  • I can't finish downloading a rented movie on my ipad

WWhen downloading two rental movies, the icons appeared in the video app on my iPad, bit the download was never completed.  I can see a summary of the plot but cannot play either movie.  How can I get it to continue downloading?  When I go to iTunes I down see the download icon.
I'm using iPad model MC775LLA.  I have 57.2 GB capacity and operating system 8.3

Reset your iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, you will not lose any data.
IF the downloads will not resume after restarting, try turning WiFi on on the iPad or put it into Airplane Mode. Reset the iPad and then enable WiFi and see f the downloads resume.
BTW, no need to post  the same question twice.

  • TS1702 i am having difficulty downloading a rented movies on my ipad iOS 2 days and still tells me to try later this is my first time downloading movies on my ipad

is there anyone that can tell me why i cannot download rented movies from itune store to my ipad and why its taking forever to download, and when its done it tells me cannot download @ this time try again?

    Hi John
iTunes Support wasn't of any use to me.
I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb.  This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well.  This might be the common thread.

  • When trying to download a rented movie directly from iTunes onto iPad it NEVER finishes downloading.  It constantly starts over.  HELP

When I try to download a rented movie directly from ipad it never finishes downloading.  It starts and gets close and then starts over again.  HELP

    Two possible reasons:
    1. Not enough space
    2. Slow internet

  • Why won't my rented movie synch from ipad to computer?

When I download a rented movie onto my ipad it no longer syncs to my dell laptop and so doesn't get onto my iphone.  This used to work but now it doesn't.  Also, my ipad seems to think it has way more video on it than it really does -- is this a related problem?  The color bar at the bottom of the screen that shows how much space is taken up with video shows way too much video if I try to sync even one tv show.  Help!

Films that you rent and download directly on the iPad cannot then be transferred to a different device - if you want to be able to copy rentals to other devices then you need to rent and download it via your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415

  • HT1657 Once I download a rented movie do I need Internet connection to watch

Once I download a rented movie on iTunes doi need Internet connection to watch it.

Please be aware of the movie rental's time limitation that you have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to finish watching it. You may watch it as many times as you like during those 24 hours. It may be helpful to make sure the download completes successfully before you begin watching the movie.
Once the download is complete you can watch it without an Internet connection. However, an Internet connection to the iTunes Store is required to authorize playback or activate the 24 hours time-limit of movie rentals. This means, only during the starting of the movie. Once you have started playing the movie rental, internet connection is not required. You can play anywhere without internet connection.
For more information on movie rentals, you can visit:

Note: 24 hours time limit is for United States customer only, while 48 hours for other countries.

  • Why will it take 26  hours to download a rented movie?

Why will it take 26+ hours to download a rented movie?

For watching a movie only the download speed matters, and 4 mbps is OK, not great but good enough to start streaming a movie in about 10 minutes or less (rentals don't have to download all the way to begin watching).
Something else is clogging the pipe ... is the ATV connected to the router via Ethernet, or over Wi-Fi?  Wi-Fi is normally faster than your ISP service, but there might be router settings that are getting in the way of the Wi-Fi connection.  Ethernet may be faster, at least to see if it works better, or there might be port settings on your router that need to be optimized (sorry, can't help you there).
I've also heard that changing your router's DNS address may help things (try OpenDNS's addresses "208.67.222.220" or "208.67.222.222", or Google's DNS "8.8.4.4" or "8.8.8.8").

    Hey rangermikegsm,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re concerned because you don’t see your rentals in iTunes, but they appear to have downloaded. Take a look at the article below and check the Rentals tab in iTunes on your MacBook.
About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
    Find movies you rented previously
Find your movie on the device you used to rent it.
On a Mac or PC: Go to the Rentals tab in the Movies section of the iTunes Library.
On an iOS device: Go to the Rental tab of the Videos app.
Using Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): Look in the top shelf of the main menu.
    Ciao,
    -Jason

Are you doing it thru the Settings panel or are you downloading independently thru the App Store?
Settings / Facebook / Install on iOS 6.1.3 Will need to sign in your valid FB account.

  • HT1430 How do I delete a movie or can I move it so I can download a RENTED movie?  I appreciate all of everyone's help

How do delete a movie download or move it somewhere so I can download a RENTED movie?

Thank you for the reply roaming gnome.
Unfortunately, I already have "hidden" these purchases in the past. Despite "hiding" them, they still attempt to download to my computer automatically.
Please note, I DID NOT PURCHASE this movie. A friend purchased it for me as a gift through iTunes.
Again, thank you for the link to the Apple Support page, but that does not resolve my issue.
Please see the attached screenshot for what I see when I go to Purchases > Movies. Nothing shows up - presumably because I already "hid" them in the past.
Selecting "Not in My Library" under "Movies" has the same display. The movie I want to delete does not show up under "Music" "TV Shows" "Apps" or "Books," as well.

You may want to try resetting Winsock as a temporary fix.
    1. To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Right click All Programs and choose Accessories > Command Prompt. Choose to open as an administrator.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run and type in cmd.
