Two copies of most emails on my iPhone

I have seen topics that have addressed duplicate contacts and duplicate calendar events, but I can't find one that addresses duplicate emails. On my iPhone 3GS, I almost always am receiving the same email twice. They are identical. How can I correct this?
I can, of course, go in and delete one of the two, but there must be a way to not have this happen.

I asked who is the email account provider for the email account with the duplicate messages on your iPhone and your reply was MobileMe.
Now it appears the email account with the duplicate messages on your iPhone is an AOL email account and if so, AOL is the email account provider for your AOL account.
If the received messages were only duplicated with the iPhone's Mail application - never anywhere else, the problem with lie there, but this is not the case.
You are accessing your AOL account as an IMAP account. With an IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email application used to access the account. The iPhone's Mail application is reflecting what is available at the incoming mail server for the account - what is available in the account's Inbox mailbox at AOL's server. The iPhone's Mail application can't duplicate messages, it is reflecting what is available at AOL's server in the account's Inbox mailbox.
I suggest you check your AOL account settings at the source - when logged in to your AOL account via webmail access using a browser. If you don't find anything out of the ordinary there, try deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone. If no change after deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone, contact AOL technical support since the problem lies there.

I'm experiencing this issue also. Just one user where I work, Mail in 10.9.3 and Office 365. In-house users only receiving duplicate messages, i.e. the same message twice. Any idea why or how to fix this?

Two copies of the same album on iPhone (but not in iTunes library) ?

Something very wierd is going on...
In my iTunes library there are 2 albums which appear to be duplicated on my iPhone.
In my iTunes library there is only one copy of the following two albums...
1. Armin Van Buuren - Imagine (11 tracks)
2. Armin Van Buuren - Shivers (10 tracks)
Yet on my iPhone these 2 albums are duplicated.
When viewing on the iPhone in coverflow, the albums appear as...
1. Armin Van Buuren - Imagine (11 tracks)
2. Armin Van Buuren - Shivers (10 tracks)
3. Armin Van Buuren - Imagine (11 tracks)
4. Armin Van Buuren - Shivers (10 tracks)
Even stranger, when viewing in Album view (phone held in potrait mode) one album appears 3 times...

I cannot work out what the **** is going on.

See One cover, too many tracks and One album, too many covers. A tiny spelling discrepancy in the Artist or *Album Artist* field is making one part of the iPod app see two copies of the album, the *Greatest Hits* "bug" then gives each copy of the album all of the tracks rather than just those with the matching value of Artist/Album Artist.

I am receiving two copies of every email on my Mac all of the sudden.

I did not change any settings. This is happening for mail coming to my mac.com address and my gmail.com address. I have a Mac OS X 10.6.8. I do not receive two copies on my Iphone. How can I fix this?

Why am I'm getting two copies of each email?

I'm trying to resolve a problem with backups cause by a corrupt SharePoint database on my SBS 2011 Server. I mention that to let you know I've been mucking around inside SBS2011 Standard. I haven't touched my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with Outlook 2013
x64 client machine.
Although I don't recall touching Exchange or Outlook, this morning, outlook 2013 x64 is showing two copies of each incoming email.
First there's a container message titled Microsoft Outlook <[email protected]>; on behalf of;
[email protected] with the real message as an attachment.
Then the real message it self is delivered titled
[email protected] I am list just one occurrence as an example.

Did you mean that the copied email is sent from
[email protected]? Is this a system E-mail?

Two copies of most files - fix?

I'm new to Aperture and inadvertently imported two versions of the iPhoto files - causing almost all older photos to be double. I didn't notice this immediately, and managed to import additional new photos into both libraries. I currently have almost 12,000 photos, so correcting this manually isn't my first choice. Anyone have suggestions how I can automatically, or perhaps partly automated, deleted the duplicates without deleting the new photos added?

Did you import the duplicates all at once, or did you import, say pictures 1-100 once, an then later import pictures 1-100 again?
If it's the latter, you can make a smart album based on "import session". In that case, the import session will be the only difference between your two photos in the library. Make an album based on the import session of the first time you imported pictures 1-100. Once you make a smart album, you can select all and delete them.
If it's the former, it could be a little harder. If that's the case, can you make an album in which all photos are sets of duplicates? If so, I imagine that photos 1 and 2 are duplicates of each other, then 3 and 4 are duplicates of each other, etc.
Auto-stack all photos in your "duplicates" album such that Aperture makes stacks with photos that have the same exact time stamp (I.e., 0:00 apart from each other). Then close all stacks and then select all. *Closing all stacks is very important.* Selecting all when the stacks are closed will select only one photo from the stack. Once you have all those selected, delete all selected photos.
I've never tried any of this, so make sure you double-check each step of the way. If sounds like you have a backup of sorts, since you just imported the photos from iPhoto. Just remember, always have a backup, especially before doing something major to your library.

Out of the blue on my Macbook Pro I am getting two copies of each email. Things OK on iMac and iPhone. Any ideas as to why. Thanks.

Well I don't really have any more suggestions I am afraid. Googling "duplicate email in mac mail" comes up with quite a few hits which may suggest something to you.
Are you IMAP or POP? MobileMe? Is webmail duplicating too? Not sure how the answers lead to a solution but might do.
You could try deleting ~user/Library/Mail/Envelope index which forces all messages to be reindexed. This worked for someone in this thread, as did trashing the pref file for someone.

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

The inkjet spam email is the same one that is causing my iPad's issue! I'm having the exact same problem as you're having --touching the email or having the email at the top of the screen freezes/shuts down ipad. I've been to two Apple stores and no one seems to know what's going on, plus, they claim they haven't heard of this problem i suggested they go to the Apple Commnity to get a feel for what's going on.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
- Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck

Why do I see two copies of every photo when I sync my iPhone or iPad with iPhoto?

Whenever i plug in my iPhone to sync, iPhoto automatically opens.
There are always two copies of every photo I have taken since my last sync. I have to throw one out before syncing.
Why is that?

If you do receive a message that your Creative Suite 6 is in trial mode then choose the License this Software option and enter your Adobe ID and serial number.

This will be covered by Apple Warrenty. Make appointment with Genius and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.
