TV problems (resolution)

okay  so ive got this flat panel tv thats connected to my pc by VGA     the system says its 'unknown' and wont enable the 1360x768 resolution on it   and when i try to xrandr it  the tv says sync out of bounds     it was working until i reduced the resolution to 1024x768  and then the option for 1366x768 just completely went away
xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1024 x 768, maximum 32767 x 32767

  • Xf86-video-intel problems (resolution, DRI) [SOLVED]

I updated to day the xf86-video-i810 to the new *-intel driver and I encountered 2 problems. I have an old 845G card and an old CRT monitor that I use at 1024x786.
    Problem 1: Incorrect resolution
The new native modesettings automatically reads the DCC from your monitor for the different modes and ignores your xorg.conf settings. So I ended up with a 1360x768 resolution and couldn't change it. The solution is to edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file adding the following:
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "My Monitor"
    HorizSync 30-70
    VertRefresh 50-120
    Option "DPMS"
    Modeline "1024x768" 86.18 1024 1088 1200 1376 768 769 772 803 -HSync +Vsync
    Option "PreferredMode" "1024x768"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "** Intel i810 (generic) [i810]"
    Driver "intel"
    Option "Monitor-VGA" "My Monitor"
    EndSection
Note that the two important lines I added were the Option "PreferredMode" "1024x768" to the "Monitor" section and the Option "Monitor-VGA" "My Monitor" to the "Device" section. If you're using a laptop you might need to use "Monitor-LVDS" instead of VGA, and if you're using DVI I'm not sure, but you can check your /var/log/Xorg.0.log to find how's your video output called.
This way I forced the driver to use my settings.
    Problem 2: no DRI
I also had no DRI after the upgrade (you can check it with the command "glxinfo | grep rendering"). Looking at /var/log/Xorg.0.log I found that it complained of not having enough memory for enabling it, and in the previous lines it said it was allocating something like 6000 lines for pixmap chache, so I thought that was the problem. I added an Option "CacheLines" "768" to the device section and with that it left enough memory for DRI (note that 768 is my resolution height (1024x768).
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "** Intel i810 (generic) [i810]"
    Driver "intel"
    Option "Monitor-VGA" "My Monitor"
    Option "CacheLines" "768"
    EndSection
Now everything works fine (Xv video, DRI). Performance is even a bit better when using Beryl or GoogleEarth (get a bit more fps in glxgears), and I didn't find any instability so far.
    EDIT:
Another thing: Changing resolution crashed the server. This got solved by using the xorg-server-1.3 that supports xrandr. Now all works good, except that the KDE utility to change resolution has no effect. But it can be changed with the command "xrandr -s 1280x1024 -r 60" where -s is the size and -r the refresh rate.

OK - I finally submitted a bug report upstream: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76514
In making the bug report, I realized that I'm using some relevant packages from AUR, one of which was flagged out of date half a year ago: intel-dri-git. I'm going to see what happens when I switch from intel-dri-git and libdrm-git back to simply intel-dri and libdrm.

  • Problem resolution video

    hi
I would like to solve this problem permanently.
I got pictures taken with Panasonic DVCProHD and other images taken with Canon 5D MarkIII.
I placed on a timeline in premiere, the timeline that I created in DVCPROHD 1080i 25, because the main immaigni are taken with this system. When I export the video and choose quicktime apple proress. I open Encore to create a DVD standar definition Pal, I burn, but these images are very jagged. I understand that the resolution of HD and SD is remarkable, but there is a way to improve it? Maybe use a codec wrong? The images of the Canon risukltano more jagged the panasonic, maybe it's the fault of the pixel size?
    Thank You

When exporting the MPEG-2 DVD file from an HD timeline in Premiere, check the export box that says "Maximum Render Quality" - this will improve the HD to SD conversion quality.
Also, the bitrate will be dependent on the length of the program you are exporting. While "9" might be "DVD legal", it is the highest setting and some players do not like very high bitrates on burned media. You may wish to use "8" as a maximum instead, for up to one hour of program. For longer programs, you may need to adjust the rate downward to fit the video on the DVD disc. Use a bitrate calculator to figure that out - DVD-HQ : Bitrate & GOP calculator
Or search online for "Bitrate calculator" and there are many other options. Nothing to download/install, they work in the browser.
Or a quick method is 560/minutes = bitrate, maybe round result down a little bit for safety margin.
    Thanks

  • Creative Webcam Pro Problem - Resolution.

Hi. I've recently dug up my old Webcam Pro and encountered out the following problem when using it:
All data sources indicate that it is capable of capturing video at 640x480/5fps, but this one captures it at a much lower resolution, probably 320x240 or 352x288. In the Creative Blaster control webcam monitor the maximum setting is 352x288 and I couldn't finf any more placed with the settings for the camera.
My question is - how to set it up to use the VGA resolution?
    cya
    Raziel-chan

Umm... Problem solved - I downloaded the webcam center. Couldn't it be available to Webcam Pro as well on the download site? Webcam pro isn't even there, but it works with it.
Now I have another problem - the video look like if it had a constant grain-filter applied to it - it's simply VERY grainy and the grains do not move. Plus I'm getting only 0 fps max with auto-brightness and auto-exposure off.

  • [ Solved ] World of Warcraft problem - resolution panning

I decided to give Wow a try and the game runs alright good at native resolution but if I set it to a lower resolution, the resolution changes but the screen goes into panning mode.  I think the resolution becomes 800x600 and then moving the mouse down or right causes the screen to pan.  Anyone know how to fix this?
    Last edited by Gen2ly (2009-04-19 02:59:58)

Ok, i got it figured out.  When i talked about panning imeant what some would call virtual-resolution.  Virtual-resolution allows for larger resolutions by allowing panning.  Panning is the process of moving the mouse to the edges of the screen to pan to the other areas of the desktop or in this instance a game.  I did learn that I can fix this by not loading the game with Launcher.exe and rather just use the game itself: wow.exe.

  • My resolution of Apple wireless keyboard failure.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on this Forum pertaining to wireless keyboard disconnect problems. There are many, many suggestions for how to resolve (rebooting, removing plists, updating firmware, suspicions about Leopard, disconnecting all USB devices, etc., etc.), and none that I’ve read about seem to do the trick consistently/reliably.
Rather than posting this tale at the end of another topic, I thought I’d post a new topic indicating my problem/resolution. First of all, I have an iMac, 20”, Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB, running Leopard 10.5.5. This was purchased Oct. 2006 and I have the wireless white plastic keyboard (which includes the numeric keypad) and mighty mouse. Over the past 2 years the wireless keyboard and mouse have worked very reliably, until recently. Several weeks ago my keyboard disconnected unexpectedly and I had a tough time getting it back “online”. I did all the logical things: replaced batteries, rebooted, removed plist files, made sure all software/firmware was up to date, etc. In some cases in trying to pair it, it would be seen, I would type in the passcode, it would connect, but only to disconnect shortly thereafter. Finally, it stayed connected and I thought I was home free.
Then, yesterday it disconnected again. I did all the things done previously to no avail. This time the keyboard was never seen. i.e., I never got to the point where the Bluetooth Assistant asks for a passcode, it just never saw the keyboard. By the way, the keyboard light blinked when I turned it on just like it should, and I should mention that throughout this process, my Apple wireless mouse worked fine.
At this point I decided, enough! Fortunately, I live close to an Apple store so I made an appointment to talk to a “genius”, which I did this morning. I brought in my computer and wireless mouse and keyboard. Since the mouse worked fine, I was convinced the problem was with the keyboard, but I brought in my iMac just to make sure the problem wasn’t there.
With the access to other wireless keyboards, Macs, etc.) available at the Apple store, it was pretty easy to trouble-shoot the source of the problem. My keyboard would not pair with another Mac in the store, but my iMac would pair just fine with a different wireless keyboard. My batteries were fine so the problem was obviously some sort of failure with my keyboard. The genius guessed the Bluetooth antenna went bad.
Even though my system was out of warranty, the genius told me I could buy a replacement keyboard at a discounted price of $45, which I did. So, that is my “resolution”. Not quite as satisfactory as finding some sort of magic bullet that would fix my old one, but I now have a working wireless keyboard, at a fair price, and I can quit tearing my hair out trying a myriad of unproductive “fixes”.

    Hi there!
Just received brand new iMac 21" yesterday. Unboxed it, turned it on and none of both bluetooth devices (keyboard and magic mouse) managed to get paired.
I was able to connect a USB mouse to log into the Mac. Did all turn off/on Bluetooth, turn off/on iMac several times with no luck. Weird thing is that when I lift keyboard on a 30 degree angle above my desk it seems to actually pair with the iMac but then when back to original position it disconnects.
I've tried the magic mouse with my 2008 Macbook and works flawlessly. After several attempts never managed to pair magic mouse with iMac and as said earlier keyboard is not working on a standard position on my desk. It is frustrating to have paid close to 2,000$ for something that does not even work out of the box... Any ideas or suggestions?
I'm planning to take it today to nearest Apple Stores but have a bad feeling about "genius" folks being able to help me out. Would be worth changing iMac for new one?
    Thanks a lot in advanced!

  • Photoshop CS5 Screen Resolution

    <START OF RANT>
Having recently decided to upgrade all my design software, I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was (and still am) to find that after spending £231.12 GBP on buying Photoshop CS5 (upgrade from CS2) I'm unable to "Save As" and access some other features on my Acer Ferrari One due to the minimum screen resolution requirement. And before you start preaching that I should have checked, blah, blah, blah, and that it's my own fault then I only have 2 words for you: F*** O**!!! Why am I reacting like this? Simples, both Photoshop CS2 and Dreamweaver CS5 (for a mere £219.95 GBP) work fine on the very same netbook without any problems!!!
Having spent hours upon hours browsing the tinternet (a.k.a. world wide web) and finding countless of people in the same boat as me making futile attempts to get Photoshop CS5 to work on a smaller screen resolution (the most common being 1024x600), it seems that short of changing the screen it will not work properly.
Allow me therefore to put the following questions to the developers/coders of Photoshop CS5:
    1. Why do Photoshop CS2 and Dreamweaver CS5 work on the same netbook without fail yet Photoshop CS5 won't (unable to "Save As", can't see full screen of the "Save for Web" screen, etc.)?! WHY??? And please don't start with the lame excuse that they are different programs for different purposes because at the end of the day it's the same company. You don't buy a Mercedes C-Class and a Mercedes S-Class to find that the steering works on 1 but not the other, do you?!
    2. Are your heads so far up your place where the sun don't shine that you have forgotten about the fact that people FIRST pick a PC/Mac/Laptop/Notebook/Netbook and ONLY THEN PICK SOFTWARE?
    3. Do you want people to keep buying your software?
If the answer to question 3 (above) is YES, then PULL YOUR FINGERS OUT, get your act together and do something about these issues, pronto. Else, rest assured you will lose custom to the competition (e.g Corel) - even loyalists like myself (who started & stuck with Photoshop since 1997 - that's 14 YEARS OF LOYALTY should one be incapable of doing the math). In this day & age any company would be wise not to make mistakes which could cost it market share - Adobe is making that mistake with Photoshop right now!!!
    </END OF RANT!!!>

    <Start of Reply>
Why are trying to get Photoshop work on a display that is smaller then the programs was designed for. Adobe publishes screen requirements.  Next you'll want it to run on a iPod Nano so you can have it on hand all the time.
<Just keep on RANTING if it make you feel GOOD>
CS2 Works the Problem is all YOU
So same to you and you foul mouth.
Why blame Adobe Why not your net book maker fot not allowing you to set a resolution more then the display has. I have worked on machines the could the just scroll the display over the larger image that way you can see the whole image.  CS5 would work on a machine like that. Of course I want it always at hand!!! Do you even live in this world?! Have you noticed for example that phones have better cameras than the best camera available en masse 5 years ago let alone longer e.g. 10 years ago? Note how small it is!!!
Of course I want to edit my pictures using the program of my choice and 14 years ago I did make that choice choosing PS, hence the decision to purchase the Acer Ferrari One - CS2 works like a charm.
As to the point that I'm problematic, please read my post carefully before making statements that make you come across as foolish.
    Hobotor wrote:
    1. Serious ps users make sure their hardware meets their program's system requirements.
    2. If you decide to buy you bigger Mercedes and it won't fit into your garage anymore, I'd say that's your own fault.
    3. ALL software evolves, if you insist on using your old hardware, stick with the programs that were built to run on your old gear.
    1. OLD Hardware?! Please do your homework before replying. The Acer Ferrari One was released beginning of last year and is a top of the range netbook - more powerful than any netbook out there and any laptop that is over 2 years old. FACT! Even some of the new laptops benchmarked could not out-do this little beast. FACT!
    2. Unless one is buying a Mercedes Van or Truck it will fit in the garage (even the ML320 fits) - CS2 fits and so do other Adobe CS3 & CS4 products. So why not the PS CS5 - its no a Van or Truck. In fact it's more comparable to an S-Class.
    3. Hardware also evolves - it's getting smaller and more powerful. I could run PS on the water-cooled, Phenom X4 & NVidia GeForce 9800 GX2 powered stationary PC connected to a 32" LCD by HDMI, running Linux Mint 10 x64/Windows 7 x64 (dual boot) with MacOS X running virtually by use of VMWare on both. Instead I choose to be mobile editing my pics as soon as I have taken them (patience is not always a virtue)! As humans we also need to evolve and judging by most of the replies so far it's not looking good for human evolution (albeit some replies do make valid & intelligent arguments and are as such well received).

To Julian:  You should return the software for a refund ASAP before you're stuck with it for good.

You are right: I do mean to offend Adobe and hope they are offended!!! However, do accept my apologies for losing composure (and my manners along with it). Unfortunately, in this day and age it seems to be the only way to reach the audience of those who can assist with problem resolution of this kind. That is of course unless the very same decide to provide the PS CS5 source code which would enable me to address the issue at hand without the need to contact Adobe or rant.

Not speaking for Adobe, I would expect that they want intelligent people to keep buying their software. They also make Photoshop Elements for someone like you. Photoshop is a professional image editing application used by professionals. Professionals do not pick up a cheap low-power netbook to do their image editing. Casting the concept of 'professional' aside, Adobe expects buyers to be literate to notice the system requirements prior to paying large sums.
If all that you are doing is web design, you should be using GIMP, which is free, requires much less resources, and is better suited for preparing web images (PNG8 with alpha anyone?).
    RE: rants... GIGO
In fact, it would be better for you not to speak at all considering your assumptious and pompous nature. Adobe will pay attention to this post as long as it attracts traffic (you can find a simple explanation of the term 'traffic' in this context using this link). As to your ideology of the professional image editor, it is of little interest here and beside the point. Thus, please refrain from participating any further in this discussion while not in a capacity to speak on behalf of Adobe or offer anything other than remarkable insights into what one should or should not use for image editing.
If I have not replied to anyone, please accept my apologies - I will find the time to do so another day but I wouldn't want miss Love Never Dies at the Adelphi now would I.
    Good night and good luck

  • Airport wifi problems with uverse and gigabit switch resolved

I think there is a bug in airport firmware 7.6 with how spanning tree works in addition to problems with the Uverse router. Having an Airport with a uverse 2wire 3801 and gigabit switch will not work. Putting the extreme in NAT mode with DMZ plus behind the uverse resolved the problem.
    Network configuration:
    Uverse 2wire 3801 router
3801 provides prioritization for upstream traffic so skype and VoIP work better when doing a lot of stuff on Internet
    Airport extreme firmware 7.6
two airport express 802.11n hardwired to extreme. Set up in bridge mode. All access points have same SSID "create a network" to enable roaming. Ignore anything to do with extending a network.  firmware 7.6
    two gigabit switches
        Netgear GS608 - 8 port gigabit switch
        Trendnet TEG-S80g - 8 port gigabit switch
100BT 5 port switch - did not figure into problem
Three Uverse set top boxes wired on Ethernet. They have to be wire directly to the 2wire box to work correctly. See: http://forums.att.com/t5/Features-and-How-To/At-amp-t-U-Verse-modem-setup-Airpor t-Extreme/td-p/2300785
However, you need to be careful to place your own PCs and other internet devices on the network created by your gear (airport extreme in your case), but keep AT&T's set top boxes for the IPTV services IN FRONT of your own router - so they remain on AT&T's provided network.
So it would work like this ...
Network 1: 2wire RG (4 lan ports) ->  Any Set tops, and to the WAN port on your AirportExtreme
Network 2: Airport Extreme LAN ports -> to any computers or internet devices (but not AT&T set top boxes).
The RG prioritizes the traffic for your Uverse Voice and your Uverse TV ahead of internet data traffic, as it rationalizes data heading out of your home.  If you place your own equipment in that equation (like putting AT&T set top boxes behind your Airport Extreme) the performance and function of your AT&T set top boxes could really flake out on you.
    Symptom:
Everything would be working fine, then intermittently all my wifi access points would stop working. ~6,000 ms latency, dropped packets. Ethernet worked fine. Here is an example of my macbook pinging the extreme when associated with the extreme over wifi with a strong signal.
    ping: sendto: Host is down
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 23
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 24
    64 bytes from 192.168.1.64: icmp_seq=25 ttl=255 time=267.051 ms
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 26
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 27
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 28
    64 bytes from 192.168.1.64: icmp_seq=26 ttl=255 time=3402.599 ms
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 30
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 31
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 32
    64 bytes from 192.168.1.64: icmp_seq=30 ttl=255 time=3060.673 ms
    64 bytes from 192.168.1.64: icmp_seq=34 ttl=255 time=24.115 ms
    64 bytes from 192.168.1.64: icmp_seq=35 ttl=255 time=31.056 ms
    64 bytes from 192.168.1.64: icmp_seq=36 ttl=255 time=39.828 ms
    Root cause:
It looks like the 2wire 2801 router has a problem with spanning tree when interoperating with gigabit switches and airports. There is interplay with the airport.
I did not have this problem until the 7.6 airport firmware. I had been using the Netgear hub for about a year with the extreme in bridge mode. I added the Trendnet hub and upgraded airport firmware at the same time which made fault isolation difficult.
    Problem recreation:
Set up airport expresses hard wired to extreme
Connect gigabit switch anywhere to network
    Everything OK
Dettach one computer from wifi then reattach, then all wifi stops working. It takes a few seconds for the problem to propagate.
    Ethernet still works fine
    Problem Resolution:
    Connect to 2wire with ethernet
Set 2wire route to have subnet as 192.168.2.x
Set extreme in NAT mode behind 2wire. It will complain about double NAT. Override the warning. Set the subnet to 192.168.1.x so you don't have to change any static IP addresses. Note that 2wire uses 192.168.1.254 as default route whereas airport uses 192.168.1.1.
I set DHCP to start at .10 to leave the lower addresses for assigning static IP addresses to computers I want to expose outside the firewall.
Go into firewall settings. Select airport extreme. Select the bottom setting which is "DMZ Plus". When you go into the airport extreme settings, you will now see that it has the uverse public IP address on its WAN port. NAT port mappings work fine on the extreme behind the 2wire router.

Keeping this very short here is a summary of the actual problem and solution to allow your Apple Airport Extreme to run in Bridge mode on the same subnet as your uVerse settop boxes (if your Layer 2 switch is configurable).
Devices: Uverse, Cisco SG300, and Airport Extreme
uVerse uses Multicast to broadcast video streams between the uVerse network to the settop box, and from settop box to settop box.
X number of Multicast Groups are created based on X number of settop boxes you have.  You can see the multicast definitions by logging into the webinterface of the iNid. Each settop box is a member and can choose to display a broadcasted TV stream or not.
Multicast membership is setup by the use of ICMP messages for IPv4 (MLD for IPv6).  Each of the settop boxes become members of each others multicast group by reporting up to the iNid (MultiCast Proxy).
In an ideal world a layer 2 switch will track these memberships and only forward a broadcast packet to the ports on the switch to which the settop boxes are connected to.  The switch would do these via snooping on the ICMP packets.  Most switches by default do not do this by default and simply forward the broadcast packett out every one of it's switch ports.
Here in lies the problem.  Problem is that the Apple AES doesn’t do ICMP snooping / filtering and floods the wireless network with these broadcast streams.
In order to fix this you must turn on ICMP snooping and filtering on the switch (or buy a switch that does this).  I have a Cisco SG300 and list out the configuration below.
    Other notes:
Ensure that all Media renderers (settop boxes) and servers are wired directly off the switch and not attached to any of the Airport Express ports.  This way no media transverses the Airport (only control point traffic goes through the WiFi - which is fine).  Obviously if the IGMP snooping switch sees any client requesting Multicast streaming traffic on the same port as the WAP, it will add that Multicast address to the forwarding table for that port, and then, yes it could get flooded.
Remember, you need to allow some Multicast traffic through your WAP to allow UPnP discovery to work (assuming that you will be using Wireless control points.)
Read the Multicast chapter in the SG 300 switch Admin Guide as it explains things very well.
Setting up multicast on the SG300s using the WebUI:
    1. Multicast/Properties/
Tick enable Bridge Multicast Filtering Status for VLAN 1, and
set the Forwarding Method to IP Group Address for both IPv4 & IPv6.
    2. Multicast/ IGMP snooping/
Tick enable IGMP snooping status then select and edit the entry and ensure that IGMP querier status is ticked.
It's essential for IGMP snooping to work that there must be at least one active IGMP querier on the network - if more than one is enabled, they will carry out an "election" to decide which one should be active (normally the one with the lowest IP address.)
    3. Multicast Router Port
Set whichever port that is connected to the uVerse iNid to Status which means that it the uVerse router connected to this port is the Multicast Router
    4. Multicast/ Unregistered Multicast
set all ports to Filtering. (The default is Forwarding.)
There are a lot of other variables within all the above - the defaults are OK, you should probably leave them alone!
In the config file you would then expect to see the above appearing as something like this:
    ip igmp snooping
    ip igmp snooping vlan 1
ip igmp snooping vlan 1 immediate-leave
    interface vlan 1
    bridge multicast mode ipv4-group
    bridge multicast ipv6 mode ip-group
    interface range gi1-10
    bridge multicast unregistered filtering
ip igmp snooping vlan 1 querier
ip igmp snooping vlan 1 querier address <IP-Addr>

  • Transfer photo problem: Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader to iPad

    Equipment:
Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader-ZML (from BH Photo dot com)
    Version 7.0.2 (11A501)
    iPad Wi-Fi Cellular 32GB MD517LL/A
    SD card 4GB Kingston SDHC
SD card 32GB Lexar SDHC Class 10
    Nikon D5100
Fry's build desktop with Windows 7 Home Edition
    Files type:
    *.jpg
    Desired outcome:
Transfer *.jpg images from desktop to SD card to iPad for use Photos (camera roll)
    Successes:
iPad recognizes and displays *.jpg created in-camera.
    Problem statement:
File origin: all image files created with camera listed above.
Files created in camera (*.jpg & *.NEF (RAW), then transferred to desktop.  *.NEF files converted to *.jpg.  Reload files to SD card in *.jpg format only, iPad does not see / display images to be imported from SD card to iPad.
    Problem resolution attempts:
Format SD card using desktop, result - iPad does not recognize SD card
Format SD card using camera, result - iPad recognizes SD card
Try a different SD card (used two, see equipment above)
Test shot photo (*.jpg) in camera work only (no transfer to desktop), result iPad recognizes and displays image
    For *.jpgs on desktop
1st convert file names to same nomenclature (system of names) created by camera (DSC_001.jpg) (DSC underscore 3 digits file extension).
2nd load file into same folder that was created by camera on SD cards, result displayed one desktop originating test photo once only.  Subsequent attempts failed.
No difference in performance between the 2 SD cards.  In camera work displays but not transfer files from desktop to SD card
E-mail photos (15) to personal e-mail, open file with internet, copy to iPad, result iPad copies, loads, and displays images in camera roll.  I used same images I loaded to SD from desktop in attempt to keep everything equal.
Side note: I received a notification (push to my device) to from Apple to update software.  The operating system was updated to what I have now.  I don't recall if the one success I listed above was before or after the OS update.
    Discussion
Lighning cable advertised as useful in transfering images (pictures) to iPad.  I read prior to purchase what image files were supported.  I began with high hopes, and now I'm very deflated.
I've hacked and hacked and tried and read and tried and... I can't solve this problem.
A resolution (without additional expenditures) is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance to everyone for your consideration and help.
    Houston, Texas, United States

There's a step by step in the manual
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/
There is no specific naming convention beyond must be in the DCIM folder and  must have 8 character names. myphotos.jpg for example.
I've successfully used SD cards to import videos off my computer onto my iPad, they just have to be named right.
The reason for the work arounds is, in Apple's work flow, you use the camera kit only to interface with your camera, if you want to import from your computer, you use iTunes. So that's the methods they favor. Transferring from your computer to a card to your iPad via the kit is a non-supported work around, which is why you have to basically fool the iPad into thinking those images came directly from the camera.

    Hello Barry,
    Thanks for the update.
The issue has been resolved by applying two more patches of  SPS19.
    Problem Resolution:
When we apply only one patch Adapter Frame Work Core (SAPXIAFC19P_19-20000272.SCA (Adapter Framework Core 19)), there is chance for some sort of inconsistences in the system and the interfaces relating to Adapter Frame work gets failed from reciever end(R3services).
To avoid such problems (inconsistences) we need to apply the patches which are related to that. And those are .
    SAPXIAF19P_9-20000273.SCA           Adapter Framework for SP19.
SAPXITOOL19P_10-20000274.SCA) Cumulative Patch tool for SP19
Thanks for all helping me out to resolve the problem earliest.

    The Problem.......

Web browsing talked about possibly needing to specify a class path in a manifest file
I am unclear to why I require an apache class link for this example.
Browsing the class structure for ChartFactory.createPieChart (where the error occurs)
did not reveal any connection to apache.
Do I need a later version of the JDK (need the current one to interface with a Dallas Tini server.
Has anyone seen or resolved this issue.
    Thanks

    Hi Gabriele
Thank you for the reply and problem resolution.
I now have my "Hello World" pie chart and can now generate real plots.
I knew about the requirement for the log4j file, did a search for it, but
did not find the source (did not look hard enough).
Per your reply, I now have a log4j.1.2.8.jar.
I did have another gotcha before I could produce the chart.
    My initial run generated:
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.jfree.chart.JFreeChart).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
I then did some web browing on the error and found that I needed to add the following to
    my code:
    org.apache.log4j.BasicConfigurator.configure();
    End result........ Pie chart.
The only remaining problem is that the file was not generated in C:PieChart, jpg,
but in C:\TRiLOGI\TL%/apps\jFreeChart\PieChart.jpg. This was one directory up
    from mypackage.
I will have to look more into the class:
    ChartUtilities.saveChartAsJPEG(new java.io.File("C:PieChart.jpg"), ............)
    Thanks again

  • Isight problems!

    Hi!
I have a big problem with my isight.
When my someone calls me, it say`s that i dont answer, even if i do. I have tried my camera when i was in the same room as this person, but now when we are in different countries it doesnt work anymore.
I don´t know anything about computers, so i dont know what to do.
I am connected to a network in the building were live. I need a password to get in, so i guess its not wireless. Can it be that i cant use my camera on this network, or is it anything i can change on my computer?
I really hope someone can help me.
    Thanks!

Welcome, marie__.I am connected to a network in the building were live. I need a password to get in, so i guess its not wireless.A password is NOT an indication of whether internet service is wireless. You are "wireless" if you do not need to connect some kind of wire, usually ethernet cable, to your computer to use the internet.
Your first stop for help should be with the people who manage your building's internet network. Once they help you get your internet connection working for things like email and web browsing, they may be able to help you configure your connection for whatever software you are using when someone "calls" you.
Now on to your "iSight" questions.
You can Test your iSight to ensure it is functional using these tips. If iSight works, your problem is with some software you are using with your iSight. Perhaps you are using iChat AV? If you are using another video chat or instant messenger application, disregard the following suggestions about iChat AV.
Whatever software you use, try testing with several other users to see whether your problem is with everyone or only with the one person.
If you are using iChat AV, start with the suggestions and links in Using iSight.
If you cannot connect using iChat AV with anyone, try the troubleshooting and problem resolution suggestions in Help for iChat AV 3 Problems.
If you previously had iChat AV video chats working, try the suggestions in How to get iChat AV working again that are relevant to your system.
Once you can ask a more specific and let us know what software you are using when you have your problem, we may be able to offer more specific suggestions.

  • URL  access problem

I have JDK1.5.0_06 (build 1.5.0_06-b05) on my PC with Windows 2000 OS and when I am running the following code
    public class A
    public static void main(String[] args)
    try{
    URL u = new URL("http://www.aaaa.com/xxxx%F3P%F3Rblabla");
    ur = u.openConnection();
    ur.getInputStream().close();
    }catch(Exception e){
    e.printStackTrace();

I think that the problem is using "%F3" in the URL. But, I have a site where this code appears in the URL and from IE it works fine.
If somebody knows how to solve please give me a sign.
If I use 1.5.0_02 (build 1.5.0_02-b09) it works fine.
    Best regards,

Are regular users able to access Files? Is the user seeing the SSO Login page or do they just get a HTTP 500?
Please have the user delete all their cookies and temporary internet files and try it again.
In addition please see if the users request makes it to the Files server by checking the HTTP access_log and the Files servlet's application.log.
    Hope that helps,
    -sancho
I have a user who is having trouble accessing the
administrator and files URL. He is using the same URL
as other administrators but keeps getting HTTP 500
error or page can not be displayed.
The problem appears to be with his browser settings
in IE version 5.5. He has reinstalled IE and is still
getting this error. He can use someone else's PC and
is able to log in using the URLs but on his PC he
    keeps getting an error.
Does anyone have any suggestions where to start
    looking for a problem resolution?
