a name and go to edit option.
4) There you can call event SWE_EVENT_CREATE.
5) Activate the Include and don't forget to activate the Function Group.
6) Now create any entry and then you can see through transaction swel your event must be triggered.
For any querry Plz let me know.

Manjari

    How to trigger a workflow when data inside a table changes ??
    We need to trigger a workflow when STAT2 field value in PA0000 table changes.

    Make use of Business Object BUS1065. In this business Object you have an attribute Status which you can use. There are a number of events that will get triggered when the status is changed.

  • Why is this table trigger not firing when insert/update from servlet?

    Hi!
    I have this servlet that parses XML and stores values into Oracle tables. I have created a table trigger so that when one table is updated, a trigger is fired and the current system date is store in another table's field.
    I have tested the trigger in Toad and it works, that is, if I update the table that the trigger is set to, the SYSDATE is stored as intended.
    Here is the trigger's code:
    DECLARE
    tmpVar NUMBER;
    NAME: transaction_time
    PURPOSE:
    REVISIONS:
    Ver Date Author Description
    1.0 9/14/2007 1. Created this trigger.
    NOTES:
    Automatically available Auto Replace Keywords:
    Object Name: transaction_time
    Sysdate: 9/14/2007
    Date and Time: 9/14/2007, 8:00:42 AM, and 9/14/2007 8:00:42 AM
    Username: (set in TOAD Options, Proc Templates)
    Table Name: MS_RESLIMITS (set in the "New PL/SQL Object" dialog)
    Trigger Options: (set in the "New PL/SQL Object" dialog)
    BEGIN
    tmpVar := 0;
    UPDATE MS_Misc SET mi_lastrun = SYSDATE;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    -- Consider logging the error and then re-raise
    RAISE;
    END transaction_time;
    Now, when the table is updated by the servlet, the trigger does not fire. And here is the code from the servlet:
    --- <start of code> ---
    boolean recordExists =
    this.isRecordPresent("MS_ResLimits", "rl_compcode",
    compCode, url);
    Connection rlConn = null;
    try {
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    rlConn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, dbUser,
    dbPwd);
    Statement stmt = rlConn.createStatement();
    PreparedStatement xmlUpdate = null;
    if (recordExists) {
    xmlUpdate =
    rlConn.prepareStatement("UPDATE MS_ResLimits SET rl_compcode = ?, rl_maxreslimit= ? WHERE rl_compcode =?");
    xmlUpdate.setString(1, compCode);
    xmlUpdate.setString(2, maximumReservationDate);
    xmlUpdate.setString(3, compCode);
    } else {
    xmlUpdate =
    rlConn.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO MS_ResLimits VALUES(?,?)");
    xmlUpdate.setString(1, compCode);
    xmlUpdate.setString(2, maximumReservationDate);
    } //end-if-else
    int n = xmlUpdate.executeUpdate();
    rlConn.commit();
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    out.println(ex.toString() +
    "-> error inserting Max Reservation Date<br>");
    } finally {
    if (rlConn != null) {
    rlConn.close();
    } //end-try-catch-finally
    --- <end of code> ---
    What causes the trigger to fire? the commit? My understanding is that executeUpdates are in autocommit mode by default, or am I mistaken? Do I have to programmatically send something to the DB so that the trigger fires?
    BTW, I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0. The project is being compiled with Java 1.5.0_06. The servlet is running in OCJ4 standalone. DB is 10g (don't know the release version).
    ...and, for some reason this message is not keeping format from my edit window to the post...
    Thx!

  • Can any one please send me an update trigger (pl/sql procedure) for ap tables(ap_suppliers,ap_supplier_site_all,and contacts)

    Please send an query for update trigger for those tables .

    Hi,
    Actually ID and Data are different names in my API. Here I mentioned like that.
    Am using Oracle 10g version.
    Yes I am going to get the multiple values using this Ref Cursor. The same ref cursor is used in another API of my package.
    In this API, the user actually enters Application_id and data. API should insert/update the version_master table with the inputs. See application_id is the foriegn key for app_master table.
    The requirement is whenever they enters application_id and data, if application_id already present in the version_master table, then the data should be updated and we should get a status flag for this using Out variable(i.e. using ref cursor only we are showing the status). if the application_id is not present in the version_master table, new record should be inserted. The sequence will generate the version_id for version_master table.
    But the Merge statement is working fine for update and insert also. Problem is am unable to see the success or failure through ref cursor. I don't know how exactly I can use this.
    If data is NULL the operation should be failed. i.e. I should get Failure status here. But am not getting this.
    Please remove the comments here and then check. If I use the NVL2 function I was able to get the status flag, i.e. S or F.
    OPEN resultset_o FOR
    SELECT NVL2 (data, 'S', 'F')
    FROM version_master
    WHERE application_id = application_id_i;
    1.How the value of data being not null will determine Success of the api and how null failure
    2.If the above select statement goes in to exception when others how I will no the failure
    I have to achieve the above scenarios.
    Please advice me.

  • After Update Trigger executes twice when single row is uptd thro proc

    We have the below trigger in our db. When a single record is updated using a procedure the trigger is executed twice and it inserts two records in other table.
    But when i issue an update statement using any sql client tool it is executing only once and inserts only one record in other table.
    Can any one please help me to find the reason?

    /*CompletionStatus := 'SUCCESS';*/
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    CompletionStatus := SQLCODE;
    rollback;
    END;

    Your problem seems not be related to the trigger restart issue I have already mentioned because you are using a AFTER UPDATE trigger and not a BEFORE UPDATE trigger:
    >
    BEFORE Triggers Fired Multiple Times
    If an UPDATE or DELETE statement detects a conflict with a concurrent UPDATE, then Oracle Database performs a transparent ROLLBACK to SAVEPOINT and restarts the update. This can occur many times before the statement completes successfully. Each time the statement is restarted, the BEFORE statement trigger is fired again. The rollback to savepoint does not undo changes to any package variables referenced in the trigger. Your package should include a counter variable to detect this situation.
    >
    If you are sure that you update a single row and that your trigger fires twice and if you can easiily reproduce the issue, I recommend that you contact Oracle Support and create a Service Request for your issue that could be an Oracle bug.

  • Trigger an Idoc when a sale order is been opened in VA02 & saved

    Hi Experts
         I have a requirement to trigger an Idoc when a sale order is been opened in VA02 transaction and saved.
    Now that I have attained the same through Message Control Settings and Nace out put type settings with Multiple Issuing.
    Here in the Idoc will be triggered when the user makes any changes in the order based on the NAST table entry.
    Now my requirement is that the Idoc has to be processed even if there is no changes made to the document when the user opens the sale order and clicks save.
    This is the process been carried out to re-process the Idoc.
    Now that the Idoc is triggered using the path ---> menu - extras -output - header- edit & save.
    Now that the user need to process the Idoc by just opening the order  in VA02 and  click save.
    How can this be attained ? is there any configuration for it ?
    Or is it possible to handle the same in any of the user exit ?
    the problem is the user exit save gets triggered only when there is any change in the document else it throws a msg " No changes made"

    Hi Niraj
       Thanks for your Response.
    Now that the output control works fine when there is any change made to the document.
    Now that i need to configure such a way that the output control triggers even if there is no change to the document and save   button is clicked.
    Can U please elaborate how do i make settings in VOFM-> Output Control ?
    Thanks

  • Trigger Adjustment postings when Expense type is changed.

    All,
    I have a situation where I would like to trigger and adjustment when the expense type is changed. The issue is that the GL account for the two expense types are the same and no adjustment is triggered. while the Expense type, wage type, and descriptions are different. all of this is by design.
    As the GL interface is not triggered the table PTRV_ROT_AWKEY- Assignment of Trip Results to Posting Doc. Number and Line-  is not updated with the modified details.
    How can we trigger adjustment postings when the expense type is changed?
    Best Regards,

  • Rules applied to multiple cells trigger color changes when any of the cells

    "Rules applied to multiple cells trigger color changes when any of the cells meet the rule’s condition." That's what Help says, but when I follow the directions, it doesn't work. This is in Numbers 08.
    I have a table where the contents of one column are either "YES" or "NO", depending on formulas using variables from other cells. If YES, I want the fill of that cell and that of two adjacent cells to change from white to green. I select all three cells and use conditional format rules for "text contains:" YES, then choose my fill color. When I return to the table and introduce values for the variables that trigger the rule, only the cell in the YES/NO column changes to green; the other two remain white.
    While I am spreadsheet challenged, I usually can follow directions as plain as those in Help, but it's not working. I couldn't find anything in the discussions after an hour of searching. Is this a known problem or am I just stupid?

    For what it's worth, that's the way I read that line in the User Guide as well. What it actually appears to mean, though is 'Rules applied to multiple cells apply independently to each of the cells."
    Here's a workaround for your three adjacent columns. Long, but fairly simple steps.
    Add a second table to the sheet (Table 2).
    Resize the second table to one column wide and as many rows as you want to apply the conditional format to.
    Set the width of the column to the same width as the three columns you want to highlight, and the row height(s) to match the rows.
    Format to table to have NO Header or Footer row or column.
    Use the Wrap Inspector to uncheck "Object causes wrap"
    In the first top cell of Table 2, enter an = sign, then Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, Click on the first cell that will hold YES or NO.
    Fill the formula down the rest of Table 2.
    With all cells in Table 2 selected, use the Cell Format inspector to set the 'text contains yes' rule and the conditional fill colour for these cells.
    Test the conditional formating by introducing values into Table 1.
    Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, then use the Table inspector to set Cell Fill to 'none'.
    Click on Table 2 in the sidebar, then drag that table onto table 1 aligning it to cover the cells in which the conditional formating is to appear.
    When positioned (and still selected), go to the Arrange menu and Send Backward to move Table 2 behind the (transparent) cells in Table 1.
    With Table 2 still selected, click on the Cell Borders color well and set the Opacity of the borders to 0%.
    Click the Text inspector and set the Text colour Opacity for Table 2 to 0%.

  • How to indent second line in a very long heading when creating a table of contents?

    I need to make a table of contents.
    Some of the chapter headings are very long and fill more than a single line.
    When I create my table of contents, I want the second lines to be 'pushed in' in the table.
    Like this
    1 chaper one xxxxxxxxxxx
    2 Chapter two xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    3 Chapter three x xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
         xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx
    4 Charpter four xxxxx xxxxx
    5 Chapter five xxxxxxxxxx xxx xxxxx xx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
         xxxxxxxxx xxxx xxxxx
    I thought I had solved it by having the actual chapter headings indented like this, but the table of contents overlooks this/overrules this.

    You could try to use a motion sensor - in a do-it-yourself store you can buy motion sensors that turn on the lights when a burglar approaches the property. Connect this sensor to the remote control of your camera instead of to a light.
    Probably you can buy ready-made motion sensitive remote controls, the photographers here will know. You would need this kind of remote control for wildlife photography.

    Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
    If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
    find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
    If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR" "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB"
    "SAPMSSY2" or "SAPMSSY2"
    "INITIATE_JOB_START"
    If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
    notification to SAP, include the following information:
    1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
    To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    2. Corresponding system log
    Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
    Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
    after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
    program: The source code of the program
    In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
    Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
    actions and input led to the error.
    The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
    "INITIATE_JOB_START" "(FORM)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in
    the
    RAISING clause of the procedure.

    please do me this favor if you know to avoid this problem..
    thanks a lot..

    Hello Anuj,
    This is because the COUNT(*) is returning a value which is longer than the INT4 data type it is expecting. If you restrict the selection by introducing a WHERE clause, then you won't get the dump:
    DATA: dyn_from    TYPE string,
          dyn_where   TYPE string,
          gx_sql_err  TYPE REF TO cx_sy_open_sql_error,
          gv_text     TYPE string.
    dyn_from  = `DD01L INNER JOIN DD02L ON DD02L~AS4LOCAL = DD01L~AS4LOCAL AND DD02L~AS4VERS = DD01L~AS4VERS`.
    dyn_where = `DOMNAME LIKE 'Z%'`.
    TRY .
        SELECT COUNT(*) FROM (dyn_from) WHERE (dyn_where).
        WRITE: / sy-dbcnt NO-GROUPING.
      CATCH:  cx_sy_open_sql_db             INTO gx_sql_err,
              cx_sy_dynamic_osql_semantics  INTO gx_sql_err,
              cx_sy_dynamic_osql_syntax     INTO gx_sql_err.
    ENDTRY.
    IF gx_sql_err IS BOUND.
      gv_text = gx_sql_err->get_text( ).
      WRITE: / gv_text.
    ENDIF.

    Suhas
