Tunning ospf dr/bdr eletction time
Hello.
I just want to know how to reduce ospf adjacency time.
When broadcast mode, it takes long time to elect DR/BDR when routers are in 2way state.
Is there any way to pass quickly this state?
Thank you : )

If there are just two neighbors, you could set their OSPF mode to point-to-point. Then they will establish adjacency much faster.

Running RIPv2 and OSPF at the same time
What are the problems with running RIPv2 and OSPF at the same time if any? I have the gear capable of that and I have been doing this for over a year now. I wanted to get rid of RIP but my couterpart is scared because he is not OSPF skilled. I do have some remote sites with old 1601s to consider. Any suggestions or recommendations.
ThanksHi Friend,
OSPF is far better than RIP when it comes to performance and advatnages compared to RIP and no doubt in that though it is complex to implement compared to RIP but once done it is smooth.
It is important to have a very well designed network with OSPF otherwise the behavior is unpredictable sometimes and it may not give desired results.
Also for your low capability routers like 1601s you can put them into stub or total stubby area so that they may have less load on them.

When watching a movie purchased through I tunes it shuts off several times during play?
Hello Boris73
Try deleting the tracks from your iTunes library and then downloading them again to test the playback. If it continues, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Dear all,
I have sum SQL which takes long time ... can any one help me to tune this.... thank You

Thank You.....Thanks a lot,
i did change the SQL it works fine but slows down my main query.... actually my main query is calling a function which does the sum......
here is the query.....?

AND :p_agency_group = DECODE(:p_agency_group,'ALL', 'ALL',c.v_ird_region)
group by a.n_agent_no, a.v_agent_code, a.n_channel_no, v_iden_no, a.n_cust_ref_no, a.v_agent_type, a.v_company_code, a.v_company_branch, a.v_it_no, bfn_get_agent_name(a.n_agent_no) ,
BPG_AGENCY_GEN_ACL_TAX.BFN_GET_TAX_AMOUNT(:P_FROM_DATE,:P_TO_DATE,:P_LOB_CODE,A.N_AGENT_NO),
c.v_ird_region
ORDER BY c.v_ird_region, a.v_agent_code DESC)
A
WHERE (COMM < :P_VAL_IND OR COMM >=:P_VAL_IND1);
Any idea to make this faster....
Thank You... -
I have tried numerous times to install and uninstall i tunes on windows vista and I keep getting an error message of no apple support. Anyone have a solution to this?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version, or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Approach to tune a query in short time
Hi All,
Oracle 10g I know this question is asked number of times and there are many good replies to them.
But I just want to know how to approach a completely new query ( like the task given to me to fine tume a query in 1 day when I dont have even the slightest idea about how to proceed) if the timeline is very stringent and by just looking at the explain plan, you have to take the decision.
I am just posting my query here and what I am looking for is some lead on how to identify the congetion point which is where this query takes long time ( in my case some 15 mins as reported to me)

in your explain plan:
HASH JOIN RIGHT SEMI Cost=17457 Cardinality=1 Bytes=248
VIEW Object owner=SYS Object name=VW_NSO_1 Cost=1119 Cardinality=30 Bytes=150
HASH JOIN Cost=1119 Cardinality=30 Bytes=2040

HASH JOIN Cost=1102 Cardinality=3602 Bytes=82846
INDEX RANGE SCAN Object owner=MARS Object name=IDX_FBS_CD_FII_BI Cost=22 Cardinality=3602 Bytes=46826
TABLE ACCESS FULL Object owner=MARS Object name=FEED_INSTANCEThis part has the highest costs (this doesn't always mean it is slow). So this leads me to the WHERE clause where feed_group, feed_group_xref and feed_instance full are used. Maybe this can be improved, although the cardinality is not that high, so a full table can be the best. So the question is can indexes help here?
Furthermore there is the full table scan on POSITION:
TABLE ACCESS FULL Object owner=MARS Object name=POSITION Cost=13995 Cardinality=3854299 Bytes=150317661This looks also a large tabel (3 million + records), so is it possible to get this part smaller?

I Tunes crashes my computer each time I open it
I Tunes crashes my computer due to operation called Determining Gapless Playback. It gets to the same place and then stops everything so I can't use my computer unless I shutdown the computer by holding down the on/off button.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this and are able to help me?????
Thanks
LiamHi cannot open adobe file,
If I understand correctly, you can open the file one on computer (running Windows 8), but not on another? If so, what operating system (and version of Reader) are you using on that other computer?
Do you get an error when you try to open PDF files in Reader, or does Reader crash? Does the problem occur with just one PDF file, or with any that you try to open?
For starters, you may just want to reinstall Reader on the computer where you're having trouble.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,

I-tunes copying all files each time ipod is connected
These are my current settings for sync ( checked) :
Sync only checked songs and videos
Enable disk use
Now, each time I connect ipod, the disk is getting cleared and ipod again copies all the songs right from scratch. Just imagine this going on for 50 Gb+ data, each time I connect my ipod.
Am I doing anything wrong here?A reset won't delete data from the ipod.

A restore will completely blank everything. Since itune's copying everything over each time you sync, though, I assumed all your content was safe on the PC, so restoring (wiping the ipod clean to factory settings) wouldn't "lose" anything. -
When I sync my iPad with the latest I tunes my PC crashes every time
When I sync my iPad with the latest I tunes my PC crashes every time
On the devices menu, find the iPad and click the tab that says "TV Shows." Make sure that "Sync TV Shows" is checked and the TV programme that you're trying to sync is also checked. But uncheck "Automatically include _______ episodes of _______" so that you will be able to check individual episodes to sync.

Lost I tunes tracks after restore from time machine
Hi all
I have had to restore OS X using a backup from time machine for resons I wont go into.
The backup was only from a few days previous, all seemed well but when i went into itunes I had gone from nearly 8000 tracks to less than 3000.
Oh poo I thought, so I restored again using time machine, but this time I used a backup from only an hour before I did the first restore, but now I have lost even more of my tracks in Itunes.
And I do mean lost they are no longer listed in itunes
What the **** is going on?
And is there a way to get them backHi, and welcome to the forums.
First, are you running Leopard or Snow Leopard? Your settings at the bottom of your post say Snow Leopard, but this is the +Leopard > Time Machine+ forum, so I'm not sure which is right.
Did you do the full system restore, starting by booting from your OSX disc? If not, what exactly did you do?
Exactly what is wrong with Software Update? What happens, or doesn't happen? -

help with nano 7 on windows 8 welcome
Hey Brownalex,
I'd follow the steps in this article if your iPod nano doesn't appear in iTunes and also doesn't appear as a disk drive in My Computer:
iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows

Hope that helps,

Downloaded I-tunes 7.01 with Quick Time but...old IPOD
I got a prompt to download 7.01, so like a 'do be' I did. Thing is, I don't have video, and QuickTime said it could not run unless I had a 'key'. I logged back on, and the key is $30.00 approx...if it was only 5 dollars, maybe I'd get it. So I uninstalled Quicktime, and now Itunes won't run at all. How do I go back? I'm not even sure what the prior version of Itunes was.
I guess my other question is, why would I get prompted about a new version of Itunes when I have an older IPOD that does not have video?
thanks...So I uninstalled Quicktime, and now Itunes won't run at all. How do I go back?
okay, let's try getting a fresh QT back on the PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
reboot the PC. go to Add/Remove programs. select itunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
does your itunes run properly after the repair install of itunes?
