Trying to call -  java email form

Hi all
Here is what i am stuck on. In my browser i would like people to click on an image and have a popup or new page call a script for send their email to my server.
I get the behaviors thing and how to do that . What i am not able to do is call the java script. The script is part css and part javascript . It is generated from my email server, and creates a form that would enable someone to send me the email address.
I am a bit new with coding and dreamweaver. I belive that the css part of the equation creates the form box and then the java script controls what happens at my server.
Any Ideas ? Thanks in advance

  • Error while trying to call Java Class from Peoplecode

    Gurus,
    I am trying to read a property file from peoplecode using standard java classes. However, I am getting this error more than one overload matches
    Below are 2 ways in which I tried doing this and both ended up in the same error
    Code 1>_
         Local JavaObject &file = CreateJavaObject("java.io.File", "D:\\psft.properties");
         Local JavaObject &properties = CreateJavaObject("java.util.Properties");
         Local JavaObject &reader = CreateJavaObject("java.io.FileReader", &file);
         &properties.load(); Error thrown : "Calling Java java.io.FileReader.<init>: more than one overload matches"
    Code 2>_
         Local JavaObject &file = CreateJavaObject("java.io.File", "D:\\psft.properties");
         Local JavaObject &properties = CreateJavaObject("java.util.Properties");
         Local JavaObject &properyFile = CreateJavaObject("java.io.FileInputStream", &file);
         &properties.load();
    Error thrown : "Calling Java java.io.FileInputStream.<init>: more than one overload matches."
    The above error is thrown on the 3rd line when I try to invoke the FileInputStream or FileReader class/constructor.
    In fact both the above code pieces work absolutely fine when I write them into a java class and run them on a java runtime. Any inputs would be of great help !! Alternatively, I will have to use peoplecode file.readline(), etc to read the property file. Since java has this smarter way to reading a property file, I thought of giving it a try ..

    I tested this on one of my windows servers using PT 8.50:
    Local JavaObject &joCurrFile = CreateJavaObject("java.io.File", "c:/temp/test-date.txt");
    Local JavaObject &jlongtime = CreateJavaObject("java.util.Date");
    Local number &modifytime = &jlongtime.getTime();
    MessageBox(0, "", 0, 0, "original time: " | &joCurrFile.lastModified());
    Local boolean &filemodified = &joCurrFile.setLastModified(&modifytime);
    MessageBox(0, "", 0, 0, "&modifytime: " | &modifytime, "");
    MessageBox(0, "", 0, 0, "&filemodified: " | &filemodified, "");
    MessageBox(0, "", 0, 0, "new time: " | &joCurrFile.lastModified());Here are the results:

    Application Engine program DSS_TEST_IO ended normallyDoes your app server have permissions to modify the files you are trying to modify? Also, how did you verify the date/time of the files? Were you using Windows Explorer? Did you refresh the view first? Or did you use the console dir/ls? I seriously doubt there is a security manager in place that would restrict what you can do with Java. Security managers are common in applets/browser context, but not in apps.

  • BAD CLASS FILE ERROR WHEN TRYING TO CALL JAVA CLASS IN WEB-INF DIRECTORY

    I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM. PLEASE HELP ME IDENTIFY/RESOLVE THIS ERROR - bad class file: /java/tomcat/webapps/ChoiceTel/WEB-INF/classes/XYZ/SMUA.class. OTHER JSP SCRIPTS THAT CALL JAVA CLASSES DO WORK WELL.
    THE FUNNY THING ABOUT COMPILIING THIS JAVA CLASS WAS - I HAD TO A jar xvf OF activation.jar and mail.jar IN THE XYZ DIRECTORY BEFORE SUCCESSFULLY COMPILING SMUA.
    THE CALL BEING MADE FROM THE JSP SCRIPT IS AS FOLLOWS:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
    <HTML>
    <BODY>
    <%@ page import="XYZ.*" %>
    <%!
    %>
    <%
    SMUA sndmail = new SMUA();
    sndmail.postMail ("[email protected]","Test Subject","What Message","[email protected]");
    %>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    Dude. Please don't shout. If your keyboard is like mine, it can produce both upper and lower case letters. Please use them appropriately.
    Do you have the activation.jar/mail.jar available in the WEB-INF/lib directory for this application?

  • Calling Java application(forms) from Oracle/Developer

    Hi
    How can i call java application by using Oracle/Developer 10g. Pl. name the methods that i can use.
    regards
    Touseef

    In Oracle a Java stored procedure is a program you write in Java to run in the server, exactly as a PL/SQL stored procedure. You invoke it directly with products like SQL*Plus, or indirectly with a trigger. You can access it from any Oracle Net client—OCI, precompiler, or JDBC.
    Oracle provides a fully-compliant implementation of the Java programming language and JVM. Oracle Database Java Developer's Guide explains how to write stored procedures in Java, how to access them from PL/SQL(or developer), and how to access PL/SQL functionality from Java. -> http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/java.102/b14187/chfive.htm#BABGCGBG

  • How to call Java methods from a Windows application?

    Hello all,
    At our company, we need to integrate our product which is a Java Swing application with a Windows application. Specifically, we are trying to call Java methods that reside in our application from the Lotus Notes email client application, which is a native Windows application. Such that when a user clicks a button in the Lotus Notes email client, it will trigger an event in our Swing application. Is this possible using JNI? Do you know of any resources or references relating to this kind of a project?
    Thanks,
    Mete Kural

    If there is some dll interface that lets Lotus Notes load up and use a DLL, then yes, this should be possible.

  • Problem calling java from vb via activex bridge

    I am trying to call java from vb via ActiveX Bridge and I am running into problems. I would appreciate any help.
    I am using Visual Basic 2010 express, and Java JDK 1.6.0_16. I have used the http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/guide/beans/axbridge/developerguide/index.html page as a guideline. To try to make it work I took the following steps:
    1. Wrote a very simple java class (below):
    package xxx;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    public class axb implements Serializable {
    public int get_axb_Handle() {
    int Address = 12345678;
    return Address;
    2. After I compiled, and created the jar file. I built the dll using the following command:
    "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_16\bin\packager" -out "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_16\jre\axbridge\bin" E:\axb\dist\axb.jar xxx.axb
    3. I then registered using: regsvr32 axb.dll
    4. In Visual Basic Express IDE I use Project -> Add Reference to add Iterop.axb (dump below), and axb namespace
    5. In my basic code I use the following lines
    Dim axb1 As axb.axb
    axb1 = New axb.axb <== Crash here with AccessViolationException ( full exception below)
    What am I missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    h2. Object Creation
    For starters, when you create an ActiveX object from within VB, use:
    Set myObject = CreateObject("JavaObject.Bean")When I refer to JavaObject.Bean, I'm meaning the full object name + ".Bean". So, in your case, you should use:
    Set myObject = CreateObject("xxx.axb.Bean")h2. Location
    The .dll file must be located in the JRE that is used at the time of calling. Meaning, the .dll file must be placed under <jre_home>\axbridge\bin and registered there.
    In your case:
    DLL:
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\axbridge\bin
    Jar:
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\axbridge\libh4. A Note:
    The only supported JRE is a 32bit version as far as I know with regards to the ActiveX bridge. Just like the packager.exe can only be found in the 32bit JDK.
    h2. Methods
    h3. Object Types
    ActiveX Bridge does not support passing literals or arrays. However, it does support passing java's primitive data types as Objects.
    Simply meaning:
    h4. Invalid:
    public int get_axb_Handle() {
         int Address = 12345678;
         return Address;
    }h4. Valid:
    public Integer get_axb_Handle() {
         int Address = 12345678;
         return Address;
    }On a normal circumstance, there's little difference between the two methods. However, in the second example, the JVM does a typecast from a literal data type to a object data type, resulting in a valid object to pass through to Visual Basic. Now, obviously there are multiple ways to do a proper change, new Integer(int) for example. It doesn't matter to me. At the end of the day, you have to pass an object.
    As a side note, the same idea applies when receiving data from Visual Basic.
    h4. Invalid:
    public void set_axb_Handle(int newHandle) {
         int Address = newHandle;
    }h4. Valid:
    public void set_axb_Handle(Integer newHandle) {
         int Address =newHandle;

  • Calling Java in XSLT

    Hi,
    I am using the following blog to create and XSLT mapping and trying to call Java code from within XSLT. The only issue I am having is that I am not sure where should I put the .java and .class files. If I include both the files in a seperate folder, then where should I place the imported archived zip folder? eg: if my XSLT is test_xslt.zip and my java code zip folder which has the .java and .class files is com.util.zip. Now where should i place the imported archived folder com.util.zip so that the XSLT can call this Java code.
    Useful XSLT mapping functions in SAP XI/PI

    Hello,
    >>Now where should i place the imported archived folder com.util.zip so that the XSLT can call this Java code
    To call a java function inside a XSLT mapping, u have to make sure that the java IA (.class file) should be in the same or underlying SCV of the XSLT - That's the only dependency.
    Thanks

    ERROR: The first argument to the non-static Java function 'getRev' is not a valid object reference.Because it results in this error rather than anything else, you have to verify (apart from typos) the actual files finally deployed to run that your method getRev is declared "static", and that the argument $rev is setup with select="'02'" and not select="02". (What you posted looks fine, just make sure it remains the same in those essential aspect.)

  • Making email form with instructions in it?

    This might be a very basic question but I cant figure it out hehe ...I am trying to make an email form like on this site...
    http://www.timberline-resources.com/
    I know how to make the form but not with the "Enter Your Email".......I want to know how to do that...so that when you click in it it disappears...
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Your example site is all done with Flash which is not web-friendly.
    My solution below uses a bit of JavaScript to clear the input field when clicked.  If nothing is typed in the field, the field value 'Enter Email To Get Updates' comes back.
    <input type="text" name="Your-field-name-here" onclick="this.value='';"  onfocus="this.select()" onblur="this.value=!this.value?'Enter Email To Get Updates':this.value;"  value="Enter Email To Get Updates" />

  • Calling java from python

    Hi,
    I am trying to call java methods from a python script. Jython is not an option. I have looked at using Jpype. Below is my code thus far:
    Jpype.py
    from jpype import *
    startJVM("C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_12\jre\bin\client", "-ea", "-Djava.class.path=%s" % classpath)
    com =JPackage("CallJavaFromPython")
    jp = com.Jpype1()
    jp.printArgument("XXX")
    shutdownJVM()
    ================================================== =
    Jpype1.class
    package CallJavaFromPython;
    public class Jpype1 {
    public static void main(String args[]){
    System.out.println(args[0]);
    public void printArgument(String arg){
    System.out.println(arg);
    ================================================== =
    Error message i am getting when I try to run the python script is :
    NameError: name 'startJVM' is not defined
    has anyone come across this before?
    Thanks in advance...

    The most recent release of Jython does not support above Python 2.3. There is a beta version released but it is not possible for me to use this. Otherwise it would be perfect.Ok, that's a drag. Any chance you can use an earlier version of Python?

  • Calling BIP from Forms: Having Java version problem

    <h5> Hi,
    I tried to call a BIP report through Oracle Forms.
    I followed this PDF.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/Forms_BIP_v22.pdf
    Problem is, when I run the form, I get this error (copied from the Java Console) </h5>

    I am using Forms Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2.
    JDeveloper Version is 10.1.3.5.0.
    The Forms 10g Java version is 1.4.
    So according to what I discovered on the net, the problem is: My JInitiator is 1.3 using JRE 1.3, BUT my .JAR file is Java 1.5.
    Since we are using the Oracle JVM, ticking “Use JRE 1.5..” in the Advanced tab of the Internet Explorer Options has no effect.
    We cannot upgrade the Oracle JInitiator to a 1.5 since there is no such JInitiator version. JInitiator is available only up to 1.3.1.30.
    What can I do. What if I install Java 1.3 in my machine and re-compile my JAR file with that? Will that work or is there another solution?
    Has anybody encountered this problem?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    C.S.
    </h5>

    Hi
    You dont need JInitiator, just downloading and installing either JRE or JDK 1.5 will be enough.
    Another option might be to set the version you want to compile your classes against in JDeveloper. there is a setting in there to specify the java version you want to compile against.
    So are you using the web services from BIP inside Forms?

    Hi friend,
    Maybe this is a sin, to ask a question about java on a .net forum but still going to try ;)
    As you said, this is a question about Java. I am afraid this is out of our support. You'd better ask in thier special forum. Like selenium.  Thanks for your understanding.
    Have a nice day!

  • Calling Java Classes from Forms 6.0

    Can this be done?
    How can it be done?
    And, I don't mean JavaBeans... I don't want to embed a control
    on my form... I want to call a standard java class routine.
    Any help or laughter would be appreciated...

    You have to write a wrapper classes so forms can call your java,
    if you've got any yet.
    Then use the Bean Area tool to draw the area your applet will
    display in (if you don't want to display anything then don't
    display anything in you java).
    Its not really JavaBeans more like oracleBeans.
    I've had to re-write functionality for the web such as
    displaying open/save file dialogs.
    If your interested and you've installed dev60, the example:
    C:\orant\FORMS60
    \java\oracle\forms\DEMOS\SOURCE\ProgressBarPJC.java and
    ProgressBar.java got me started with alot of reading from
