Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I understand that when setting up your iCloud account you accidentally misspelled the login info. The iCloud account username is an Apple ID and there is a terrific article that can show you how to edit that Apple ID and correct it. Be sure to make sure you follow the top section, Before you change your Apple ID, before proceeding to the steps to change it.

Besides setting the iTunes store to the US, you will also need
a credit card issued in the US with billing address in the US;
you also are supposed to be located in the US when using the
US store, and there are periodic software checks to verify that.
Simply changing the iTunes store to the US iTunes store will
not allow you to make purchases/download free apps without
meeting the other requirements. Do you meet them?

Look in Mail Preferences>Accounts, the Full Name field.

Have you tried your spam folder? it could have gone there by default. also, are you sure you put the correct email in for iCloud?

TS3988 When setting up the icloud control panel. I get a message saying unexpected error.

You must create an iCloud account using a Mac, or an IOS device. Once you have done that your PC can sign in and use it.

My iCloud Account is displayed with an old ID. How do I change this? Additionally, I have forgotten the password associated with the old ID.

My husband and I both have email accounts on my iMac using Mavericks. Often we both receive an the same emails. If one of us opens the email on their account it automatically considers the email as read on both accounts. I would like to change this.

By the sounds of it you have linked Email Accounts, if so this means that you will both recieve the majority of the same Emails, and if you do and you read them on your account (which is linked with your husbands) then they will appear to read on the both of them because they are linked. With the majority of Email providers these days they're Emails are (simplified) in the cloud you could say, meaning that if you read or delete shared Emails then it will do the same on both accounts rather than just the yours.

When I try to download a document, Firefox always takes me to the same subdirectory on my computer, and I would like to change that to a different subdirectory but cannot figure out how.

You can change the default download location by going to ''Tools > Options > General''. The [[Options window - General panel]] has some extra information on all of the options available.

When clicking on a bookmark the screen quite often reduces to a vertical strip covering about one-third of my PC screen, and I would like to prevent this happening.

I can't give more detail because the question is self-evident. I can expand the reduced screen in the usual way, but it is a bore to have to do so. The problem used to be spasmodic, but now happens (I think) every time.

Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).<br />
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the side bar" is not selected.<br />

The font on my browser (not web pages but where I type the URL, my bookmarks, etc.) was set to something fancy by my predecessor and I would like to change it back to something normal. Help!

The tabs for my bookmarks, the url bar, the loading messages.. all are in this fancy script and it's impossible to read quickly.

Another possibility is they added some code to a file called userChrome.css to change the fonts.
First you need to locate the profile folder, for details of how to find it see the [[profiles]] article. Once you have opened the profile folder you can close Firefox. Inside the profile folder there should be a sub folder called chrome, open that folder.
If there is a file inside there called userChrome.css, rename it to userChrome.css.old, now restart Firefox to see if the fonts are back to the default fonts.

A friend used my computer, and sync is set up with HER email, and I would like to delete that and put in my email address.

I don't recall setting up sync acct. But am not computer savvy (can get by). Was checking out Sync and discovered that an acct is set up, but not with my email. My friend has used my computer, and I don't know if she meant to do it, but now acct. is under her email, and I would like to change this, but am afraid of deleting all data, and making a mess of something already messed up.

I hope you aren't saving passwords in Firefox, because your "friend" may have sync'd all your passwords to another PC.
