Two application deployed on same weblogic domain

Hi
Can OSSO (Oracle Single Sign On) and OAM (Oracle Access manager) both be deployed on the same server in the same Weblogic Domain? My hunt is it is possible as long as the port nbumber is different. Any feedback are welcome.
thanks

AFAIK OAM cannot be deployed on Weblogic till next gen release which is quite far right now. So there's no point of asking if both can be deployed on the same server since OAM cannot be deployed on weblogic at all.

i want to use the both ojdbc14.jar and ojdbc6.jar in same domain.
what i previously did was renaming /usr/weblogic/wls_server10.3.4/lib/ojdbc6.jar to /usr/weblogic/wls_server10.3.4/lib/ojdbc6.jar.bak and put ojdbc14.jar in the same path when i wanna use ojdbc14.jar.

• Application deployment to standalone WebLogic problem

Hi!
I have a problem with application deployment to standalone WebLogic server.
We migrated from JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.2.1. I followed the instructions on this page: https://blogs.oracle.com/imc/entry/standalone_weblogic_domain_for_adf to deploy our ADF application to AdminServer. Everything worked OK.
Then I followed the instructions on this page: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/web.1111/e13813/custom_jrf.htm to apply JRF to our managed server "ADF_server" and got this:
wls:/offline> applyJRF('ADF_server', '/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/our_domain')
Read domain /Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/our_domain to applyJRF
Copy JRF configuration files from /Oracle/Middleware/oracle_common/modules to /Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/our_domain/config/fmwconfig/servers/ADF_server
Target JRF components to "ADF_server"
Update JRF changes to domain /Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/our_domain in offline mode
This is probably OK?
When I try to deploy to a managed server "ADF_server" a problem occurs:
*[10:55:08 AM] Weblogic Server Exception: weblogic.application.ModuleException: Failed to load webapp: 'ADFMainApplication-ViewController-context-root'*

*[10:55:08 AM] See server logs or server console for more details.*
*[10:55:08 AM] weblogic.application.ModuleException: Failed to load webapp: 'ADFMainApplication-ViewController-context-root'*

*[10:55:08 AM] ---- Deployment incomplete ----.*
*[10:55:08 AM] Remote deployment failed (oracle.jdevimpl.deploy.common.Jsr88RemoteDeployer)*
What do I have to do to get it to work on managed server? Please help.
Regards, Marko

Did you make sure that the 11.1.1.5.0 adf runtime was installed on the managed server before you installed the patches to upgrade to 11.1.2.1.0?
If not this is the problem. The new runtime is only installed automatically if the olny one was set up correctly,my personal finding from my tests. If you like to read more on this check http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/06/25/upgrading-wls-10-3-5-with-adf-runtime-11-1-2-0-0-sherman-patch/ and http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/follow-up-upgrading-wls-10-3-5-with-adf-runtime-11-1-2-0-0-sherman-patch/ .
You can do threethings:
1. open the Enterprise Manager select your managed server and hope you see a message like 'aply JRF to this managed server' (can't remember the exact wording). Do this and the libs should setup OK.
2. open the admin console and select the needed shared libs and add your manages server as target. Problem is that you don't know which libs are needed. If you don't mind target all libs to the managed server. Not sure if this causes trouble later.
3. write down any information about the managed server like port, machine names domain name. Remove the managed server from the WLS installation. This should be much trouble as you are upgrading and that should be no application or shared library of your one deployed to the managed server. After removing the old managed server shut down wls and start it again (just for safety). Now create an new managed server with all names, ports and other information like the old one using the quickstart tool.
I prefer the 3 method, as this one worked all the time for me.

• Web Application Deployment Issue in SOA Domain

I have a web application war file which when deployed in Weblogic 10.3.6 separately works fine.
When I deploy the same in a SOA domain (_Weblogic 10.3.6 + SOA 11.1.1.6 + OSB 11.1.1.6_), it's throwing the below error.
In both the cases I am targeting the application to the Adminserver only.

• Exception accessing ADF application deployed on Oracle Weblogic Server

Hi All,
We have a web application developed using ADF Faces, Trinidad & BC4J. The application runs fine on Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.1.0). When I deploy the same on to remote weblogic server 10.1.3 and I access the jspx page I get the below exception:

It looks like there is some issue with the datasource. I have created a datasource WebApplicationDS with JNDI name jdbc/WebApplicationDS on the weblogic server. In the application module I have changed the datasource from java:comp/env/jdbc/WebApplicationDS to jdbc/WebApplicationDS before deploying on to WLS. With the current setting if I run from JDeveloper I get the same error.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance.

• MacBook Pro Freezes while using more than two applications at the same time

Over the last two weeks my MBP has been freezing every time i use two or more applications at the same time. For e.g. my whole system freezes from time to time when i use itunes and safari at the same time. This problem never existed before and has just started recently and is really annoying. What can i do to fix it?

Rather than re-installing Safari have you tried simply "Resetting" it (head to "Reset safari" under the "Safari" menu). It is possible that something in your user folder that supports Safari is really the cause of the problem. Re-installing Safari won't deal with this, but re-setting it can.
In fact the first thing you should try is simply choosing "Empty cache..". If your cache files are corrupted then this in itself could explain the behaviour.
If you choose to do the Reset first try it with just "Empty cache" and "remove all website icons" selected. This will reduce the amount that you will "lose" in the process. (Cookies, history, etc). Add in additional options if the first attempt doesn't fix it.
Cheers

• How can we launch the labview screen beyond other screens while running two applications on a same time

Hi all,
I need to run two applications in my system at same time. one of the application is labview. it is running in backside. the dialog boxes which i created in labveiew need to display in fron of all applications.... what should i do to do that.....any suggestions...
thanks in advance
Regards,
Ragu

The easiest thing to do (but can be bad) is to make the LabVIEW window modal. This will make it the front most window at all times, until the program stops executing. As you can imagine if you don't have a way to close the window then you will be forced to kill LabVIEW through the taskmanager.
To make window modal go to VI Properties (by right clicking the VI's icon) go to Window Appearance, click Customize, then under Window Behavior select Modal.
The other more complicated solution is to use Dll calls to bring the window to the front.

• 3.2.3;Swing app.; Cannot work with two applications at the same time.

Hi guys,
I bring this problem here may somebody experienced that.
I developed two client side applications(applets) with JDev3.2.3.
Locate them on Apache/Tomcat. There is also a
Index.html file with two links, so when user clicks on
each link the associated application will downloaded
on his/her PC and ready to work. (In index.html I used
JavaScript function window.open(…) to load the applications)
Now please see this scenario:
1-I ran/loaded both application in two separate
browsers(IE5.5). And tried to work with them(minimized
one and work with another). Soon I faced unexpected
frizzing/locking or very slow running on both
applications.
2-Then closed/killed one of them(killed IE). Then
re-executed same application again. The application
loaded with the last activated screen . Seems it never
killed and it was still alive.
3- The only way to successfully working is one by one.
Means execute & work with one, then kill that, and
then execute and work with another. Which is not expected
in the Windows enviroment.
To Debug:
When both applications were running(each on it’s own
IE), I opened the Task Manager and saw there was only
one IEXPLORER.EXE was running, also there was only one
Java VM (a little bird icon) on right-bottom of the
screen.
I believe this causes the problem. Seems they both
running in the same session. Since I opened two
applications in two IE I was expected to see two
IEXPLORER.EXE with two JVM. Am I right? Do you think
so?
Any way, Now I am seeking to find the solution. My
primary mind says probably I should not use
window.open(..) in index.html to load the
applications.
Would appreciate any command on this.

Same thing with me! My microphone doesn't even register in anything but ventrilo!
It's dri'ves me NUTS! I bought the card (xfi fatalty) for a really good price, but I almost regret even looking into the soundcard because of this bug. I know Vista is a new operating system..but I figure'd this kind of update should have been noticed MUCH earlier..
Please creative, can you fix this?
On another note..is there a sound quality difference between using an x-fi in vista vs xp?
*not meaning to thread jack*
finally..
you should probably close the other thread.. You made two, you know.

I have done a web application using struts, now the client need is splitting my application into two and accessing them like
First App :http://servername:port/demo/one/index.jsp
Two App: http://servername:port/demo/two/index.jsp
Is it possible that both the applications sharing single domain name?
Thanks in advance.
SRI.

Hello,
This can be done. the domain names can be same the context path will distinguish the service like
http://servername:port/demo/one/index.jsp Context part starts from Demo which can remain same and then you can have different services like one, two, three etc
to be more easy we
http://servername:port/service/app-name/ etc..
Please do let me know for more information.
Thanks

• Can we deploy both BPM and Webcenter on same weblogic domain?

Hi,
We have a clustered environment with two managed servers configured for SOA.
Now, we are looking to integrate BPM worklists into custom webcenter portal app. In this process, can we create and deploy custom webcenter portal app on the same SOA servers? Please help.
Thanks,
Suren.

There is something called Process Spaces which is BPM Inegrated into Webcenter Spaces which can be setup on the same domain
http://andrejusb.blogspot.in/2011/02/bpm-portal-11g-ps3-how-to-configure.htmlAs yours is a custom WC Portal I would suggested to use separate managed servers for ADF and SOA to balance the load and to separate concerns if any ..

• Communication between two web applications deployed on same app server

I need to update the war file of one application(say Application A) from another application(say application B). Actually application B is the admin application of application A.
In order to achieve this, I need to get the ServletContext of A from B. How can I do that?
P.S: Both the applications will be deployed on the same app server and they are app server independent.

from the JavaDocs:
http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/ServletContext.html
getContext
public ServletContext getContext(java.lang.String uripath)
Returns a ServletContext object that corresponds to a specified URL on the server.
This method allows servlets to gain access to the context for various parts of the server, and as needed obtain RequestDispatcher objects from the context. The given path must be begin with "/", is interpreted relative to the server's document root and is matched against the context roots of other web applications hosted on this container.
In a security conscious environment, the servlet container may return null for a given URL.
Parameters:
uripath - a String specifying the context path of another web application in the container.
Returns:
the ServletContext object that corresponds to the named URL, or null if either none exists or the container wishes to restrict this access.

• Session getting lost between two applications deployed on two WLS versions.

Hi,
Jdev version 11.1.1.5.
I am facing an issue of session being getting lost. Let me explain the scenario.
Our client has a legacy application(xyz) running on Web logic server(10.3.3). We have developed an application which was deployed on Web logic Server(10.3.5).
The Legacy application will call the developed application using URL invocation. In the legacy application, the logged in user information is stored in session and the same parameter is appended to URL to call the developed application.
In the developed application, we have a servlet which reads the URL and based on the parameter appended to it, we set the context of the application. Everything is working fine till here.
But, in the developed application, we have a link to navigate to the legacy application. Once navigated, in legacy application if the user again calls the developed application, the session which was set earlier is lost.
Because of this, the context is not getting set in the developed application.
Is there a way, I can resolve this issue? OR can I raise SR with Oracle to look into it. Please suggest.
Thanks,
Umesh

Thanks Frank for the reply.
Session sharing was not configured in WLS.
I was searching for Session sharing and I found this article written by Lucas Jellema. http://technology.amis.nl/2012/01/18/sharing-session-state-between-jee-web-application-through-weblogic-session-descriptor-of-sharing-enabled/
Here it is mentioned that for session sharing, we need to check the Enable session sharing in weblogic-application.xml.
My question is do we need to make this change in both the application? i.e Legacy application and developed application.
And it was mentioned in the article that both the web app were deployed to a single Web Logic Server. But in my case the Legacy application is deployed to 10.3.3 and developed application is deployed to 10.3.5.
In this case will the session sharing works?
Any how I will let our client know about this change and will give a try.
Thanks,
Umesh

• Application deployment order with weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and jndi-name

I have two applicatation working on Weblogic server v. 10.3.6.
First of them creating one ejb stateless bean and creates JNDI maping for it (in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file):
<weblogic-enterprise-bean>
<ejb-name>ConfigMenegerBean</ejb-name>
<stateless-session-descriptor>
<stateless-session-descriptor>
<business-interface-jndi-name-map>
<business-remote>package.ConfigurationSessionRemote</business-remote>
<jndi-name>ConfigMeneger</jndi-name>
</business-interface-jndi-name-map>
</stateless-session-descriptor>
<enable-call-by-reference>true</enable-call-by-reference>
<jndi-name>ConfigMeneger</jndi-name>
</weblogic-enterprise-bean>
Second appication have to refer for this bean by JNDI using spring been lookup :
<jee:jndi-lookup id="configManager" jndi-name="ConfigMeneger"/>
I changed deployment order parameter for both apllication(first=100 and second=500) in order to first app start first and share bean by jndi to another application. Unfortuantelly I got an error :
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'ConfigMeneger'. Resolved ''; remaining name 'ConfigMeneger'
How can I configure deployment order that first application make jndi mapping for bean, before the second application will use it ?

Ok in a way I have solved my problem (even if I am not completely satisfied by the way on how to proceed...). So thanks to message "JBuilder7.0 and Weblogic6.1" on EJB sun forum :
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?thread=285735&forum=13&message=1255488
I have tried the following actions (mentionned in the other forum messages):
- To preserve changes to weblogic*.xml, the safest way is to change the ejb-borland.xml.
(I am not sure that I have applied this advice correctly, because I suppose that syntax is not similar in weblogic file or borland file).
And you can MANUALLY update the weblogic file in your JAR archive.
1. Open the EJB JAR file in Winzip and extract the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file, so that a copy exists in your
project directory.
2. Open this file (in Notepad), add the WebLogic specific information, and then save the file.
3. Now, when you are finished with the build cycle and are ready to deploy, you may open the EJB jar file
and swap in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file."
Good Luck.

• The app Spaces keeps me from using two applications at the same time.

I set up Spaces but now experience a bad side-effect. When I need to have Two files/folders/whatever in use because I want to place something from X into Y, I cannot do it because Spaces only lets One application on the desktop at the time; it shoos all the other applications away, and in doing so, it takes away the thing that I wanted to place into the new application that swooshed onto my desktop when I pressed its corresponding square in the Spaces icon in the top control panel.
How can I arrange it so that I can keep Two or three applications available for me to do transfers from one to another?
~ Lorna in Southern California

Ferrell, I have done what you suggested. I clicked onto the Spaces icon in the upper control panel and assigned spaces to six apps: Mail, Safari, iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, and iWeb.
The problem is that if I am one app and I want to put something into that app, then the minute my mouse cursor goes to get that other thing, the original application into which I want the thing put GETS WHOOSHED OFF THE DESKTOP. What I want is for the original app to remain open whilst I go to retrieve a file or folder, and stay open while I put that thing into the original app.
How does one turn off Spaces? I don't mean to delete all the names from the settings.I mean, just turn it off for a while so I can do something which requires for two apps to be open at the same time????

• Two applications at the same time on M200?

On the Amazon site (and other places I'm sure) it says about the M200:
"With the optional Tablet Multi Dock station, you can plug in an external keyboard and monitor allowing you to run two different applications on separate screens at the same time."
I've read through the documentation for both my M200 and the multidock and it doesn't seem to say how you do this. It seems odd when this is claimed to be a special thing you can do with the M200, that it doesn't say how you do it! Could someone enlighten me please?
Many thanks

Hi edspd
I agree with Juan. Using tabletmultidock2 you can use many ports that are available there and all external devices can be connected on to docking station. There is also select bay drive. Like you know on every PC or notebook you can start a few different applications but using external monitor you can watch and control two of them at the same time using extended desktop option.
Preinstalled TOSHIBA Mobile Extension tool allow you to adapt the right view on the external monitor. Before you can do this enable Display Change Service.
Dear perplexed it is possible to manage it to work on the way that you want. I have saw it for a long time but I can not remember any more how it works. Please check all settings in Display Change Service tab (Mobile Extension) and under other tools (tablet settings and rotation utility).
Bye
