HOW TO FIX CANNOT ALLOCATE A RESOURCE ERROR!!!
I found a fix that worked for me after failing with all the others:
IF your computer has an old cydia app called Wi-Fi Sync (you'll recognize it on your toolbar as a black silhouette of an iphone that NEVER goes away), then this is probably your main culprit. Simple fix.
1. Goto your hard drive in the finder
2. Goto Library
3. Goto Launch Daemons
4. Throw this in the trash: com.ghughes.wifisync.root.plist
5. Goto Library
6. Goto Application Support
7. Throw this in the trash: Wi-Fi Sync (it's an entire folder).
8. Restart.
9. Thank me.

Originally when 1.9 was beta tested the last widget selected "stuck" so it would be the one that came up next time entering widgets. Sometime (more recently) the retention stopped working. It has been reported to the development team but I have no idea if it is or isn't going to be changed in the bug fix release 1.9.1 (no idea when that will be rolled out).
BTW - I have also noticed that they are now sticking ads in the wideget carousel - BOO, HISS - Bad Verizon!!!

When I go to begin a text message by entering the person's name I am texting, an auto-fill list pops up of contacts that are not in any accounts of mine but I have messaged before. How do I clear this list? Alternatively, if I have someone in the autofill I want to add to my contacts, how do I do it?

After speaking to 3 apple support folks today, I did find a workaround. The trouble was worth it to avoid seeing an ex's name come up! I have an iPhone 5 with AT&T and I own a Mac.
An Apple tech advised I backup everything on iCloud or computer, create a new iCloud account, and essentially associate that new account with my phone, but use my old iCloud account in the Itunes/Apps settings to retain my music and apps. I recommend the following steps:
1. Back up your iPhone iCloud or your computer
2. Export all of your pics to iPhoto.
3. Using an app called My Contacts Export, I was able to export my 300 contacts into a vcf file to email myself. Very easy!
4. Someone may have a simpler way, but I found another app XCalendar (Excel Calendar) and exported my calendar into Excel and also emailed that to myself to manually re-enter entries (this was the ugly labor intensive part).
5. I created a new Apple ID to be used in ICloud (visit appleid.apple.com)
6. Settings, General, Reset "Erase All Content and Settings" to make the phone a newborn
7. I set up the phone as "new" meaning that I did not associate it with my old or new iCloud account. At that point, I immediately went to Settings, "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and set up my iCloud account using my newly created one. I added my old email accounts here as well which repopulated my inbox.
8. Plugging my iPhone into my Mac, I brought in the photos from iPhoto
9. I opened my email and used the vcf file I emailed myself using the My Contacts Export app and it immediately repopulated all of my contacts :-) So happy!
10. Brought in all of my music from the cloud as well as my apps by going into Settings, "iTunes & App Stores" and turning on iTunes match USING MY OLD APPLE ID (ICLOUD) <-- this is key!
11. Again with my phone plugged into my Mac, I went into iTunes and selected the iPhone icon on the top right near the search bar and went into the "App" tab where I "installed" all of my apps -- click "apply" and they all begin to appear on your phone again!
12. Also had to set up my wallpaper, change my sound and ringtone settings but no big deal to me.
A lot of trouble, but now I'm not reminded of my ex everytime I starting typing with the letter "A" -- well worth it to me at least!

A few weeks ago I downloaded some free software from the "tucows.com" website, it appears to have permanently hijacked my web browsers (both firefox and IE) so all searches go to their "searchqu" site, and new tabs open at that site. I was unable to repair this with the addins you suggested or by editing my user preferences files, and ended up having to reinstall firefox. Hopefully I won't run into the tucows rootkit ;)

I want to erase a site so that it isn't the first thing that comes up when I type into the url line

Every time I type into the URL a specific site is the first thing up. I would like to erase this site. I have tried clearing the history, doesn't do any good. I visit google 20 times a day but still this site is first everytime I start to type "g". How do I :
1) erase my preferences on the url line that pop up
2) better yet how do I get rid of the one offender from the list that pops up.

If that site has a star at the far right then it is a bookmark and you need to remove that bookmark by clicking the star and click the remove button. If the entry is not a bookmark then highlight the entry in the drop down list and press the Delete key.

Double click the iPod under Devices in the source list on the left side of the iTunes window then type in a new name.

Why does adobe bridge come on when I plug in my phone?

when i plug my phone or ipod touch into the computer sync cable the photo downloader comes on (this i like) but also adobe bridge. How can I make it not do that?thanks

You can do it.
Un-check the box as described before, then connect your device(s) & open Image Capture from /Applications.
Select each device in the left pane, & use the 'connecting this camera opens...' dialogue, choosing
the Photo Downloader.app inside Bridge.
First, open a Finder window & select your Bridge application. Right (ctrl) click it & choose 'show package contents'. Open the Contents/MacOS folder inside & locate Photo Downloader.
When you use Image Capture : choose 'Other...' from the list, then drag the Photo Downloader app from the Finder window onto the selection window that opens.
The next time you connect the device, Photo Downloader should open (it does here), with a dialog window including the option to 'Open Adobe Bridge' which you will want to un-check.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

So, my ipod will not stay on, when I take it off the charger it just goes dead. I cannot plug it into the computer and have it go on; I guess it doesn't have enough power for the battery. But, just the other day, I unplugged my ipod (went dead) plugged it back into my kitchen and now it goes on but an ITunes icon pops up and says for it to be plugged into it, but like I said it doesn't work on the computer. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

How does one delete the search history that comes up when I type in the search box?

When I type in the search box it reveals my past search , how do I delete or stop same.
I have deleted my browser history but this still shows.

You can right-click the text area in the search bar to "Clear Search History"
You can also disable: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: [ ] "Remember search and form history"

Help! I just fixed my iPhone 4s (the front and back screen and charging unit) but my iphone won't turn on! the only thing that happens is when its plugged into a charger the apple logo comes and goes. I havent turned my iPhone on since the summer btw.

Please answer my question asap!! And when I fixed it the guy said there was nothing broken on the inside (didn't fix it at apple btw)

Take it back to whoever "fixed" it, or buy a new phone. Apple won't touch it now.
