  • Where to download Oracle 11G lib32 for Linux x86-64

    Hi,
can you tell me where to download 11G 32bit client for Linux 86-64? I need the 32 bit lib.
    Thanks

    Hello,
You should install the Client which match your platform.
If you have a Linux *32 bit* platform you should choose this Client:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-linuxsoft-085393.html
If you have a Linux *64 bit* platform then, you should use the link I sent you on my previous post:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-linx8664soft-100572.html
I'm not sure about Linux, but I know that on Unix, Oracle for 64 bit platform has 2 directories for the Library:
    $ORACLE_HOME/lib      --> 64 bit
$ORACLE_HOME/lib32    --> 32 bitI guess you may have the same components on Linux.
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

    hi,
I have installed VM WARE on my laptop now want to download linux ISO and Oracle ISO. Red Hat, Centos and Oracle Enterprise Linux are almost identical. The major differences are:
    - Red Hat and Oracle Enterprise Linux are officially supported by Oracle to be used under Oracle products;
    - CentOS is NOT officially supported
    - the newer Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) includes an 'oracle-validate' rpm to reduce configuration guessing
Each Distro has it's purpose. I use SUSE and OpenSUSE for my office. And for general servers I use RedHat (when I need commercial support) and CentOS. I fully support CentOS and the CentOS community effort.
However, for the past year I have ONLY used Oracle Enteprise Linux under Oracle product. It is free, it is officially supported, if I need commercial support I can get it, and it has the Oracle Validated RPM to minimize my config effort. http://edelivery.oracle.com
So, as compared to the other respondent - I encourage using OEL and NOT CentOS.

  • Gunzip of ALL Oracle .gz files for linux gives crc error

So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
    - Server name - http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle9i/9201 and http://download.roacle.com/otn/linux/ias/9ias/902
    - Filename - lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz to pick one. lnx_920_disk[123].cpio.gz, lnx_iasv20_disk[1234].cpio.gz, Oracle9iAS_Rel2_Interop_Patch_Linux.cpio.gz, and 9iAS_902_Integration_LINUX.cpio.gz to be complete
    - Date/Time - multple times - last attempt evening of 7/5/02 and morning of 7/6/02
    - Browser + Version - Mozilla 0.9.2.1
    - O/S + Version - Fresh install of Red Hat 7.2
    - Error Msg - gunzip: lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error, gunzip: lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz: invalid compressed data--length error
gunzip continues to fail with "crc error" even after downloading all the files multiple times. Each time the size is correct to the other downloads and the the size stated on the web site. No error was received during the download process. The problem appears to be with the file on the server. I realize that Linux is not a big market for Oracle, but some assistance in trying to fix this would be appreciated.
    Problems also exist with 9.0.2iDS_LINUX.cpio
cpio -icd < 9.0.2iDS_Linux.cpio results in cpio: premature end of file
The .zip, .jar, and .sh files are fine.
    Thank you,
    Jeremy

Kyle, try testing to see what type of files they really are. eg. file <file name>. I had a similar problem, it turns out that they are cpio format not gzip. You should be able to extract the cpio archive using "cpio -idmvI /mnt/cdrom/Linux9i_Disk1.cpio.gz"
    Good Luck

If the platform is XP Prof. You have to stop the services before you de-install the modules. To complete clean up the Oracle installation, after you run the Oracle installer, you have to remove the key in Windows registery and then remove all the related directories.
The "getting started for windows" document has a detailed instruction of how to do this (from stopping oracle services to deleting directories). I tried it at least twice, it works.
    Good luck.

  • Download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows

    Hi
I unable to download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) for Microsoft Windows from the OTN website. The download starts from here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/htdocs/101202winsoft.html
There are two files. The second file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip downloads fine. The first file; ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip stops at 46Mb with the message "connection reset by server".
When downloading using getright as suggested on the FAQ the connection has to resume at 46Mb. Using segmented downloading in getright I have been able to download 636.92MB of the 640MB file. The getright download window shows connected; waiting for reply but I am unable to get the last few Meg.
Any ideas how to complete the download? Has anyone else completed it successfully?
    Thanks
    Tom

I guess, it is a problem with your network.
Yesterday I have downloaded both the files and installed successfully. The first file took around 20 minutes and secod file took nearly 10 minutes to download.
Are you using office network? You can try downloading at home with DSL.

it seems to be "PLSExtProc" bu default.Nope, the ORACLE_SID is taken from the environment variable when the database is started on a *nix host, windows its set up in the database service. If you want to change the ORACLE_SID, set it. See the environment setup script in OH/bin appropriate for your shell. (OH short for $ORACLE_HOME)
