Trying to use Parallels to create a virtual PC running Windows 7

I am trying to help a friend with this problem but I am woefully inadequate to assist on this one! Here is a brief description of what's going on – by the way I am using a MacBook Pro, Lion OS X. I use Parallels to create a virtual PC running Windows 7. I have installed Office 2010 on the PC side and Office 2011 on the Mac. All VBA works fine on the PC side, but bombs on the Mac. It was my understanding (directly from Apple) that with the release of Office 2011 for the Mac that all code was now conforming with the PC version. This is probably true for new code written under Office 2010 (PC), however, most all of my applications have been developed over time through many versions of Windows based software (probably the last 10 years)…to date I have never had an issue with compatibility (on the Windows side). I have done some online research into the errors that I receive, however I am really an novice/intermediate programmer and am unable to find adequate solutions to the initial problems (as shown below).
Once I receive the run-time error 1004 I use the debug feature, etc. and end with "Can't find project or library. The initial error is probably just the beginning, but I am unable to go forward from this point.

Well your topic is about virtual machines and the body of your post is about Visual Basic. So what exactly do you want help with.
One has nothing to do with the other.
As to the error you posted that VBA program you are trying to run is looking for files in a specific place. Which would not be the same on a Mac as it is on a PC. For one reason PCs use Drive Letters for that path to folders. Mac's use Volume names.
Although I don't do a lot, if any, VBA programing you might be able to run those VBA Apps through the Mac side VBA to convert them to work on Office for Mac. You would also need to copy over whatever it is looking for that gives you that error.

Using Windows Server 2012 Essentials - Creating a virtual PC running Windows 7

I have a lot to my question, but I am hoping someone out there will be able to answer it, or at least part of it for me.
My situation is I have a Centon InfiniTV 6 turner card, which means that the computer would need to be running 24x7 to record TV shows.
Which is ok, I have no problem with that. I also have a home network with all computers are able to access the recordings.
I would really like to have some server software running to help keep things better organized and also be able to access the files and stuff remotely if needed.
This is why I purchased Windows Server 2012R2 Essentials.
I have not tried to install the tuner card software on the operating system; because it is only for Windows 7 and 8, so I would think it would not work.
What I want to do is have my Windows Server 2012R2 Essentials running as the primary operating system.
Then create a virtual PC to run my copy of Windows 7, and have it use the turner card that I have installed on the computer.
This is the first question, is there any way of doing this?
From what I have read online is that Essentials does not support virtual PC’s because it does not come with hyper-v.
Is that something that can be downloaded or purchased separately from Microsoft?
I have installed the free copy of Oracle Virtual Box, but for some reason that does not show any operating system over 32 bit.
All of my software is running at 64 bit. If I can get Virtual Box working, would that fix all my issues?
Next question, is there any easy way to make a copy of my current running Windows 7 and use that to create a virtual PC running on the server?
Or will I have to reinstall it, and everything associated with it to make it work correctly?
I guess the last question would be, is there any way of using a free SSL certificate with the server operating system?
I have tried a few things that I found online, even followed all the steps from a YouTube video but none seem to work.
I am not sure if it is worth the $70 per year just to access my computer remotely once or twice a month.

Hi thanks for reading. Now I may well have my terminology incorrect here so I will try to explain as best I can and apologies from the start.
It’s a bit of both Hyper-v and Server 2012R2.
I am setting up a lab with Server 2012 R2. I have several physical network cards that I have teamed called “HostSwitchTeam” from those I have made several Virtual Network Adaptors such as below
examples.
New-VMSwitch "MgmtSwitch" -MinimumBandwidthMode weight -NetAdaptername "HostSwitchTeam" -AllowManagement $false
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -ManagementOS -Name "Vswitch" -SwitchName "MgmtSwitch"
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -ManagementOS -Name "Cluster" -SwitchName "MgmtSwitch"
When I install Hyper-V and it comes to adding a virtual switch during installation it only shows the individual physical network cards and the
HostSwitchTeam for selection. When installed it shows the Microsoft Network Multiplexor Driver as the only option.
Is this correct or how does one use the Vswitch made above and incorporate into the Hyper-V so a weight can be put against it.
Still trying to get my head around Vswitches,VMNetworkadapters etc so somewhat confused as to the way forward at this time so I may have missed the plot altogether!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Based on my understanding of the description , "HostMgmtSwitchTeam and
HostVMSwitch " are teamed NIC .
You can think of them as two physical NICs (do not use NIC 1,2,3,4,5 any more , there are just two NICs "HostMgmtSwitchTeam and
HostVMSwitch").

V-HeartBeat are just VNICs of host (you can change their name then check if the virtual switch name will be changed )

Fpga - trying to use the RIO Replication VIs to replace Run at Reset Running FPGA

Running LabVIEW 12.1
We have an application that is using an FPGA that was compiled to Run at Reset (runs on any reset or powerup). We occassionally need to update the image on the RT and FPGA and I have downloaded the NI RIO Replication VIs.
The problem I am having now is that when I got to download the bitfile to the FPGA Flash on the sbRIO9636 I am getting the following error:
Error -61141
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW FPGA: The operation could not be performed because the FPGA is busy. Stop all activities on the FPGA before requesting this operation. If the target is in Scan Interface programming mode, put it in FPGA Interface programming mode.
My updater is stand alone EXE. It may not be able to get a link to the FPGA because we can't be sure what Bitfile is currently on a particular system. I tried using the Open FPGA Reference and loading a BLANK bitfile onto the FPGA by setting the FPGA to RUN when it his the FPGA Open Reference VI - and this works to allow me to erase the bitfile. It does not allow me to immediately after run the Download bitfile VI from the RIO replication - even though I Close and Reset the FPGA before trying to download the Bitfile to the RIO Flash.
Will I have to first Erase the existing bitfile and then load the new one?

The workflow is pretty simple.
Connect to the sbRIO and send down a new Bitfile to the Flash and reset the unit.
This works great if the sbRIO has nothing on it. This works great if the FPGA code is encapsulated in the RT EXE and instantiated by the Open FPGA Reference.vi with RUN = TRUE.
What doesn't work is the whole reason I need to send a new bitfile to the FLASH of the RIO in the first place. FPGA RUN WHEN POWERED/RESET. The Fpga code once put on the RIO Flash drive loads every time and runs great. our RT Code Connects fine...
Occassionaly we need to replace the RT and FPGA code. Once the unit has been flashed once the with the FPGA, the NEXT time I want to Flash a NEW FPGA Bitfile onto the RIO Flash using the NI RIO Replication Toolkit VI: Download Bitfile.vi I get an error -61141 LabVIEW FPGA: -61141: The operation could not be performed because the FPGA is busy. Stop all activities on the FPGA before requesting this operation. If the target is in Scan Interface programming mode, put it in FPGA Interface programming mode.
I changed my code to shutdown the FPGA remotely by using a VI Server call into the RT.EXE....mabe I also need to close the Reference. What kills me is that once again we are given VIs for replication that do not perform what can be done by the project and the stand alone RIO Device Setup.exe.

I have 2 airport express base stations that I am trying to use to extend my wifi. I have windows 7 and downloaded the airport utility but it wont pick up my airport express. Does anyone know what im doing wrong and how to get them to work?

I would recommend that you start by performing a "factory default" reset on all of your AirPort base stations. Once completed power them all down. While powered-down, temporarily connect both Express base stations to an open LAN port on the Extreme using separate Ethernet cables.
Once connected, power up the Extreme; wait five minutes, and then, power up each of the Express base stations. Which you power-up first doesn't matter.
Now start up the AirPort Utility on the PC. It should now "see" all three base stations. If so, go ahead and configure your extended network.
Please post back your results.

Can't use multiple cell delete function in excel running windows parallel

Does anyone know how to delete muliple cells in an excel spreadsheet, running windows 7 using parallel operating system? When I click on multiple cells and hit the <delete> key only the one cell within the top left of the range deletes, the remaining highlited range does not. The only way (I have found) is to right click the highlited range and use the command <clear contents>. Anyone? Anyone?

After I posted this query, another link came up:
Select the cells you want to delete --> hold down the function key ----> press delete

I was following the documentation to auto-create my datasource in my weblogic server. I get an error while it is trying to link the datasource to the server. Does anybody have any ideas,it is almost like the query to get the server isn't working.

Error while trying to use Export to create dump-file....................

I am trying to export my portal PAGEGROUP plus other objects under it i.e. pages etc. and followed the instructions listed in:

but when I run the .cmd script generated through portal after export I get the following error:

Export/Import aborted.Eventhough I successfully logged-on as a portal user through SQLPLUS / JDEVELOPER and em console. And am giving the same username/password when I run the script but somehow keeps giving me the above error. Here is my export command that I am using:
C:\Export>exportscript.cmd -mode export -s PORTAL -p <portal_password> -pu <portal_username>
-pp <portal_usernamepassword> -company <companyname> -c ORCL -d <dumpdfilename>
here ORCL is the connect_string.

I got it working so please disregard actually the PORTAL password wasn't correct I retrieved the password using the following:

Trying to use Imovie to create a movie using a Mac OSX 10.6.7, 3.2 g Intel core. Using clips from my Sony CRX 150 and need to remove sound in order to add music to the movie. HEELLLP!

OK, I 'm attempting my first movie here using this Mac OSX Snow Leopard with IMovie. I have clips I created from an 8mm Movie projector copied on my Sony CRX 150 and the sound of the projector is all over these clips and I have no idea how to remove that before adding music. So far this has been great and this is my first bump in the road. Also I notice tho, that the icon for my camcorder has disappeared from the desktop and looks like I'm gonna have trouble "ejecting" it in order to shut things down!!! HELLLLP!

I loaded 2 .dv movies from my external HD back onto my internal HD, and got them re-imported into iMovie, took a few short clips from each of the 2 iMovie events and pasted them into a new project in the Project Browser. Then I deleted these 2 "source clips" from my internal HD, closed iMovie and then re-opened it and found that iMovie would NOT export the smaller clips for a "highlights" .4mv movie without the "source clips" being available.
I read your link on Quicktime. It talks about mostly trimming, which is what I did with each iMovie event before I took each one as a project to export as a smaller .4mv file. But if I use Quicktime (do I need QT Pro or basic), what advantage is it to me to use QT over iMovie (I must admit I am a novice at iMovie and have never used QT or QT Pro as a tool)? Will it then convert any edits I make to a .m4v movie or do I need iMovie to do that?
Does QT allow trimming multiple segments out of a movie during one edit session, or can you only do 1 at a time? By that I mean that, for example, when I use Sonys Picture Motion Browser for my .mts movies, you can only set one Start and one End point for each edit/trim you do: it does not allow you to set multiple Start Stop points like iMovie allows in its Event or Project browser. You can only do one "trim" at a time, save it and then reopen to do another trim. not very useful.

* Starting Firefox up
* Opening a new window (Ctrl+n)
* Opening a new tab (Ctrl+t)
* Double-clicking the Firefox home page shortcut after Firefox is already running
Your "More System Details" shows that there is an optional settings file named user.js in your current active personal settings (profile) folder. Firefox reads this file at startup and uses it to override your previous session settings. Unless you created that file yourself, it may contain unwanted instructions. Note: By default, Windows hides the .js extension on files, so if you see a file named user of type JScript, that is the user.js file.

I am trying to use both DaqMx and DaqMxBase on the same (Windows) PC

This depends on NiDaqMxBase because it is built for Linux.
Consequently, I have installed DaqMxBase 3.7 on my (Window 7 /x64) PC, which already held DaqMx 9.7.5.
I cannot get DaqMxBase to recognise my pci-6601 counter/timer card.
It it recognised by DaqMx.
Should this card be recognised by DaqMxBase on Windows?
Is it OK to have both driver versions installed on the same PC?

The USB-6008/9 has it's own article on this that I will link rather than typing it, it shows which operating systems support which drivers. Base and mx are both supported in some instances.

Interestingly, in this case, Linux seems to only be supported by the Base driver.
