Trying to install flash player; keep getting message that only single instance application can rub, but this has been happening 2/3 days; help?
I've been attempting to install Flashplayer, but keep getting the message that only a single instance of the application can run. Have tried various things but not getting anywhere.
Can anyone assist? Thanks.
Does this error appear after you complete the download and start up the installer file? If so, you may need to restart Windows. Sometimes the Windows Installer accumulates a backlog of changes and stops working correctly until you restart your system and let it clear its queue.

If you used Sync to do that "import", disable Sync for at least one of those Profiles.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have Sync enabled for all the profiles. To my surprise, however, Sync was of no use in getting Default's extension collection into Shopping. For that I had to resort to the article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox.
I will try disabling Sync on Shopping. -
I am currently using Windows 7 and when I go to try and get Fire fox up a running the Window Live Sig in site comes up. This never happened when I was using Vista.
The Windows Live sign in site will not remember the sign in details.
I use My MSN/Sympatico home page as my default site* Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
* In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
* Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.

I have a Max OS X 10.6.8 with a Safari 5.1.10 browser. I keep getting messages that my browser needs to be upgraded but can't find out how to do it and what I should upgrade to. I am prettu computer challenged so would appreciate any help and please keep it simple! : - )
Apple Safari updates are linked the OS X system upgrades, only. The most recent version of Safari for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard isn't recent enough.
Instead of, or in addition to, try Mozilla FireFox web browser, instead.
Mozilla FireFox web browser is a stand alone, Mac-friendly web browser that gets continual updates without having to upgrade/update your entire OS X system.
The current, up-to-date version of FireFox is fully compatible with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

To change your password you will need to open System Preferences, then open Users & Groups, click on Change Password. Change your password to a temporary one, then when you have finished you do the same procedure to change it back, by typing in the temp password then leaving the new password blank. Sounds like it is blocked for the website you are at. Check with this:

Trying to install flash player on Mac OS 10.6 .
Trying to install flash player on Mac OS 10.6 w/Safari. Ran uninstaller. In troubleshooting guide, no version comes up in the box, and no error message. I have unblocked cookies and pop-ups. No firewall. Still, the download bar runs to completion, and then nothing. Help?
UPdate: called my local Apple Geek, and he said go to finder, click on adobe download, and go from there. Got the install icon, and its installed. 2 minutes versus the 2 hours I spent on the Adobe troubleshooting page. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Or have a beer. Last time I opened ITunes, was told I did not have latest version and proceeded to download new version. As it was loaded, keep getting message that Apple Mobile Devices failed to start, verify that I have sufficient privileges to start system services.
