TUB 35 - Connecticut Employers FUTA Debt Repayment Tax

Dear all:
Im dealing with TUB 35 and this change: "Adds a new tax type that uses a $7,000 maximum wage base and a .3% tax rate", anyone could give me a hand with that, I cant understand very well what is going to change for CT employees and how proceed to implement this bulletin.. I just saw this thread Setting up FUTA - Credit Reduction mapping TUBs Tax type 011 , but I would like to know if there is a SAP note where they explain in more detail what has to be done
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Best regards

Ora,
SAP Note 1660462 (BSI TUB 046) addresses Tax Type 11 for AR, CA,  KY, MO, and VA. One of the tables it updates is T5UTX.
SAP Note 1661746 (BSI TUB 047) addresses Tax Type 11 for  IN, RI, and WI. It also provides an update to the T5UTX table.
Tax Type 11 for NC has been available for a while. I donu2019t know which note provided the functionality.

Howard

  • Tax - Michigan New Employers FUTA Debt Repayment Tax

    Hi,
My client has implemented SAP note 1422655.  The note states to configure unemployment tax type 11 for Michigan state BEFORE applying the instructions of the note.  The configuration for tax type 11 for Michigan were not released to PRD before applying the note as stated.  What would be the consequences of applying the configuration now that the note is already applied?
Your assistance is appreciated and will be rewarded with points.
    thanks

    Hi Arti,
We have also applied note 1422655 and config tax type 11 in our PROD enviornment. After the application we are encourtering negative TCRT for /D11 as a result of tax type 11 using the FUTA YTD wages.
The wage base to Federal /710 is generally lower than the MI /710.  If someone has tips and retros back it reduces the tips /D11 and the /411 in the same proportion they were accumulated. This isnu2019t accurate as the /F11 base doesnu2019t change. The reduction  should only be on the /411 unless the /F11 base changes. This is causing negative taxes for the D11 tips because the new change reduces the /D11 below what it was actually accumulated.
Also any partners who have moved from one state to another are accumulating MI surcharge on other state /710 wages because the federal base /710 is being used for the tax calculation. A MI employer should not have to pay /410 taxes on wages accumulated in another state.
I have an note out on this issue but has tip and transfer between states been looked at?
    Thanks.

  • TUB 166 and OSS Note 1422655 -- Michigan FUTA

We have applied TUB 166 and would like to get the Michigan taxes straightened out since the changes are retroactive to 1/1/2009.  I found OSS note 1422655 and it says 'Before apply the instructions of this note, it is necessary to configure unemploymnet tax type 11 for Michigan state in your tax model'.  Does that mean that I need to add a record to table V_T5UTD (Config step 'Maintain Tax Types per Tax Authority') and that is the only thing I need to do?  Thanks.

    Hi ,
You have to mantain the following config. :
    1) Tax Model Tables T5UTE, T5UTM and T5UTY.
    2) Also mandatory to maintain V_T5UTD (Maintain Tax Type 11 per Tax Auth - - Michigan in this case) and V_T5UTI (Mantain Tax Type per Tax Company Code per Tax Auth ).
    3) Also ensure that tax type 11 is maintained at BSI Tax Factory's end for Michigan
FYI: Tax Type 11 is  Employer Debt Repayment Tax
    Thanks And Regards,
    Somdeb.

  • Self-adjusting tax types for the US

    Hi everyone,
In the US, there are 89 tax types.  I know that UI and FICA taxes are self-adjusting.  How do I find out if say tax type 51 - ee occupation tax is self-adjusting?  This could tax authority dependent because say for tax type 51, one state may have a max/limit but another state may not.
Is there a way I can find this out?
    Regards,
    Jasper

  • TUB 184 change for Maryland  (Tax Type 001)

    Hi,
We have applied TUBS 184 in the system however system not working for Maryland as per TUB 184 where the change is for Tax type 001 (Increases the annual minimum wage threshold FROM $8,950 TO $9,350 for formula numbers 3 (FN:3) and 4 (FN:4). Note:  This change is effective immediately.)
Could anybody pls let me know where do we maintain these changes for the minimum wage threshhold ?
If it Is it BSI Taxfactory where in that, or in other SAP table?
    Waiting for reply,
    Saurabh Gar

    Hello Saurabh,
Mostly these changes are applied automatically. You don't need to maintain manually.
Did you check the SAP Tub note for 184? Check to see if there is any change required manually.

  • Tax Type 11 - Arkansas and California

    Hello Gurus
We have configured Tax type 11(Employer Debt Repayment)  for Arkansas and California as part of TUB 46
The maximum earning base is 7000 to be deducted at 0.3%.
The /411 calculation seems to be maxed out at 21 USD however the earnings /711 are not correctly maxed out at 7000.
For Arkansas it never exceeds the limit and for California it exceeds the ceiling of 7000
Did you have any error implementing this
    Apppreciate your inputs
    Regards
    Ajay

    Hello,
Kindly clarify whether you have introduced the Tax type 11 in the start of the year or after some period is run. If it is from start of first period then /711 will be passed to BSI to calculate the tax. If it is after some period then kindly read below
    About Tax Type 11:
As you may know, in BSI Tax Factory script we have a parameter Year Wages (YW:), that is nothing else than the total of taxable wages for this tax type/tax authority, or in other words wage type /7** from TCRT table for the corresponding tax company/tax authority/tax type.
For tax type 11, SAP payroll sends to BSI Tax Factory Script the year wages of tax type 10 - Federal.
What happens here: if you configure tax type 11 in tax model after employee reaches ceiling for tax type 10 Federal, payroll will send to BSI Year Wages of $ 7,000. As tax type 11 is a self-adjusted tax type, BSI will calculate the tax amount for $ 7,000, which is the ceiling for tax type 11 as well. If you force a retro, you will send the Year Wages according to each payroll period, and, therefore, wage type /711 will be calculated accordingly.
This is the way that the SAP and BSI systems were designed to work.

    S.Karthik

  • State Unemployment Insurance tax?

    Hi
What is the Contribution Rate towards State Unemployment Insurance tax in US-Payroll .i.e is Tax type 7?      Is it 6.8%?       If it is 6.8% then the total 6.8% is contributed by Employee alone or both Employee and Employer ?  Then what is the difference between tax type 7, Tax type 10(Employer Unemployment tax) and tax type 20(Employee Unemployment tax)? What is the relationship between Tax type 7, 10, 20 and IT 0209?
    Regards
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
Every state have different SUI tax rates and their SUI tax base wages for year 2014. Check the APA site for the latest tax rate and tax wage bases. Like for Indiana the SUI tax rate is from .5% to 9.4% and for year 2014 the tax base is $9500. Check this link
    http://www.americanpayroll.org/members/stateui/state-ui-2/
Now it depends on States if they want employers to file SUI, if yes then tax type 07(State) i.e. (SUTA) and tax type 10 (Fed) is being configured and if not then only tax type 10 is configured to calculate the federal unemployment i.e. (FUTA). Now these are Employer liabilities and cannot deduct it from employees paycheck but in some states like AL, NJ and PA require employers to take unemployment tax deductions from employees. and in that case tax type 20 and tax type 10 is required.
IT0209 - you need to configure all the work-sites in respect to calculate unemployment tax.
Hope this information helps a bit.
    Thx,
    Ashish

  • Non-Residence Tax - Withholding

I am preparing masterdata setup to do functional testing on TUB # 197. Within SAP, how do you set up the masterdata to test out Non-Residence Tax? Specifically, How do you get a township's withholding to pass to BSI? How should the deduction be  setup in SAP and ensure that it is being passed to BSI to calculate?
Being that this is a non resident tax, I would assume that it would be the work record. I need recommedations on how to pass the withholding for a particular authority. The Regulatory Bulletin changes the tax rate in the TaxFactory database. It will not change the information passed to BSI to calculate.
    Thanks,

Howard, I checked table T5UTI and the tax area is there. The tax authority is already in table T5UTE as well. I think the problem may be with the tax model associated with the tax area. The TUB is delivering a change to the tax area where there is a decrease in the Non-Residence Tax Rate from 1% to .5%. When I test an employee that has this specific tax area on the IT0208 record the results are as follows,,,,
It pulls in tax type 84 which in PA is local service tax prorated amount of $2 per pay period. I expected to see tax type 01 withholding since this change is affecting withholding tax.
So, I summize that the tax model that is attached to this particular tax area is incorrect. Not sure which tax model I should change it to.
    Thanks,

  • Element Creation for STD Sick Pay

I am looking for information pertaining to the element set up requirements (including balance feeds) for the use with STD Sick Pay.
All our STD sick pay payments are made by a contracted insurance company. The insurance company withholds only EE FICA taxes, which in turn are reported and remitted to the IRS.
Our requirement is to record these payments on the employee's payroll record, report and remit the matching ER FICA, FUTA and SUI taxes. In addition, we are to include these payments in the year-end W-2 information.
How have other Oracle users set up element(s) to accomodate the requirements of such reporting?
Any information would be greatly appreciated,
    Dawn Weis, CPP
    Payroll Manager

    Dawn,
The Third Party Sick Pay information will need to be entered into the payroll via Balance Adjustments.
Here are two notes you can reference that cover how to enter the balances into the system.
Note.301933.1 - How Do You Populate Third Party Sick Tax Already Withheld By The Insurance Company Onto Line 9 Of The 941?:

  • Difference between BSI 8.0 and 8.0G

    Hello All
Can someone tell me the Difference between BSI 8.0 and 8.0G?
    Thanks

    Charlene :
Below is the cut and paste message from BSI on the reason of BSI 80g to be used on first payroll on 2008. In short, this version contains certain critical tax change/calculation not in lower version of BSI 80 (e.g. e and f). If you already upgraded to BSI 80, then this is just a cyclic update (not as bad as from 70 to 80) plus tubs up to 68 (to include PA tax changes).
    Rgds.
Please note this is a Mandatory cyclic upgrade, due to BSI modifications to benefit plan and earning type data layout information, and to accommodate additional Pennsylvania Local Services Tax (LST) changes effective January 1, 2008.  Pennsylvania Local Services Tax (LST) rates are scheduled to be published by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) on December 15, 2007.  BSI will issue the pertinent data updates shortly thereafter.  Due to the anticipated volume of changes, we expect to issue the data updates over several TUBs.
This cyclic upgrade must be installed as soon as possible, prior to running your first 2008 payroll, in order to keep your TaxFactory system current.  Please check with your vendor for certification information.

  • SUI rate update incomplete

    HI Experts,
We have recently installed TUB 44 in our system, this TUB carries SUI rate for IOWA, however the TUB only updated the SUI rate leaving the Maximum wage same as previous one which should be changed as well to new as per the request state revenue office.
The table T5UTX carries new rate value for year 2012, but the wage is of 2011.
what should I do to update the system to new rate and maximum wage? Update V_BTXRATE table with the new value?
Do I need to delimit the 2012 rate update in T5UTX (which is not recommended to edit). which table's value will the system pick during payroll processing concerning the date.
    thanks.
    Mark.

If you already applied SAP tub corresponding to BSI bulletin 44, 'IA' / tax type '10' should have both rate and ceiling changed starting 01/01/12. I'm not sure why your system still has old ceiling for 2012. However, you should be able to update this ceiling in V_T5UTX ignore the warning (should not be a risk, as it's the correct ceiling).
As for V_BTXRATE, this is  the true SUI rate for specific tax companies (based on experience rate prior). If rate is different than what's in T5UTX, you can override the standard rate with rate in V_BTXRATE. Note, you'll need to config rate for V_BTXRATE in BOTH SAP and BSI .

  • Michigan FUTA Credit - How to accrue for tax liability

My client has OSS Note 1413275 and 1422655.  However, how is the FUTA tax liability accrued?  My client has employees that live in Michigan and other states so we need to apply this tax to only the Michigan employees.  How do we do this?
    thank you,

I found the answer:  assign tax type 11 to Michigan
    thanks

  • TUB/Tax Type Maintenance

    Hello Experts!
If a certain tax type is being updated with a new value, i.e. say a certain TUB updates tax type 010 (Employer Unemployment Tax) for a certain state - increases the maximum wage base from $10,000 to $11,000, where would I see this change? Is there a table where I can check if the change was successfully made?
    Thank you

You can see the BSI company experience rate thru table BTXRATE table thru se16.
    or
Img-> payroll (country) -> Tax -> Tax data maintenance -> unempoyment insurance -> define BSI tax company experience rates.
select your state, tax type and display. This will show your the BSI experience rate and max salry. amount. This is the place where you def. the rate and sal.
Note: These rate need not have to be state given, it be be based on how much your company want.
These rate in SAP must also match with the one in BSI.
