Trouble in runclient on SavingsAccount example

I am following the J2EE Tutorial. I'm on the
j2eetutorial/doc/BMP2.html#63189
part of the tutorial. Not sure what does
Binding name:`java:comp/env/ejb/SimpleSavingsAccount` means. I didn't recompile the SavingsAccount example when using the "deploytool" I just open->file use the examples/ears/SavingsAccountApp.ear.
Below is what my error looks like when I runclient
Hope I can get some idea. Thanks.

Hi Bob,
1. Basically, I follow step by step and it work for me.
2. Here is what I did
..:\j2eetutorial\doc\GettingStarted.html
I install and set up as in this step and then do the saving account example and it work.
3. All you need is go slowly. You might have forgot 1 step along the way. Good luck.

  • Trouble With Web Services Tutorial Examples

I am having trouble getting the Web Services Tutorial examples to run.
For example, when I compiled the hello1 example, and tried to run it, I got a directory listing. All the directory listing contained was the dukewaving.gif file.
When I tried to run hello2, I got something similar. This time though, there were two jsp files in the listing. By clicking on the first one, I was able to run the application.
Now I can't run the bookstore1 example. I went back a second time, to be sure that I was following the instructions exactly as written. I am gettng an HTTP Status 404 - Servlet BookStoreServlet is not available.
I don't know why this is happening. There were no errors when I ran the Ant targets, and the WAR file did get copied to the webapps directory.
I would be very grateful for any help. I am very new to Java and am finding this very frustrating.
    Thank You,
    Chrissy

  • Trouble with customer-cmp-ear example for new sun application server 9.0

recently, i have been playing with sun Java system application server 9.0 and try a couple of examples, but i was in trouble. for example, i try customer-cmp-ear example, and i can create db, but i can not Set up JDBC resources, and i always get the following error:
CLI146 /path/to/passwordfile does not exist in the file system or read permission denied.
i take a look at the description of the example, one thing i do not quite understand, at the common instruction, i am required to set javaee.server.passwordfile property, does it mean i have to create a passwordfile? where do I put it ? i hope someone can help me, i will really appreciate it.

    I solved it.
    Change the file"build.properties.sample" to
    "build.properties"
Maybe it's a bug in J2ee TutorialThe instructions in the About chapter tell you to copy build.properties.sample to build.propertieshttp://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/?wp405013&About.html#wp87965

  • Trouble with simple Query by Example

Hey all, I am well aware that similar topics are all over the forums. I've exhausted myself fishing around for just the right thread.
I am new to APEX. I have this book "Easy Oracle HTML-DB". It is somewhat helpful, but its examples are hard to follow - possibly because the product keeps moving along.
I have a simple single table listing report. I wanted to add some selection criteria and was attempting to do so in a new region on the same page as outlined in this book. I added a few text fields and tied them into the query without issue. To submit the criteria, I added a "Go" button (just like the book says) and tied a "Reset Pagination" process to it.
The book example doesn't specify button branching conditions. Without any though, clicking "Go" causes an error: "ERR-1777: Page XX provided no page to branch to." . So I added a branch back to the same page. Now it appears to be working, but it resets all my selection field values and runs the same report over again.
I think a workaround is simply to put the criteria in a separate page altogether. I'm just about resigned to taking this approach. It sure looks like people do this all the time though. What did I miss ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Snake

Rene said: "It's also nice to add : onKeyPress="checkEnter(event)"
to the HTML Form Element Attributes of the items in the search region. This way you can also start the search by pressing Enter in the item."
    Hi Rene,
I'd like to include the feature, but the action is no different with or without this attribute. When you press enter, it just stays there in the field.
Nice to note though that most every behavior I've checked is the same whether using Firefox or IE. I like browser independence.

Get This MLBAutobahnNexDef Whasit off my Activity Monitor
    1. Open your User folder.
    2. Go to Library folder ( might need to press down option key when select Go to find Library)> Application Support > Swarmcast
    3. Click UninstallAutobahn.command
Wait and pray. Phew! Gone. It'll probably open your Unix terminal.
[[EDIT: ACK! OSX Lion has hidden the Library folder. It's still there. TO find the User's Library folder in OSX, go to Finder and choose Go > Go to Folder... and type ~/Library in the box. ]]

  • Verification Example in Collaborate - Fails

    Software(s) : WebLogic Server w/Sp9, WebLogic Collaborate w/RosettNet v
    1.0(Full Install), JDK 1.2.2, Oracle 8.1.6
    OS : Windows NT 4 .0 w/Sp6
Hardware : 128MB RAM, plenty of disk space
I've installed WebLogic Collab. for RosettaNet (Full Install). Having
    trouble running the Installation Verification
example as mentioned in the readme file.
I'm able to create the database schema but unable to "Bulkload Repository
Data". Trying to load the data gives a java.exe
application error as reported by Dr. Watson.
However, if I modify the file BulkLoadOracleConfig.xml for using Oracle thin
drivers (by Oracle) then the database is successfully populated but running
the Program->C-Hub->Start C-Hub fails with the same Dr. Watson error. Worth
mentioning is: The "wlcPool" as defined in
<WLC_HOME>\hub\weblogic.properties is being created successfully(by the log
messages). Also, I'm able to execute the sample Weblogic OCI(jDriver)

Any replies would be highly appreciated.

This is adapted from the Savings Account example. I couldn't get it to work either
from the source provided though it did work with the provided ear. I have been
comparing the difference in setting but can see anything.
I have been able to build and deploy all the other examples in the tutorial but I am somehow
    stuck on ejbs.
    Help would be much appreciated.
    cheers,
    paul

Just had a look at the client jar. The one generated by the Savings Account provided ear has got a shorter ejb-jar.xml. It doesn't have the functions specified like the one in its ear file.
Another difference thet the Manifest.mf files for my client jar do not have as many paths specified
as my test client jar. Don't know why. I am suspecting that maybe there is a slight configuration problem in my j2ee setup. Though I am not sure waht or what to look for. I hope this little bit of
    extra info helps.
    cheers,
    paul.

  • Can't copy with LaCie Network Attached Storage and Time Capsule/Airport

    Hi,
I bought a Time Capsule to replace my recently faulty modem/router Linksys AG241 and in preparation of buying my first mac in the next few months.
Right now the network is as follows:
    — 1 Linksys AM200 modem connected to the TC by ethernet and set to bridge mode
    — 2 windowsXP pcs attached by ethernet to the Time Capsule
    — 1 NAS (LaCie 2Big Network) attached by ethernet to the Time Capsule
Despite some initial problems configuring the modem in bridge mode, the present problem is the following:
Everytime I try to copy a file (it can be either an 4MB file or an 800MB one) I get this error window:
    — Cannot copy "Filename": the specified network name is no longer available
Even when copying a file from one Share of the disk to another! However, have no trouble copying 1KB file, for example.
I've been searching throughout the internet for some days now but couldn't find any answer.
This LaCie NAS External Disk is ethernet-only and can only be connected to a switch or a router. It worked before with my older modem/router. I changed the ethernet cable by another one and I get the same result.
The Time Capsule is cofigured to distribute IPs through DHCP. Right now, I even have enabled the DHCP reservations to assign a static IP to the NAS, and to the Pcs. STill the same result.
This happens on both pcs. Still haven't tried with a wireless device yet (I don't have one).
Can anyone help me solve this?

Ok. I've ran a test on a friend's network in order to clarify if the LaCie NAS was the hardware causing this issue.
Well, it isn't. The NAS worked fine on this other network setting - which uses a different router, modem and 2 different computers.
The test ocurred in Wireless G, though, not by Ethernet connection with the computers.
*So I guess the problem must be on my Time Capsule or Modem?*
    *Possibly a configuration issue.*
Does anyone has/had some problem connecting Ethernet External Disks on a Time Capsule/Airport that can share some Solution ?
    Please, Help!?

  • Reading from XML

    Hey everyone,
Im new to the whole JavaXML thing and i'm having a bit of trouble. I found an example that is able to read XML but it doesnt seem to read it if the tags are blank, it throws an exception.
Please if anyone can help me with anything.
    Thanks alot
    Robert

Ah, now I see what you mean by "the tag values are blank". You mean you have an empty element. (It helps if you use standard terminology rather than terms you made up yourself.) Like this:<name></name>I can't see from that code what textUIDList is, but maybe it's null. Or if it isn't then maybe (Node)textUIDList.item(0)).getNodeValue() is null. That wouldn't surprise me because getNodeValue() returns null for a good many types of Node. Check out the API documentation for org.w3c.dom.Node, it's got a nice chart telling you about that.
    Quick terminology lesson:
This is an element: <name>Bozo The Clown</name>. Please don't call it a tag.
It consists of a start tag: <name> plus an end tag: </name> plus some contents which in this case are text: Bozo The Clown.
The name of the element is "name".

  • About query Operator in find page??

    hi all~
I hava a trouble about query operator.
    for example:
In find page , there are some attribute for query.
attribute BRAND for query the vender's name,
Assume database has the follow data:
      BRAND
    =================
    1.IBM
    2.RedIBM
    3.BLUEIBMCO
Case 1:When i input IBM in BRAND attribute and press Find, the result is :IBM
Case 2:When i input %IBM in BRAND attribute and press Find, the result is : RedIBM,BLUEIBMCO
How could I get above two result just input IBM??
I want to serch the value of BRAND that contain IBM whether it location at the frond or middle.

    Spray Lin,
I'm afraid that this time I do not quite understand what you are after.
When I understand you correctly, you are saying that the current behavior is not what I think it should be, for example IBM results in IBM and IBMblue. That is strange indeed.
Furthermore is it that when you try to find on IBM it should find everything with IBM in it? Said in other words, entering IBM should have the same result as entering %IBM%?
If that is the case, you can achieve that by adding an extra property to the find form bean: "wildcardUsage". Setting this to "surround" will result in a "%" being put in front and at the end of the value you enter.
You can look this up in the JHeadstart Developers Guide in the section Model-Aware Form Beans.

  • AP54G generates a strange noise while operating

    Hello guys!
Is that normal, that my MSI AP54G Access Point generates a silent, strange noise (like a TV when there's no signal), while it is operating? I noticed it one or two days ago and I don't know, whether it is a normal thing or not. Ummm... I think, I have to tell you, that some days ago I dropped the AP (accidentally) from about one meter high... so I think that can be the reason why the AP emits such a strange noise. Anyway, it is operating perfectly, it has a very strong and stable signal and I'm fully satisfied with it, but I'm afraid, that this noise could cause some trouble in the future, for example burn down the AP or even explode it?
    Thanks for your help!
    Greetings:
    Gery

    Thanks... you are very helpful...
Don't you guys use this AP? I'm the only one, who uses it? Well, I think not.
And what about you guys working for MSI?? You don't read the forum of your own company??
