Try challenges from Win 8.1 Pro and Win 7 clients to OneDrive server
Cases: m files marked to be uploaded from Win 8.1 Pro client to OneDrive
Problem 1: if the nth file upload fails then file n+1, n+2 ... m will not be uploaded!
Note1: there should be possibility to define retry count and have default, for example 3
instead of having manually to and to monitor how uploading is going on!
Case 2: files k,k+1 ... k+n already exist in OneDrive and the uploading process notifies this
Problem 2: commanding retry will not help, not even if repeated - in facto the upload fails !
Note2: obviously there is a bug in OneDrive server software, because if one aborts the whole upload,
starts again and monitors upload and immediatelly command to retry or
first deletes those files to prevent "file already exist"
the upload gets done!
Problem 3: extreme cases such as 999 files to upload seem to cause problems
Note 3: extreme tests lacking ?
Problem 4: it looks like the try command of the programming language is not being used
Note 4: "sorry something went wrong" error message is too general whereas by using try ... except
feature offered by programming language more detailed error messages would be available
Problem 5: some Win 7 clients have reported that after having taken the OneDrive in use the client computer
has become too slow to use - even if there is no transmission going on !
Note 5: feedbacks more from mobile clients using Windows 7 laptops

Well, my two-month-old MBP has no qualms about booting from a no-name external USB HD I put together...
Given that is is a common point of failure, I would imagine a large Apple Store should keep a stock of HD's on hand.
Now since you're a bit desperate and the genie pops up til Saturday and you seem to be the enterprising kind, let's try an experiment: if you have room enough in the external HD and assuming it isn't a Time Machine volume, why don't you plug it in, stick the Install CD and see if the installer lets you select the external drive as the install target. If you can install Leopard on it, on top of the backup without reformatting, and the Mac can boot from the drive afterwards, at least you would have some functionality restored and would be able to pull your stuff from the internal HD. Apple says booting from USB drives is not supported but that does not equate to not possible; some brands do work. Risks? Always. You can always lose your backup. Like I said, a challenge for an enterprising gal....
Next time around, consider having a bootable external clone at hand for rainy days. I keep three myself...

Running Oracle Appn from Win ME client
My organisation has a software that runs on an Oracle8i database. Both the application and database are sitting on a Win NT server. When we try to activate the application s/w from a Win ME client, the software cannot start at all. Our software vendor told us it is because Oracle is not compatible with Win ME. Is that true?
Where can I get info on what OS Oracle is certified to run on?

Pros and Cons of Application Isolation/Multiple server instances?
Hi. I'm setting a new server using ColdFusion Enterprise with Apache to migrate several web application from and old server with ColdFusion 7 server. I'm currently doing research regarding multiple server instances in order to have a separate server for production apps and another for development apps (see http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf363c31-7ff 5.html and https://wikidocs.adobe.com/wiki/display/coldfusionen/Using+Multiple+Server+Instanceshttp:/ /). In addition, I'm also doing research regarding application isolation to have separate production application in separate servers. I'm trying to identify all pros and cons for both "Application Isolation" and "Multiple Server Instances" to make a decision on whether I will proceed in applying these techniques. I have found several links that talk about some of the advantages but have not been able to find anything regarding possible disadvantages. Have anyone in this forum has used any of the techniques, and can provide more information/experiences regarding the pros and cons?

Whether to go for Multiserver instances or Single server, is totally a user requirement based decison. If a user has Single website, or multiple websites (of the same nature, in terms of functionality), usually the part of same domain, then they would go for Single sever installation. One single instance will handle the requests from all the websites (if there are multiple). There would not be a clustering/failover setup within ColdFusion and can use the ColdFusion Standard or Enterprise version.
On the other hand, if a user has multiple websites, all with different functionality and have multiple applications (may or may not) running, then they can go for Multiserver installation. Each website can be configured with individual instances. Clustering can be done within ColdFusion if needed. One would need an Enterprise license of ColdFusion for the same.

Are you just pushing files from your machine to a linux box, or are you looking to create a file load application for end-users with a File Browse item in Apex, and then drop what you uploaded onto the server?
If it is just really wanting to ftp from your machine to a linux box, try an app like FileZilla FTP Client (provided you have rights to the linux box).

I've upgraded from PC to MacBook Pro and iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 - HELP!!!
I am currently using a PC and have my iPhone 3GS synced to that unit.
I decided to upgrade my PC to a MacBook Pro two days ago and have received my new iPhone 4 today.
My question is – how am I able to get my current iPhone 3GS back up that is on my PC on to my new MacBook pro so that I can sync my music/contacts/notes/messages etc to my new iPhone 4?
I have avoided syncing my current iPhone 3GS to the new MacBook as I knew I would be receiving my iPhone 4 this week.
Please help – Losing my iPhone data is not an option as I have extremely important contacts/text messages that I need to keep for legal reasons. I really do not want to have to lose all of my data because I have upgraded and purchased better technology from your company.I found this article:

This may qualify as inept problem of the year. Opened tube of crazy glue with a pin down the nozzle and the interior pressure squirted two tiny shots of glue onto screen. I was two or so feet away from Mac Book Pro. Tried to remove them quickly but of course that only left behind two smudges. Any ideas?
Take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you. Will be cheaper than paying for a new screen if you scratch or tear it using a razor blade.

If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Continue if you find that Wi-Fi is faster with Bluetooth disabled.
From that same menu, select Open Bluetooth Preferences. If the box labeled Discoverable is checked, uncheck it. Click the Advanced button, and in the sheet that opens, uncheck the top three boxes, if any are checked. Click OK. Enable Bluetooth and test again.
If the application called "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" is running, quit it.

Error while using implicit remoting from Win 7 Client
Anyone who can help with below error while implicit remoting in exchange 2010, i have verified WinRM service, and currently using power-shell v2 both on client and server.
Error Code:
Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot process the request.
The following error occured while using Kerberos authentication: A specified logon session does not exist. It may alre
ady have been terminated.
Possible causes are:
-The user name or password specified are invalid.
-Kerberos is used when no authentication method and no user name are specified.
-Kerberos accepts domain user names, but not local user names.
-The Service Principal Name (SPN) for the remote computer name and port does not exist.
-The client and remote computers are in different domains and there is no trust between the two domains.
After checking for the above issues, try the following:
-Check the Event Viewer for events related to authentication.
-Change the authentication method; add the destination computer to the WinRM TrustedHosts configuration setting or us
e HTTPS transport.
Note that computers in the TrustedHosts list might not be authenticated.
