TS2771 why are we hearing only background sounds when using earbuds? works fine on ipod dock but not when earbud plug is pushed all the way in, it works when just barely pushed in. please someone tell me it is a "cheap" fix. :)

The headphones work with other devices it would appear the the headphone jack is bad and needs to be replaced.
A third-party place is a lot less expensive than Apple. Here is one:

Why are my imessages showing up as my email adress to one of my contacts but not the others?
When I use imessage there is one contact in my phone that recieves my messages from my email address... everyone else recieves them from my number exept him. I want to be able to use my imessage without it going as my email to him.
The problem is you are both using the same Apple ID.
You should each have your own.
Check the settings here:
Settings > Messages > Send & Recieve > remove the number that doesn't belong
This will fix the message problem but using the same Apple ID will also merge all iCloud items enabled on the device here:
Settings > iCloud
Such as:
Contacts, calendars , reminders, pjjotos, bookmarks, etc...
It can get quit messy. It is always best to use your own Apple iD if for nothing else but iCloud. -
My iMessage isn't working it won't let me sign in, it says verifying then takes me back to the first page, it used to work then just randomly stopped, I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but nothing works help please

I have done all system updates and still having problems. phone is 2 mos old--help!
I checked with the Genius Bar. It was a new dilema to the lady that was helping me. She took it to a back room and worked on it but it came out the same. She gave me some options for repair or credit for replacement.
I just kept the phone and put up with slowly charging it by plugging it in and then turning it off.
I couldn't transfer anything from itunes.
I finally got fed up and bought a new charging port for $10. and a toolkit for $3. I looked up a video on youTube for the replacement and did it.
That solved all the problems, it was the charging port, must have been some bad pins or something because it patially worked. -
No sound out of earphones. Yes, cord is all the way in the jack. Screen shows tune is "playing", but I can't get any sound out. Help
If this is the case, I recommend to visit Apple store to request for replacement. Cheers!

Starting about one month ago I have been hearing a background sound of a door opening or closing. When opening, it is the sound of a latch turning and then a creaking door sound, and when closing it is the sound of a slamming latch.It is intermittent, ocurring every 5-10 minutes or so when connected with Firefox. There is no apparent problem associated with sounds, I'm just wondering why it's happening and what it might mean.

why aren't most of the apps developed for other systems?I am equally disappointed by the lack of Android support.
Just a guess as to why there is so little support for Android ... I'd bet that Adobe is slow to release Android apps because Android is fragmented with a very broad range of versions out there. Even if Android device owners want to upgrade to the latest version of Android, they usually can't get an upgrade -- this may be a problem with the device manufacturer (there are many of them), a mobile carrier or even Google.
iOS devices only have 1 company involved in the update process: Apple. Since iOS is a closed platform - controlled by 1 company who pushes identical updates to most devices - it is a lot easier to maintain a reliable app for iOS users.
I don't want to switch to iOS devices, but I may have to until Adobe steps up its Android development. -
I have an iphone 4, when I plug in headphones I can pick up music and only background sounds, but no voices. It happens on every video or movie I see, but music works perfectly fine. Did anyone else have this problem or was it just me? If not can anyone help me?

It sounds like your vocal audio is not working with your headphones connected to your iPhone. I would start with the troubleshooting from the following article to help troubleshoot them named:

Update your software
Install the latest version of iOS. You can see which version is on your iPhone by going to the About screen.
If the device doesn't update successfully, the issue might be with your device and not the accessory. Learn how to check your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Disconnect and inspect the accessory, then restart your device
Disconnect the accessory and turn it off, if possible.
Inspect the connection between the accessory and device and make sure that no debris or other damage is present.
Restart your iOS device by turning it off, then back on. When the Home screen appears, reconnect the accessory.
Try a different device
Make sure the issue is with the accessory, if possible. Always use an identical or similar, compatible device with the accessory you're troubleshooting.
If there's static coming from the left audio channel when you use headphones, try connecting the headphones to a similar device.
If the device isn't syncing when connected to the dock, connect it directly to the computer using the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or try another USB port.

If Other (the yellow bar) is too big something is corrupted. The only solution (that I know of) is to restore from your most recent backup using iTunes (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766).

Emails like bills for my phone and electricity only exist if I do a search for them. They are not in any of my folders. My Junk folder was not previously visible but now is but is empty. Maybe future junk will go there but I still want to know where all the other emails are stored. Where is this limbo folder with emails that can only be found when searching?Are you talking about a Pop or IMAP mail account?
If IMAP and you are viewing the remote Junk Folder, does this folder get emptied by the server periodically?
Do you have settings in Thunderbird to auto delete Junk after x days?

Are you using Global Search?
The additional flters on the left side will help to narrow down the list.
If yes, click on 'Open email as list'
then right click on column headers and select 'Location'.
This will tell you the folder.
For future reference:
you could use Message Filters to capture those 'bill' emails and put them in a specific folder.
Create a folder called 'Bills'.
then create a message filter using info like this example.
Filter Name : Bills
Apply filter when:
* Select ' Manually Run
* Select; Getting new mail
* select: Filter before Junk classification
* select: Match any of the following
* 'FROM' and 'IS' and email address
* click on small +
* add another bill email address - repeat as required.
Perform these actions:
* 'Move message to' and select Bills folder on account.
* click on OK to create the Filter.
* Make sure it is enabled. -
i bought my ipad from ksa and am from egypt .. my ipad connected to the itunes in ksa but from someone else laptop and i came here to egypt and it says itunes could not connect to this ipad becuz an unknown error :S what should i do please someone tell me !!?
Your iPad is syncd with iTunes on your computer and your iTunes account controls what's in your iPad. Previously it must have been sync'd with another person's iTunes account in which case you need to completely clear it out to make it your own.
Go to Settings > General > Reset (at bottom) > Erase All Content and Settings
Then plug it into your computer and restore it with YOUR iTunes account.
Or if your have an iTunes account already setup under your name with your own apps and media -
Plug it into your computer, open iTunes if it doesn't open automatically and on your iPad page, click Restore
Let it proceed. Then the iPad will no longer be looking for someone else's account. -
I just got a new I Phone 4S and my volume is all the way up but the other person sounds far and i could bearly hear them. i checked all settings and they are all up as high as they can go. This is my first I Phone and don't know if this is normal for this phone

Congrats on the first iPhone. This is not normal. First check if moving the volume up or down either way has any impact on the sound. Then see what happens while on speakerphone. If you can hear ok on speakerphone, and there's no change from the regular earpiece with the volume changing, check with the carrier you received it from or the Apple store you purchased from. They will have other things to look at for you.
