TS1538 even though i try all the steps to recover my ipod, nothing is happening. what should i do?

i have an ipod 2nd gen. and it says connnect to itunes, but it wont let me. and even though i try the steps to recover it nothing is working, it just stays on the same screen.
any help?

Purple Lobster your Creative Suite 4 serial number is for Windows or Mac only. If you were previously using it on Windows then it is likely you have a Windows license. Were you able to reset the account's password ? If not then how did you try to get it reset e.g. http://iforgot.apple.com (which would have sent it to the rescue email address if you have one on that account) ? You can also try contacting iTunes Support in your country to get it reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
And no, accounts can't be merged nor content transferred between accounts.

Continue to receive error 1604 and can't use the recover function - help! I have gone through all the steps listed in support and nothing has worked. I am using a usb port I tested with my printer cable and it's fine.

A printer does not require power, and does not transfer large amounts of data. So that is not a valid test. It's like saying "if I plug a nightlight into an outlet it works fine, so why do 2 hair dryers on at the same time trip a circuit breaker?"
Are you using a port directly on the computer, and not a hub? If it's not a laptop and it has ports on front and back are you using a back port, which can supply more power?

I have reset my iphone and made sure all updates have been done on my macbook pro and iphone. You must not have done ALL the steps. What version of iTunes are you using?

My first generation iPad is no longer recognized in iTunes. It just doesn't show up neither via USB nor via wi-fi.
I've checked the usb connection and cable and its OK.
I checked that iTunes is up to date on my Mac.
I reinstalled iTunes on my Mac.
I restarted my Mac,
I've restarted my iPad.
The iPad has IOS 4.3.1 (8G4) installed. And without the iPad being recognized in iTunes I can not update the IOS nor apps, nor remove unneeded photos. The iPad is completely filled up, no memory left to allow even updates via cellular or via wi-fi.
Trying to gain access to update the IOS and to update APPS and to remove the pics I already have backed up and do not need on this iPad locally.
PS: I even tried to connect the iPad to a different Mac and it was not seen in that iTunes either.
So, what can I do now?
Any suggestions besides using it as a paper weight?

Sorry, due to the Terms of Use problems with jailbroken devices can't be discussed here.
You can only get help from those people who told you to modify the software, only they know what the jailbreak did to the firmware.

We have had this issue many, many times before including on the latest 3.6 rev. It appears that when the applicationCache has an update triggered by a new manifest file, the browser may still use only its local network cache to check for updates to the files in the manifest, instead of forcing an HTTP request and revalidating both the browser cache and the applicationCache versions of the cached file (seems there is more than one). I have to assume this is a browser bug, as one should not have to frig with server Cache-Control headers and such to get this to work as expected (and even then it still doesn't sometimes).
The only thing that seems to fix the problem is setting network.http.use-cache to false (default is true) in about:config . This helps my case because we only ever run offline (applicationCache driven) apps in the affected browser (our managed mobile apps platform), but it will otherwise slow down your browser experience considerably.
