  • Macbook is always trying to connect to an other one which is not switched on

    Hello,
    I have a redundant problem :
    My Mac Book is always trying to connect to an other one which is not  switched on.
    I used Drive mounter, but I deleted the device that my Mac has tryed to connect with.
    Have you a solution to stop this behavior
    Thanks

    This sounds like it may be a question for the developers of Drive Mounter, as it sounds like that may still be trying to connect to that remote volume.
    You could rule out other things before contacting them by checking your login items in System Preferences -> Users & Groups. Make sure that volume is not in that list. Also, check any other apps or services that may be automatically making use of that volume, such as Time Machine.

    Hi, Mommacat26.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    This usually means that a required component is missing.  Start with completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below.  Once this is done, download and install iTunes.
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
    If you receive any errors when uninstalling any components of iTunes, try the steps in the article below for each component that gives you an error.
    "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" alert appears when removing Apple software in Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3704
    If the issue persists, try installing the Apple Mobile Device Support driver.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows XP or Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

    I have completed an online form and am trying to send it to the organization. When I say submit, it tries to connect to File:///C/users/Gail/Downloads and not to the organisations site

    There's nothing you can do about it. Report the problem to the organization. They need to fix it and send you a new version of the PDF.

  • Why does the same RGB color appear lighter in one ai file and darker in another?

    Why does the same RGB color appear lighter in one ai file and darker in another??  I want to use the more vibrant color, but when I try to reproduce the same RGB color code in another Adobe Illustrator (ai) file, it shows up darker.  I printed the two files out, and you can see the difference in the print too.  I exported the color orginally as an eps file from an ArcGIS map.
    Any insight is greatly appreciated!
    Anne

    You illustrator files may have different color profiles attached.
    Set to show your color profile in the bottom left of each document by using the flyout menu >> show >> document color profile
    Then you can use edit >> assign profile to get them the same
    Yours are quite far off for RGB (which are usually close to each other for many profile due to wide gamut).  I question as Jacob did if one of your documents are in CMYK mode. Look in parenthesis after the document name at top of window.
    Check if view > proof setup is the same (do not use the uncoated profile as in my screenshot, that was only there cause of my testing)
    Make sure view >> proofs colors is checked or unchecked for both.
    To get them to print the same, check these settings are the same
    Sorry for all the screenshots, but hopefully one day we will see Adobe's complex color management united all in one window.

    Sign out of one itunes account and sign into another seperate itunes account on same macbook.  Cannot access itunes library for 2nd account.  How do I do this?

    iTunes account is not the same as iTunes library.
    iTunes account is what you use to purchase from iTunes.
    iTunes library is what is on your computer.
    You can have items from multiple iTunes accounts in one iTunes library.

  • Trying to connect oracle DB

    Hi all,
    I am trying to connect to oracle DB with PHP
    I tried my luck there but it seems nobody there....
    I am getting the error:
    Warning: ocilogon() [function.ocilogon]: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified in C:\wamp\www\first.php on line 6
    Oracle Connect Error
    my php file is:
    <?php
    if ($c=OCILogon("work", "work", "work")) {
    echo "Successfully connected to Oracle.\n";
    OCILogoff($c);
    } else {
    $err = OCIError();
    echo "Oracle Connect Error " . $err[text];
    ?>
    what can be the problem ?
    Thank you very much!!

    In order for a non-Oracle application to talk to Oracle it has to either use a thin connection like the java thin client or access Oranet, generally called sqlnet, like ODBC/OLE. These interface with sqlnet provided by the Oracle client software.
    With Oracle Express the cleint is included but if you try to access the database from a different (remote) server you would need to install an Oracle cleint on it first.
    Look in the $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory on your PC. The tnsnames.ora file will be there. There should be a config utility available from srart, programs, oracle etc ...
    Pull your PHP doc and see what you connection needs to look like.
    Since Oracle has a PHP product you should be able to find some information online from the main Oracle site, if noone on this board who uses PHP replies to this thread.

  • I bought my ipad 2 from a friend I am trying to connect to my itunes on my computer and it will not recognize it. It keeps telling me that IPad cant be used because apple mobile device service is not started. can you help

    I bought my IPad 2 from a friend. I have reset to clear all of his information out. I am trying to connect it to my computer to sync my itunes and I keep getting the message that my IPad can't be used because Apple Mobile Device Service is not started can anyone help with this?

    I cannot find "Other" devices. I found Apple Mobile Device under Universal Bus Controllers but cannot see "recovery mode" or any other status. I use Windows Vista.
    When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
    During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
    Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes.
