Triggering Info Package via Event

Hi,
I have created two events in SM62 and assign thm in Infopackages.(background ->after event with parameter)
After start process of Process Chain, i hav included ABAP process type which on certain conditions triggers those two events.
Now even if i comment my code, both IP's get triggered in process chain and data load run successfully.
Why the "after event" is not working?
Ne idea !!!

Ankur,
If you are using any objects(infopackages, ods etc)in Process chains, default setting are overwitten by process chain settings.
So if you are included infopacks in Pchain like:
Start process -> ABAP prog ->> Infopak1 -> Infopak2.
Then Infopackages will be triggered(according to the process chain sequence), infopaks are not depenedent on abap program, hence packages are triggred.
So follow one of the option provided by Mr.Ajay.

Events in Info-package group

Hi Friends,
Will an event that is part of the subsequent process in an Info-package, be triggered, if the same info-package is included in an Info-package Group..?
I have an IPG that has 5 info-packages. The IPG has a subsequent event. But my 5 info-packages also have subsequent events. Will these events also execute when the IPG is run..?

How do we raise an event into R/3 from a BW info-package ?

Hi friends,
Is there a way to raise an event from a BW stand-along info-package into the R/3 system, without using Event Collector..?
I cannot use the subsequent event option in the package itself since that will raise the event only into BW. I want it into R/3. I can probably raise an event from the package to start a process-chain and then add a step in the PC to run a pgm to raise an event into R/3.
But I am trying to see if there is a better and simpler way without having to create a extra PC.
I am on the BW 3.1 system.
Any suggestions/solutions will be greatly appreciated.

hi, here is what you do: This addition is with respect to the previous reply
You need an event from BW to R/3
Step1: create a custom FM copy of BP_EVENT_RAISE and making it rfc enable. To make a FM RFC enabled you just need to tick the radio button in the attributes of the FM.
Step2: Create a custome z program in BW and call FM z_bp_event_raise created in ECC.
Step3: call that program in Process chain.

Start button is disabled at info package

I have crreated a background job in SM36 to trigger an infopackage. I have added the event and parameter in the infopackage. But when I tried to execute the background job, the infopackage is not executing and the start button is disabled there. Then I click on the stop button to delete the scehduling jobs and again tried to trigger it, the infopackage is not getting triggered. Pls help me.

Hi,
when the info-package is running the start button will be dis-abled.
when you run the background job obvisiouly it will be disabled what you need to check is the moniter screen and see the status it should be yellow.

BRF+ Trigger via Event, change on field value, etc

Hi,
I'm implenting BRF+ for SPM Claims & Returns Process.
It took me a while to understand how I can set up an application, Function from type event, Rulesets, rules, etc but at the end it seems that it is a tremendous improvement compared to BRF!
So far I have triggered the BRF+ via the CRMV_EVENT_CUST table calling a function module that triggers the BRF+ Function and receives an CRM Log message but this solution is not sufficient for all locations I want to call the BRF+.
At first I want to call the BRF+ for the Entryvalidation: Entering a Claim with a item net value below a threashold should not be saveable.
The second call should be to decide if the Claim will be automatically approved or set to manual investigation: This is a check that will lead to a item status change.
The third and last check will be fullfilled by saving the Claim document: a whole set of business rules have to run and set maybe an incompleteness or process some error messages.
I neither any information in SAP Documentation, nor on any ressource on the net any information about customing the BRF+ Solution.
Is there any customizing in the system, as it is for BRF, that allows me to trigger the BRF+ for Business Transaction Category, Business Transaction or ItemCategories?
Furthermore, is there an option to call BRF+ via customizing that "listens" to a field change as Reason Code ( CODEGRUPPE, KATALOGART,CODE in the Subjectprofile?)
Can I define Events that trigger the BRF+ as in the BRF customizing?
When I search the IMG for BRFPLUS, I find a couple of entries, but doubleclicking on this search results doesn't jump to the customizing step.
It would be very helpfull to get some input in these topics.

yes, the screenshot was from CRM-Financial, but available in CRM Transaction Processing:
And I agree to your statement that there is no such customizing, because I neither found this Customizing, except:
Using the search in the customizing IMG, you will find 3 customizing entries with BRF+ or BRFPLUS, but clicking on them you will land in Nirvana, and not in the proper customizing tree.
But still the overall trigger for my message here is, that the BRF could be triggered via Customizing that doesn't seem to exist for BRF+ and that's strange!
I hope someone knows how the replacement of BRF with BRF+ is intended from this customizing point of view. I have to trigger a lot of different functions and using the old BRF I could trigger this Events using this customizing setup.

Dump Error while Creating the Info Package

Hi,
I have created Customized ODS and used Generic data sources.I have loaded full Upload to ODS. Created Info Packages for Init delta and Delta for delta loading. I have ran Full Upload and while I am trying to run Init, I am getting the error.
While I am trying to open the Info Package, I am getting Dump error message.
Dump error Message :
What happened?
    The current application program detected a situation which really
    should not occur. Therefore, a termination with a short dump was
    triggered on purpose by the key word MESSAGE (type X).
While i am trying to Create New Info Package, the systems gives the Dump on the System
Please help on this issue.

Hi,
Actually, when we want to have delta loads in future, then we can just have one infopackage with init delta infopackage, so that when it runs for the first time, it pulls all the records and from next time onwards it will pull the delta records only.
But as you have done the full load with infopackage, now just create a delta infopackage, no need of init delta infopackage, this is the reason, its giving dump.

Any log for Info Package

Dear Experts,
I have a info package which has been included in the process chain. It scheduled everyday.
Now somebody changed some settings in InfoPackage like data selection and processing tabs.How do i know that who has changed the settings.
If i look at the info package it says ALEREMORE becoz everytime its been triggered by process chain.That means you have last change name only.
If i want to find out last one weeks changes, HOW DO I ?

I have checked in the given table, Unfortunately there was only one record there which was done by ALEREMOTE(i.e Today's log). Since i told you that i need a log for entire last week.
That means rsldpio table maintaining last changed time only.but i need complete log list for the last one week.
Please help me

Creating Info-Package Groups

Hi All,
We are running a Job through Process chain. But due to some bug it is taking 4 Hrs to complete. We tried executing the Info-Packages manually. It completed with in 30 Mins. So we are planning to create IP group to trigger that Job instead of through Process chain.
Can you please explain how to create the Info Package Group and how to include info packeges in to the IP Group.
After creating IP group we have to schedule a Job to trigger this IP group which inturn triggers the Info packages.
If possible please explain the steps for the above process.

Hi,
Procedure to create InfoPackage Group
Go to InfoSource tree in modeling of the Administrator Workbench and choose in the standard toolbar of the right area of the screen Show InfoPackage Group.
On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see the InfoPackage group tree.
Highlight a node of the InfoPackage group tree and create a new InfoPackage group using the context menu (right mouse click). This is always inserted underneath the highlighted node.
Select an InfoPackage (in the InfoSource tree in the middle area of the screen) that you want to transfer to the InfoPackage group and move it into the InfoPackage group you want by using drag & drop.
You can assign as many InfoPackages as you like to an InfoPackage group.
InfoPackages with the same selection conditions, same assignment for combination of InfoSource / DataSource / source system, same data type (transaction data or master data), and same data target cannot be assigned to the same InfoPackage group.
Alternatively to the above procedure, you can also create an InfoPackage group in the monitoring view of the Administrator Workbench. However, in this view it is not possible to insert InfoPackages into the InfoPackage Group.
You have created an InfoPackage group and have inserted InfoPackages into the InfoPackage group. You can now
Scheduling an InfoPackage Group
Choose Show InfoPackage Groups in the InfoSource tree of the Administrator Workbench Modeling, or choose the InfoPackages view in Monitoring of the AWB.
Select an InfoPackage group from the InfoPackage group tree and choose Schedule.
You arrive in the scheduler (InfoPackage group maintenance) with the InfoPackages and Scheduling tab pages.
Select the InfoPackages you want to load.
By default, all InfoPackages are selected.
On the tab page InfoPackages, number the InfoPackages that are assigned to the group according to the sequence in which the loading process is to be carried out.
For the InfoPackages, select whether you want the monitor to run a check during the data update to see if the first request from the list has been completely and correctly processed. Only then will the request for which this indicator has been set be processed.
Define a fixed delay of one minute for the individual InfoPackages. The delay represents the wait time until the next request is carried out.
Schedule the InfoPackage group in the background.

Error Handling in info-package strangely doesn't work

Dear All,
I'm trying to load master-data from R3 containing time-dependent attributes which, I know, are sometimes overlapping. As I still want to load the correct part of data, i've set Processing - via PSA and Error Handling - "Updating valid records, reporting possible" with number of errors more than the dataset itself. However, the load still fails and what is more interesting, all records in PSA are marked as "green" whereas the errors are reported in a log.
And what makes me wonder even more is that the same info-package from the same DS is loaded in a test system OK - with errors handled and "trashed" in PSA and remaining updated in Info-Object MD.
Does anybody can help to resolve this strange problem as i can't honestly see the difference in global settings of test and productive systems that could allow this...

Hi,
Here you are extracting data for master data with one of the attribute as time dependent . So there are two more fileds are neccessary in extraction ,i.e, 'from date' and 'to date'.
And it seems there is overlapping of this range for two records. Make sure it in PSA with record numbers. And make sure there will be no overlapping.

Error when trying to execute a Info Package

When i am trying to start a data load in my info package its giving a Message Type X error (short dump) of class RSM1. Its happening with all the info packages for that data source. Even when i just try to save the info package or enter a data selection condition and save it its triggering the same error.
Can someone explain the reason for the error and the possible diagnosis.

Hi Priya,
1.The entries for the initialization in the BW system are contained in the RSSDLINIT table for the DataSource/source system combination. Compare these with the entries in the ROOSPRMSC table in the OLTP system.
2. If there are NO entries in the RSSDLINIT table in BW, use transaction RSA7 to delete the delta queue for this DataSource/BW application combination in the source system (OLTP).
3.Once you deleted all the entries,In Infopackage scheduler option,delete all the init selections to proceed further.
In which system u r going to do this.....Quality or production.(Better,you check with basis to delete the entries.)

I think by deleting the setup it will work...

Hi,
You are correct there is no setup table concept in HR extractors.
But there is a cache. Usually HR extractions will be full load. But it also supports delta. There is no setup table concept in HR.Once you perform your init (with or without Data transfer your delta path is set and delta will follow else can go for Full loads alone. It will extract data from the relevant tables like generic extractors. The data will be filtered based on the selection parameters.
Except for payroll and time management rest all sub-functional areas supports only full load.
In case of full loads, old data needs to be deleted to avoid duplicated records in the target.

Delta Update
This DataSource supports delta updates. The source system fills table HRMS_BIW_PPDELTA with the date and time of the first data transfer (initialization) and the date and time of all subsequent data transfers. This information enables the system to perform a delta transfer. It only selects posting runs with the above statuses whose last changed on date is after the date in table HRMS_BIW_PPDELTA.
If you use DataSources 0HR_PY_PP_2 (Posting Documents) and 0HR_PY_PP_1 (Auditing Information), you must transfer data to BW from both DataSources using the same selection criteria.

Here the data will be extracted from an info type (PA, PD, time management etc) and for few other applications it is from the cluster tables (Payroll, compensation etc.)
HR is basically master data centric because it is always related to people related Info Objects, such as Employee, Person. In most of the cases HR master data is defined as Time Dependent to enable historical evaluation. HR R/3 system records a specific period of validity for each Info type.
Procedure to extract the HR data:
Activate Data Sources in the Source system (R/3)
Replicate Data Sources in BW system:
Activate business contents in BW.
Populate HR cubes with data by scheduling info packages.
Note: Master Data should be loaded first
Except for payroll and time management rest all sub-functional areas supports only full load.
In case of full loads, old data needs to be deleted to avoid duplicated records in the target.

Status of Info packages and process changes become yellow after Unicode con

Dear Friends,
We have been facing very critical issue in Production system after Unicode conversion.
Sequences of Details are provided for your reference.
1. We suspended all BW loads for 48(2 days) hours before Unicode starts and Handover the BW system to Basis.
2. Basis started doing Unicode conversion on BW and they found some standard jobs ( BI_* , Ex: BI_PROCESS_LOADING) which are released status and they assumed that these jobs would run any time so that they suspended all of them but they didnu2019t inform to BW team that they had done. We didnu2019t know that when they did that like pre-Unicode installation, during the Unicode conversion and post Unicode.
3. Basis handover the system to BW team for Unicode testing (we called five finger testing) and we didnu2019t find any issues in the testing. Again we handover the system to Basis for post installations settings for Unicode and back up things. That time we didnu2019t release any jobs to load data to BW because Basis didnu2019t inform us that we can start loads.
4. After post installation is done and basis told us that you can start loads from Monday. Entire Unicode activity had been done on weekend.
5. Before releasing all BW loads to run regularly, I found the all completed process chains status become yellow and I did further detailed analysis to find why; then found some more strange things those are as follows.
          1. Only info packages in process chains are become yellow and other process variants are fine like activation,
               DTPu2019s, index and DB stats.
          2. Requests in PSA which were completed successfully are become yellow.
          3. Info packages in the process chains are successfully completed are not updating correct status instead of green it
              showing yellow because of that other dependent objects are not triggering.
We all thought that suspension of standard jobs must have been caused the problem.
How can we change the status of IPs, PSA and process chains automatically?
We reactivate all PCu2019s and released to run tomorrow.
Could you please share your thoughts about the issue and help us resolve?

A couple of questions :
1. If your previous PC runs were in yellow status - it would not impact furute PC runs..
2. If your IPAKs are in yellow - then you might have an issue with deltas happening since the last status would have been shown as incomplete.
3. Suspension of the standard jobs will not affect the status since the jobs were suspended but not the actual loads i.e the loads were not stopped halfway but only the released jobs were stopped - you might have to schedule the process chains again to get back the old schedule.
Usually in a Unicode conversion - the data is exported out of the DB and imported back - this might have caused some inconsistency in the database for the RS tables used for the monitors.
Which version of BW are you in ..?
were there any errors in the export / import procedure for unicode conversion ?
As part of testing did you check if loads went through properly ..?
Was stats run on the tables after unicode ?
Also if possible regenerate all the indices on the files.
Rerun stats and indices for all RS* tables

How to Schedule the info package groups?

You can execute at Group level.
Plz find teh steps for creation and sheduling of IP Group,
1. GO to Adminsitrator workbench RSA1 > Infosources
2. Create your infopackage do not select option but select data load
immediately get out of infopackage prior to going to step 3
3. Click on icon show infopackage groups
(icons are update tree, monitor, display node log, search in subtree,
legend, and show infopackage groups)
4. This will create another window. Now you can create your infopackage
groups. Right Click on folder (infopackage group)
enter long description name, go back to your infopackage and pull it
to the infopackage group
(it's a drag and drop to long description name you just created and
remember it will be on the bottom of the list most likely)
5. Click on infopackage group and its time to select which on to run
first and time your going to schedule it.
INFOPACKAGE
a. Execute package should have a check mark without it itwon't run.
b. Start Sequence (depends on which one you want to run
first for my example its) 1
c. Selection exists (is created when you pull youinfopackage to group)
d. Maintain infopackage is a pencil and will take you therefrom hereInfopackage is your name from the infopackage you pulledover
e. Data type (is created when you pull your infopackage togroup)
Check whether contents was updated without errors beforeyou start next request
(I highly recommend you check this because if will stopyour process if a infopackage fails)
f. Delay until the start of the next request (not necessaryto check)
g. Technical name
Schedule
Selection Options: Immediate (now)Date time (preselected time) if youcheck period and period valueshere it can be run eachday or specific dayAfter job
After event At operation mode

Info Package in Process Chain - Performance Issue

Dear All,
We have some Info Package in Process Chain which when triggered initially turns red, then again yellow, after sometime red/green. These status keeps changing and finally results in green status. These infopackage takes 15-30 mins to complete.
And the info package error message shows "Processing time overdue". The chain runs daily and this issue also occurs on a daily basis.
Does anyone one of you have an idea of how to deal with this performance issue?

As you said--
"initially time out time was set to 10 mins, so it was turning red at 10 mins. Later i changed it to 30 mins, then it is turning red at 30 mins, this info package takes maximum 20 mins to complete.
thatsy i asked whether there will be any problem if we remove this time out time."
I guess, its not mandatory to include the timeout value. Just try to execute the IP without entering the timeout value.
It should work.
