TS3274 My iPad keeps closing out of apps ...

My iPad keeps closing out of apps, wouldnt let me delete email..is my memory too full.

Did you try either of these?
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
What do you mean it wouldn't let you delete your mail? Is the mail app crashing? You can swipe across the email in the preview window in order to delete it. You do not have to open the email in order to delete it.

  • My iPad keeps shutting down or Apps keep closing

My iPad keeps shutting down or apps keep closing.

Just wondering if you all remember when it started for you. I updated my iPad classic to v5 and i remember that it also did an auto update though iCloud a few days after that. I think mine started shutting down apps and safari after the iCloud update not with the first update to 5 over my computer. Is this happening to people with iPhones and it so which iPhone do you have?  I don't use an iPhone but my husband and son have the 3GS and I have not updated them yet or my sons iPad  I'm waiting to see if they fix this. I can't believe I got this typed and posted before safari shuts down and I have to start over. One more thing my iPad is not jailbreak.

  • My apps on my iPod 4th generation keep closing out on me, why does it do that, and how can I stop it?

My apps on my iPod 4th generation keep closing out on me, why does it do that, and how can I stop it?

The above comment is not helpful to me, and I'm also guessing many people, but who knows. I've seen the same recommendation in many, many threads on this same topic, but only once have I seen that the resolution solved the problem for anyone, unless those people didn't follow up. Anyway,I found the below comment which made sense and may be the source of the issue. Too many apps running in the background - turn them off or simply do a hard reset to kill them all at once.

Apparently, ios closes apps it can't (or thinks it can't) run because of too few RAM available. Double-press the home button and close any still running apps in the background. There are apps that serve to clear up some of your RAM. You will need to do this every once in a while, though.
Clearing disk space will also help - remove any files you don't need/use and try to keep a clean disc in overall.

  • IPad keeps crashing on all apps...safari, games, weather

iPad keeps crashing on all apps,,safari, games, weather,. After opening something about a minute it crashes. Very frustrating. Anyone with the same problem?

Well, what Nick wrote won't solve the issue. In fact, nowhere in the Apple discussion forums would you find the right answer; and I can guarantee, no Apple rep will be able to tell you what the issue is. Except me of course. Now that the self-boast is over, here's how to solve the problem once and for all (guaranteed zero crashes post this).
The basic crashing problem occurs because iPad 2 has an operating system that unfortunately opens up all apps automatically (unless instructed not to) and keeps them on the standby mode. This, combined with the fact that the iPad 2 does not have unlimited RAM (and neither does it have an intelligent process to use the hard disk when the RAM runs out), would lead to almost all iPad 2 units to crash, but only when users have loaded more number of apps than the RAM can handle.
There are three methods to resolve this issue for users (for developers and Apple tech personnel, the solutions are given later; you can contact me for the ex gratia OS source code updation to resolve this issue in case you wish):
SOLUTIONS FOR NEW USERS (warning: experienced users may find these instructions drawling out):
    1. The first method involves five concurrent steps, which I'll describe as 1a to 1e. Of course, this can be done in a shorter way, but I guess for people not conversant with shortcuts, this is better.
1a: Go to Settings > General > and switch on the "Multi tasking gestures" tab.
1b. Go to the home screen (by clicking on the Home Screen button on the iPad screen) and swipe four fingers from the bottom of the screen upwards. Do this once or twice and you'll suddenly see a new bench pop up below that contains many applications. These are the applications that are running on a stand by mode and eating up your RAM. Optimally, all of these should have been shut and only those which are being used by you should have been open. Anyway, move to 1c.
1c. On any of the app icons that you see on this new bench, keep a finger for a few seconds. Now lift your finger. You'll see all icons on the new bench start shaking - and they will additionally have a "-" sign too on their left. Click on this "-" sign and close all applications on the new bottom bench. Return to the Home Screen (click on the button on the iPad screen).
1d. The apps on the Home Screen are allocated the maximum RAM by the new OS. So, shift all downloaded apps away from the home screen into the subsequent pages. In other words, leave only the original Apple supplied apps (like Settings, Safari etc) on the main first page of the Home Screen. How does one shift other apps to subseqent pages? On any of the apps on the main Home Screen, keep a finger for a few seconds. Lift it the finger for god's sake :) Again, all icons will start shaking and will get a "x" sign on their top. DO NOT touch that "x" sign, which of course, is for deleting the app altogether. Rather, on any one of the non-original Apple apps that are present on the Home Screen, just  place your finger and without lifting the finger, slide the app to the top right corner of the screen and keep it there. You'll notice that the app suddenly gets shifted into the next page. Return to the Home Screen; repeat the process till "all" non original apps are shifted out.
1e. You can starrt working in peace right from this moment onwards without the ipad crashing. Just keep checking from time to time, how many apps are on standby (swipe four fingers upwards at any time on the iPad) and ensure that those that you are not using are closed.
1e rejoinder: Impotant instruction: NEVER work on your iPad2 while it is being recharged. The RAM gets screwed as in some iPads, there is no protective interface provided to insulate the CPU from the electrical currents. In fact, switch off your iPad while it is being recharged.
    SOLUTIONS FOR APPLE STAFF:
    1. Diret users to this thread.
    2. Offer users an upgraded RAM.
    3. Provide a protective interface to the CPU and RAM boxes from the electric charge.
    4. Recode the new OS (no need to copy what Vista does; just advise the OS to use the hard disk intelligently when app uage exceeds RAM; or do what Blackberry does - advice the users through a warning message to close down extra apps)
There you all go. (pardon the spelling mistakes; this was entered through a speech recognition sw)

  • Why does my iPad keep cutting out?

Why des my iPad keep cutting out? I can be using an app or surfing the net, and it cuts out an reverts to homepage.

Try closing all apps completely and then do a reset and see if that helps. To close all apps : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If you are on iOS 5 then you could also try turning off iCloud and multitasking gestures on the iPad.

  • My ipad keeps closing my programs

my ipad keeps closing my programs

You may have too much going on in the background.
Double tap the home button to bring up your recent apps. Hold down on one of the app icons until they all wiggle. Then tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the apps and to close them. Close all of your apps. Tap the home button to stop the wiggling then tap the screen. Now reboot - hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. Hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and then let go of the button.
You can also try a reset by holding down on the sleep button and home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.

  • My iPad keep dropping out on Internet

    Debug says something about JavaScript
    Any clues/solutions
Just did it while typing this !

    Try #5.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Why does my ipad1 keep closing out of games and Facebook before I want too?

Why does my ipad1 keep closing out of games and Facebook when I am looking at still playing or checking comments on Facebook? This has been happening more and more frequently.

Try reseting the iPad (different from restarting). Hold down on both the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds (ignore the red slider button). Keep holding both buttons until the Apple Logo appears. When you see the Apple logo on the black screen, let go of both buttons. Once it powers back up, try your games and Facebook. This "reset" fixes a lot of weird iPad issues.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • Why does my ipad keep timing out

My ipad keeps timing out saying server timed out every time I search the web or try to check my email

Maybe your firewall is causing the issue. Security/antivirus software can cause problems as well. Try rebooting your router. Sometimes that is all that it takes to keep you conected to the internet.
Unplug the router from the power source for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again. Restart your iPad as well. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Does anyone know how to solve my Ipad from blacking out during apps?

My IPad is blacking out during apps and going back to the main screen.  It will do it in Outlook, Internet as well as games.  Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Sometimes its bescause you have to much memory being used up. Id try:
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the bottom. Hold your finger down on any app until they wiggle. X out of any apps you are not using.
    2. Reboot. Hold the home and power button at the same time. Ignore the red slider. Until the screen goes black and the apple logo appears.
Try your game or app again. I know if you have a bunch of stuff running in the background, and run a game like infinity blade or a high processing game. The app will close on you.

Now I cannot get any further because the iPad keeps knocking out the WIFI connection for the whole household. I literally cannot set up my iPad because it keeps killing my connection the minute it is switched on. Can anyone help?

Sounds like there is a bug in the firmware of your router.
Check for a firmware update on the support web page of your router's manufacturer.
