Trying to move a zone to a new location

hello all,
I am trying to move a zone to another location within the same filesystem and keep getting this error. Any ideas?
Thanks.
bash-3.00# zoneadm -z server1 move /vpool/test
zoneadm: zone 'server1': These file-systems are mounted on subdirectories of /vpool/hosts.
zoneadm: zone 'server1': /vpool/hosts/server1

Yes, it means that there is something mounted on /vpool/hosts/server1, as long as there is something mounted on that directory. Hence zoneadm won't move your zone.
Run:
df -h |grep server1
.7/M.

I am trying to move Acrobat XI to a new computer. (Mavericks to Mavericks) Toward to end of the install when 'scripts' a being installed I get an 'Installation error" message. No number or reason just a message to contact the software manufacturer.

I am using a copy of a previous download of Acrobat XI, clicking the .dmg and then on the install package.
Originally, the Acrobat software was brought into the new computer by the Migration Assistant.
Does the install assistant need to be in the mix somewhere?

  • How to Move My Library to a New Location

The title is a bit misleading.  This is actually related to a previous discussion I started but never got any feedback on.
    Here is the situation:
    I have iTunes Match.
For whatever reason, my iTunes library got hopelessly muddled and confused.  Probably user error.
I decided to move the library to a new location (different external hard drive).
I completely uninstalled iTunes and all Apple software from pc.  (yes, i have a mac but easier to keep this on the desktop).
I reinstalled iTunes, but something is still there, because my library immediately showed up.  I turned off iTunes Match, updated the preferences to point to the new location and turned iTunes Match back on.
iTunes does not "see" my new library location, and tells me that all music is only in the cloud.
How can I make it re-scan the hard drive and recognize that the music is all there?
The big problem this causes is that, as I add music, it's impossible to tell what is really physically there and what needs to be downloaded.
Thanks for any suggestions or help.  Perhaps I need to uninstall in a more thorough way, if so, I welcome help with that.

    Thanks Cander.
I've been syncing my iPod this way since I first got my 3Gen iPod a few years ago (i'm on my 4th ipod) - and I know they've made improvements to iTunes.
Is there a better way to achieve what I wanna do with just 1 computer?
Is there a way to manage 2 or 3 iPods on 1 computer using seperate "itl" or "xml" files for each iPod's library?
As it is now, I still have to go to My wife's computer and "add files or folders" to her library to get the newest tracks to add to her library - and over the network, it could take a full day If I did the whole library. Instead I write down what I've added on my Mac and just go through on her computer and add those folders.
I've read some things about holding down a "shift" or "command" key to select a library on iTunes startup... (part of my discovery on how I F-ed up my library when moving it in the first place)
Would this be the way to achieve that?
Can I have 3 seperate data files that manage the preferred tracks for 3 different iPods?
Would I have to update all 3 data files or would they all stay current when I added tracks?
    EDITED - well wait...!

  • How do I move a page to a new location within iBooks Author?

I've just started to play around with iBook Author, and I can't seem to discover how I can do something as basic as move a page to a new location within the chapter, or outside the chapter for that matter.  It won't allow me to drag and drop it, and there is no menu selection for it.  I also would like to be able to insert a new page at the current cursor location, and that doesn't work either.
Has anyone had any luck doing either of these tasks?

You can't. You can move entire chapters or sections but can't move individual pages because of the reflow capability. It is mentioned in the help and the FAQ I believe.

  • I have old folders in TB for a RETIRED account. I'm trying to move the mail to a new mac. If I want more than headers Thunderbird wants a password? Solution?

    As I said above.
I had moved a bunch of old emails using TBird and I'm trying to get them moved to a new mac. The email has long been cancelled and the company who hosted it doesn't exist any more. The domain has changed hands a couple of times.
I set up the accounts on the mac that are still active, backed up as told from the old machine.
When I follow the procedure, I get the headers of the messages only and I can't move them to any other photo. TBird gets in a loop of asking for a password for me to move the mail.
I have read/write privileges on everything. Yet these messages are useless. I've tried to import them into the mail app, and apple can import 2 folders but the others don't show up as an option.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I ended up finding a solution on the macworld hints site here: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20050402143519725
Navigate to ~/Library: Thunderbird: Profiles: your_profile: Mail: Local Folders. Identify the mailboxes you seek to use in Mail.app.
Each mailbox has three pieces to it - i.e. inbox.sbd, inbox.msf and inbox with no extension.
*Take the file with no extension, hold down the Option key (so it also stays in the folder) and drag it to the desktop.
*Rename this copy with .mbox as the file extension. For example, inbox becomes inbox.mbox.
    * Open Mail.app and select File: Import, choose Other, and navigate to the desktop and click Choose. (Choose the file you just renamed.) Your mailbox(es) should appear in the import window and will import into Mail.app.
[robg adds: This earlier hint provided a script to clean up Mozilla Mail's files for import to Mail. This is apparently due to a problem with Mail's handling of whitespace (according to the posted comments). Since Thunderbird is evolved from Mozilla Mail, there may be a similar issue with importing some mboxes. If you have issues, you might want to try the script from the previous hint...]

  • HT1848 Trying to move files from iPad to new MacBook

    Hi.
I'm trying to move my music etc from an iPad to my new Macbook. My previous computer (PC) died some time ago, so I have no backups of the info on my iPad. (Well, a backup from about a year ago!) I lost my iPad data once before, after doing an OS update on it, and it was only my own ideas and not AppleCare that helped me to sort the problem out. That said, I'm a bit nervous now that I don't have any backups of the data.
OK, so I've tried following the steps in the article about this. I've also turned off the automatic sync function now because I'm scared it'll immediately sync to an empty iTunes. But even having done this, I'm still getting the 'sync in progress' message on my iPad. The Macbook isn't giving me the message to 'transfer', but asking if I want to update the OS on the iPad.
So ... Is the iPad actually sync-ing if it says it's sync-ing or is it just in the initial stages of connection and hasn't done anything yet? Can I leave the devices connected?
And if I just say no to the OS update, will I then get the message I'm supposed to get?
*** Oh, and it was opening iPhoto too. I've now followed the instructions to stop this from opening. Would that have been why I was getting the 'sync in progress' message?

You can use a third-party Mac application like Senuti to move music from your iPad to your iTunes library.
It's normal for iPhoto to start when you connect an iPad with photos in its camera roll.

  • How to move Pictures Folder to a new location.

I have 4 internal HD's and I would like to dedicate one to be my Pictures HD/Folder. Is it as simple as copying the folder to that drive? I hope so.
I use Photoshop and Lightroom only. Just use IPhoto for desktop wall paper folder.
    Thanks!

If you use iPhoto at all, then it's a tiny bit more complex. Move the Folder then hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. Select Locate from the resulting dialogue and then navigate to the new location. Thereafter that will be your default iPhoto library.

  • I am trying to move my bookmarks to a new computer and the procedure on the website just doesn't work, everything looks right but when I open Firefox on the new computer the bookmarks aren't there, just the defaults.

The old computer is running Windows XP, the new one Windows 7. I copied the profile folder onto a USB jump drive and moved it to the new computer. When I paste the old profiles on the new computer profiles folder, all dates change to the current date and time but as I said when I restart Firefox and click on bookmarks I get nothing but the original defaults.

You need to copy the '''contents''' of the old Profile folder into the new Profile folder. Firefox won't recognize the name of that old Profile in the new installation.

  • Did I fry my old hard drive when I tried to move itunes over to my new mbp?

    Hi,
I just got a new macbook pro and moving all my files from my ibook G4 went GREAT. Then, I noticed my itunes didn't transfer so I got instructions on how to do it. I hooked up the firewire between the two computers. Then, I did the restart while holding down the T. After that, NOTHING. The ibook made a shhhhhhhhhhhhh sound in it's belly and then you get the mac noise that indicates it's rebooting and then NOTHING. Nothing on the screen. NO response. Nothing. Except it's still on because the batter is hot.
Did I lose it all? I wasn't ready to put the little g4 to pasture. It was going to go to my kids. Also, did I lose my entire 9,000 song itunes library that took me a entire year to burn in all my old stuff and then there's all the stuff I bought? Help! And thanks!

does the iBook reboot normally ?

  • How do I move a page to a new location that is offscreen to the left or right on the planning screen

When I'm in the planning screen mode, even though I have the thumbnails set on their smallest size, my website is so large that the  branches of the hierarchal layout of webpages and their various subpages stretch out to the left and right far distances off the screen. When I try to move one of the little rectangular webpage icons in the hierarchal layout in Plan Screen mode, I can't move it off screen to the left or right to change its position in my website's horizontal menu.  In other words, even at the smallest setting for the icon webpage thumbnails, there's so many icons that they go off page and I can't move a webpage icon to a position that is currently off-screen to the left or right in the menu layout.
Any ideas how to do that?  Is there a non-graphical way to do it? Thanks!!!

Your best bet is to reduce the thumbnail size to the smallest, then turn off thumbnails (to speed redraw), then drag in multiple steps, scrolling the Plan view each time. In the upcoming release of Muse (June 17th) you will be able to collapse vertical stacks of pages, which will means your Plan view won't be as wide. If you collapse each stack, you will only see the top level pages, and you won't have to scroll as many times. Or maybe they will all fit. What you really need is autoscroll in Plan view, which we don't currently have.

  • Trying to move iPod touch to new computer.  iTunes library from old computer already on external hard drive.  Don't want to lose playlists, apps, etc.  Help?

I am trying to move iPod touch to a new computer.  My iTunes library was already on a 1 TB external hard drive.  I downloaded iTunes on my new computer, plugged in my external hard drive with my iTunes library, and changed my iTunes media folder location (preferences-advanced) to my external hard drive location. But now all my songs are "checked" (all were not before) and none of my old playlists are present.  When I plug in my iPod touch to the new computer, it asks if I want to erase and sync.  I do not want to lose my playlists, apps, etc.  How do I move over to my new cpmputer without erasing my iPod and losing stuff?

Forgot to add, my iPod touch is backed up on iCloud

  • Move equipment: drag and drop to new location

    Hello,
We are using CC04 to move/ copy equipment to a new location. When we copy a equipment and put to a new location it does not include the sub equipment.
Is there a quick and easier was to move or copy equipment to new locations and include everything to go with it: (BOM, Configuration, address, partners, document..etc.). In addition is there a way to copy functional location with all the equipment/subequipment and copy/move to new location.

  • Trouble setting time zone for new location in networking

When I try to set a time zone for a new location it sets this as the time zone for all locations. I must be missing something. Any suggestions?

If you're doing this in the Date & Time PrefPane, then, IIRC, that's normal behavior. That controls the date and time settings for the computer. See Setting the date, time, and time zone description in Help.

  • TSQL to copy backups to a new location

    Hello,
I am trying to select the most recent backup of a database and move it over to a new location. However I am unable to assign the top1 max to a variable. Here is my script:
    DECLARE @cmd nvarchar(4000)
    DECLARE @srcbkpLocation nvarchar(4000)
    DECLARE @destbkpLocation nvarchar(4000)
    DECLARE @bkpFileName nvarchar(4000)
    set @destbkpLocation='\\ServerB\FULL\Backups\NameofDB\'
    set @srcbkpLocation='E:\Backups\NameofDB\'
    SELECT top 1 @bkpFileName= max(bs.backup_finish_date) as Mostrecent,
    bs.database_name AS DatabaseName,
    bms.physical_device_name
    FROM msdb.dbo.backupset bs
    INNER JOIN msdb.dbo.backupmediafamily bms
    ON bs.media_set_id = bms.media_set_id
    INNER JOIN master.dbo.sysdatabases s
    ON bs.database_name = s.name
    WHERE
    s.dbid IN (6) AND
    bs.type = 'D'
GROUP BY bs.database_name,bms.physical_device_name order by Mostrecent desc
    SET @cmd = 'xcopy ' +@srcbkpLocation++@bkpFileName + ' ' + @destbkpLocation++@bkpFileName
    EXEC master.dbo.xp_cmdshell @cmd, NO_OUTPUT
can someone tell me where am I doing wrong?

    Hello,
The error occurs when you are assigning the column values from a SELECT statement into local variables but not all columns are assigned to a corresponding local variable. To avoid this error, you can try to asssign each column to a
    local variable. For example:
    declare @date datetime
    declare @dbname nvarchar(40)
    declare @bkpFileName nvarchar(4000)
    SELECT top 1 @date=max(bs.backup_finish_date),@dbname=bs.database_name,
    @bkpFileName=bms.physical_device_name
    FROM msdb.dbo.backupset bs
    INNER JOIN msdb.dbo.backupmediafamily bms
    ON bs.media_set_id = bms.media_set_id
    INNER JOIN master.dbo.sysdatabases s
    ON bs.database_name = s.name
    WHERE
    s.dbid IN (1) AND
    bs.type = 'D'
    GROUP BY bs.database_name,bms.physical_device_name
    order by max(bs.backup_finish_date) desc
As for the Xcopy command, please verify that the source path and destination path of the backup file is correct.
