Trouble Downloading Lightroom 3.6 on my Mac

Can someone please help me with this?
In the past I purchased the software online, so I have my receipt in an email with the serial number for the software etc. I originally had downloaded the windows version on our dell laptop, and I remember running into this issue where it would not open lightroom right away, and it kept asking me for the id number or whatever. Drove me crazy but I didn't have much time to play around with it so I quit trying all together. The laptop screen is now broken so we no longer use it. I have since purchased a brand new imac and I remember having the option to download a mac version as well as a windows version so...today I got online and downloaded Lightroom 3.6 from my history, its on my desktop but when I try to open all the window shows is the pkg file & pdf file. If I click on the pkg file, it just asks to be installed. I am still learning how to get around my mac too so this is driving me crazy. HELP! oh and is it possible to download Lightroom to another windows pc now that my laptop won't be used or have I lost that download?

When I try to download the program I am directed to a page which says "You are running an operating system that Lightroom no longer supports. It means what it says: you are running an operating system which Lightroom does not support.
Which operating system are you running. Is it a Mac or a Windows computer?
Lightroom requires either:
Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
Mac OS X Server v10.7, v10.8 or v10.9
System requirements | Lightroom
If you're running Windows XP, or Vista or Mac O S X 10.6.8 or earlier then you cannot install or run Lightroom. You'll either have to upgrade or get a new computer.

Halartschwartz do you see the Try or Install option next to Bridge CC and Photoshop CC in the Creative Cloud Desktop application? I would also encourage you to review Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html which discusses the process of installing the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership.

Question - recently upgraded my OS to Mavericks on MacBood Pro and can not download Lightroom 5 from Cloud, get continuous wheel effect (not the dreaded colored pinwheel, but a continuous circle of dashes). Anyone know how to fix this?

You description is far too vague to make sense of it. You have not explained what the problem actually was/ is, i.e. what warnings you get/ got, which functions didn't work properly and so on. Win 8 per se is not an issue and there is no general flaw in the software. Whatever issues you have are specific to your system and we would need to know much, much more to even begin to guess.

Trouble Downloading Lightroom 5

Lightroom 5 is taking a REALLY long time to download onto my new Mac. After about three hours yesterday with only 6% completion, I canceled it and restarted the download and left it overnight, but when I woke up, it was only at 3%. I received it as a gift and am downloading it with a code that came on a software download card. It only took me about an hour to download the trial software onto my PC about a month ago so I'm fairly sure it shouldn't be taking that long. Any suggestions?

I suggest you download again from the free trial page. You can use the link below and then validate the software after installation with your product serial number which will make it permanent.
After you click the download now button it starts by downloading or updating (replace) the Adobe Download Assistant. You then browse the products and select Photoshop Lightroom 5 to start the installation.

You can install the software on two computers with no issue, so go ahead and install on the new computer as Mylenium indicated above. Here is some more information on the topic in case you are interested:

If you want to install the software on a third computer, deactivate the software on the computer on which you will no longer use the software. Then, activate the software on the new computer.

I'm having major issues dowloading Adobe Flash Player onto my Mac Book Pro and currently working with version 10.5.8. Any ideas on how i can resolve this. I get as far as the Install Adobe Flash Player icon bouncing on my task bar and that's about it.

Trouble downloading Lightroom Sample Image

Anyone else having problems downloading the Lightroom Sample Image from the Adobe Store? I purchased Lightroom a few days ago and successfully downloaded the application, but cannot download the sample image which is also on the download list from this order. When I first clicked on it, I got the dialog box (Windows) asking whether I wanted to reset the Quicktime MIME type associations back to Quicktime. I answered "no" the first couple of tries, and got no download, so I answered "yes", and still no download.

When trying to download the instructions using the Download Manager, I get an "inactive plug-in" message even after installing the Java plugin and restarting the browser. If I try the other option, I get a foreign language. Can anyone help?

I am having problems downloading my old CS3 Design Premium onto my new MacBook Pro. I understand I need to download this from the website since my computer no longer has a CD drive. I went online and downloaded the Creative Cloud Installer and it doesn't allow me to download an older version of the Creative Suite or any of the Photoshop/Indesign/Illustrator products - the only option is 2014.
Every time I use this link (Download CS3 products) to download the older version, I get the following error:

It sounds as if your browser and some of your apps are not color-managed. This is pretty typical. Even IE9 is only partially color-managed.
You can expect color-managed and non-color-managed applications to show you different things with the same images. How different will depend upon how different your monitor color profile is from the image's color profile.
For web publication and most general use, experts usually advise saving images with the sRGB profile. If such images, saved through the Save for Web & Devices function, look different to you than you expect, it may be that your input images have previously been saved in another color space.
You should really try to get your head around color-management by reading more on it. It can seem baffling and it's difficult to understand without some background. A quick web search turns up many overviews. Beware, though, even people writing articles sometimes don't fully understand it.
