I cant figure out how to get the default sounds to work. From my keyboard to some games installed before iOS 5.1.

Why can't I restore the same version IOS that's on my phone?

My iPhone 4s has apps on it that are not iOS 6x or even 7x compatible. iTunes/Apple won't let me restore the same version of iOS 5 that is currently on my phone that won't boot up. I have no options anymore except to pay.
1. I can pay a developer to migrate the app I use for work to iOS7 and eventually run into the same problem later and pay AGAIN.
2. I can ditch Apple (because there is no logical reason for this) and pay to go over to a Google phone and pay to migrate my app over to android but have the peace of mind that I won't be forced to do what android wants me to do anymore.
I bought an iPhone, an iPhone 3G, an iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4S. I don't like using the latest and greatest because I only really care about doing what *I* want to do with *MY* phone. I don't like being told I can't have what I've been using for the past 2 years because Apple has changed a policy or something.
Is Apple doing ANYTHING for people like me or are we just screwed? Can anyone explain why Apple would disallow reinstallation of an iOS i've been using for years now?

if you're saying the default function of 'restore' has always been update to latest for your device you'd all be correct.. but that's not what i'm talking about. shift+click restore and you'll be prompted to browse for your firmware. since the dawn of the iphone (ask anyone that's actually used this feature) you have always been able to use this feature to install same-version ios as to what version is on the device. in the past it was more open, allowing you to update to any version above the one you're on, but that was taken away back in IOS3.. for example.
i'm sure for the average user who has no idea what version ios they use or want this would be completely transparent so i don't really blame you for not knowing or using this feature. for others like me this is a big deal. hopefully someone else who is on the same page as i am will chime in..
i think it's a little crazy to force your users to only use the specific version ios you want them to. have you tried ios7 on an ipad2? hello lag. there are more reasons than mine to want to be able to control what software runs on YOUR hardware.. think about it.

Why can't I restore the controlfile from autobackup?

Something that I have always had a problem with is the restore controlfile from autobackup command. RMAN is configured to run autobackyps of the controlfiles.
I have setup a restore test and moved the backups over to the test machine. I have restored the spfile and modified the necessary init parameters. When I startup nomount and try to restore the controlfile from autobackup RMAN says it cannot find an autobackup controlfile.
I have always gotten around this by explicitly naming the controlfile to restore but am wondering what is possibly incorrect in my config such that RMAN doesn't know where to find the controlfile autbackups.

You must not specify any other format,only '%F'.
FRA structure should like <db_recovery_file_dest>/<SID>/AUTOBACKUP/<date>/<controlfile_backup>. Only when both is true, RMAN will find the autobackup, otherwise it searches in the OS dependent default location.

What happens when you try to access it, does the Library button for returning from the store not work/respond ?
Try closing the iBooks app via the taskbar and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the iBookd app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Why can"t I change the music on my iPad?

I have been trying to change the music on my iPad, but when I do it says I do not have enough room. First of all I have more than enough room and second, it will not remove the music I don't want. Thirdly, it puts stuff in the cloud, which I don't want. What am I doing wrong. Or am I forced to use the cloud and never change music?
Also the last couple of times I have backed up my pad it adds the apps from my iPhone. which I have to go through and delete one by one. Even though I have the iPad equivalent.

Why can't I restore the data from time machine?

I have backup all my data on time machine, and i'm pretty sure while i checked the file of those backup, those older data should be stored properly. But while i enter time machine, trying to find the date i wanna restore but i can't. only left few latest dates to choose. Anyone encounter the same issue? Anyone can help?

I'm unable to update software to iOS on my iPad. It's running 5.1.1 and says it's up to date. Also have iCloud on both. I have the first iPad 16.9 and have also bought more space. I've updated my iPhone. Which I'm wondering is why my photos stopped syncing to my iPad. I just took a trip to Alaska and would very much like to view those photos on my iPad. Thanks!

The original iPad cannot be updated beyond 5.1.1 so it can't run iOS 6. I'm not sure why your photo stream stopped working as you do not need iOS 6 to use it. It may be an issue with your wifi as some users are having difficulty uploading photos to photo stream on their home wifi after updating to iOS 6 (particularly if they have a Comcast/Xfinity router). To test whether that is the case, try going to a public wifi hotspot and taking a new photo, then see if it appears in your photo stream album in a minute or so. If it does, that isolates the problem as being with your home wifi.
Until you can get this resolved, a work around is to import the camera roll photos and videos from your phone to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then put the ones you want to have on your iPad in a folder and sync them to your iPad by selecting this folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing your iPad.

Why can't I use the spacebar on my Apple bluetooth keyboard to wake my iMac?

I'm pretty sure I was able to use Apple's Bluetooth keyboard to wake the machine before. The only solution I have so far is use the power button on the back of the iMac to wake it and worse, not letting the hard drive sleep in the first place. Neither of these options suit me very well. Anyone have a suggestion?

Why can't i sync the apps on my ipad to my mac?

I have several apps on my Ipad, however, the only things that sync to my Mac is my music and videos..help.

apps on ipads are in machine code for the type of computer proccessor called Arm
apps on the mac is in machine code for the type of computer proccessor called x86 (from intel)
they can not run eachothers apps

Tell Apple. However given that there were parts of iOS7 that the iPad 2 couldn't get, I don't find it surprising that it doesn't get all of iOS8.

Why can't I see the notes from my iPad on my iPhone

I cannot see any notes via iCloud from the other apple device. I have iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. I did backups on both of them, still not able to see notes from iPad on my phone. I have to type them in separately on each device.

thanks for helping me troubleshoot, yes they are both turned on. Then I did icloud manual backup. I don't think I've ever been able to see the notes from one on the other, but I saw it was featured and I have tried without success to get them to sync. My pictures do, but my notes won't.
