Turning On Diagnostics eats up transactions ( MACommand.xml ) - a serious issue !!!

We were just trying out the Azure Storage Analytics Service, and something very unusual caught our attention.
The transaction count for the diagnostics storage account ( the account to which the Diagnostics Service writes it's data) was extremely high. We are talking about
600~ transaction per hour, all of which are GetBlob() operations, and all of them ended with error ( ClientOtherError is equal to the total number of operations ).
Further investigation revealed that each instance running which has
Diagnostics turned on, produces 300~ transactions per hour
( we has 2 instances, thus the 600). Continuing the investigation, looking at the $logs that the Analytics Service is producing revealed what really going on :
The log is filled with lots of calls to an xml file that's not exists. The log file itself is very cluttered  but it's very clear that most of the calls are searching for
https://*****.blob.core.windows.net/mam/MACommand.xml  and also /mam/MACommandb.xml
and /mam/MACommandb.xml
all those calls have an error of 404.
This issue is a real problem for us, and we have no idea what causing it.
Has anyone encountered this issue ?
(edit: Forgot to mention, the Diagnostics Service is not logging anything - scheduledTransferPeriod is zero for all the categories)
(edit: here is some part of the log file, sensitive information is replaced with ****

(edit: The issue happens regardless of the role type WebRole/WorkerRole)

After a week trying to figure this out, with the help of
Farida Bharmal from the azure support team, we managed solve the issue. Those calls are an expected behavior,
and happens from SDK 1.6.
Taken from a response Farida got from the product team :
"I also got a response from
the product team. There is a change in the SDK 1.6. These calls are expected. There are about 20 calls per 5 minutes for every role instance. Which means that there will be 6000 calls a day. This will cost around a penny every day for every role instance.
(Storage Transactions = $0.01 per 10,000 transactions)"
The product team also said that they looking into optimizing this behavior.

  • Transaction-850.xml in B2B_IN_QUEUE has non http namespaces

    Hi Ramesh,
    When we are generating a Transaction-850 XML from B2B server ( it is writing to IP_IN_QUEUE) we are finding that it is generating the following XML. Now it is becoming impossible to transform this XML into an OAG XML because the namespace xmlns="NS_2064A875A1D948009896D9D4C4A112DF" in the XML.
    Could you please advise about how we can make B2B server to generate an XML without this namespace.
    Thanks in advance.

  • XML Document parsing issue

    Hello I am doing some SOAP XML stuff and I am having an issue that hopefully I can get some help with.
    Is XML like this valid to do in a SOAP message?
    <prompt>1 &_lt_; 0? <prompt>It's suppose to represent "1 < 0?"
    * the forum formatter seems to eat up my encoded text and transofrms it into acutal "<" so I am placing underscores "_" everywhere to keep the text. so above is actually without underscores
    From what I've read I think it is. I have text like this transported as part of the overall SOAP message to my client from the server.
    In my code I do:
    // Create an instance of the DocumentBuilderFactory
    DocumentBuilderFactory documentFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    // Get the DocumentBuilder from the factory
    DocumentBuilder builder = documentFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document doc = builder.parse(inputStream);
    ...inputStream is an InputStream (specifically ByteArrayInputStream) containing the XML.
    The issue I am having is that wherever I have an '&' (such as "&_lt_;" or "&_gt_;" or "&" etc...) the parsing seems to get cut off and the rest of the string doesn't seem to get parsed. So the above string "1 &_lt_; 0?" ends up being "1 ".
    Also is there an easy way to get back or rebuild the XML into a string from a Document object? I would really like to do that right after I do the parse method and see if the XML data that the Document object has is the same as what's in the inputStream (which is "1 &_lt_; 0?").
    Any input you can provide is much appreciated. Thanks,

    Oh no, Robinbird18! This is not what we like to hear about your cell phone. It makes it pretty hard to have a conversation with someone when you can't hear them. If you make a phone call out are you able to have a conversation with someone without any issues? How long has this been going on? Have you tried to use the phone on speaker phone to see if that works at all? The worklist/notification component is defined on several places, where the "lowest" definition applies for the action being triggered.
    1 AWE Transaction Configuration> Transaction Registry > Default Approval Component
    2 AWE Transaction Configuration > Event
    3 AWE Transaction Configuration > Event > Notification > Template Detail tab
    Be aware that the Notification section in the Transaction Configuration shows 1 row in the grid, where more than 1 row can be defined. Click on the View all to expand the grid and see all notification defined for this event.
    See if above configurations differ in menu, component, page ...

    Hakan

  • EHP4 - Stack XML file related issue

    Hi,
    I have the following two issues from DSWP tcode (or solution_manager):
    1. From DSWP code -> Change Management -> Maintenance Optimizer, New
    Maintenance Transaction and i select the ERP system , then i select the radio button Enhancement Package Installation after which it is showing a drop down from where i can
    select EHP4 installation and second drop down i can select support
    stack 03. But if i do the same thing again by coming out and going back
    in on the same day it is showing only support stack 01, Next day again
    for one time it is showing.. --- Why is it like this ?
    2. Also after selecting the EHP4 version, support stack 03 it log's on
    to the ERP system and it comes out with lot of components from
    which if i select some of them and deselect some of them as per our
    need, it continues to next screen and confirms the file from download
    manager and also the XML file gets's created but unfortunately the XML
    file contains all components including the one we deselect because of
    which we ended up in doing all shown components last week. We
    are in a stage of applying another technical usage and the xml is
    created with all the components again. Any idea how to avoid this ?
    Thanks,
    Murali.

    Hi,
    The problem might be configuration of your system in SMSY transaction ...Because if some componenets you have selected there will come as selected by default...
    Moreover go to SAP Note 1134872 - Maintenance Optimizer: FAQ for Stack Delta Files and related sap note to this note which contains problems related to MOPZ and stack xml file..
    Thanks

  • XML Character Escaping Issue

    Hello all,
    At my current project we are interfacing between SAP and PeopleSoft.
    The target system peoplesoft expects an xml exactly formed as follows.
    So within the CDATA area "<" and ">" are expected. NOT "&lt ;" and "&gt ;" AND NOT  "&#60 ;" and "&#62 ;"
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <IBRequest>
         <ContentSections>
              <ContentSection>
                   <Data>
    <![CDATA <?xml version="1.0"?><SNS_UPDATE_DEB><MsgData><Transaction>

                                                    </Data>
              </ContentSection>
         </ContentSections>
    </IBRequest>
    However the sending system does send the "<" and ">" within the CDATA are in 'escaped mode'.
    Like below.

         </ContentSections>
    </IBRequest>
    Trying an XSLT with: disable-output-escaping="yes" gave no results. Furthermore a UDF with a FindAndReplace function also doesn't work.
    Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem?

    Hi Ramon,
    I assume that the UDF is no help because XI escapes the XML after it's passed through the mapping again. Have you tried a Module in the adapter engine that reverts the escaping right at the end of processing? This at least should make sure that no further modifications are done by anybody afterwards.
    On the other hand, this is technically more challenging and a bit harder to monitor.
    What adapter are you using to commnunicate with your target system?
    regards,
    Peter

  • XML Publisher Report Issues

    Hi,
    We have customized a report (XML Publisher) in which our template is in XSL format.When using this stylesheet (.XSL) to print out PO's, there are some problems with the page layout, more specifically regarding the page breaks:
    1) Extra empty page is printed - can this be avoided?
    2) If the entire line block does not fit on the page, the line should be completely shifted to the next page (called "widow and orfan control" in MS Word) ?
    How to avoid these issues? Replies will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    What is the symptom of the issue you encountered? The report shows there's a "known incompatibility with the hardware" and all "USB Suspend:USB Device not Entering Suspend" errors are caused by the prevention of Power Management (which is disabled due to
    hardware issue) so have you made any hardware change rencently?
    You can also manually check the Power Management setting, control panel\power options\chang plan settings\change advanced power settings, scroll down to PCI Express (check if you can set it to "Moderate Power Savings") and Process Power Management(should be
    active).
