TS4605 I restored my iphone with a back up on my itunes and deleted all my information on the phone...
Well, actually, it's a little more complicated than that.
It all started because out of the blue, all my contacts became unidentifiable(just numbers without any names/labels.) So I looked online for some feedback and most sites said that I should restore settings with back ups from either Itunes or icloud...so I did. I tried to restore it through my itunes because it was the most up to date with my phone, my icloud hasn't been backed up since almost a year ago! Anyways, restored the thing and it went to it's beginning feature greeting me with a "Hello" in many different languages(with a white background and simple black font.) It then asked me to choose a language, then a country/region, wifi, and then set up iphone option-which included-"set up as new iphone, restore from icloud backup, and restore from itunes backup"...I chose itunes backup, which didn't go through...or something because it kept looping from it's "connected to itunes" screen and "connect to itunes"...and restore anything(at least from what i'm seeing.) Anyways, so I idiotically decided to restore from icloud backup just to test if it would work, and it did...erasing all my current data/information and restoring something from January 2014!!! I've been trying to re-restore it back to not having contacts but having my current information on my phone because I could just manually type in all my contacts, that would be better than losing all my current information. Please help me figure out the most effective way to restore/backup my phone back to its normal state!
info:
iphone4s-software up to date since yesterday Aug 28, 2014 (and has a back up on itunes from this date as well, which I;ve been trying for a back up format)
Thank you,
Payten
update:I tried using the itunes back up through a software called "iBackup" and it seemed promising...but now it's stuck on the turning on screen(black background with a white apple icon in the middle.) It won't go past this screen!!! Ahhhh please help me!

I recently got a new laptop, it has no music on it and I have been plugging my iPod in and listening to music that way. Tonight it decided to sync with my iTunes and deleted all of my music. Is there any way I can get my music back?

I plugged into iTunes and now all my notes on my phone are gone. Years worth of notes that I stupidly don't have saved anywhere else. Can someone tell me what to do to get them back?? After you restore from backup, you MUST sync to restore your iTunes content. No iTunes content is included in the iPhone backup. Your apps should be in your iTunes library, just sync them back to your phone. If for some reason your apps are not in your library, you can re-download them for free:

When I plug in iPhone (5.1.1) to computer, playlists show up on the iPhone (when plugged in), that do not appear when it is not plugged in. And I can't erase them. I have iTunes match, and deleted all my music on the iPhone, but that had no effect on the phantom playlist that shows up on the PC when I plug in the iPhone to the PC. I cannot manually move songs or playlists from the PC to the iPhone
Help greatly appreciated.Unplug your Iphone out of your computer and replug it back in. It took me several times before I could do this

I have changed my Iphone once last year. My iphone has being playing up for the best part of 6 months. It Keeps deleting all my music of the phone. it freezes and will not allow me to turn it on or off. if i am in the middle of an app it will randomly shut it down and turn the phone off totally (even if it is charged.) It will not charge properly, it has to be in a exact position to charge and even then go's off and on. I thought this my be my charger but the charger works fine on another phone. it will not allow texts to come through properly and sometimes will not not let me ring people it just freezes and i have to turn it off and on a couple of times in order for it to work. it will not let me update apps and the silent button is not silent it still go's of on ringer. The keyboard will freeze up not allowing me to type anything. It wants me to pay £126.44 for it to be repaire when i have nothing to do with why its not working!
That is correct.

I lost all of my information from my phone....I didn't back up before plugging in
If you just bought the iPhone today, the first time you connect a new iPhone or iOS device to iTunes the first time that is used to sync with another iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iOS device to the new iOS device, or set up the new device as a new device.
Sounds like you did the former and if so, this did not include backing up the new iPhone first. All data on the iPhone was replaced with the backup for the iPod Touch. The data that was on the iPhone at that time is gone. -
My husband and I use the same apple ID. I started using a new iPhone and deleted his contacts from my phone which has also deleted them from his phone. He hasn't backed up his phone but my iPad is backed to iCloud. Can I retrieve the contacts from this?
In preferences turn on iTunes sharing in iTunes preferences and keep iTunes turned on in both accounts. Or better yet put the iTunes library on the main HD rather than in an account and set the location of the library to that location in iTunes preferences.

Since changing to icloud, my iphone is no longer recognised in itunes and does not show as a device nor can I sync it to my Macbook.
Any suggestions pleaseNothing has changed that would affect the way the iPad is recognized in iTunes. Here is the link to Apple's support article on this issue.

You probably have done all of these steps except for....
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or earlier only: Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service.

I'm replacing my 3rd gen 16gb Ipod Touch with a new 4th gen Ipod Touch. I'm wondering how I can delete all of the apps, photos, music, etc.
from my old Ipod but still have all of the items available to install on my new Ipod? Help please!Right click on your old iPod in the device list and choose "transfer purchases". This will copy all bought media from your device to your iTunes library.
Back up manually by right clicking again and choosing "backup" to save all settings, 3rd party app data, contact info, calendars etc. The content of a backup is also described here: iTunes: About iOS backups
After that set it up "as new device", to delete everything and get it back to factory settings.
Connect your new iPod, let iTunes set it up and use the manual backup from your old iPod to restore from. This should sync all data back to your new device again.

I am so sorry that I ever signed up for iCloud. The only thing that ever worked is that I had two messages drop into iCloud when there was an open wifi connection. It is synced with Yahoo. It was taking up so much space as I had a lot of attachments, nothing sent, they just sat there, I had to cut and paste them into my Yahoo! account and send them.
Last nigth were were looking at the reason that my brand new Mac Air had ZERO memory. It was the iCloud messages that were stuck. I then went in and deleted everything. I have tried to turn iCloud off via a pull down menu. Did not work. I have now lost all of my sent and received messages in my Yahoo Account. My inbox is completely empty. I believe I still have sent messages though. These were messages that I had cut and pasted into Yahoo! to get them sent. Now my Yahoo! is wiped out.
I am a writer. I need those messages recovered. I am an end user. I need instructions in English on how to recover this. If there is anyone that can help me, I am desparate. I imagine Apple could retrieve them for me though there is no where to contact them.
I thought it was cool until, such time as I LOST EVERYTHING.Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. This is suing EXPEDIA and Tripadviosr.com

Im trying to snyc my Iphone 4s with a new laptop (sony Vivo) The phone has already been snyced with another computer and now now of my playlists will snyc from the new computer. How do you snyc to a new laptop.
Your data is trandferred from the computer to the phone, not the other way round. You need to copy all the appropriate files and your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer, then sync. (If you no longer have the old computer, you will of course have backups available)

I forgot my password to my iphone, and now it disables, its not connected to itunes yet and when i have tried just then restore it, it wouldnt pick up the iphone. I have restarted it and pressed the home button that doesnt work either, and also it doesnt have icloud, i dont have apple store near me either. What should i do?
Are you running the most current version of iTunes (11.4)?
Try DFU Mode:
1. Plug your device into your computer.
2. Turn off the device.
3. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
4. Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
5. Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
6. Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode
NOTE: Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present. Be patient, it make take several tries.
DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode is different than Recovery Mode.
DFU Mode is a special mode where the device can still interface with iTunes, yet it does not load the iBoot bootloader.
