Trying to Convert CHAR(1) to Boolean

I have this indicator into my database which is of type CHAR(1) and I am trying to map it as object of type Boolean. But while I run it, it gives me exception:
Exception Description: The object [true], of class [class java.lang.Boolean], could not be converted to [class java.lang.Character].Local Exception Stack:
Exception [TOPLINK-3001] (OracleAS TopLink - 10g (9.0.4) (Build 031126)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.ConversionException
Exception Description: The object [true], of class [class java.lang.Boolean], could not be converted to [class java.lang.Character].
I have mapped the database values Y-->true and N-->false.

I just selected Type Character in Database field and type Boolean into Object Field.

How to convert char(1) to int32 datatype in pl/sql

Hello,
I am trying to convert char(1) to an integer data type to be put into an int32 variable in C#. I tried several options such as TO_NUMBER ,CAST(.. AS INTEGER), and CAST(.. AS SMALLINT) but they all return int64.
Is there a way to ensure the casting into a datatype that is compatible with int32 ?

Oracle's SQL Datatypes are limited to NUMBER, BINARY_FLOAT and BINARY_DOUBLE.
There's a few others through PL/SQL including BINARY_INTEGER.
If you look in USER_ARGUMENTS you can see it is defined slightly differently.
Don't know whether / how .Net infers datatypes, but it is worth a shot.

be careful if you have unicode running in your system. URL_ASCII_CODE_GET is platform-dependent so it will return the internal HERX representation of the character in your system - which is hopefully and in most cases ASCII.
Under unicode, we use double-byte characters here. I tried this function and the result CHAR_CODE is '00' regardless what character I specify for TRANS_CHAR. But the coding is so simple I corrected resultig in this sample code:

JNI: Converting char* to jstring

env->NewStringUTF(ajstring);in converting char* to jstring as NewStringUTF causes my app to crash.

Have you tried debugging the application to see why exactly that method is crashing?
Finding alternatives is not a solution, there is a problem here that you need to figure out. Are you sure env is valid? Are you sure ajstring is a valid string (null-terminated for example)?

Are you trying to change the definition of a column in a table? Or are you trying to cast a particular value from a table into a binary value in PL/SQL?
How much data are we talking about?
Have you looked at the UTL_RAW.CAST_FROM_<<data type>> functions? Is that what you're looking for?

Converting CHAR(21) to CURR(15) - CRM system

(I have read many threads about this "conversion from CHAR to CURR" topic, but none of them were able to answer my question).
I am basically trying to convert a CHAR(21) to CURR(15).
What I have learned is: CURR(15) needs the format: 3423.23. In other words, there shouldn't be any commas and the decimal separator should be a dot. So, I have seen a lot of algorithms that convert various CHARs to this format and it works fine.
However, the problem is the regional settings. My input CHAR will depend on the regional settings of the user.
Example: Here is what the pricing returns to me in the CHAR format depending on the user settings:
DE: 1,214.99 EUR
EN: 1.214,99 EUR
So, there is no actually fixed format that I receive.
Is there a function module/method that takes into account this user settings and does the conversion (in the CRM system)?

I have a problem with an PropertyGrid enum property that uses a type converter.
In general it works, but when I double clicking or using the scoll wheel, an error message appears:
"Property value is not valid"
Details: "Object of type 'System.String' cannot be converted to type 'myCompany.myProject.CC_myCustomProperty."
I noticed that the CommitValue method (in PropertyGridView.cs) tries to convert a string value to a CC_myCustomProperty object.

Error when trying to convert excel files to pdf

I'm getting the following error when trying to convert .xls and .xlsx files to pdf, using the "Create PDF" option:
Error message from the primary converter:
ALC-PDG-010-012-PDFMaker reported an error while printing the document.
Word, Powerpoint and Text files convert without any issues. Also I'm able to opent the excel files and convert them to pdf using the acrobat option in excel.
Livecycle Version: 10.0.2, GM
MS Office Version: 2007
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It is always difficult when you need to convert multiple xls files to pdf or multiple sheets to pdf. If you have a single file to convert then the best method would be to copy your data to doc file and then convert it into PDF . If you have multiple files to convert then it is really difficult to convert all the files manually. Then the better method would be to use converter tool to convert excel to pdf . By doing this you can convert many files in just few seconds.

it seems my subscription had expired so I signed up again.. It was still having trouble so I repeated the sign up process again.. Then it worked perfectly.. Unfortunately, I think I just subscribed twice and need to cancel one of them. Ugh. Such a pain when I'm trying to get this project completed. I'll be canceling at least one of the subscriptions in the morning. Adobe is not my favorite company right now. None of this was intuitive. And trying to get help was an absolute waste of an hour.

If you have the original movie files, you'd be much better converting those, otherwise try MPEGstreamclip.

i have l_value char(45) field value has 4560
I need to convert this into vbak-netwr field in sales order user exit MV45AFZZ
when i assign vbak-netwr = l_value.
I am getting 45.60 in vbak-netwr field.
when i try same login in report progam it is working fine but not in user exit.
