Try to get JDNI tree (NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/jndi/Environment)
hiya,
I try to get access to the jdni tree of a weblogic server (8.1). But I always get the exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/jndi/Environment
javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/jndi/Environment
at javax.faces.component.MethodBindingMethodExpressionAdapter.invoke(MethodBindingMethodExpressionAdapter.java:102)
I added the weblogic.jar and the wlclient.jar. Is something still missing?
Here's a part of the Code, where the exception occurres:
private static InitialContext getContext(){
bq. InitialContext ctx = null; \\ Environment environment = new Environment(); /*ERROR*/ \\ environment.setInitialContextFactory(Environment.DEFAULT_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY); \\ environment.setProviderUrl(url); \\ environment.setSecurityPrincipal(username); \\ environment.setSecurityCredentials(password); \\ try { ctx = (InitialContext) environment.getInitialContext(); \\ } catch (NamingException e) { System.out.println(e.getMessage()); } \\ return ctx;
Hope that somebody can help me...
thanks,
traysa
hm... I'm not authorised to change something in the script.
is there no other way... ?
Here's the code from the edocs of weblogic 8.1. The Code is trying to retrieve the MBeanHome from an external Client:
public void action() {
MBeanHome home = null;
//domain variables
String url = "t3://xxx";
String username = "xxx";
String password = "xxx";
//Setting an initial context.
try {
Environment env = new Environment();
env.setProviderUrl(url);
env.setSecurityPrincipal(username);
env.setSecurityCredentials(password);
Context ctx = env.getInitialContext();
//Retrieving the Administration MBeanHome interface
home = (MBeanHome) ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
result = "Got the Admin MBeanHome: " + home + " from the Admin server";
} catch (Exception e) {
System.out.println("Exception caught: " + e);
here's a short summary of problems I have:
1. Environment
Trying to get the initial context from the environment:
Environment env = new Environment();
env.setProviderUrl(url);
env.setSecurityPrincipal(username);
env.setSecurityCredentials(password);
Context ctx = env.getInitialContext();
exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/jndi/Environment
2. MBeanHome
instead of Environment, I'm using a Hashstable.
home = (MBeanHome) ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
The attempt to get the MBeanHome throws following exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/management/MBeanHome
I just don't understand why it doesn't work. Have I missed some settings?
I'm using JDK 1.5, Developing in Eclipse, added the libs weblogic.jar, wlclient.jar and rt.jar,...
thx

NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
HiWell when i run the client i get this Exception of ClassNotFound Exception:weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate Exception. I have included the path \weblogic\classes in my classpath environment variable. Will anyone please let me know what class or jar does it point to Thank u
You should include <weblogic-home>/classes directory in your CLASSPATH. Your
problem is that when you try to instantiate InitialConetext object, JNDI
system cannot find weblogic's context factory.

Hello all.
I have a problem using my EJB. The <subject> error occures when I call
InitialContext().
What may be the problem? I've used network monitor to see what
connections are made to port 7001 (My Weblogic server's port) and none are
made
so I figured that the problem must be connected to my side and not the
server's side. I think it's probably got something to do with the urlwhich
right now is:
"t3://ServerComputerOnLan:7001". If I change the "ServerComputerOnLan"to
whatever I still get the same exception so I don't know what the problem
might be. Maybe It's connected to the "t3" ? Maybe I should use somespecial
packages?
Here's an example from my code:
import java.sql.*;
import java.util.*;
import javax.naming.*;
Hashtable environment = new Hashtable();
environment.put(javax.naming.Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
environment.put(javax.naming.Context.PROVIDER_URL,"t3://10.0.0.2:7001");
environment.put(javax.naming.Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, username);
environment.put(javax.naming.Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
try {
Context ic = new InitialContext(environment);
I'm using Windows2000
JDeveloper
Weblogic 5.1
Please help...
TIA

1. What version/service pack of Weblogic?
2. It looks like you are configured for a cluster. Is that correct?
3. Have you followed the documentation for configuring classpaths and

Adapter JNDI are errored out in JNDI tree on Weblogic
Hey,
I have setup weblogic 10.3.4 and SOA Suite 11g.
The adapters seem to be deployed and active with a green 'OK' status in the deployments on the soa_server1. However when I go to the jndi tree for the soa_server1, all the adapters have an '!' for errored out.
This is causing various problems. In particular when a process using the Oracle Apps Adapter is deployed it is unable to find the jdbc connection associated with the adapter. However, the jdbc jndi entry is in the tree and the jdbc connection test's just fine.
So there seems to be a missing link in how the adapters are deployed and how the JNDI is getting updated or something.
The error is below. Any help appreciated.

Please correct the reported issue and redeploy the BPEL process.Hey,
I have setup weblogic 10.3.4 and SOA Suite 11g.

EJB deployed but doesnt show up in JNDI tree on weblogic
Hi,
I have a sample EJB deployed on weblogic 10.3 server. My Bean class contains following code.
========================================================================
@Stateless (mappedName = "DemoEJB")
@TransactionManagement(TransactionManagementType.BEAN)
public class DemoBean implements SessionBean {
static final boolean verbose = true;
private transient SessionContext ctx;
private transient Properties props;
@SuppressWarnings("deprecation")
@Override
public void setSessionContext(SessionContext ctx) throws EJBException,
RemoteException {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
if (verbose)
System.out.println("setSessionContext called");
this.ctx = ctx;
props = ctx.getEnvironment();
public String demoSelect()
throws RemoteException
return("hello world");
===========================================================================
I have created a jar file for the above class using eclipse and deployed it on weblogic. I can see the EJB in the <Deployment> on weblogic but it doesnt appear in <EJB> on JNDI tree view. Therefore i cannot access it from my client code (also written in Eclipse IDE).
I will appreciate any guidance in this regard.
Thanks
Regards,
AwaisHi,
i have the same problem with yours
This is my annotation with EJB3.0:
@Stateless(mappedName="ConSession")
@Remote(ConBeanRemote.class)
@Local(ConBean.class)
and i have a weblogic-ejb-jar.xml to define my jndi name
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<weblogic-ejb-jar xmlns:wls="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-ejb-jar"

</stateless-session-descriptor>
<local-jndi-name>com/ConfigurationManagerBeanLocal</local-jndi-name>
</weblogic-enterprise-bean>
</weblogic-ejb-jar>
[ the most important: I also have specify JNDI in a java file like this
beanRemoteJNDIs.put("ConBeanRemote","ConSession#com/staffware/ConBeanRemote");
beanLocalJNDIs.put("ConBean","java:comp/env/com/ConBean");
and i can find the ConSession#com/staffware/ConBeanRemote in the jndi tree . but it shows like Multilevel directory tree
and when i login the website and click the button
.another error comes out :
13:35:55,046 ERROR [EJBDelegate] Unable to lookup reference java:comp/env/com/ConBean for ConBean!

what should i do ?
and should i specify the jndi name in the java file . the JNDI name defined in the weblogic is right?
can you help me ?
thanks very much in advance! -
We have an Issue in Weblogic6.1/7.0, while accessing a bean through Java Client. In the Code, i am providing the Initial Context factory and provider url to
InitialContext Constructor. Weblogic.jar WILL NOT be availabe in the classpath.We are Loading the classes through CustomClassLoader which was written by us by extending java.lang.ClassLoader.
While Constructing the InitialContext, it throws NoInitialContextException, the root exception it says ClassCastException.
With this i am attaching the code snippet:
JarAndClassFileLoader customLoader = JarAndClassFileLoader.getLoaderInstance();
customLoader.pathFileVec.addElement(new ZipFile("c:\\FDRIVE\\bea\\wlserver6.1\\lib\\weblogic.jar"));
Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(customLoader);
Properties prop = new Properties();
prop.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
prop.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"t3://localhost:7001");
InitialContext itl = new InitialContext(prop) ---> Getting the above said NoInitialContextException..
Kindly provide the necessary solutions to overcome this.I guess you did something wrong implementing your classloader(s).
This works with 7.0:
ClassLoader weblogicClassLoader;
Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(
weblogicClassLoader = new URLClassLoader(
new URL[] { new URL("http://localhost:7001/classes/") }
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
env.put("java.naming.provider.url", "t3://localhost:7001");
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(env);

Weblogic JNDI lookup in Applet
Hi
We are facing problem in JNDI lookup inside the applet
here is the scenario
We have two weblogic servers(port 7001)
one server is main server where the Applet1 , weblogic.jar and app.htm
are in C:\bea\wlserver6.0sp1\config\mydomain\applications\DefaultWebApp_myserver
and another is proxy server where HTTPProxyServlet is running and one
web.xml file ( wall these files are provided by weblogic and the port
of proxy server is 448)

Weblogic & JNDI Data Source with proxy user.
We're trying to use Oracle proxy user authentication on a data source configured in WebLogic 10.3.6, however, we want to approach it in a programatic way. So we want to obtain the DataSource, and set the proxy related properties inside the application.
We came up with the following snippet:
Hashtable<String, Object> env = new Hashtable<String, Object>();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://10.1.1.10:7003");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "weblogic");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "weblogic");
Context context = new InitialContext(env);
javax.sql.DataSource ds = (javax.sql.DataSource) context.lookup("ds_puser");
OracleConnection oconn = (OracleConnection) ds.getConnection();
The problem comes up when we try to cast the connection to OracleConnection, the thing is that the returned type is actually a 1036_WLStub.
How can we avoid that type or cast to it to something useful? I found this reference on Oracle forums and he's being able to cast it directly:
Re: My problem in using weblogic Datasource and proxy user
Can someone help us out?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Edited by: 990800 on 27-feb-2013 13:26A DataSource is an Interface. What the code gets from the jndi tree is some concrete object that
the code doesn't need to know the name of, or anything specific about it, as long as it implements
the DataSource Interface, which it successfully casts to, to allow calling the methods defined in the
DataSource Interface. If you call for a plumber, you don't need to know his name as long as you
can get a plumber, and can call the "Fix this leak" method, defined in the Plumber Interface. -

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/rjvm/LocalRJVM
If I create an InitialContext within the main function of my test

I try to call a method on the class that is supposed to create the

creating the InitialContext are identical in 'main' and the helper class
I have to create the InitialContext. I can't
make any sense out of this one. I'm running WLS 5.1 with service pack

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/Server
Dear Sir/Madam
I downloaded the Weblogic610 server five times, and when I install it on my Linux
box (RedHat 7.1), I always met the exception like:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/Server
When I check with lib directory, there is weblogic.jar here, but the file looks
was damaged, the file size is ok, but I can't open it by use jar tool or other
tools.
Some packeage is very strange, after my downloaded, and install, there are only
a few files in lib directory and some subdirectory and weblogic.jar is missing,
but the download is normal.
So, I hope who guy have similar experience, please let me know.
Thank you
CidyHi Raj,
Could you provide more information from the log; is there a full
traceback. A first step may be to use the latest service pack [1].
Also you might try your question in the management newsgroup [2] or
contact our outsanding support group [3].
Hope this is of some value,
Bruce

Hello All,
I have installed wls 8.1 and created domain. I have manged server running at other location.I am getting the following Log,When i tried to start managed server from admin server
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/Server Exception in thread "main"
and on admin side
The request to start the server ecgNode01 of domain CQ6UIDomain failed because the node manager did not hear from the managed server in the configured timeout period. Despite this, if the managed server has not failed, it will come up and the node manager will start monitoring it. To adjust this timeout so that the task does not fail prematurely, please refer to the node manager property ScavangerDelaySeconds (Default value : 180 seconds. Current value : 180 seconds
can anyone tell me where i went wrong -
NoClassDefFoundError weblogic.Deployer 7.01
I'm trying to use the weblogic.Deployer utility, but I am not able to get it working.
(I'm on a Win2K server and I'm pretty new to weblogic server...)
Everytime I try to run the deployer, I get this error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/Deployer
I've tried changing my CLASSPATH, changing directories, etc. - Nothing seems to
work.
I know where the weblogic.jar file is. I've tried running deployer from the java
dir, the weblogic.jar dir - you name it!
Can anyone offer some help?Yes. If you can package as an EAR, then you could do the database logic
outside of the WAR, and just redeploy the WAR within the EAR.

Thanks - I'll guess I'll have to redeploy then - it's unfortunate since I'm connected
to a database and I'll have to re-login, etc, etc.
I guess it'll still be faster than restarting the server though....

Ah, now I understand, we're talking about 2 different issues.
That page is discussing deploying applications automatically in the
applications directory. Indeed, there's an issue there with Windows
file locking. However, servlet-reload-check-seconds is not used there.
servlet-reload-check-seconds is done by the web container on individual
servlet classes. It works fine on Windows.
That being said, classes in WEB-INF/lib are not handled by
servlet-reload-check-seconds, only the actual servlet implementation
class.
If you're deploying an exploded webapp, and you want to change a jar
file in WEB-INF/lib, you'll need to redeploy the webapp.
This syntax should work fine:
java weblogic.Deployer -username user -password pass -name ematrix -redeploy

This is the link that talks about windows file locking and servlets
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/deployment/concepts.html#1007794
Are you deploying an EAR or a WebApp (WAR)?WebApp, exploded
What is the change you're making to ther webapp? ie just a servlet
class, or something in WEB-INF/{classes,lib}I'm changing a Servlet (jar file) in web-inf/lib

Sorry to disagree, but the Weblogic 7 docs state that servlets in
exploded
apps
cannot be reloaded with the servletreloadchecksecs parameter due toa limitation
in Windows.
Tech support has confirmed this.Hmm, can you show me the docs or the response from support that confirms
this. Reloading servlets on the fly has been in since at least WLS3.x.
It works fine on Windows.
This is why I'm investigating weblogic.Deployer - to see if I can
do
it with this
utility.
I cannot just redeploy the entire App because I'm connected to a database- if
I redploy the App, I have tore-login, etc, etc.
I might just as well shut it all down and restart.
Ok, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're trying to do yet.
Can
you answer these questions, and I can better aid you:
Are you deploying an EAR or a WebApp (WAR)?

class, or something in WEB-INF/{classes,lib}

That's another reason I'd like to use weblogic.Deployer.
Which is what my latest post was all about.
I tried weblogic.Deployer and it appeared to work, although the Servletnever
actually reloaded.

Thanks for the help, but it turns out the CLASSPATH in my dos promptwindow wasn't
set correctly.
I can now run the Deployer, although it has caused a new problem.
I am trying to reload a Servlet on a Win2K server. I know weblogiccannot do this
automatically due to limitations on Windows.No, it can.
There's a parameter in the weblogic.xml descriptor named
servlet-reload-check-secs. By default it is 1, and it will check
to
see
if your servlet has changed every 1 second. This is very nice for
development. See
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webapp/weblogic_xml.html#1038823
If you're making changes in the web application (ie something in
WEB-INF/lib or WEB-INF/classes), you can ask weblogic.Deployer tojust
redeploy the webapp.
Here's an example (java weblogic.Deployer -examples in 8.1 is helpful)
Is your application just a webapp (ie not an EAR file).
If so, something like this is correct to redeploy the webapp:
java weblogic.Deployer -username username -password password -name
ematrix -redeploy
If you have an ear file and just want to redeploy an individual webapp
without touching the rest of the application, use something like
this:
Redeploy individual module in an application:
java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl url -username username -password
password -name ematrix -redeploy -targets MyWebApp@myServer
You should not have to restart the server to make application changes.
-- Rob
However, I was under the impression that the Deployer could do it.
I ran this command with these results:
C:\>java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://localhost:7001 -user
weblogic
-passw
ord weblogic -name ematrix -activate c:\ematrixrmi1001\distrib\ematrix/web-inf/l
ib/printLogic.jar -verbose
Operation started, waiting for notifications...
[Id: 5] preparing ematrix for myserver
[Id: 5] prepared ematrix for myserver
[Id: 5] activating ematrix for myserver
[Id: 5] activated ematrix for myserver
#TaskID Action Status Target Type ApplicationSource
5 Activate Success myserver Server ematrix
null
However, when i re-ran the Servlet, nothing has changed.
It apparently has not been reloaded.
Am I doomed to restarting the entire weblogic server any time Ichange
the Servlet?
That would continue to make devleopment a real pain...

Sounds like you don't have weblogic.jar in the classpath, or you
have
the wrong version.
Can you go to a shell and show me this output:
1) echo %CLASSPATH% (or echo $CLASSPATH on UNIX)
2) java weblogic.version
3) javap weblogic.Deployer

Don't you think showing what you think is the relevant code and configuration would be more relevant than just saying you already think you're doing it right?
All that's left for someone remote so far, is to say: Well obviously you're doing something wrong. But since we don't know what you're really doing, we can't tell you. -
Weblogic JNDI lookup with JDK1.2
Hi,
I've written JMS client that sends message to weblogic 8.1,
and I use "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory" to get access to resources.
Now the problem is that my client can run only on JDK 1.2 and
so when I send message I get exceptions about some security classes which
webligic's JNDI is implementing looks like:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/security/auth/callback/CallbackHandler
at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory.getInitialContext(WLInitialContextFactory.java:131)
I was wondering if there is any way to a client running on JDK 1.2
to get access to weblogic's JNDI, other than using WLInitialContextFactory,
or I have to go to Weblogic 6?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
