  • How to change the log file path in BEA tuxedo 6.5 client in Windows xp

    Hi,
I am using BEA Tuxedo 6.5 client in windows xp.
The log files are created in C:
Kindly help me in changing the log file path and also i want to know where these configurations are set.
    Advance thanks !!!
    Regards
    Bunsim

    Hi Bunsim,
ULOGPFX is an environment variable. Your client executable can set an environment variable as part of a startup script,
it can be included in a file used by the client that is defined with WSENVFILE environment variable, it can be read in
a file by the client executable after startup using the tuxreadenv() API, it can be set by the client using the tuxputenv() API,
the profile for the user executing the client can have an environment variable defined, or the windows registry can include
a definition for the environment variable(there is also an BEA applet on Windows for administration but I think not on client only installs).
WSNADDR is an environment variable that defines the address of the workstation listener that the client will connect to.
Look for where your client defines WSNADDR and add, or modify, the ULOGPFX definition to meet your needs.

  • Tuxedo and VB Client

We are working with a company which is using BEA Tuxedo Version/Release 6.4. We
wish to be able to interface to the Tuxedo Workstation software using Microsoft
Visual Basic (Version 6). Is this possible?
I have read the BEA Tutorial on this matter, but the implication is that Tuxedo
Release 6.5 or 7.1 is necessary. I know that several people here have implemented
VB/Tuxedo interfaces and I'm now seeking confirmation of the version compatibilities.
Thanks in anticipation - Brian Garner

    Wayne,
sorry for the delay in replying. I have been away over Easter.
Anyway, to answer your questions: -
The Tutorial title is BEA TUXEDO Visual Basic Client Tutorial
and it can be found at
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/resourcelibrary/technicalguides/vbtuxedoclient.jsp
Within the zipped documentation, there is a document 'TuxVBClient.pdf', and
in the Assumptions section of Chapter 1 'About This Tutorial' it states: -
We also assume that the readers' workstations have the following:
    1. BEA TUXEDO Release 6.5 or 7.1
    2. The bankapp application, from the BEA TUXEDO Application Development
Guide for BEA TUXEDO Release 6.5 or 7.1, running properly
    3. Microsoft Visual Basic Version 6.0 Development Environment installed and
    running properly
So, as you can see, the implication is that Tuxedo 6.4 is inadequate for
developing a Visual Basic BEA Tuxedo client.
I hope this extra info clarifies matters.
    Regards - Brian
P.S. Alternatively, the Tutorial can be downloaded directly from
    ftp://edownload:[email protected]/pub/downloads/TuxVBClient20010312Final

  • Whether Tuxedo 8.1 client can run on SGI IRIX 6.5?

    Thank you!

There were many new features introduced between Tuxedo 6.5 and Tuxedo 8.1.
To see what new features were added in Tuxedo 7.1, 8.0, and 8.1, please
refer to the following documentation links:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux81/interm/whatsnew.htm
    http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux80/interm/whatsnew.htm
    http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux71/interm/whatsnew.htm
Some of the big features added were multicontexting and multithreading,
embedded FML, CORBA support, and security enhancements. (R6.5 contained a
significant number of security features, but R7.1 added even more.) It
would be best to look at the links above, since there may be one or more
smaller new features added between these releases that is important to you.

  • Tuxedo 7.1 JNI client

Has anyone been able to use JNI in a Tuxedo 7.1 client?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
I had conceptualizing about a JNI Wrapper to Tuxedo ATMI calls so as to facilitate
Java-Tuxedo interaction. But somehow could not devote time to pursue the same.
BEA Jolt provides a Java interface to the Tuxedo world. Also try the WTC (Weblogic

Has anyone built a tuxedo c++ client?

    Dear Andy,
I tried to run the example at location D:\bea8\weblogic81\samples\server\examples\src\examples\iiop\ejb\stateless\tuxclient, building with the Visual Studio 2003 compiler.
The call of orb = CORBA::ORB_init(argc, argv) with parameter argv containing "-ORBid BEA_IIOP -ORBInitRef NameService=corbaloc:iiop:localhost:7001/NameService" leads to following CORBA-Exception:
    IDL.omg.org/CORBA/INITIALIZE:1.0
Only using "-ORBInitRef NameService=corbaloc:iiop:localhost:7001/NameService" leads to following CORBA-Exception
    IDL.omg.org/CORBA/PERSIST_STORE:1.0
Using ORBACUS seems to run better, perhaps you have an idea, how to use the Tuxedo-ORB to connect to your application-server.
Can you tell me, how to get the latest rolling patch for Tuxedo 8.1.

    Hi,
We bought some SDK and RTK tuxedo8.0 licenses. For RTK we have 64 USERS. SDK

the SDK license and if we are running only one instance of Tuxedo and mutilple

Tuxedo Connector will 5 users is enough. Can you please explain me in detail what
    the 5 users mean.

You are correct. I think that's the mistake i made. I did not realize that the licenses as by category. Professional/CRM/Logistics etc. Can you please advice what should i do in the following situation.
The mistake i think i had was when it asked me for # of user i just typed 1 thinking i will go back and get the second one. So i requested the second one for same hardware key/install#, environment, etc. and the same type of license (Professional). It did create the license Key but did not get installed thru service manager. Is there a way to fix it ? or i will have to delete the license and reorder 2 together for my Test Environment ?
Secondly I have bought 9 Professional user Licenses. I want to use 2 for my Test environment and 6 for my production and then later move the 2  from test to production. What is the best way to do it ?
Thanks again for your kind response.

  • 1023 WARN: No client context space available in handler

    Hi Users,
I'm getting below tuxedo warning in ULOG:
"1023 WARN: No client context space available in handler"
I did google for above error and got below results from one of oracle documentation website for Tuxedo:
    " Description
While setting up a connection for a new workstation client, the WSH ran out of room to keep context for clients.
    Action
This error should occur rarely since the WSL transfers control of workstation client connections to WSH programs based on their current degree of multiplexing. Contact BEA Customer Support. "
Does anyone had any clue to rectify this issue.
    Regards
    Fakhruddin.

    Hi Todd,
    WSL SRVGRP=CLIENT SRVID=200

    #CLOPT=" -t -- -n //<hostname>:<hostport> -x 10"

    RESTART=Y MAXGEN=5
    SEQUENCE=100
Note: This is the same WSL config posted in last replies. Again posted just for quick reference.
As per the above configuration for WSL, the first WSL configuration supporting unlimted or any number of user session at a time, so this WSL hopefully wont give me any error. The second WSL has only one port so it can support at most 10 session at any given time and the third one has 4 ports so max session suported is 200 at any given time. Second WSL configuration is enough to support that many session but still the error is coming from this WSL only. Third WSL configuration is fine because at any given not more than 120 - 130 sessions are active.
So the error is basically coming from second WSL. Will increasing the multiplexing factor from 10 (by default) to 50 really help us? Is there any other factor which could results in this type of errors? Kindly suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Fakhruddin.

In my Tuxedo server i get the meesage error: A workstation client does not

  • Strange, I think - Tuxedo 6.5 message queues have different owner, creator

    All -
I realize that version 6.5 is ancient software now, but it's what we're running. I'm also a very inexperienced Tuxedo user, but I have worked with Unix and databases for many years now.
We have the occasional LIBTUX_CAT:476 (lost message)
    and LIBTUX_CAT:477 (server died)
errors now, and they've been occurring every few minutes
since last Thursday for no apparent reason. These errors
in the ULOG are accompanied by a restart of the dead
server. Our users, however, complain of massive waits in
their applications, and we can't go on like this in our
    production system.
Checking the tuxedo message queues, we see a few lines
like this when doing "ipcs -qa":
T ID KEY MODE OWNER GROUP CREATOR CGROUP <snip>
    q 134853 0 --rw-rw-rw- tuxedo  admin  oraGCMN      dba    <snip>
I've edited this slightly to eliminate confusion.
My concern is that the OWNER and CREATOR values are different. I've never seen that before. The STIME
and RTIME values for these errant queues (not shown above)
correspond to the "server died" entries in the ULOG, and
    this is surely not coincidental.
The queues should be owned and created by the "tuxedo"
user, I think. Our oraGCMN user is an Oracle user
that owns the application server and makes a user-defined
exit to the Tuxedo application. Frankly, I don't see
how this OS user could possibly ever create a tuxedo
    queue.
Do you have any suggestions on how I should proceed?

You may want to compare the IDs of these queues against the IDs of all
Tuxedo server and client queues to see if these are Tuxedo queues or if they
are queues used by Oracle or some other application. You can get the IDs of
all Tuxedo queues using the command
    tmadmin <<!
    verbose
    psr
    pclt
(It is also possible to get the same information using the MIB if you plan
on doing this frequently and need to parse the output programatically.)

  • Ways to Configure Which UNIX Server a PC Client Application Communicates With

We have several different MS VC++ "fat client" applications that we want to run
on the same NT 4.0 PC.
Each application uses the Tuxedo 7.1 client to communicate with Tuxedo services
    located on a UNIX server.
Each application needs to communicate with a different UNIX server (e.g., application
    A1 needs Tuxedo
service T1 located on UNIX server S1, application A2 needs Tuxedo service T2 located
    on UNIX server
S2). We'd like to load the Tuxedo 7.1 client software in such a way that each
    individual application
controls which server it uses. One way to do that is through registry entries
    specific to each application.
We are looking for some documentation or tips on other/better ways to configure
    which server the PC
application communicates with. We are also looking for some documentation or
    tips on how to best
configure an application that needs to subscribe to services from several different
    servers (e.g.,
application A needs Tuxedo service T1 on server S1 and Tuxedo service T2 on server
    S2). Thanks.

    Matt,
This sounds quite unusual, and I am not sure why you want to do things this way.
Generally, I would expect that the services would be distributed on the server side over
different boxes as you describe, but the location would be transparent to a client app.
which would tpinit once, and Tuxedo would route the requests appropriately. Maybe that's
not how you want to do things because the apps are all logically independent? I'm not
sure about that though, since you describe needing services on different servers in
individual clients... Can you do the integration at the back end?
To do what you describe, however, you need to control the value of the WSNADDR
environment variable before you call tpinit() - it is the network address in this
variable that tells the client libraries which server to connect to. Simply set the
value (from a command line parameter, the registry, an ini file or wherever) with the
tuxputenv() API before you call tpinit()
In Tuxedo 7.1 and higher, it is also possible to connect to multiple different servers
simultaneousy by calling tpinit multiple times and having multiple contexts in the
    client.
    I hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Peter.
