I need to transfer my CS6 upgrade and, I assume, my original CS5 Windows versions of Photoshop to my new laptop that has no disc drive. This feature takeaway is increasingly common in new laptops, so I thought this would be an easy search, but I got nothing. Anyone out there know a practical way that doesn't involve ripping a disc? If ripping a disc is my only option, then what is the easiest and cheapest way to do that?

I find it hard to believe that your new laptop has no disk drive. I can not believe it boots off some network device. It is quit normal to download or copy Photoshop installation files to a Laptops internal hard disk or ssd using an external DVD or network shared. Then install Photoshop from the copied or downloaded installation files. I haven't installed Photoshop from CD or DVD in many years. Normally you do not need to copy prior versions of Photoshop to do an upgrade. You will need to be able to enter your upgrade eligible version of Photoshop serial number.
I think the idea of network computers without disk drives went out vogue many years ago it was a concept that never took off. -
Hard drive died. Cannot uninstall CS3 to remove copy registration. Need to reinstall on new laptop with windows 7 64 bit system, Need to get activation code for CS3 Web Premium.

Just to clarify - in terms of backing up one set of these, would that just be so I had it on disk and didn't need to re-download from Adobe if the installation got corrupted somehow? Or do I need a backup for some other reason?

I did not deactivate a photoshop cs6 before there was a new "C" hard drive installed on my computer and a Win7 Pro fresh install too. How can I activate photoshop on the new hardware if I can't deactivate it on the old hardware that is no longer available? Any help will be appreciated.
If it's the same machine (same CPU) there should not be any need to activate. The actiovation is tied to your CPU.

I had a problem with the hard disk on a 13" 2010 macbook pro. Replaced the hard disk with an Hitachi 1TB disk but when I tried to erase and format, it fails with input/output error and at other times saying unable to allocate memory. Any help much appreciated!
Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try again.

if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems. -

I bought Adobe Photoshop CS6 and installed the disk on my old computer. How do I install the program onto my new computer since I do not have a disk drive to put the cd into? There is nothing on the website that I can find to help me....I really enjoy the program and didnt even realize I didnt have a disk drive in this computer....(I know its something I should have known before I bought the computer....but it slipped my mind till now when I actually need it.) Remeber to follow the instructions mentioned under "Very Important section" otherwise download won't start.

This may be caused by a USB conflict or and issue with your security software. It looks like the article you came from has this information toward the bottom.

Downloaded CS6 from the cloud on trial version a few weeks back. During instalation my computer crashed and left it kind of partially installed i think. I deleted the files i could find to try and re-instal. Have managed to get the creative cloud back but when i load it up im not given any options - no apps or home or anything just the shell. Does anyone know whats up or cangive me some advice to get my trial please. Many thanks

At any attempt to download even update I get an error that says "Windows has unexpectedly closed the file picker".
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
