Turning a report row into a link

Hi All,
This topic was raised here and then but I haven't been able to find a thorough solution for it.
SCENARIO
- I have a report with a search text box which works nice and fine (eg. when you search for a word on the report it will mark it in red)
- I also enabled a highlight_row function on the report so that when you hover above it the row changes color.
DESIRED RESULT
What I would like to achieve is to make at least one column (called TASK_TITLE) into a link but I don't want to see each line undelined. I know this could be overcomed by setting HTML attribute to style="text-decoration: none" - BUT this also causes the search functionality to stop highlighting the searched words...
I have also tried to bite this from another perspective...
I have created a small javascript function (just to see if it was working - a popup alert) eg:
In Page Attributes:
<script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">
function test(){
alert('This is a test.');
</script>
Then in Report Template under 'Before Each Row' section I entered:
<tr #HIGHLIGHT_ROW# onMouseClick="test();" >
This however doesn't work at all... :(
Interestingly enough if I use OnMouseOver - the popup alert appears as soon as I hover over the FIRST (Column heading) row in the report...
Any ideas how to either:
1. Make my TASK_TITLE column a link without underlines BUT keeping search functionality with highligthed words?
or
2. Make the whole highligthed row into a link?
Many Thanks for any ideas!
Pawel.

Vikas, thanks for your prompt reply...
Just to explain:
The Main page (let it be nr 0) is called "Task List" - Here I have a report with all available tasks (one for each row). The report only shows some info plus TASK_TITLE...
Now I have another 2 pages:
1. "Edit/Create Task" - that's the page I want to go to when clicking on an Edit button
2. "View Task" - thats where I want to go to when clicking anywhere on the row.
The idea is that my current page (0 - "Task List") doesn't display a very large column called TASK_DESCRIPTION. When you view or edit a given task you should get a separate page which also displayes TASK_DESCRIPTION.. This is actually an html page. I hope that clarifies what my app is doing here...
I tried to view your example:
See http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:203
but I keep getting the following error:
ORA-01722: invalid number
Error ERR-1003 Error executing computation query.
OK
Anyway, things look better now but there is still a minor (I hope) issue... This is what I have:
My 'Task List' report is like this:
| TASK_ID | TASK_TITLE | TASK_DURATION | ... | ... | ... etc.
In my report attributes I did:
<input type="hidden" value="#TASK_ID#" />#TASK_TITLE#
Now, when I click anywhere on the line I do get the popup screen with TASK_ID but I ALSO get that when clicking on the Edit button (TASK_ID) column. Even though I get redirected correctly afterwards...
This means that if I change the script so that instead of a popup screen I will create a link, upon hitting the Edit Button (under TASK_ID) it will first process the "whole_row" script directing me to "View TASK" page instaed of "Edit/Modify" page.
How can I make sure that (let's stick to your example) the popup screen will appear on hitting anywhere on the row EXCEPT the edit column?
Just noticed: When you add the hidden input field - the highliht of words for search stops working... :(
Regards,
Pawel.

  • Turn long url list into active links

    I have a long list of complete internet addresses (URLs) and I want them all to be Hyperlinks but don't want to specify each one separately (It would take forever. Is there any way for Pages to turn these text URLs into links?

    Hello there, stockybobby.
    The following link to the Pages Help for Mac provides some great information regarding hyperlinks:
    Create links for websites and email addresses - Pages Help for Mac
    http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.2/#/tand51db403
    Create links for websites and email addresses
    Pages automatically detects website addresses (URLs) and email addresses you type and formats them as active links. You can edit these links or deactivate them so that they appear and behave as normal text.
    Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Select report row into another report

    I got 2 tables, DERESCE and DRRESERV
    DRRESC contains all the available Resources
    DRRESRV contains the reservation of a Resource per date.
    DRRESRV has 2 Foraign key's of the day and the Resource.
    The day PK is on another page item.
    Objective:
    To click on a link in the DERESCE report and load the resourcePK and dayPK into DRRESERV showing on a report or tabularform.
    So its almost like a submit, with one of the values on another page, one value being the PK of a report and the button a link in a report.
    Can this be done? And how?

    Then move your creation process from on submit to on load and make it conditional to fire only if you have a specific request in your link.

    Hey everyone,
    Im new to the forums and dreamweaver. I created an animated .gif file in photoshop that i want to use as an advertisement banner on a website. is JQ iweb compatible?
    jQuery is a very popular JavaScript library with which you can bring interactivity into web pages.  I know almost nothing about iWeb except that it is consumer level software for non-coders.  That said, if you can access the source code (HTML and CSS), you should be able to use jQuery plug-ins in your web pages.
    jQuery Cycle Plug-in (click on examples, view source in browser to see the code).

  • IR (interactive report) Rows found: 1 + No data found on deep linking

    I am using a deep linking to a page with interactive report on it with following URL: http://...../f?p=my_app_id:target_page::::target_page:param1, param2:param1_value, param2_value
    After login, I arrive on the page wit "No data found" message in the report region.
    Clicking on "Session" link, I see that app/page variables are set. Passing in debug mode, I see"Printing rows. Row window: 1-15. Rows found: 1" right before "No data found" message.
    If I use the select with values, I get several lines of result.
    has anyone fell on this problem and solved it?
    Igor

    OK, solved :o)))
    Inside the package function returning URL to call, I insert a row into the table to query and I return its sequence number. The function is launched by an application outside APEX.
    So, if I don't make commit immediately before returning URL, APEX sees nothing.
    I have added a commit before returning from the function and now everything is OK.

  • Need help with turning multiple rows into a single row

    Hello.
    I've come across a situation that is somewhat beyond my knowledge base. I could use a little help with figuring this out.
    My situation:
    I am attempting to do some reporting from a JIRA database. What I am doing is getting the dates and times for specific step points of a ticket. This is resulting in many rows per ticket. What I need to do is return one row per ticket with a calculation of time between each step. But one issue is that if a ticket is re-opened, I want to ignore all data beyond the first close date. Also, not all tickets are in a closed state. I am attaching code and a sample list of the results. If I am not quite clear, please ask for information and I will attempt to provide more. The database is 10.2.0.4

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!

    I am attaching code and a sample list of the results. If I am not quite clear, please ask for information and I will attempt to provide more. Whenever you have a question, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
    Simplify the problem as much as possible. For example, if the part you don't know how to do only involves 2 tables, then jsut post a question involving those 2 tables. So you might just post this much data:
    CREATE TABLE     changegroup
    (      issueid          NUMBER
    ,      created          DATE
    ,      id          NUMBER
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2008-07-16 09:30:38 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  10);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2008-07-16 11:37:02 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  20);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2010-06-08 09:14:52 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  90);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2010-09-02 11:29:37 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  10);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2010-09-02 11:29:42 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  10);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2010-09-02 11:29:50 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  20);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (21191,  TO_DATE ('2010-09-02 11:29:53 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  90);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (23234,  TO_DATE ('2008-10-03 10:26:21 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  10);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (23234,  TO_DATE ('2008-11-17 09:39:39 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  20);

    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (23977,  TO_DATE ('2010-05-29 04:47:37 PM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  30);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (23977,  TO_DATE ('2011-02-02 06:14:57 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  10);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (23977,  TO_DATE ('2011-02-02 06:15:32 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  20);
    INSERT INTO changegroup (issueid, created, id) VALUES (23977,  TO_DATE ('2011-02-02 06:15:47 AM', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI:SS AM'),  90);
    CREATE TABLE     changeitem
    (      groupid          NUMBER
    ,      newstring     VARCHAR2 (10)
    INSERT INTO changeitem (groupid, newstring) VALUES (10, 'Open');
    INSERT INTO changeitem (groupid, newstring) VALUES (20, 'Testing');
    INSERT INTO changeitem (groupid, newstring) VALUES (30, 'Blocked');
    INSERT INTO changeitem (groupid, newstring) VALUES (90, 'Closed');Then post the results you want to get from that data, like this:
    ISSUEID HISTORY
      21191 Open (0) >> Testing (692) >> Closed
      23234 Open (45) >> Testing (807) >> Closed
      23977 Open (607) >> Blocked (249) >> Open (0) >> Testing (0) >> ClosedExplain how you get those results from that data. For example:
    "The output contains one row per issueid. The HISTORY coloumn shows the different states that the issue went through, in order by created, starting with the earliest one and continuing up until the first 'Closed' state, if there is one. Take the first row, issueid=21191, for example. It started as 'Open' on July 16, 2008, then, on the same day (that is, 0 days later) changed to 'Testing', and then, on June 8, 2010, (692 days later), it became 'Closed'. That same issue opened again later, on September 2, 2010, but I don't want to see any activity after the first 'Closed'."
    The database is 10.2.0.4That's very important. Always post your version, like you did.
    Here's one way to get those results from that data:

    I hope this answers your question, but I guessed at so many things, I won't be surprised if it doesn't. If that's the case, point out where this is wrong, post what the results should be in those places, and explain how you get those results. Post new data, if necessary.

  • Custom report row template

    Few questions when using a custom report row template. Followup to the discussion Report Row Template: Column condition
    1. The row template allows full control how the entire row is rendered. I can see this being used when the report query returns a single row and we need to format it in a very specific way. But when the query returns multiple rows, how is the specified Row Template used? i.e the first row is "consumed" and rendered as per the template. If the same process is repeated for subsequent rows, how can we control whether successive rows are rendered across the page (left to right) or down the page (top to bottom)?
    2. When a custom row template is used to render a tabular form, the hidden columns (marked Edit=Y, Show=N on Report Attributes) are present in the markup even when they are not specified in the row template! i.e. the MRU process works. Of course, this is a good thing but I was curious to know what exactly controls this, what part of the report template controls where the hidden form elements are placed?
    3. Any number/date formatting specified declaratively on the Column Attributes page appears to be taken into account when column values are substituted in the template using #COL# notation. But all the other Column Attributes are ignored (alignment, sum, show, link, etc). Is there a way to use the Link attribute to declaratively specify the link so the value of the column #COL# as seen by the report template includes the A tag?

  • Report row highlight based on a page item

    Is there a way to highlight a report row based on the value of a page item?
    In my case I have a report where the application user requests data in a detail report using a column link in the master report. This loads an id number from my report into a page item (say :P8_ID for example). If this item is null, I want the report rows to all render normally (nothing is selected or the detail report has been closed). If there is an id in that field then I want the row containing the information about that item to highlight (its column link has been clicked selected it to bring up a detail report).
    At first glance, this looks similar to Vikas solution (Change the Report row color when clicked but I am trying to make the connection between what has already been done and where I need to be.

    After looking back, I discovered my value was being set after the report rendered. When I re-organized my calculations and the rest, it worked.

  • Interactive report conditional display of link column - apex 4

    I create an interactive report

            then 'block'
            else 'none'
           end  display_link
    from user_objects
    where rownum <= 10in the Link Column for the report I selected one of the edit icons and put the following in the link attributes
    style="display:#DISPLAY_LINK#"I also edited the object_id and set the Column Link and selected an edit icon and put the same style in the link attributes.
    The link under the column displays correctly but the link for the report does not seem to substitute the #DISPLAY_LINK# from the report. Any Ideas?

    Here's how I've done this:
    SELECT ORG_ID,
           CLEARER_NAME,
           LEGAL_NAME,
           MARGINING_ACCOUNT,
           RULE_GROUP_DESCR,

           VIOLATION_LEVEL,
           CASE MARGIN_IND
            WHEN 'Y' THEN '&nbsp'
            ELSE '<a href="#" title="Ignore This Alert"><img src="/i/ice/images/hide.png" alt="Ignore"></a>'
           END AS IGNORE_LINK,
           ....This takes care of either showing (or not showing) the link.
    IN order to process when it is present, not that the address is "#" This will cause your cursor to change to a hand (or whatever your pointer is) when the mouse floats over the link. The actual transfer to the next page, I handle with jQuery/JavaScript.
    Create a Dynamic Action.
    Event: Click
    Selector Type: jQuery Selector
    jQuery Selector: 'aalt'
    Event Scope: Live
    (note that the jQuery Selector is finding the alt attribute that I set on my link in the SELECT above . Tweak as needed.
    This "Action" for this DA will be to "execute JavaScript code"
    Normally, I would set some values into Page Items and then create a branch to pass this values to the next page. I am doing the same thing in the following code. I am getting the values off of the row wherein the user clicked on the link. I am setting these values from the row into the page item values. Then, I am submitting the page. All the "htmldb_Get" business is just stuff that I have to do to get the page item values into the session (so that I can pass them to the next page).
    var clickedRow = this.triggeringElement.parentNode.parentNode.parentNode;
    var ruleGroupDescr = $(clickedRow).children('td[headers="RULE_GROUP_DESCR"]').html();
    var ajaxRequest = new htmldb_Get(null, $x('pFlowId').value, null, 0);
    gReturn = ajaxRequest.get();
    $s('P31_RULE_GROUP_DESCR', ruleGroupDescr );
    ajaxRequest = null;
    var clearerName = $(clickedRow).children('td[headers="CLEARER_NAME"]').html();
    var ajaxRequest = new htmldb_Get(null, $x('pFlowId').value, null, 0);
    gReturn = ajaxRequest.get();
    $s('P31_CLEARER_NAME', clearerName );
    ajaxRequest = null;
    apex.submit("IGNORE");Finally, just create a branch to the next page and set the items on the next page to the ones on this page that are being set in the above script. Note that in my example, I have set the request to "Ignore" when I submitted; so, I set the condition of my branch to be Request = IGNORE.
    Hope this helps,

  • Styling report rows using the query result

    Hello, is it possible to style a row in a report using the values returned by the underlying sql query?
    For example, if my query returns a column called ROW_CLASS I would like to use the placeholder #ROW_CLASS# to style the row, e.g. specifying the row class.
    Apparently such row attributes are not available to the apex developer. For each single column value I can set the "Tabular Form Attributes" and "Column Formatting", but I cannot set anything on the whole row.
    In other words I can style the TDs but not the TRs.
    I think this is clearly a "missing feature" that should be there, single the APEX engine that turns the query result into the HTML that displays the table can already access the column values via their placeholders. It would be sufficient to add some "row attributes" or "row class" field in the report.
    It could be used for lots of useful things, in my particular case, highlighting rows that contain errors.
    Also there is no way to perform that operation in CSS (e.g. get the TRs which contain at least one TD of class "ROWERROR"). I know it could be done in JS, but that's very messy for such a simple declarative problem.

  • How to load Matrix report data into basic table data using ODI

    Hi,
    How to load Matrix report data into basic table data using oracle Data Integrator ?
    Requirement Description:
    Following is the matrix report data:
    JOB                       DEPT10                DEPT20
    ANALYST                                           6000
    CLERK                   1300                     1900 Need to convert it into below format:
    JOB                             Dept                        Salary
    ANALYST                  DEPT10
    ANALYST                  DEPT20                     6000
    CLERK                       DEPT10                    1300
    CLERK                       DEPT20                    1900
        Thanks for your help in advance. Let me know if any further explanation is required.

    Your list seems to be a little restrictive, you can do a lot more with ODI procedures.
    If you create new procedure, and add a step. In the 'command on source' tab set you technology and schema as per your source database. Use the unpivot functionality as described in the link, please, rather than using 'SELECT *' use the appropriate column names and alias them for eg:
    SELECT job as job,
    deptsal as deptsal,
    saldesc as saledesc
    FROM pivoted_data
    UNPIVOT (
    deptsal --<-- unpivot_clause
    FOR saldesc --<-- unpivot_for_clause
    IN (d10_sal, d20_sal, d30_sal, d40_sal) --<-- unpivot_in_clause
    Then in your 'command on target' tab set the technology and schema to your target db, then put your INSERT statement for eg:
    INSERT INTO job_sales
    (job,
    deptsal,
    saledesc
    VALUES
    :job,
    :deptsal,
    :saledesc
    Therefore you are using bind variables from source to load data into target.
    Obviously if the source and target table are in the same database, then you can have it all in one statement in the 'command on target' as
    INSERT INTO job_sales
    (job,
    deptsal,
    saledesc
    SELECT job as job,
    deptsal as deptsal,
    saldesc as saledesc
    FROM pivoted_data
    UNPIVOT (
    deptsal --<-- unpivot_clause
    FOR saldesc --<-- unpivot_for_clause
    IN (d10_sal, d20_sal, d30_sal, d40_sal) --<-- unpivot_in_clause
    also set the log counter as 'Insert' on the tab where your INSERT statement is, so you know how many rows you insert into the table.
    Hope this helps.
    BUT remember that this feature only came out in Oracle 11g.

  • Loading complex report data into a direct update DSO using APD

    Dear All,
    Recently, I had a requirement to download the report data into a direct update DSO using an APD. I was able to perform this easily when the report was simple i.e it has few rows and columns. But I faced problems If the report is a complex one. Summing up, I would like to know how to handle the scenarios in each of the following cases:
    1.   How should I decide the key fields and data fields of the direct update DSO ? Is it that the elements in ROWS will go to the
          key fields of DSO and the remaining to the data fields? Correct me.
    2.   What if the report contains the Restricted KFs and Calculated KFs? Do I have to create separate infoobjects in the BI
          system and then include these in the DSO data fields to accommodate the extracted data ?
    3.   How do I handle the Free Characteristics and Filters ?
    4.  Moreover, I observed that if the report contains selection screen variables, then I need to create variants in the report and
         use that variant in the APD. So, if I have 10 sets of users executing the same report with different selection conditions, then
         shall I need to create 10 different variants and pass those into 10 different APDs, all created for the same report ?
    I would appreciate if someone can answer my questions clearly.
    Regards,
    D. Srinivas Rao

    Hi ,
    PFB the answers.
    1. How should I decide the key fields and data fields of the direct update DSO ? Is it that the elements in ROWS will go to the
    key fields of DSO and the remaining to the data fields? Correct me.
    --- Yes , you can use the elements in the ROWS in the Key fields,  but in case you get two records with same value in the ROWS element the data load will fail. So you basically need to have one value that would be different for each record.
    2. What if the report contains the Restricted KFs and Calculated KFs? Do I have to create separate infoobjects in the BI
    system and then include these in the DSO data fields to accommodate the extracted data ?
    Yes you would need to create new Infoobjects for the CKF's and RKF's in the Report and include them in your DSO.
    3. How do I handle the Free Characteristics and Filters ?
    The default filters work in the same way as when you yourself execute the reoprt. But you cannot use the Free characterisitics in the APD. only the ROWS and cloumns element which are in default layout can be used.
    --- Yes you would need to create 10 different APD's. Its very simple to create, you can copy an APD. but it would be for sure a maintance issue. you would have to maintain 10 APD's.
    Please revert in case of any further queries.

  • Report Row With Detail (IFRAME)

    Hi,
    I am trying to implement the Report Row with Detail but not successful.
    I have gone thru the various threads in the forum.. but i am unable to
    get it. It would be great if I could know the step by step process to do the same.
    I have created two regions. The first region (the query to it) also
    has a show_region link.. I have copied and pasted the javascript given
    by Carl.
    Thanks,
    shilpa.

    Hello,
    Ok then you are almost there so when you submit the form to update your data on a sucessful save you are going to create a plsql region that just uses htp.p() to write out the javascript to update the report in the main page.
    a simple example would be something like this.
    Lets say I'm getting back values to update the two first table cells on my parent report.
    <script>
    /*set up call back function*/
    function ReportRowUpdate(){
    var lRow = parent.g_LastRowOpened; /* hook to last row clicked */
    lRow.cells[0].innerHTML = 'SOME VALUE FROM DATABASE 1';
    lRow.cells[1].innerHTML = 'SOME VALUE FROM DATABASE 2';
    /*call call back function*/
    ReportRowUpdate();
    </script>
    And that should be it.

    At present i am trying with SAP provided display customer functionality.That link is fetching me SAP Netweaver website instead of CRM BP transaction.
    Pls advise as how i can i achieve this.
    Thanks.

    Hi -
    Changes to be done in Z_QUINNOX_PAYMENT_SUMMARY
    methods:
    1. GET_ACTION_DEFINITION
      class cl_crm_ic_abox_constants definition load.
      concatenate cl_crm_ic_abox_constants=>bor_action
                  'REPORT'  "#EC NO_TEXT
                  'EXECUTE'  "#EC NO_TEXT
                  'CRMSYS'  "#EC NO_TEXT
             into rv_result.
    2. CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR
      class cl_crm_ic_abox_constants definition load.
      gv_atype =
        cl_crm_ic_abox_constants=>bor_action.
      gv_method  =
        'EXECUTE'. "#EC NOTEXT
      gv_bortype =
        'REPORT'. "#EC NOTEXT
      gv_mappedlogsys =
       'CRMSYS'.  " 'R3SYS46C'. "#EC NOTEXT
      gv_version =
        '2.0'. "#EC NOTEXT
    Is return data flow requested?
      gv_is_return_df_requested =
        'X'. "#EC NOTEXT
    similarly set the BOR obj name et all in the CONSTRUCTOR also....check the class 'CL_CRM_IC_ABOXSAMPLE_CREATESO' and make the changes accordingly.....you can ignore the t.code parameters which they have passed, jus add the relavant BOR obj details and the log sys details in the relavant places....
    Now in ur BOR obj method 'EXECUTE', call the report using the SUBMIT prog stmt.....
    This shd work.....
