Trying to down load some free games-not enough access priviledges?

I have been trying to download some free games on my new ipod touch. It gives me a message:
There was a problem down loading "game." You don't have enough access priviledges for this operation. Please check that the connection t the network is active."
There is an err-5000 on the download page. I did notice there was not an application tab on the left side where library, podcast, etc.. is.
I am on the internet, and signed in. It even shows me my balance on my itunes account. I am the administrative user, signed in on my account. Why won't it download for me?

OK. I now know what happened but don't know how to fix it. When I hooked up my ipod touch i did it on my son's user account. My administrator's user account doesn't have the blue application icon nor does my daughters. But my sons does. I supposed because I didn't sync it with the admisistrators account it worked out this way. So.... how do I get it on my account and my daughters. (She is going to go and buy one today.)

There are very few truly free games/apps anymore. The Freemium model has become the norm. They give you a level or two to try and then they need you to Buy the rest of the game.
I would delete it and see if you can find another game in the App store.
And you shouldn't have to input your bank information. In App Purchases should be done through iTunes and you shouldn't have to give out your banking info. I would report the game to Apple at:

Why does it (the website keep instructing me to buy the free trial I keep trying to down load?

This is very frustrating ! I keep trying to down load a free trial of Illustrator. First it took hours of fussing for you to come back and tell me that I needed to update my operating system first. I've done that I keep getting e-mails from you even though I haven't got the soft ware. I need to try it for a class I am taking as well as some of your other products. but the whole experience is getting to be so frustrating . Why won't the free trial down load and why does it keep instructing me to buy the software?

Nobody can know. Resolving technical problems requires hard technical facts and so far you are merely venting your frustration and haven't told us anything about your system or otehr details that may be relevant. If the download doesn#t work using the download manager, try this:

This refers to permissions on your computer which must have been changed. Start by using Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then do the following:
Reset User Permissions and ACLs in Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
From the Utilities menu select Terminal. At the Terminal prompt enter: resetpassword. Press RETURN. When the window opens select your startup drive where it says "Select the volume containing the user account:" At the bottom of the window you will see, "Reset Home folder permissions and ACLs." Click on the Reset button.

I appreciate the info and realize that the Nook App is not related to my Apple account but this too has stopped working. My situation first started with the Nook App not down loading and then has now spread to my IBook and new app downloads. I have checked into my ITunes account and the ID and password are correct and at times when I am asked to submit my Apple password such as setting up this Apple Support Community the ID and password work. My problem seems to be just with trying to use my ID and password when wanting to download new books or apps. I can go into the IBook, Nook, and App stores and seemingly download an item but when clicking on the new book or app nothing happens and I get a message that states it can not get into the ITunes store and it wants me to either try again or cancel. This message appears usually ten minutes after I have tried to make a purchase. At other times when I attempt to download a book or app I lose the screen and the IPad goes into the opening screen. New iPod Touch devices require a minimum of Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 in addition to a fairly recent version of iTunes. If you are running Tiger (10.4) or earlier, you can't just update to Leopard for free; you have to buy it.

Where did you download them from? Did you drag them from the Music folder to the Ringtones folder?
iOS devices use MPEG4 audio (AAC) for ringtones. Often these files end with .m4a, but the .m4r suffixe is generally used to denote a ringtone. iOS expects a ringtone to be less than 30 seconds in length and otherwise the only other restriction is that it's an AAC audio file.
You can make your own ringtones simply enough with any audio editing application on the Mac. Just create an MPEG4 audio stream, give it the suffice .m4r, and drag it into iTunes.

Could not sign in when trying to down load app on i phone

Check that the email address is correct for your login. You'd be surprised how many times I've seen people see the prompt and just go with a password and not realize that the email address was wrong.
Aside from that, you can try resetting your password via the iForgot app.
If you forgot your password, you can easily recover or reset it using iForgot. For security reasons, Apple cannot reset your password for you. To protect yourself against unauthorized purchases to your credit card, do not give out your password to anyone.
NOTE: If you attempt to sign in to the Apple Online Store numerous times with the wrong password, you will see the following error message: “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons." To reset your account, use iForgot.

Will not down load some music cd onto macbook air using super drive

I can not down load some music from my cds onto macbook air via super drive. These cds can be down loaded onto other computers but they are rejected by my computer.

I'm sorry to hear that . I was lucky that mine was under warranty. It was a bad drive and the replacement drive that was sent by HP works perfectly. My experience with HP support was very good. It took a bit of time to work through all the questions, but once we determined that it was bad, they promptly sent a new one out.
Since Geek squad gave you bad information, i.e., the DVD/CD drive really was bad, can you speak to them? They may be able to help with a good drive in the interest of good customer service. The only other option that I can think of that might work is to try to find an inexpensive used drive from one of the local computer shops in your area or on the net.
