TS1314 i accidently resynched, & deleted over 70 % of my photos. can i restore them?  they no onger appear on my computer.

i recently synched my ipad2 to add new photos, accidently hit replace, & lost over 70% of them.  they no longerare on my computer, can i recover them?

Open your library with the Finder like this:
Then go to the Masters folder and look in its subfolders to see if you can find any of your missing photos. DO NOT MOVE, RENAME OR MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE CONTENT OF THE LIBRARY DURING THIS PROCESS. Just look inside the various subfolders.
If those photos are truely missing then your best option is to restore the library from your backup copy. If you don't have backup copy then you'll have to try using a file recovery application like   SubrosaSoft FileSalvage. You can run it in demo mode to verify it can find and recover your photos before purchasing it.

  • I deleted my contacts by mistake and can't restore them from time capsule

    Please Help!!
I deleted around 4000 contacts by mistake with a script deleting the annoying duplicates that come with cloud syncs.
I can't restore them from my time capsule, I have read other posts and they suggest to copy the contacts folder in a back up from my time machine, Time Machine volume -> Users ->Yued1 -> Library -> Application Support -> CONTACTS, coping the folder in to my desktop and deleting the one in my computer all with out internet connection so iCloud won't cause problems, export the contacts, connect to the internet and then once connected let iCloud do its thing and then import the exported contacts, it all sounds good but when I mount my time capsule volume I get the folder backups.backupdb>Yued's Macbook Pro>(The backup folder of the date I choose)>Macintosh HD>Users>yued1 but Inside yued1 there is no Library folder, I did the command in terminal to show all files and folders, terminal accepted it relaunched finder but still won't see library, the only folder in my time capsule with library, is inside Macintosh HD but doesn't have a contacts folder inside application support.
    I have OS 10.9.4 processor 2.2 GHz i7 and 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
I don't know what time capsule I have except that is a 1TB from 2011
I really appreciate your time helping me out. thank you!

    Thanks for your help,
It takes forever to go from one window to another back in time, once I get to the one I want and click restore It goes back to my desktop as it would when restoring something else but the contacts stay the same...
I do see all the deleted contacts in the snapshots, but can't restore them

I inadvertently deleted the source tunes from my iMac.  How do/can I restore them from my iCloud account?

    Welcome to the Alpple Community.
Your iCloud account doesn't have anything to do with iTunes. With iTunes in the cloud you can redownload tunes you have purchased from iTunes (select purchases from the list of options in the top right hand corner of the iTunes home page.
If you have iTunes match you can redownload all your tunes by clicking the cloud icon at the right of each listing.

Ive deleted my contacts, is there a way to restore them from a back up??

Welcome to the Apple Community Holly.
To restore from a back up made through iTunes, follow these instructions.
To restore from a back up made through iCloud, try the following:
The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now.

  • I deleted some videos this morning - how do I restore them?

I lost some videos this morning - how can I restore them?

If they were videos taken with the iPad and you made a backup after making them and before deleting them, restore your iPad and install your backup when prompted.  If you did not backup before deleting them, they are gone.

If you live in the USA and are using a late enough version of iTunes, you can redownload all your iTunes purchases (minus movies) via iCloud.  See this article for more details.

I deleted a large number of contacts on one iphone when i got a new one. icloud must have automatically synced to the old one, then synced my new one to that, thus deleting many contacts. can i restore them? can i retrieve a snapshot of my icloud as it existed yesterday?

When a device that is connected to an icloud account has it's contacts deleted, the same contacts at icloud.com are also deleted and then the changes propagate to other computers and devices also connected to the same icloud account.   In other words, the contacts are deleted everywhere.  Also, any iOS backup to icloud does not include contacts or any of the other Apple data, like calendars, reminders, etc.  The only way you can get that data back is if it was on a computer which has been frequently backed up.  You restore the data from the backup.  (This reference to "backup" is a local backup, it has nothing to do with icloud.)

Without a backup you can download the apps again for free, but only if you have a backup you can get back your settings and other data if you restore from that backup.

  • My wife has over 8 GB of photos, can't delete, and can't update because there is no room.

My wife, age 74, is a hopeless computer illiterate.  She has never updated her iPad 2, still using 6.1.3.  She has managed to put 8.7 GB of photos on the machine, some from the iPad camera, some from Facebook, and many from an older Android camera smartphone that is no longer operational.  Sh mehe needs to update the ios, but cannot because there is not enough room.  However, I can't delete enough photos to make room.  I've uploaded them to Dropbox and copied them to a flash memory stick via my PC (Surface Pro 3), so there is plenty of backup, but now I need to get them off, somehow.  There is 4.15 GB of photos in one album, from a cross country RV trip, but none of them can be deleted.  There is no trash can, not delete button, nothing, either in the album or in the Photos section.  There are over 8,000 photos total, of all types, some of which can be deleted, but not enough to clear enough room to update.  There is a little over a gigabyte left, but the update says it needs 5.7 GB.
I'm not an Apple guy, and struggle with the limitations put in place by Apple, some seemingly absurd.  She put the photos on the iPad, why in the simple earth should she be prevented from removing them?

"if you can afford to erase your iPad..."
Actually, that's not as crazy as it sounds.  I have thought about just buying a new iPad, perhaps one with more than 16 GB of storage, just to get the newest ios.  Then, I can have the Geek Squad transfer all the data, erase the old one, update it, and give it to my daughter-in-law.  I just bought myself the Surface Pro 3 and did exactly that.  It has 128 GB internally and I have a 64 GB microSD card installed.  I'm in the process of weeding out photos on that; it has 78+ GB of photos.  We travel a lot.  In fact, we're getting ready for a major trip and that's the reason why I've been trying to clean out her iPad, to make room for even more photos.
But, without a file management system on the iPad, I have no idea how to clean it out myself.  That's what prompted my question above -- how do I clean out the photos?  I tried loading an iFile app, but they want toi upgraded ios, and I can't get the latest ios until I clean it out.  I'm trapped in a vicious circle.
