Trouble with incomplete syncing with icloud

Only my calendar and contacts have synced using iCloud. Any ideas as to how I might remedy this or what I might be doing wrong?

I finally found another thread that answers part of my question: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16339884#16339884. Apparently Reminders syncing is allowed only through iCloud.

    Trouble with iCloud:
    Equipment:   Mac mini,  OSX 10.7.4
                        iPod iOS 5.1.1
I have done and then repeatedly reread the iCloud instructions on each.
I have up to date copies of Pages running on both devices.
The Pages documents appear on both devices when I look at the iCloud display. There appears no way to download these documents on the Mac mini.    I have tried to upload current documents written on Mac mini (including this one) with no success. There appears to be no ‘save to Cloud’ function.   In addition, there appears to be no way to give a document made on the iPod its own name.  I have  Blank,  Blank 1,  Blank 2 etc.
The other iPod application that is using iCloud is DraftPad
I have no way to determine if Calendar  information is going through iCloud or if it is going back and forth by way of the normal synchronization process.    On the iCloud display I have checked Calendars and Documents & Data on both devices.   There is no    active usage storage indicator bar at the bottom of the display.    When I look at  Management storage I have Pages 2 MB, Mail 1.4 KB, DraftPad 1.4KB   and Backups 0KB.  (I am keeping Time Machine backups on separate external hard drive).
As it stands iCloud is useless and not generating much confidence with me.  I think I would be much happier to make other arrangements.  I’m considering an attempt to cancel my use of iCloud.

On the Mini go to icloud.com, sign in.
    - To upload to an iOS iWorks app click on iWorks and then oh the app you want. Then click on the gear icon in the upper rihgt.. You have option to upload. To download, clcikonthe docuyment you want to download and a download button will appear.
    - To check the Clalender and otheriClud serves, just click in them after signing in to icloud.com.

  • Is anyone having trouble with iCloud email?

I am using iCloud for all of my mail.  I use it on iCloud.com and also with iMail.  I use it for my iPhone, iMac and MacBook Pro.  For the past three days I have been having a terrible time receiving email from my personal friends.  I can get email from commercial entities like DirectTV, Facebook, ASPCA, etc. but nothing when my friends try to email me.  I have spent several hours on the phone with Apple advanced tech support but it's still not working and I am supposed to call them back today.  After changing many settings, the tech told me it might be a corrupt email address and we would completely remove my email address from my computer and type it in fresh which we did.  I then was able to send myself a test email and I did receive that.  I am still able to send and receive to myself.  I then went to my neighbor and did the same thing on his computer with my email address, removed it completely and then put it in anew.  Then I sent myself an email from his computer but it didn't work.  I haven't received the email.  I have asked several people to email me today.  I did not receive any of their emails but am still receiving emails from other entities.  A friend of mine said they are having trouble with iCloud but when I asked the tech, he said he wasn't aware of it.  So, I have no idea if it's something on my computer or if there is a problem with iCloud.  Can anyone help me out?  It's so discouraging.  Thanks much.
By the way, this problem exists on all my products -- iPhone, MacBook Pro as well as my iMac

I'm having the same problem, except I'm not receiving ANY email (not even from businesses etc).  This has been going on for a week now.  I had not upgraded my OS, so that cannot be the cause.  It was just suddenly not receiving emails.  I can send, but cannot receive.  I can log in to icloud.com but when I select MAIL, it will not load, and says application not availble.  Today, I opened Mail Preferences and added a email account using my same email address ([email protected]) and it worked fine, gathered all my missing emails.  But it was using the name iCloud instead of my name, and created a new mailbox for all the mail.  I want to use my mailbox I've used for years...so I deleted it.  It was just a test, but don't really know what was accomplished because my original email still does not receive mail.
Last week I had sent a msg to Apple Support about the problem, and got a reply...so I think they know there is a problem.  Perhaps they just don't know what the solution is so will not acknowledge the issue yet.
I'm still waiting for a solution, too.  Extremely inconvenient, most of us rely heavily on email.

    Hello tw_mama,
I was looking into the issue you are experiencing and found an article that may shed some light on the subject. It's called iCloud: Account troubleshooting found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3988
    This section in particluar:
I get an "Unsupported Apple ID" error when I try to sign in to iCloud from my iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Depending on how you created your Apple ID, you may not be able to create an iCloud account with your current Apple ID. If your Apple ID works in the iTunes Store, App Store, Game Center, FaceTime, or with other Apple Services, your Apple ID should work for iCloud. Also, if you created your Apple ID while you applied for a job at jobs.apple.com, your Apple ID should work for iCloud. If you cannot use your Apple ID with any Apple Services, it might not be compatible with iCloud. Contact iCloud Support for assistance.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • I have an iPhone and just goy I pad but no computer I'm trying to synch them together but having trouble with iCloud and I can't seem to subscribe for iTunes match from either devise

I have an iPhone and just goy I pad but no computer I'm trying to synch them together but having trouble with iCloud and I can't seem to subscribe for iTunes match from either devise

You first have to subscribe to iTunes Match through iTunes on your computer and have your music library in iTunes uploaded/matched before you can enable it on your iOS devices (see http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/).  Without a computer you won't be able to use iTunes Match.

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

  • Trouble with iCloud calendar in iCal after iOS 8 upgrade

After having upgraded my iPhone to iOS 8, I get the following recurring error message in iCal:
The server responded with an error.
Access to account “iCloud” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
The calendars are syncing despite the error message, but it is very frustrating having to click "OK" or "Try Again" every few seconds.
There are no issues in iOS or icloud.com.
I enabled iCloud Drive when upgrading.
Same error occurs with same iCloud account on two different Macs - one running Mavericks and one Yosemite.
I have tried removing my iCloud account on both Macs and using my husband's instead. His was upgraded without any issues and works just fine on the same two machines.
I have tried deleting all my calendars and removing all sharing thus only having one empty calendar, but the problem persists.
Now I have no more ideas.
    Please help!

Similar issue. iCal was working fine when i was running the beta version of Yosemite, since upgrading to the public release I can't use it due to this constant error.  I have deselected the calendar within iCloud settings but still get the error.
    Anyone help?

  • Trouble with icloud restoring

    Hello,
I have restored my iphone setup via iCloud here with iphone 6th
But now 4 hours after standing still when the screen is locked to restore from iCloud and it does not do anything or downloaded anything.
I have updated to 8.0.2 via computer, because it could not be updated because it stood was about to restore.
What could be causing and how do I fix it?
    Thomas

Apple's explaination of this warning message is:
"This message is provided if you decide to cancel a background restore. If you proceed you will need to restore again to get all your data on your device, or download your music, apps, and other data again in another way. The best way to avoid this is to not cancel a background restore. If you do cancel a restore, make sure you have copies of the data that was not restored. If you wish to restart a canceled restore, you will need to erase all the content and settings on your device and reinitiate the restore during the iOS Setup Assistant."
My interpretation of this is that if you cancel the restore, the remaining data in the backup will not be restored to your phone until you restore again, unless you have copies of the missing data that you can restore to your device another way (such as by syncing).  I believe you'll be able to restore the backup again, you will just need to go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go back through the setup screens on your phone and when given the option, choose Restore to iCloud backup and this time enter the correct iCloud ID.

  • Trouble with iCloud 2 factor authentication in outlook app

I am using 2 factor authentication on my iCloud account.  I recently downloaded and setup Microsoft's new outlook app on my iPhone and iPad.  I find it very useful for what I like to do.  I added all of my email accounts as well as dropbox and other things with no issue (gmail, outlook, and dropbox have 2 factor enabled as well).  I generated a passcode for iCloud on the 'manage apple ID' site.  I inputted it into the iPhone first and it worked like a charm. Then, however, I did the same thing on my iPad. Initially, I generated a new passcode, and used that for the iPad.  It worked, but then when I used the iPhone I got the message "We are having trouble accessing your account.  Please login again."  And it brings up the window to put in the passcode.  I thought it might work if I used the same password for both the iPad and iPhone but the same thing happens.  As soon as I put a passcode in one the other stops working.
Some more details in case it is relevant.  I use outlook on the PC as well (also uses generated iCloud passcode), and it is unaffected.  As I said, I use other accounts with 2 factor, and they all work fine on both the iPad and iPhone in the same app.  I am using an iPhone 6 Plus and a 4th Gen iPad, both running iOS 8.1.3.  I am nowhere near the maximum generated app passwords under iCloud.  I am receiving an email each time I generate a passcode and it shows up in my history.  I am giving the passcodes different names.

    Hi,
You'll have to create an App-specific password to work around this.
    Go to:   https://appleid.apple.com/account/home
    Select: Manage your Apple ID
Log in with your credentials and if applicable your Verification Code
    Select: Password and Security
    Select: Generate an App-Specific password
You'll have to give the app a name. You can use the generated password for Outlook. You can use the same password on all of your iDevices that has Outlook for iOS if applicable.
    Have fun
    Lennard

  • Troubles with iCloud/Appleid

I have recently changed email addresses, so I updated my appleid through iTunes. I am able to purchase things, so I know it is working, but I am having trouble getting iCloud to recognize it. I have read these forums looking for answers, but nothing seems to be working. I signed out of iCloud on my mac and iPhone, but when I try to sign in with my new id it tells me that the usename and/or password are incorrect. Any insight?
    Thanks!

    Hey Dorian O.,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are receiving notifications on your Mac to approve iCloud keychain. Have you tried using your iCloud security code or your SMS-capable device instead?:
Frequently asked questions about iCloud Keychain - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204085
How do I set up iCloud Keychain on a new device without another device to approve from?
If you can't access any of your other devices that are using iCloud Keychain, you can still set up iCloud Keychain on another device if you have these items:
    Your iCloud Security Code
The device that is using the SMS-capable phone number you provided when you first set up iCloud Keychain. A verification code is sent via SMS to this phone number. If you can't access this number, contact Apple Support, who can verify your identity, so that you can complete setup on your new device.
After you complete the setup, your iCloud Keychain will be pushed from the cloud to the new device.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Trouble with iCloud restore - should I "Stop restoring iPhone"?

I had to replace my iPhone 4 and am restoring from an iCloud backup, but I changed my Apple ID email address just prior to getting iCloud set up. My phone won't complete the restoration until I enter the password for my Apple ID - but it's the old email address that they're asking for the password with. This is the wrong account ID email, so the password isn't accepted. (The old Apple ID email address didn't even have iCloud!) The restore won't complete without me entering my password, but the iPhone also won't let me change my Apple ID to the correct, new Apple ID email address while my phone is still restoring, saying:
"You cannot delete your iCloud account because your account is being restored" - I take this to mean that I can't switch it to the proper ID while my phone is still restoring. However, if I elect to "Stop Restoring iPhone" from the options under "Storage and Backup" - it gives me an "are you sure" screen that says "Stop Restoring iPhone? Any data that has not been downloaded will not be restored or backed up in the future." Well most of my stuff has not completed downloading - it needs me to enter my password for that - nor have any of my pictures, which is what I am most worried about.
If I press "Stop Restoring iPhone" so that I can change it to the correct Apple ID, will this cause me to lose the data that I've been trying to restore forever? This seems like the only way I can change it to the correct Apple ID... but the warning message makes me very nervous.

Apple's explaination of this warning message is:
"This message is provided if you decide to cancel a background restore. If you proceed you will need to restore again to get all your data on your device, or download your music, apps, and other data again in another way. • All of my apps are gone, and I'm having trouble with iCloud

Let me preface this by saying that Apple made me change my password a few days ago, before I downloaded the new IoS software. So I synced my music, videos and apps to my PC this afternoon before downloading the new software. I downloaded the software, and now my apps are missing from my iPad AND my PC, even after I synced them. To make things even more confusing, when I entered my new password, it said it was invalid. I entered my old one, and it worked. No apps there. And I tried verifying my Apple ID, I clicked the link and filled out the info, and it said there was already a user with my e-mail. I'm trying to re-access it, and it says it still hasn't been verified on my iPad. What do I do?
Edit: Never mind, everything is fine now.

That's because your son's ID was used to make the purchases.  ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.

Also, when I turn on the ipad and am prompted for my password, it no longer accepts the password I had previously.  What do I need to do?
Restore.  Everything is restored except the password.  Note that a Restore can take quite a while.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
When the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad.  Say "YES" and be prepared for a long wait (several hours).  That prompt has a timer and will disappear if you do not respond to it within a reasonable time.  If you leave the computer and return and see that the iPad has only the built-in apps, simply click the manual "Sync" button (bottom right).

  • Having trouble with Icloud

I just downloaded icloud and can't figure out how to use it. Iused the Help site and it suggests an icloud icon in the upper left corner but I don't see it. For example, my System Preferences shows "Documents and Data but it dos'nt show up when I sign in to my icloud account. I need help getting this setup properly

When I had no new mail, and the mail in my outbox hadn't gone out I called Apple Care. Naturally when I was on the the phone with them, the web site let me get to mail, and once I manually took my iCloud mailbox online everything was working.
Odd that so few people appear to have been affected. The first thing I did this morning was to check some of the Apple news sites to see the normal screams of outrage and found nothing.
But I appear to be back in business now. Hope you are, too. But still sorry to say that I was glad to hear that it wasn't my imagination.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have OS X Lion and it requires OS X Mountain Lion. You can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion, so open App Store > Purchases, and download Mountain Lion (I tell you this because it looks like you already have Mountain Lion in your other iMac; if you didn't purchase Mountain Lion, purchase it).
While it's being downloaded, make a backup of your files and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com When the download finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will show up, so follow its steps. After upgrading, open a iWork application and you will be able to see the iCloud files.
Another way to see them without upgrading is to open http://www.icloud.com, log on with your Apple ID and select iWork
