TS1334 Saving attachments in Outlook for Mac

I cannot save email attachments in Outlook for Mac because it says I do not have permission to save it.  How do you find the file in Finder?

Trying to save to my computer.  i did discover i can right click on the unopened link to the attachment, which is kind of annoying since sometimes i can save an opened attachment and sometimes i don't have permission to save.  I'm not following you with the Attachments>Save command.  I use Outlook.  Where is that command?  Thanks.

  • Acrobat X v10.0 - cannot Submit Form in Outlook for Mac 2011

I created a form in Acrobat X v10.  When submitting the form in Windows, it opens the Select Email Client window, user can select Desktop Email Application, click OK and the completed form is sent via Outlook.  When I try to do the same on a Mac, it goes through the process, but doesn't send.  It looks like it will, but when I go to the Sent Items, it's not there and doesn't send.
I suspect it's something to do with Outlook for Mac 2011, but does anyone know of a workaround other than saving the file to the computer and sending the old fashioned way?  I really would prefer users not saving the file.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi oc_jane,
Is Outlook 2011 your default mail application?
What version of Mac OS are you running?
If you click the following email address, [email protected] does it launch a new blank email in Office 2011 w/ that email address in the 'To:' line?
    Thanks,

  • Unable to attach PDF to email (Outlook for Mac 2011)

We are pushing out software upgrades for CS5 and MS Office 2011 for Mac. We've discoverd that we can't use the Attach to email feature in Acrobat. The spinning rainbow wheel pops up for about a minute, and then Acrobat is non-responsive and we have to force quit. We can still drag and drop an attachment so we have a viable workaround but obviously we'd like to be able to use the automated feature.
    All software is up-to-date.
In the preferences panel of Outlook, we have selected Outlook to be the default mail application.
As a sidenote, this feature doesn't work with Acobat X beta either. However, in the beta version of Acrobat X, if we declare Apple's mail application to be the default, it works fine. Unfortunately we use the Office suite as part of our enterprise system, so that's what we need to work with.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've logged a ticket with Adobe but I haven't heard back from them yet.
    Thanks for any advise.

    Take the bhama way
figured out how to make it work.  I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro (mac)
and MS Outlook for Mac 2011.
For those who are interested, this is what I did:
    1. Create a folder on desktop to save your pdf¹s files you want to email
to.  Mine is named, "PDF to Email"
    2. Open Automator, create a "Folder Action"
    3. At the top, "Choose Folder", choose your newly created folder on the
    desktop
    4. Choose the "Rename Finder Items" action from the action list.  I chose,
"Don¹t Add" on the add a Copy Finder Items Action menu.
    5. On the "Add Date or Time to Finder Item Names" I chose, "Name Single
Item" from the first drop down menu.
    6. Click on "Options" at the bottom of that window to select the "Show
this action when the workflow runs" so you can rename your         file
something other than the Acrobat default.
    7. Choose the "Create New Outlook Mail Message" from the action list and
add it below the "Name Single Item in Finder Item Names"
    8. Choose "File>Save As" and give your file a name.  Mine is, "PDF to
    Email".
    9. Close Automator
    10. Open Acrobat X Pro.
    11. Go to "File>Action Wizard>Create New Action"
    12. Here you choose, "Save to>A Folder on my computer"
    13. Choose the folder on the desktop that we saved earlier
    14. Save the file, with the action name you will remember.
Now when you are in Acrobat X Pro and you want to send that .pdf file via
Outlook for Mac 2011, follow the steps below.
With the file you want to email open, go to "File>Action Wizard>(Action
you created) Mine is "PDF to Email".  It will take a few seconds, but you
will get an "Action Completed".  You will get a pop up that allows you to
name/rename the file. Then it should open your Outlook with your .pdf
    attached and ready for sending.
You might need to tweak the actions to suit your needs, but this should
    work for you.

  • Trouble transferring email to Outlook for Mac 2011

I purchased a new iMac and Office for Mac 2011.  I have years of Outlook email history to transfer over, which the folks at the Apple Store said would work, no problem.  That hasn't been the case.  None of my .pst files from Outlook (2003, for PC) will transfer correctly.  It seems that about half the email is missing.  Have tried importing just small pst files with less than 100 emails, that won't work either.  I've seen this problem discussed on multiple forums, but haven't seen a consensus developing as to the solution.  I've tried creating a new identity in Office for Mac 2011, importing there, exporting to a .olm file, and reimporting to my main identity, and that didn't work either.  Each solution has thousands of missing emails, but never the same ones.  I can find no pattern, relating to whether there were attachments, older emails, new emails, etc.
I know this is being discussed in various forums, but I'd like to ask whether anyone has any new ideas?  Or, it would be great to know if ANYONE has successfully been able to complete this kind of transfer to Outlook for Mac 2011, or whether it's happening to everyone who tries.
    Thanks...

We've had problems importing Outlook 2003 and earlier >PST files into Outlook 2011 due I think to the ANSI format of the PST file.
One option is to get a 30 day trial of Outlook 2010 for your PC, create a new PST file in 2010 and import your 2003 PST into it. Then the PST will be Unicode and Mac Outlook 2011 should be able to import this PST.

  • Please help - Dreamweaver Image Map Tool/Outlook for Mac

    Hello:
I was wondering if you could help me navigate through an issue I am having with the image map tool.  I have created a design file is PSD, saved it as a JPG, then transferred it into Dreamweaver to link the design to a web page.  However, I would like to embed different links within one HTML file to e-mail out, so I used the image map tool to do so.  However, when I copy/paste the completed HTML into an Outlook for Mac message (Command A; Command C; Command V), the image map/additional links do not transfer over once the file is pasted in an e-mail.  I also tested this with G-mail and the Apple E-mail app, and was not successful.  Please help.

You can't paste images into e-mails.  Use absolute links to images hosted on your domain server like this:

My avast! antivirus software is identifying two Trojan viruses on my MacBookPro (Max OSX 10.7.5) that seem to be related to my Outlook for Mac.
    An example of one of the file names is:  /.MobileBackups/Computer/2014-06-22-151618/Volume/Users/stevekreitner/Documents /Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/Main Identity [Backed up 2014-06-22 12.48.35]/Data Records/Message Attachments/0T/0B/0M/9K/x26_9605.olk14MsgAttach
Any suggestions on how to locate and remove these virsues?

Actually, you can delete the entire Main Identity folder for Outlook that has a backup date in brackets [xxx] as part of its name since that was created when you used the Microsoft Database Utility to rebuild your email database. The folder that is only named Main Identity is the one in use. The other is now nothing.
That should be true but sometimes users are in the wrong Identity. Outlook 'forgets' what is supposed to be the main default Identity and opens in the wrong one. You need to check the database file in the Identity to see date modified to know for sure.
Typically, after rebuilding you delete the rebuild after a bit when you are satisfied with the rebuild. There should only be one Identity in the Identities folder. However, most users don't understand what to do with the copy that is made and never deletes anything.

  • Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 (14.2.3) keeps producing the spinning wheel after implementation of Mountain Lion.

Since I started using Mountain Lion MS Outlook for Mac 2011 has become very slow, it continues to show the spinning wheel at almost everything I do. It is almost unworkable this way. Does anyone know how to solve this?

You can try rebuilding your database via the Database Utility. Make sure Outlook isn't holding onto any other databases other than yours. Also, if you're using an Exchange account with Outlook, try and keep your inbox as clean as possible. Microsoft claims that your main boxes (Inbox, Sent, Deleted, Drafts) should be kept as small as possible, and you should use a folder structure outside of these folders if you intend on saving and organizing old emails.
Is this just an Outlook issue, or are you seeing the speed problem anywhere else?

  • Unable to send email from Mac using Outlook for Mac 2011

I have a single user that cannot send email from the Mac after migrating to Exchange 2013 on-prem. I myself am on the same Exchange server and am using a Mac with Office 2011 and am able to send/receive emails without any issues.
When the user sends an email it goes to the sent mail folder and syncs with the server and can be seen on a windows machine running any other version of Office (same in OWA). I've logged the user in on my Mac and blown away my profile and seeing the same issue.
Not sure if this narrows my issue down to the Exchange server receiving the send request from a Mac or if it's some setting in Outlook on the Mac?
I do not see anything in the logs on the server and have not seen any error son the Mac.
Any thoughts as to where my issues is?

    Hi,
According to your description, I find that there is a single user cannot send email.
I suggest using Outlook on Windows machine and sending emails via this single user to verify whether the emails can be sent.
If the single user can send email via Outlook on Windows machine, it seems an issue on the Mac side.
I suggest asking Outlook for Mac Forum for help so that we can get more professional suggestions.
    For your convenience:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoutlook?tab=Threads
If can't send emails in Outlook, it seems an issue on the single user side.
I suggest trying to access the single user's mailbox via OWA to verify whether the mailbox has been migrated completely.
    Thanks

  • Send Issues with Outlook for Mac (2011 / V15) and Exchange 2013 SP1

    Hi all,
we have a strange issue with only with Outlook for Mac Users (version 2011 and the newest Outlook Version (V15) from Office 365) connected to our Exchange Server 2013 SP1. Some emails which we send out to the exactly same recipient are not sent through our
    Exchange Server.
We have sent 8 emails with subject "test1, test2, test3...". Only test 3-6 was arriving to the recipient. The other emails are in the "sent" folder but it was not sent out through the Exchange.
What we can see with "Get-MessageTrackingLog" is, that the Recipients and MessageSubject are empty for these emails:
    Timestamp Sender Recipients MessageSubject

We can still reproduce the issue on different Mac computers.
Thanks for any help in advance!

  • I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??  Thanks

I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??
Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???
    Thanks

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

  • Imac is 4 months old.  Using installed Outlook for Mac 2011 but now want to use ical so that I can start to use iCloud to sync with my Ipad2 and iPhone.  How do I move my calendar from outlook to ical on the iMac?

This is my first attempt at using this forum so please be patient with me.  I am new to the apple world.  Bought an Imac desktop computer back in October and installed Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 because I was used to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and outlook.  Now I am being told that I should be using ical for my calendar so that I will be better able to move to icloud for use between my Imac, Ipad2, and Iphone.
The question is:  how do I move my calendar which is in "Outlook for Mac 2011" into ical on my Mac?  Do I have to remove the Outlook entries from the computer and reinstall them back to the same machine or can I somehow move calendar entries within the machine?  I appreciate any help I can get.  Thanks.

I also already deleted my phone number from iMessage on my MBP.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • Syncing Outlook for Mac with a hotmail pop accountto 'mail' on iphone, ipad and ipod

I'm using Outlook for Mac 2011, with a hotmail account set up as a pop account to my outlook inbox.  I also have that same hotmail account set up on my iphone, ipad and ipod.  Is there a way to sync my e-mail between Outlook for Mac and the 'mail' on my other devices, so that when I delete an email on my computer, it deletes on all devices?
I'm not so tech savvy and am happy to provide any additional information but am not sure where to start!  I would appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thank you

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Contacts (Address Book).

  • Want to use Outlook for Mac 2011

    Hello!
I want to use Outlook for Mac 2011 for my calendar, email, and contacts on my Macbook Air, iPhone 6, and iPad Air.  Is this possible to sync with all these devices with this program?  I am more organized with Outlook than using the different Apple programs.  It has more options.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

If you have outlook on all 3 devices, should be okay. However, I am suggesting you to probably try the Apple's and get used to it as you are using all notebook, phoneme and tab with Apple. Might save you some money with that.
