Trying to print '£' sign
Hi all,
I am trying to print a report from Unix.report has a TEXT as "a further fee of £ 15" but when the print is taken the TEXT prints "a further fee of # 15"
I have set NLS_LANG in NLS_database_paramters and tried
select chr(163) from dual;and it displays '£' sign so the environment is correctly setup
ANY IDEAS

The answer to this problem lies in 3 areas. First, what is your database character set? It has to be capable of storing the POUND SIGN. Candidates for this are AL32UTF8, WE8ISO8859P1, WE8MSWIN1252, etc.
You can select from v$nls_parameters to get the database character set.
Second, is what eventually gets stored in the database actually a pound sign in that character set? If your DB charset is WE8ISO8859P1 then the out put of the following should be A3:
SELECT DUMP(c1, 1016) FROM t1;
Where c1 is the column and t1 is the table.
Finally, if the above 2 checks pass, what is your client side character set? This is normally dictated by the NLS_LANG environment variable but if you are connecting via JDBC then this setting is not important.

Warning Message when trying to print form
Hello,
We made some changes to a SAPScript and it's print program. Everything was looking good untill the client tested it in the production box. When trying to print the receipt using FB12 (to choose correspondence type), F.61 (to issue the spool request) and SP01 (To display the output) the following warnings where displayed in F.61 and the spool request was never issued.
Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance.

PD. I've replaced username with * and accnt ID with # signs.To be more specific (for future users who will meet this problem);
Both messages, FB219 and subsequently FB826 are caused by the fact that the description of document type DZ is not maintained in language 'E'. If this desciption is maintained, both messages will vanish.

FireFox keep saying "unexpected error" when trying to print web pages.
FireFox keep saying "unexpected error" when trying to print web pages. The print preview works OK, but when you try to print that "unexpected error" jumps up.

Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes in all the different modules/panels - a genuine/original Firefox installer as well as all the installed EXEs (Application) and DLLs (Application extension) are digitally signed by Mozilla Corporation (right-click > Properties > Digital Signatures). Even otherwise, some security software may also ask again when Firefox and/or its sub processes are started, and you may be able to allow/trust at that time. Trying to print from Windows 7 x64 over network to XP machine with attached HP Deskjet 990cxi
My laptop has Windows 7 (x64 bit) and I'm trying to print to an HP 990cxi attached to an XP x86 machine. The driver for Windows 7 is apparently at Windows Update but how do I trigger the download without physically connected the printer to the laptop?
Dave.OK, OK. Honestly, I am not very good with printer sharing, especially across OS's, but I'll give it a shot.
First, just to be clear, the printer is attached to an XP machine via USB and you are trying to print to it via a router, right?
Let's try the straightforward approach:
1. Enable the Guest Account on the XP machine.
2. On the Mac, go to System Prefs > Print & Fax, click the '+' sign to add a printer and then click the Windows icon at the top.
3. Navigate to the XP machine, you may have to login to it.
4. Choose the proper driver from the pull-down. If it does not exist, choose a Gutenprint driver.
Again, I am not very experienced with this - let me know how it goes.

When trying to print to PDF from a sales program we use it keeps throwing errors
When several people try to print to PDF from MAS90, it will save it and create a file as it normally does. However, it does not open in Acrobat 9 Pro as it normally does, and displays the famous error "Acrobat could not open 'xxxx.pdf' because it is either not a supported..." Yet when you manually open the file from the file system, it opens just fine.
So to rehash what I just said, when I print to pdf, it asks me where to save, the notification said the printing completed, adobe opens and displays error. If you click on the file, then the file opens just fine.
However several other people do not have this error while trying to print to file from mas90. Does anyone out there have any idea what could possibly be causing this error to be displayed?Hi ftd12300,
Are you saving the PDFs you're creating to a network drive or are they being saved locally?
Do you have this problem when creating PDFs from other applications such as Notepad?

Freezing when trying to print out PDF?
Trying to print out PDF of Aperture 'book'. Each time it freezes on the same page ... this particular page is where I have one image stretched across two pages. Is this possibly a glitch with Aperture?

I've trashed my preferences several times; doesn't seem to help. I've also tried to use two copies of the same picture (right half on right page, left half on left page); but that doesn't work too well, as Aperture seems to want to favor one side or the other – and thus I can't adjust the two sides to match up properly.

I love the IDEA of the two page spread. Have longed for it in Pages, where I'm producing a whole series of books ... a lot of two page spreads (but done by using two versions of the same still).

After downloading Yosemite my printer, a HP Photosmart D100 will no longer print. The wireless connection is fine, and a test page printed perfectly directly from my printer. When trying to print from my computer, it says it cannot connect or find the printer. I tried downloading the most updated software from HP website but it doesn't appear to be helping.
Try resetting the printing system.

If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

Message of "printer offline" when trying to print

I have iphone 4s and a HP wireless printer a little less than 3 years old. When trying to print something from my iphone, it keeps giving me the message "printer offline" with choices for continue or cancel. I hit continue, but same message comes up a minute or two later. This happens even when my printer is awake and wirelss signal is strong. My phone finds the printer when i try to print, but keep getting this printer offline message. Any help would be appreciated.Is your particular printer model AirPrint compatible? Here's the list, as well as guidnance for setup and use:

If your HP printer is not one of those on the HP list, then you wiould need some othe app to print from your iPhone. Search the App Store. -
I am using Adobe XI Pro and in various parts of the document there is brown / biege lettering when on the document it shows as black. My printer guy has been in and checked it out top to bottom and that part is fine. I have tried to print the same document and it comes out fine. Any ideas ? Using Windows 7 Service Pack 1

I am trying to print a booklet. I have printed it several times with no issues. Now when I try to print it (with no changes in the program) it will either give me a blank page or will print one of my pages (there are 8 pages total). Any help?
No I didn't even read through your post, to long.
You said that "No matter what program I try to install, as soon as the installer opens it crashes". Were you talking about the install for this/these 3D programs or ANY program? As it is worded it sounded like ANY program. That tells me there is a problem with your Mac, software or hardware.
Now you say others install programs, which is it. Programs other then the 3D ones install or no programs install?
Could simply be your Mac is to old to run these programs and the installer knows that. You never said what model or year Mac it is. -
Hp printer cutting off the sides of a pdf document I am trying to print.
I am trying to print a pdf form to fill out, when I try to print it using my hp photosmart premium 309g the sides of the text get cut off the page.
I have been trying to find a boarderless printing setting in the printer settings on OS X 10.7 but have had no luck so far.
